摘要:在现代的初中教学中,培养学生的自主学习能力,使其独立思考与解决问题的能力得到锻炼是最主要的目标。初中英语教学中的作文教学一直是教学环节的重难点,为达到教学目标,在教学中可应用小组合作教学模式以提高学生的写作能力与学习兴趣,本文就此进行了探讨。

关键词:初中教学;英语作文;小组合作

随着新课程改革的加深,以学生为主体的教学理念已被广大师生所接受。小组合作教学模式即是确定学生在教学中的主体地位,充分发挥学生在学习中的积极性,组织学生开展自主学习。这种教学模式的应用,转变了学生传统的学习模式,使其不再被动地接受教师的知识灌输,而转变成主动学习。但是这种教学模式由于在实施过程中存在一些问题,其实效性难以保证。

一、小组合作教学模式在初中英语作文教学中的问题

第一,在实际的教学课堂中,小组合作教学模式虚有其表,部分教师只是象征性地设置一个学生讨论环节,其实质还是使用以往的教学模式进行教学。

第二,在小组合作教学模式的实施中,教师对于该模式在认识上有误区,从而导致该模式的实施过于形式化。例如,在教师提出讨论主题之后,学生在分组讨论中无组织、无纪律,甚至在他人进行讨论的掩护下谈论与课堂无关的话题;或者是成绩优秀的学生一直在讨论中占据主体地位,而小组其他组员则在讨论阶段一直沉默,难以发表自己的观点。

二、保证小组合作教学模式在初中英语作文教学中的实效性

1.改进教学模式环节

该教学模式在实际教学中的实施应分为以下几个步骤:

第一,小组内部讨论。在教师选定英语作文题目与要求后,学习小组的组员在组长的带领下首先熟悉作文要求,对作文内容进行初步

把握,然后在小组中以个人理解为根据进行讨论交流,在沟通中丰富写作思维,并且对陌生词汇与词组等进行查漏补缺。

合作学习是新课改的重要内容,这是一种新型的学习方式,简单的说就是通过小组的形式来对初中英语的学习氛围进行提升,调动学生对学习的积极性与热情,以此来加强学生的学习质量与效率,这也是营造高效课堂的主要形式。

一、初中英语写作小组合作学习中存在的问题

想要加强对写作的训练,就应该对语音、语法以及词汇进行充分的了解与掌握,才能从根本上加强自身的表达能力。但现代的初中生词汇的含量相对较为贫乏,难以将想要表达的内容尽情的描述,这也就对学生的写作学习进行了限制。同时,学生在写作的过程中缺乏相应的写作技巧,这也就导致文章的衔接与结构相对较差,缺乏逻辑性,有的文章甚至出现表达错位的现象。此外,我国的初中生在进行英语写作的过程中受到母语的影响,并且对英语文化与风俗的了解相对较少,这也就导致表达上存在一定的错误,这一系列的差异如果难以进行掌握就会使学生对英语有抵触的心理。

二、初中英语写作小组合作学习的措施

1.设置合作学习小组,明确写作的话题

合作小组是进行合作学习的基础,这就要求教师按照学生的实际状况与合作的需求,来对学生进行分组,小组的学生在知识水平、接受能力、学习能力以及交流能力都应存在一定的差异,简单的说就是要加强小组成员之间的互补性。这

