说起这个兴趣爱好，还有一段挫折呢！我在读一年级时，一天，一张小巧玲珑的广告送到了妈妈的手里。原来，英语培训班要招生了，妈妈就说：“你也去这个培训班，好吗？”那时，我还打不定主意。去，怕读不好；不去，又怕错过这个时机，以后学英语就跟不上了。回到家，我想了一会儿，理直气壮地对妈妈说：“我不想去！“可妈妈还是打了电话，我瑟瑟发抖，心想：这下，我可就完了。那天晚上，我就学起英语来，没想到这么有趣，心中的石头总算落了下来。就这样，学英语的旅程就开始了……
现在，我还在继续坚持练下去，做什么事都不能半途而废啊！可妈妈说：“学英语已经差不多了，到那里去就是为了培养兴趣，再说，初中还会教这些英语呀！”我心中忐忑不安，英语老师和我们的感情太深了，和我一起度过了快四年的时光。她是一位好老师，为我们付出这么多，还常常带着沙哑的嗓子上课……她做的事是说也说不尽。于是，我说：“我就要这样练下去！”妈妈没办法，只好让我读。
在学校里，同学们都选举我当英语课代表，一年之后，同学们都说：“有你这样的课代表，我们的英语一定能学得越来越好！”我心中充满着无比的愉快，我的英语口才常常得到同学的赞赏。
在一次英语单词竞赛中，我努力地记着单词，认真复习着。比赛开始了，我非常尽力地做着，双眼紧紧地盯着题目，心一直怀着要考出满分的意愿……颁奖典礼开始了，一本艳丽的荣誉证书接过我的手中，打开一看：啊！得了一等奖。这已经很不错了，我鼓励着自己，安慰着自己，虽然没有达到满分，但我尽力了！
