The gold medals that will be awarded in London this year will be the biggest and heaviest handed out at any summer Olympics.
2012年伦敦奥运会上所颁发的金牌将会是史上最大也是最重的金牌。
At 400 grams （14 ounces ）they will be 17 times heavier than at the 1912 Olympics in Stockholm.

On the other hand, the 1912 games were the last one where gold medals were made entirely of gold.

Calculations by The Economist find that this is much more than the "podium value" of any previous gold medal(based on

发展自主学习能力，让学生快乐学习 ———一堂英语Project课的教学启示 【摘要】根据人类知识习得的规律，只有知识接受方在学习过程中能有所实践和体验，知识及技能才能被真正习得。同样，在英语教育教学过程中，要分析被教育对象的不同特点，重视学生个性的发展，把英语教学过程转变成学生能参与、实践、体验、交流和展现的舞台，帮助他们创造成就感，才能让他们“快乐”地学习。在这样的教学过程中，教师虽不是舞台的主角，但却发挥着更为重要的作用。他需要及时观察和洞悉学生在学习过程中暴露的问题和困惑，适时地去引导和教育学生，实现教育做人和教学知识的实效性。 【关键词】体验学习；自主学习；研究性学习成果展示 一、引言 可能有同行在探讨教学工作的时候，谈到的最大困惑要数“教育主体学生缺乏对学习英语的兴趣，从而对待学习不够主动”这个问题了。仔细思考之后，发现原因还是出在我们一贯的传统教学方法上。“满堂灌”的教学方式不仅磨灭了学生对教学内容主动接受的兴趣，而且还忽视了对学生个性发展的培养。另外，缺乏主动参与，没有体验和探究的学习过程也不会给学生带来真正意义上的知识习得。正如法国大教育家卢梭提倡的教育应当“归于自然”，我们必须要重视教育对象的成长和发育过程，而且还必须要注重他们习得知识的自然过程。所以，只有将一些教学内容设计成为体验性的学习活动，鼓励全体学生在整个教学活动中去体验、实践、参与、合作与交流，才能帮助他们获得语言的习得，实现语言
综合运用能力的提高。学习过程中和谐的人际交往，学生自己的主动探究性学习以及学习成果展示时得到的老师的肯定和评价，都会有助于学生自觉形成自主学习的能力，并且真正做到快乐学习。 那么，如何将教学内容设计成为一个体验性的学习活动？如何激发学生的兴趣，做到真正乐于学习？我们又将如何帮助学生将良好的乐学状态保持和延续下去呢？下面就以具体一堂课的设计准备、课堂实录、课后拓展等实践工作为依据，谈谈如何在日常教学过程中培养学生自主学习能力，发展学生不同个性，从而让学生快乐学习。 二、一堂实践课 1）、设计准备 教学内容：高一第一模块Unit 4 Earthquake 第三课时的Project 教学目标： 1、教育学生了解地震前、中、后的相关常识及生命安全教育 2、指导学生学会用不同手段和工具收集、分析和处理资料 3、鼓励学生学会合作和交流学习 4、训练学生运用英语进行交流 设计思路和依据：新<<英语课程标准>>指出，倡导体验、实践、参与、合作与交流的学习方式和任务型教学途径, 发展学生的综合语言运用能力,使语言学习过程成为学生形成积极的情感态度、主动思维和大胆实践、提高跨文化意识和形成自主学习能力的过程。英语教学的主要任务之一就是为学生的终身学习和发展打下良好的基础。新进入高中的这些学生，语言运用能力较弱，而且几乎不具

英语论文之让学生快乐而有效的完成英语家庭作业 小学英语，在我们农村小学是一门新兴课程。由于农村孩子的年龄特征和认知特点，学习英语往往凭着一时的热情和兴趣，学得快忘得快，一旦遇到挫折，那他们的热情和兴趣就会很快消退。另外，从小学生的学习时间来看，每周三课时，一周在校学习英语的时间大约是2小时，接触运用英语的时间实在是十分有限。因此，“英语教学活动不应该仅限于课堂教学，而要延伸到课堂之外的学习和生活之中。”（《英语课程标准》语）。所以，老师适时、适当、适度布置英语家庭作业显得尤为重要，而学生快乐而有效的完成英语家庭作业更是关键所在。那么如何让学生快乐而有效的完成英语家庭作业呢？ 安排合理，适当有趣。 苏霍姆林斯基认为，家庭作业不应该是课内作业的简单的量的追加，而应该是知识的发展和深化，是学习能力的改善，是掌握课堂知识的准备。因此作业的布置应改变老套的方式，注意引发学生的作业动机，使他们愿做、乐做。作业布置要有趣味性、层次性、针对性、实践性、精简性、延伸性。以一个单元教学为例，我的英语作业是这样布置的：讲新课的前一天布置听读作业，学生听录音后，将读的作业用复读机录下来，争当“优秀播音员”；讲新课当天布置邻居生生课文对话或者将自己所学的内容教给家长，争当“好老师”；上新课的第二天布置制作生词卡片作业，争当“优秀小制作”；第三天布置编课本剧作业，争当“最佳导演”；第四天布置《同步练习册》作业，争当“书写小能手”；第五天布置手抄报或编歌谣或讲故事（一般是周末作业），争当“智多星”。这几种作业在时间上互有穿插，内容上互相补充，而且考虑了语言学习的层次性——先听说、后读写，更多的是让学生充满热情。 巧妙多维地布置作业,不但能使学生对所学的知识在系统疏理的基础上得以升华,而且能使学生主动参与学习,还能激起学生智慧的火花。 检查求实，方便有效。