[摘要]初中英语写作是难度较大的教学内容,耗费教师很多精力,实际效果却事倍功半。本文探究了如何通过小组合作学习提高学生

的英语写作质量,并阐述了如何运用捆绑式的评价调动学生的积极性,提出小组合作学习方式是解决学生英语写作困难、提高学生综

合语言运用能力的有效方法;捆绑式的评价是缩小两极分化、促进

学生全面发展的有效评价方式。

一、问题的提出

写作是英语技能的重要组成部分,是体现学生综合语言运用能力的

输出性技能。写作能力训练是发展学生思维能力和表达能力的有效

途径,也是衡量教学效果的标准之一(王笃勤,2002)。然而,英

语写作能力的发展却是我国英语教育的弱点(武尊民,2008)。

笔者近几年一直任教毕业班的英语课。每当上写作课时,学生们总

是显得很不情愿,与平时的活泼、主动、热情形成鲜明对比。而且,学生上交的作文层次不清,衔接不畅,句子不通,条理紊乱;还有

书写潦草、卷面不洁等。教师费力批完,学生往往臵之一边,不问

不看。“因此每次作文批改,都会令教师和学生产生消极情绪,进而

使得学生和教师都惧怕英语写作”(关世民,2008)。笔者认为,小

组合作学习方式有助于解决以上问题。

小组合作学习自20世纪70年代中期兴起以来,已成为世界范围内

的主流教改策略,是目前许多国家普遍采用的一种富有创意和实效

的教学理论和策略。它在改善课堂内的社会心理气氛、大面积提高

学生的学业成绩、促进学生形成良好的品质等方面效果显著。它充

分体现了素质教育的理念:使课堂教学面向全体学生;使每个学生

都积极参与并乐在其中;使学生学会合作;培养学生通过独立思考、共同探究来主动解决问题的能力。

在英语教学中,小组合作学习较多地运用于课堂口语训练和难题的

讨论,

而在英语写作这一难度较大的教学环节却应用得很少。究其原因,

众多教师认为难以操作。本文对运用小组合作学习方法进行初中英

语写作教学进行了探讨,并阐述了如何运用捆绑式评价调动学生的

学习积极性。

二、小组的形成和组员的分工

根据多元智能理论和学生的学习水平及性格特点,笔者将全班学生

按座位的就近原则分组,前后4人或5~6人为一组,做到“组内异质,组间同质”。每个小组的组员再根据学业水平的不同进行编号(a、b、c……),编号的目的是在作文评价阶段,便于不同组内同

一编号的学生代表自己的小组进行组间比较。组内选举一个小组长,小组长不一定英语学得最好,但要公正、热情、有威信,并愿意为

大家服务。

组员的分工由小组长负责(教师协助),根据组员的智能优势和语

言水平分配不同的工作。例如,学生a负责主题句、衔接语、过渡

句等难度较大的内容;学生b负责要点和内容、段落与层次;学生c 负责句式;学生d负责格式和时态;学生e负责书写和卷面整理。

具体的任务是:在小组讨论环节,轮到讨论自己负责的内容时,责

任人一要担当“发言人”角色,并在向全班汇报时代表本组发言;二

要担当“记录员”角色,记录每一小组成员在本环节讨论中的发言次

数和质量、请教次数、学习态度、倾听和批改的认真程度等,目的

是收集评价资料,用于互评时打分;三要担当“检查员”角色,检查

督促小组成员对所负责内容的修改和背诵。小组长可以兼任责任人,其责任是分配学习任务,组织小组活动,协调组员关系,协助每个

责任人履行各自的职责,统计每个人的评价得分。

合作一段时期后,再轮换职责。分工合作能“促使每个学生主动参与,以充分发挥自己的学习潜能,形成有效的学习策略,提高自主学习

能力”(教育部,2003)。

三、小组合作的方法探究

学生写不出高质量的作文原因是多方面的,其中重要的原因之一是

学生写作缺乏支架(nunan, 2004)。vygotsky(1978)认为,当

学生的当前发展水平无法独立完成任务时,在成人或能力较强的同

伴帮助下,他们可以达到潜在发

展水平,并完成任务。这种介于当前发展水平和潜在发展水平之间

的区域就是最近发展区,成人或有能力的同伴的帮助就称为支架

(康艳,2011)。

在传统的写作活动中,学生由于遇到问题时得不到帮助,没人为其

搭建支架,导致其完不成写作任务。而小组合作是生生互动、互助

的学习过程,学生在合作交流、互帮互助中发挥各自智能优势,互

相搭建支架,就可以达到最近发展区,完成学习任务。合作步骤分为:写作过程合作→互批过程合作→评价过程合作。

1.运用小组合作写作解决作文中存在的问题

写作开始前,教师首先向学生提供写作素材,然后指出作文中的常

见问题。针对这些问题,根据作文的篇章结构、语言知识提出讨论

的内容要求和步骤。具体分为以下几个阶段:

