Whenl saw the titile of this essay I amsupposed to be writing about, all I felt were its broadness and abstractness. It was in the London Heathrow International Airport that our passports and airplane tickets were stolen a few minutes before the plane took off. Despaired and tired as we were, we wan dered on the flourish ing streets of London and felt isolated from all the n earby lighthearted laughters.
It did n't take a long time for the lin geri ng homesick ness hit us and reminded us of the Chinese Embassyat the U.K that might be our sheet anchor. Ages passed while we walked to the embassy, sufferi ng from hun ger and helpless ness with every step we took. Sure eno ugh, our eyes were uncon sciously filled with tears whe n we fin ally reached the spot. I was take n by surprise whe n the brightly-colored Chin ese n ati onal flag broke through the
darkness and appeared once again in front of myeyes, recalling all the pleasure I had at home. It suddenly felt as if I was taken home, a home where all my fear and an xiety vani shed and replaced by the hope and warmth that ran all over my body to cheer meup. The ambassadors were all amiable Chinese officers and the familiar Chinese accent drew me closer to my motherland where we received the only help. The ambassadors madeus noodles in the familiar
Chinese way and settled the accommodation for us. I had tears running dow n my cheeks whe n the hot no odles, smelled as pleasant as mymother's at home, filled my stiff empty stomach because I knew I was safe in the arms of my compatriots and there was no need to be worried anymore for I knew I was home.
Wesuccessfully returned to Beiji ng the n ext day and I still could n't forget the mome nt whe n I felt so much closer to my motherla nd tha n any other time given, as though our hearts were beating in one melody.
