说明：目前生界各国对期刊刊名的报导大多采纳缩写刊名，在检索外文科技资料时，查找刊名全称是个难题，为方便
我校读者查找外刊，充足利用外文期刊馆藏资源，阅览部特编写《常用英文期刊刊名缩写》，本表参照科技第一版社《外国科技期刊刊名缩略语辞典》，并联合本馆最近几年外刊馆藏整理，此表范围之外的期刊可到外刊阅览室查问。

這一兩個月正是研究生們論文口試的旺季，不論研究做得好不好、文章寫得精不出色，論文最後的
參考文獻必定要注意，這部分卻常是同學們最简单忽视( 或忽視 ) 的一段。參考文獻的寫法可依據不一样
的
規則而異，但無論按照那種寫法，必要全體一致(consistent)。這此中又有期刊名稱縮寫的問題，常令
人頭痛。
往常生物期刊名稱的縮寫都以國際標準組織(International Organization for Standardization)
所訂之期刊名稱縮寫(International List of Periodical Title Word Abbreviation)為基準，初期此標準刊印於 ISO 833-1974，但 1979 年已被撤銷，现在到 ISO 網站 ( 查察，我們可發現他們第一版了兩
本有關第一版物及書目的縮寫規則 : 即

當然，這都得花錢購買。
nd edition, 此外，專門教導論文寫作的 Style Manual for Biological Journals (2
1966) 也列有參考文獻顶用字的標準縮寫，而根據的是來自美國標準協會(American Standards Association, Sectional Committee Z39 on Library Work and Documentation) 所訂之標準。目前許多期刊也都要求投稿者，文獻中引用的期刊名稱縮寫需參照BioSciences Information Service 企业的Serial Sources for the BIOSIS Data Base volume 1984 來書寫。
其實只需記得，將期刊名稱中的前置詞 (prepositions) 、冠詞 (articles) 與連接詞 (conjunctions) 刪除，再記得單一字的期刊名稱沒有縮寫，其余參考網頁
上供给的縮寫，則應可應付各位的困擾。假如還有不知怎样縮寫的期刊名稱，麻煩到Bioscience 首頁( 中的資料庫，圈選” Journal Name ”後，輸入期刊全名，即可查得其正確的縮寫方式。
