2) 句法作用：(1) this/these和that/those的用法：分别用于在空间和时间上的进指和远指。
① 作为先行词用法的that和those中，those能指人和物，that 只能指物，且表单数。
② that/those，this/these可用来替代前文明确的名词及名词短语。
③ This和that可以作为状语表示程度。
注：one表示泛指，that和it 表示特指。
that与所指名词为同类，但不是同一个，而it 与所指名词为同一个。

② 在并列的主语或宾语中，总是先排第二人称代词，再排第三人称代词，而把I 和we 或其宾格 me 和us 放在最后。
如与其他代词并列，人称代词在前;与其他名词并列，人称代词一般放后。
③ 在动词 be 或 to be 后的人称代词视其前面的名词或代词而定。
2.反身代词反身代词不能作主语或复合主语的一部分且反身代词必须与所代表的名次保持数、性和格的一致。
3.不定代词① 不定代词有：all , both, every, each, either, neither, more, little, few, much, many, another, other, some, any , one, some, something, anything, everything, somebody, someone, anybody, anyone, nothing , nobody, no one, none, everybody, everyone, etc..② 不定代词的功能与用法除 every 和 no外不定代词既可用作名词，也可用作形容词。
every和 no在句中只能作定语。
all 都，指三者以上。
all 的主谓一致：all 的单复数由它所修饰或指代的名词的单复数决定。
all 通常不与可数名词单数连用，但 all 可与表时间的可数名词单数连用。
all 还可以与一些特殊的单数名词连用，如 all China， all my life， all the way③ both 都，指两者。
both 与复数动词连用，但both… and…可与单数名词连用。

平行句的前后一般都有and 连接起来。
例如看到了and doing, 那么前面必定有个doing;看到and because 则前面比有一个because 从句。
