考试规范——英语专业四级考试

一.考试目的

本考试的目的是全面检查已学完英语专业四级课程的学生是否达到教学大纲所规定的各项要求,考核学生运用各项基本技能的能力以及学生对语法结构和词语用法的掌握程度,既测试学生的综合能力,也测试学生的单项技能。同时,也是检查评估高校英语专业基础阶段教学质量和水平,推动校际交流的一种手段。

二.考试能力范畴

1.听写,能在全面理解所听内容的基础上逐字逐句、准确无误地写出全文;能把握各个意群;能理解各个意群之间的逻辑关系。

2.听力,能听懂英语国家人士关于日常生活和社会生活的谈话,以及中等难度的听力材料;能理解大意,领会说话者的态度、感情和真是意图;能听懂相当于VOA正常语速和BBC新闻节目的主要内容;能辨别各种英语语体。

3.完形填空,能在全面理解所给短文的基础上,选择一个最佳答案是短文意思和结构恢复完整。

4.语法词汇,掌握并能运用大纲规定的一至四级语法内容;掌握大纲规定的基础阶段认知词汇(5500-6000),并且能正确、熟练地运用其中的3000-4000个单词即其最基本的搭配。

5.阅读理解,能读懂英美国家出版的中等难度的文章和材料;能读懂难度相当于美国Newsweek的国际新闻报道;能掌握所读材料的主旨大意,了解说明主旨大意的事实和细节;能读懂难度相当于Sons and Lovers的文学原著;能理解字面意思又能根据所读材料进行判断和推理;能理解个别句子的意义,也能理解上下文的逻辑关系;能在阅读中根据需要自觉调整阅读速度和阅读技巧。

6.写作,能根据所给的作文题目、提纲或图表、数据等,写一篇200个单词左右的作文;能做到内容切题、完整,条理清楚,结构严谨,语法正确,语言通顺,表达得体。

三.考试对象

1、经教育部备案或批准的高等院校中:英语专业二年级本科生(考生类型的编号为“40”)

2、经教育部备案或批准的高等院校中:修完英语专业基础阶段教学大纲规定课程的二、三年制最后一学年的大专生。(考生类型的编号为“20”)

3、经教育部批准有学历的成人高等教育学院中:四年制即脱产学习的英语专业(第二学年)本科生;五年制即不脱产学习的、修完英语专业基础阶段教学大纲规定课程(第三学年)的本科生。脱产的二年制大专生,必须

在第二学年时方可报名参加四级测试;不脱产的三年制大专生,必须在第三学年时方可报名参加四级测试。(考生类型的编号为“50”)

4、重点外语类院校中(指北京外国语大学,北京第二外国语学院,对外经济贸易大学,天津外国语学院,大连外国语学院,上海外国语大学,广东外语外贸大学,四川外语学院,西安外国语学院等15所院校),以专业英语作为第二学位或第二专业且CET4达600分或以上(相当于优秀)的二年级本科生。(考生类型的编号为“60”)

5、曾参加TEM4统测但未通过的英语专业学生可参加此次补考,但仅此一次补考机会,不参加作自动放弃,补考机会不顺延。(考生类型的编号为“70”)

四.考试内容

本考试共有六个部分:一. 写作二. 听写三. 听力理解四. 完形填空五. 语法及词汇六. 阅读理解。前两部分需时60分钟。后四部分需时80分钟,整个考试需时140分钟。

五.考试方式

为了较好地考核学生运用各项基本技能的能力,既照顾到科学性,客观性,又照顾到可行性以及基础阶段英语水平测试的特点,同时为确保试卷的信度,本考试除写作及听写部分为主观试题外,其余都采取多项选择

题形式。主观试题部分旨在较好地测试学生灵活运用语言的能力,从而提高试卷的效度。

满分—100分

1.听写,15个意群,共15分。

2.听力理解,30道选择题,每题0.5分,满分15分。

3.完形填空,20道选择题,每题0.5分,满分10分。

4.语法词汇, 30道选择题,每题0.5分,满分15分。

5.阅读理解, 20道选择题,每题1分,满分20分。

6.写作,A、命题作文,满分15分。

B、便条,满分10分。

考试日期:每年四月份的第三个周六。

考试总时间长度:130min

听写:15min

听力理解:15min

完形填空:15min

语法及词汇:15min

阅读理解:25min

写作:45min

九.评分标准

满分—100分

一、听写评分标准;

1. 满分为15分,听写共分15小节,每节1分,扣分一律写在试卷右边的空白处。大错误下面画线。小错误用圆圈表示,重复错误用三角记号表示。

2. 每节最多扣1分。

3. 重复错误,仅扣一次分。

4. 错误共分两类:小错误(minor mistakes)和大错误(major mistakes),分别扣0.25分和0.5分。

A. 小错误:

1)单词拼写错一到两个字母。例:

steadily → staedily; harbor → habor

两个字母以下的词、次序颠倒算小错。

2)标点符号错误(含大小写)。例:

World War I → world war one

, and then adopted → . And then adopeted

3) 冠词、单复数错误。例:

until the beginning → until beginning; parent → parents

4)小错误扣分标准:小错误在一节中出现一次,留作总计;出现两次:扣0.5分;出现三次:扣0.5分后留作总计;出现四次:扣1分。

5)未扣分小错误的扣分标准:

