英语高考读后续写再10篇

Boys like to be considered to be brave, but what kind of things can be considered to be brave? It is not a question that can be answered by words, but by the actual deed.

A boy with the name Henry gave us a good example. Ronny and Henry were two friends in the same class. They always played together and went home together. One day as Ronny and Henry were going home after school, they saw some people fighting in the street corner. Ronny said excitedly, “Some people are fighting! Let's go and have a look!” But Henry refused, “It's none of our business. We'd better go home and don't get close to them. Also our parents are expecting to have dinner with us together at home and I don't want them to worry about me.”

“You are a coward, and afraid to go,” said Ronn y, and off he ran to the spot with some other boys. Henry had to go home alone and didn't think about it anymore.

But Ronny thought Henry was a coward and told all the boys that. They laughed at him a great deal. From then on, they looked down upon Henry and didn't want to play with him.

Henry was sad but he wasn't angry with Ronny for his rude behavior, because he had learned that true courage was shown most in bearing misunderstanding when it was not deserved, and that he ought to be afraid of nothing but doing wrong. Thus, he just ignored the other boys' laughter and continued to stick to his thought and go to school and study as well. However, Ronny didn't invite Henry to go home with him anymore. Instead, he had his new friends who also thought Henry was a coward. Every day after school, they didn't go home directly but went to the river or somewhere to play games and had lots of fun.

Paragraph 1:

A few days later, something terrible happened to Ronny.

At that moment, Henry happened to pass by.

Possible answer:

A few days later, something terrible happened to Ronny. That afternoon after school, Ronny was bathing with some of his new friends in the river happily. Suddenly, he was stuck in the mud and couldn't get out. He struggled hard but he was still trapped. He screamed for help, but all in vain. The boys who had called Henry a coward got out of the water as fast as they could. They were so scared and did not even try to help him.

At that moment, Henry happened to pass by. He heard the screams and ran to the river as soon as possible. Seeing Ronny was almost drowned, Henry took off his clothes immediately and jumped into the water without any hesitation. He

reached Ronny just as he was sinking the last time. With great effort, and with much danger to himself, he brought Ronny to the shore in time. Henry was happy to help his friend, though he was extremely tired.

I was doing a big clean-up recently and my kids were helping when my son, Freddo, came across a knotted handkerchief with an old dark brown coin inside. “Mum, can I have this? Can I play with this coin?” he asked. I took one look and was immediately transported to another time.

In 1991,here was a time when my friend and I worked in a backward African country, Niger, hit by sandstorms and burning heat. There were many things I found difficult about this place—the climate and beggarswere my biggest headaches. So after finishing five months of nursing work there, we moved on to work at a health clinic in the neighboring country, Burkina Faso. “It's much greener in Burkina. Even the Coke tastes better,” the locals assured us.

Yet the fact was quite the opposite. Arriving by taxi at our destination in Burkina, we began to unload. I was reaching for my larger piece of luggage when, out of the darkness, a motorbike with two men approached slowly. Without warning, one of the men grabbed my daypack as the motorbike swept close by. Within seconds, the pair were out of sight, swallowed up by the night.

With my passport, money, traveler’s cheques all in the bag, I was in deep trouble. How frustrating!

Come and let me tell you a story.”

beautiful atmosphere of the village. She really wanted to move into the city and enjoy the city life. She wanted to shop, move around the city, watch movies, and eat in fantastic restaurants and cafes, etc.

However, there was hardly any chance that Carol's family moved to the city as they had everything in the village.

One day, Carol fell asleep during the early noon and she had a sound sleep. Of course, she had a strangedream. She saw her grandmother in her dream as a fairy and her deceased grandmother granted her a wish. Carol requested her that she would love to enjoy the city life as she always desired.

Grandmother understood the desire of Carol, but still wanted to convince her that the peaceful village life is better than the city life.

She told Carol, “Baby, y ou cannot have access to fresh fruits and vegetables from plants as you have at your home. You cannot breathe fresh air. You cannot play with animals. You can hardly find any trees. You will not findpeace as you see here! Do you still want to go to the cit y?”

Without hearing the concerns, Carol asked her grandmother to grant the wish. Grandmother granted her wish but with a condition. Carol was told that she would only have 6 hours to spend in the city. Later, she would return back to the village. Carol agreed.
