(1)题目要看准确,看完全;

(2)全面分析题干,冷静思考选项;

1.—Excuse me. May I use your computer?—_______. It’s broken.

A. Sure

B. Yes, here you are

C. With pleasure

D. I’m afraid not

由下文的It’s broken. 这里I’m afraid not.

2. —_______.

—thank you very much. I will.

A. Congratulations!

B. Best wishes to you

C. Please say hello to your family.

D. What a good wish to your family!

因为A和B两项都可以用thank you very much. C。Please say hello to your family.

3.—If you’re free tonight, how about having dinner together?

—.

A. It doesn’t matter

B. That’s all right

C. All right

D. Not at all

That's all right 和Not at all 是对Thank you 的回答;It doesn't matter是对Sorry 的回答;All right 意为“行,好吧。”

There once lived a king who was very rich. He loved two things above all else: his little daughter and gold. The king had many rooms full of gold, but he wasn't pleased. He wanted to have even more gold.

One day when the king was in his garden, an unknown visitor came to him. He promised the king that he could realize the king's wish for anything he wanted. At first the king didn't believe the stranger, but finally he was convinced(相信). "I wish to have more gold," said the king. "You shall have your wish realized. From tomorrow, everything you touch will turn to gold."

The next morning the king got up very early. He wanted to see if he could realize his wish. First he touched a chair, then a flower, then a table. Everything he touched turned to gold! Then he sat down to eat breakfast. But as soon as he touched his food, it turned to gold. The king began to worry. What would happen if he couldn't eat anything?

Just then the little princess came into the dining room. She ran to her father, but as he touched her, she turned to gold as well.

The king was sad and worried. He went out to the garden. As he was walking, he saw the stranger again. The king begged him to take back the wish. "I don't want any more gold," he cried. The stranger warned the king to be sure this time. Then he agreed to take back the wish.

Culture shock begins with the “honeymoon period”: This is the time when you first arrive in a place where everything about the new cu1ture is strange and exciting. Unluckily, the second period can be more difficu1t. After you have got used to your new life, you can become very uncomfortable and begin to miss your motherland, your family, your friends, your pets and so on. Al1 the little prob1ems in life seem to be much bigger and more worrying when you face them in a foreign country. This period can be very difficult and lead to moving backwards quickly.

The third period is called the “adjustment (调整) period”. This is when you begin to realize that things are not so bad in the new country. Your sense of humor usually becomes stronger and you realize you are becoming stronger by 1earning to take care of yourself in the new place. Things are still difficult, but you are now a survivor.

The fourth period can be cal1ed “at ease at last”. Now you feel quite comfortable in y our new place. You can deal with most problems that you have. You may still have prob1ems with language, but you know you are strong enough to deal with them. At this time, you may feel a little uncomfortable if you

Dear Mr. Wu,

We have discussed whether Jim or Jane should be a Virtue Teenager. Different groups have different recommendations.

Group A of the class strongly recommend Jim. Because Jim is often praised by teachers for his excellent grades. Though he is a boy of few words, he is ready to help others.

However, Group B think Jane is better. It’s true that Jane’s Grades are not so good, but she is willing to do extra work for the class in her spare time.

In my opinion, I prefer Jane to be a Virtue Teenager. As we all know, a Virtue Teenager must have many virtues and be ready to devote his /her time to people in trouble. And Jane has the quality.

I hope my email will be of some value to you.

Yours sincerely,

Li Ping