累计2 ~ 4 个:扣0.5分

累计5 ~ 8 个:扣1分

B. 大错误:漏写、加词、造词、换词(冠词作小错计)、大移位、时态错误,每个错误扣0.5分。例:

loved → love;task — test; trip — trap; flee — flea;have finished — finsh(ed)

5. 一些特例的扣分标准:

下列情况不扣分:

World War I → World War One

race car → racecar

well-balanced → well balanced

90 percent → 90%

6. 总分只有0.5分时,以1分计算;其余总分中如含小数点的,小数舍去,保留整数,如12.5 → 12;

7.5 → 7

7. 空白卷一律打0分。

二、听力理解评分标准

满分为15分,共30道选择题,每题扣0.5分

三、完形填空评分标准

满分10分,共20道选择题,每题扣0.5分

四、语法词汇评分标准

满分15分,共30道选择题,每题0.5分

五、阅读理解评分标准

满分20分,共20道选择题,每题1分

六、写作

A、命题作文

满分15分,分五个等级,14分、11分、8分、5分和2分,可以酌情加一或减一分,但不得加或减半分。

具体标准为:

14分:切题。表达思想清楚,文字通顺,连贯性较好,基本无语言错误。11分:切题。表达思想清楚,文字连贯,但有少量语言错误。

8分:基本切题。表达思想比较清楚,文字上连贯,但语言错误较多,其中有少量严重错误。

5分:基本切题。表达思想不够清楚,文字连贯性差,有较严重的语言错误。2分:条理不清,思想紊乱,语言支离破碎或大部分句子均有错误,且多数为严重错误。

交白卷,或作文与题目毫不相干,或只写几个单词,以0分计算。

评分对于字数的要求:累计字数在150-170之间,扣1分;130-150之间,扣2分;110-130之间,扣3分;90-110之间,扣4分;90以下,至多给5分。若照抄提示中原句,均不得计入所写字数

B、便条

满分10分,主要参照格式完整,结构合理,内容表达清楚,行文连贯,能否实现应用文的交际功能等方面。

十.施考

考试纪律要求

为了保证考试的良好秩序,全面反映每位同学的学习情况,杜绝考试违纪现象,严肃考试纪律,提出以下几点考试纪律要求:

一、考试要求:

1、考生在开考前15分钟进入考场,并按规定位置就座,不得随意变动;

2、考生进入考场只准带规定允许的文具,其他物品一律集中放在指定位置;

3、特别强调:考生不得带通讯工具(手机、小灵通等)入考场;

4、不准夹带、偷看、抄袭或有意让他人抄袭,不准接传答案或者交换答卷;不准交头接耳、左顾右盼;

5、考生在考场内必须保持安静,考试时严格遵守考试时间,考试中途不得离开考场,考试结束时方可交卷,不得提前交卷。

6、考试期间学生必须将自行车按规定位置停放,排放整齐。要认真做好环境卫生,不乱丢乱抛废纸,保持好考场环境卫生。

二.考试中凡有下列行为且证据确凿者,一律视为作弊,取消其分数有效性:

1.夹带资料;

2.传送或接受他人答案;

3.交头接耳、左顾右盼;

4.携带通讯工具(手机、小灵通等);

5.以其他方式作弊者。

考试安排:

1.监考员进入考室,先在黑板上写明考试时间,接着检查考生准考准,然后播放考生须知、当众拆封试卷。

2.提前5分钟发卷,让考生可以快速浏览试卷。

3.播放听写的录音,15分钟后第一次交卷。

4.播放听力理解录音,做听力理解题,时间为15分钟,再做其他选择题,包括完形填空、语法与词汇和阅读理解三部分,70分钟后第二次交卷。

5.写作文和便条,45分钟后第三次交卷,考试结束。十一.考试命题细目表

But with low-income students projected to make up an ever-larger share of the college-bound population in coming years, some schools are re-examining whether that aid, typically known as “merit aid”, is the most effective use of precious institutional dollars. Not all colleges offer merit aid; generally, the more selective a school, the less likely it is to do so. Harvard and Princeton, for example, offer generous need-based packages, but many families who don’t meet need eligibility(资格)have been willing to pay whatever they must for a big-name school. For small regional colleges that struggle just to fill seats, merit aid can be an important revenue-builder because many recipients still pay enough tuition dollars over and above the scholarship amount to keep the institution running. But for rankings-conscious schools in between, merit aid has served primarily as a tool to recruit top students and to improve their academic profits. “They’re trying to buy students,”says Skidmore College economist Sandy Baum. Studies show merit aid also tends to benefit disproportionately students who could afford to enroll without it. “As we look to the future, we see a more pressing need to invest in need-based aid,”says Monica Inzer, dean of admission and financial aid at Hamilton, which has offered merit scholarships for 10 years. During that time, it rose in US News & World Repor t’s ranking of the best liberal arts colleges, from 25 to 17. Merit aid, which benefited about 75 students a year, or about 4% of its student body, at a cost of about $ 1 million a year, “served us well,”Inzer says, but “to be