(l)责任人准备。讨论之前给学生留出3~5分钟的独立思考时间,以便责任人对自己负责的内容进行思考和整理,为将要进行的讨论

做准备,不明白的地方可以咨询他人或教师。此阶段由于思维尚未

被激活,那些不能完全胜任的责任人可能羞于开口询问,此时需要

组长鼓励他们主动问询,并为主动提问和提供帮助的人加分。

(2)小组合作写作。教师根据作文的语篇结构和语言知识将讨论的

内容分成下面的五部分,这五部分也是学生作文出现问题最多的地方。学生通过讨论彼此借鉴,互相纠错,由此减少错误的发生。具

体步骤如下:

①要点与内容

拿到一篇作文的题目后,第一任务就是读题和审题,对材料进行分析,确定写作的内容和要点。有的学生写作时总是漏掉要点,尽管

词数很多,得分却不高;有些学生不知怎样寻找作文的要点,而有

些文章的要点也的确难以把握,这就要发挥集体的作用,进行小组

讨论。现以淄博市2008年中考作文题为例来说明具体的操作方法。

阅读下列新闻(中央电视台播报):在成都崇州怀远镇中心学校有

一位英语老师,他叫吴忠红。12号下午发生地震时,正在上课的吴

忠红立刻指挥楼里犯个班的700多名学生快速撤离。当听说有两名

学生掉队,他又义无反顾地

从三楼返回四楼,就在这个时候教学楼整体垮塌,掩埋了吴忠红和

两名学生。四层教学楼一片废墟,16岁的高中生吴楠还在守望着废

墟里的父亲……

听了这则报道之后,你一定会深受感动。请给吴忠红的家人写一封信,表述一下你的心情。信的内容不要涉及你的学校和姓名。词数:80~100。

读完作文题,首先要确定写作要点,而这篇文章的要点很不明晰,

要求是“写封信,表心情”,不少学生不知从何处着手写。此时就要

发挥集体的作用,进行小组讨论。首先,负责内容与要点的责任人

谈谈对这一部分内容的意见,例如:文章应分几个要点来写,主要

写什么内容。责任人说完后,大家的思维被激活,组内其他组员轮

流发表见解,相互补充。其间,责任人要记录每人发言中有价值的

内容、每人发言的次数等,作为互评阶段打分的依据。然后责任人

归纳组内意见并提交讨论内容。在教师的指导下,全班最后确定写

作要点为以下三个方面:a.简单描述报道内容;b.描述自己的心情;c.给予吴楠安慰和鼓励。要点确定后,责任人除了自己详细记

录外,还要督促大家做好提纲式的记录,并检查后进生,确保不遗

漏重点。

在写作内容方面,不少学生的作文言之无物,要么无话可说,要么

整个段落重复同样的内容。小组讨论可以激活学生已有的知识储备,使学生回忆起学过的相关课文、阅读材料以及听力内容等,拓展了

思维,学习资源得以共享。例如,2011年淄博市中考作文题如下:

