Have you ever thought of taking a train and having an adventure (奇遇)？Riding the train can be a real adventure.That is how I feel every time I take Amtrak.I often take a four-hour trip to visit my children.Every time I take this trip I never know what will happen.
Last week when I was on the train and over an hour into the train ride，there was a man sitting by himself in the back of the train carrying on a mobile phone conversation—in another language.It was loud and disturbed most of the people on the train.I think it was annoying.
Fortunately I sat next to a wonderful old lady who was taking a two-day trip by train.She said her two daughters were distraught at the thought of her driving for three days to reach her home，although she had no trouble driving.The train ride was the only choice for her.She loved to look out of the window and watch the world go by on the train.
She was fun to talk to and asked me when my children started being parents.That is a very good question.Both of us are old and have children.She asked that same question from time to time.
There are always many people on the train from all walks of life，different countries and many languages.Riding the train is a great way to increase your knowledge and take in all kinds of cultures.If you get hungry，you can buy food in the food car at any time.If you need to use the restroom，there is always one available.
It sure beats driving the car，which has to stop for food and restrooms.And it is better than taking the bus.

Be honest，as holidays go，Mot her’s Day in America is still a bigger deal than Father’s Day.But millions of dads receive at least a card or a call or maybe some other gifts from their family.And much has changed since that first celebration in 1910.
Father’s Day was celebrated this yea r on Sunday，June 16.This special day to honor and celebrate fathers has a history of over a century behind it.In 1909 there was a woman named Sonora Dodd.She was in church for Mother’s Day，which is celebrated in May.
Her mother had died in childbirth，leaving her father to raise her and her five brothers and sisters.She always thought about how difficult it had been for her father to raise six children all by himself.She thought that since there was a day honoring mothers，there should be also one recognizing fathers.
Sonora Dodd campaigned for the idea in her home state of Washington.The first Father’s Day was celebrated in June,1910，in the city of Spokane.June was the month when her father was born.
At first Sonora Dodd had found little support.But in the years that followed，the idea of Father’s Day spread across the country.It gained the approval(赞同) of President Woodrow Wilson in 1916.Yet he never signed an official proclamation (公告)，as he did two years ago for the first Mother’s Day.
President Calvin C oolidge in 1924 added his support for a national observance of Father’s Day.Then in 1966 President Lyndon Johnson declared it the third Sunday in June.Finally，in 1972，President Richard Nixon made it permanent (永久的)．
Other countries also celebrate Father’s Day，some on the third Sunday in June，others on a different day.

Secondly—Take photos！When we visit a place of interest，most of us take a camera.If you want to take some photos，remember to choos e the most special sights.Don’t choose the sight that we can see in other places.For example，Beidaihe，Qingdao and Zhuhai are coastal (沿海的)cities.Don’t only take photos of the sea.You should take something else，too.
Thirdly—Taste！Some people like to buy some food that they like most during their tours.In my opinion，don’t buy the food that you like most because you can buy it in your own city or town.You had better taste something special in the place of interest.Snacks in some places are very delicious.And from a place’s snacks，you can find its food culture.So why not taste them？Maybe you have just one chance to taste it in your life.
Fourthly—Write！When you visit a place，you should take a pen and a notebook，so you can write something down.It’s possible that you can write a good https://www.doczj.com/doc/448715571.html,ter，when you read it，you will feel that you can find the pleasure during the tour.
