High-Performance cutting (HPC) for impro-ved value creation in milling operations

We have come to develop a new gene-ration of milling cutters for finishing and rough-machining operations, which is superior by its excellent performance and can be handled easily and reliably.
This new generation comprises two dif-ferent series of milling cutters:
1. MKS Milling Cutter for rough-machi-ning and semi-finishing
2. M ES M illing Cutter for finishing and fine-finishing.
Highlight of the MES Milling Cutter: each individual insert on the MES Milling Cut-ter can be adjusted in height separately -a feature which allows for highly precise MKS/MES Milling Cutters

For rough-machining and finishing applications, we have come to develop a new generation of milling cutters, as well as new cutting materials.
The milling cutters of the series MKS
were especially designed for rough-machining and finishing operations,whereas the series M ES is particularly suited for finishing and fine finish.
High-Performance Milling
using MKS/MKE Milling Cutters
As a highlight, the height of each individual insert on the M ES M illing Cutter can be adjusted separately - a feature which provides for highly pre-cise machining results to be obtained.The new range of MKS / MES Mil-ling Cutters is available in diameters of 40 - 125 mm and numbers of teeth witch suite the properties. The M KS M illing Cutters are available with entering angles of 45°, 75° and 88°,while the entering angle of MES Mil-ling Cutters is 88°.
On modern machining centers, a cutting speed of v c > 1200 m/min and a table feed of v f > 6000 mm/min can be used without any risk to process reliability. This high-performance (HPC) potential of MKS and MES mil-ling cutters allows for the cost of mil-ling operations on cast iron materials to be reduced by a two-digit percen-tage.
Coated Silicon nitride Grade SL 854 C for use in HPC Milling
Al grades enable different geome-tries of the milling inserts. The gene-ration of M KS/M ES milling cutters allows for using negative 8-edge indexable inserts or 4-edge inserts in silicon nitride with positive chip breaker style HC on one milling body.
The well-tried ceramic grades SL 500, SL 808 and SH 2, as well as the Cermet grade SC 7015 are com-plemented by the coated silicon nitri-de grade SL 854 C. Owing to the multi-layer TiCN-TiN coating, the
wear is reduced and the friction bet-ween the cutting insert and the workpiece surface is decreased,which results in lower machining temperatures and prolonged tool-life.