保持健康的体魄,拥有健康的生活方式对于我们每个人来说都是重

要的。请以how to keep fit为题,写一篇100词左右的短文。

许多学生看完要求,一时感觉难以下笔,因为试题没有给出具体的

内容提示。但经过主发言人的抛砖引玉,大家想起了课本上(鲁教版,2008)学过的七年级上册“how often do you exercise?”和九

年级“it’s important to have a healthy lifestyle”单元的内容。学生

的思维被激活,开始回忆老师讲过的内容,查找笔记,翻阅教材,

最后从饮食、锻炼、睡眠、心理健康四个方面来阐述该主题,这样

作文内容就变得丰富而充实。学生在运用课文、笔记中相关的词汇、句型的过程中也强化了对这些知识的掌握。

②格式与时态

确定了写作要点之后,下笔之前还要确定文章的格式与时态。有些

学生拿到作文题就写,格式不清,时态乱用,导致作文质量不高。

英文写作格式常见的有书信、日记、说明书、通知、演讲稿等,需

要特别记住的是书信和日记格式。书信格式不能漏掉开头的称呼和

最后的落款;日记格式要记住在开头的第一行写出日期、天气、星

期等信息。确定了格式再选择时态,说明书常用一般现在时,如服

药说明、仪器使用说明等;通知多用将来时;书信的时态要根据内

容而定,过去、现在、将来、完成等时态都有可能用到。许多学生

对时态把握不准,或知道用什么时态但下笔就出错,集体的智慧会

使之变得相对容易。

以前面提到的关于地震的中考作文为例,首先,责任人对文章的格式、时态及用到的动词短语发表自己的观点。责任人发言内容如下:(1)格式:书信格式,要包括信头、称呼、正文、结束语、落款等;(2)时态:要点一和要点二因为要描述当时发生的事情和自己听后

的心情,所以要用过去时;,要点三是给予吴楠安慰和鼓励,可以

用一般现在时和将来时;(3)主要动词短语:听说(heard

of/about)、地震发生(the earthquake happened)、为救他人

栖牲生命(lost o ne’s life in order to save others)、深受感动

(be deeply moved by)、以……为荣(be proud of)(;4)重点强调:易拼错的单词有happened、heard、lost。

主讲人讲完后,大家相互补充,相互纠错;补充期间,责任人要记

录有价值的发言以及倾听过程中自己产生的灵感和各组员的表现。

讨论过后,责任人归纳总结并代表小组在全班发言,同时记录其他

组的发言重点,下笔之前,责任人还要强调易错点,补充自己的想法,点拨语法重点(如主谓一致、名词复数等),并要求大家做好

记录。有了小组的讨论,学生在运用格式、时态和动词方面,不再

下笔就出错或是拿着笔发呆。小组讨论可以使学生学会分析体裁,

判断时态,减少语法错误,快速进人写作状态。

③句式

要想使文章读起来让人耳目一新,就要注意写作过程中句式的变化。单一的句式使文章显得单调枯燥,变化多样的句式才能使文章趣味

横生,充满活力。有的学生整篇文章几乎句式不变,或重复使用1~

英语写作教学中小组合作批改的有效策略 张慧沛县龙固中学 摘要:英语写作教学一直是初中英语教学中的重难点,存在费时低效的问题。要提高学生的写作能力,就要调动学生的写作积极性,而学生写作积极性的激发,需要激发学生自主写作的兴趣,其中最有效的方法就是小组合作批改作文。本文立足于以学生为主体的教学理念,运用合作学习理论探讨初中英语写作教学中小组合作批改的有效策略。 关键词:英语写作小组合作批改有效策略 现阶段,写作已成为英语教学中的重点,在教学实践中,写作教学也越来越受到教师的重视,但还存在着重理论指导轻实践演练的现象,所以英语写作教学尤其是批改环节还是教学中的难点。通常英语写作教学,教师给出写作注意的事项,然后学生写作,教师批改后进行全班点评,指出普遍存在的问题,并拿出优秀的文章让大家共享。一般来说,学生拿到教师批改后的作文,更多关注的是教师给出的分数,而不是作文中存在的问题。即使学生关注教师的批改,大都修订的是教师圈出的字词等,很少能从整体立意、构思、布局等方面进行思考。这样教师批改虽花费了大量的时间与精力,但收效甚微。因此,初中英语写作教学中必须探寻新的途径,以提高教学效果。学生是学习的主体,要提高教学效果,必须调动学生的学习积极性,激发学生的学习兴趣,只有这样才能达到预定的教学目的。初中英语写作教学中调动学生的自主写作兴趣,最有效的方式就是小组合作批改。这与初中英语课程标准相符合,初中英语课程标准指出:鼓励学生通过体验、实践、讨论、合作、探究等方式,发展听、说、读、写的综合语言技能。 一、小组合作的必要性 素质教育强调学生是学习的主体,教师要充分调动学生的学习积极性,凸显学生的主观能动性,这为写作教学调动学生的主动性提供了依据。同时小组合作学习又称为合作学习,起源于社会心理学的研究,20世纪70年代兴起于美国,是英语教学中行之有效的学习方式之一,在写作教学中更能凸显出其作用,这为写作教学中实施以学生为主体的教学模式提供了理论根基。
