BP- hr trainee

为什么应聘该公司?

你能为公司做些/带来什么?

1. Please tell us why you want to join BP and what you believe you have to offer us.

<200words>

My strong willingness to join BP, as one of the world's largest oil and gas companies, is due to the international platform and career development potential that BP could provide for all her staff. As a new graduate, what I have mentally is genuine passion and abundant energy in the work, in the organization and in the talented people around me. Such mental drive would surely push out of me an impressive contribution to BP. Besides, as an HR trainee, if I manage to be employed, I believe what I have to offer BP at this beginner stage are but definitely not limited to the following two

things: 1) Hard work in my rotation and timely reflection. A devotion to work is a must, from where I can learn as fast as possible and achieve as much as possible so as to contribute my personal effort and time to the HRM of BP. 2) Strong support to related HR projects to be implemented. Though not professional enough at present, I will perform well in assisting other HR partners in their work to relieve their burden as much as possible and to quicken my development for a better service for BP soon.

面对挑战,获得成功的故事

2. Please tell us a story you overcame great challenges and finally achieved your goal.

<200words>

As an HR intern of Goodyear Tire & Rubber (Asia Pacific), I was asked to initiate a regional project of standardizing AP plants’ on-boarding processes. I had no project experience before, and to initiate this across-region project that involved seven Asian countries and five European and American countries was demanding enough. I had no project experience before, and to initiate this across-region project that involved 12 Asian and European countries was demanding enough. To overcome challenges, I firstly read materials on project management to build any project sense. Secondly, I planned the project by Gantt chart, and designed a special template for information collection to make the final summary of best practice easier. Finally, after a discussion with my boss, a three-phase initiation plan was decided on and closely followed.

In implementation, international communications became a big challenge. Since the organizational structure of each plant differed, besides country HR responsibles, I had to directly contact the plant director to get the right name. For European countries that even my boss had little contact with, I still called/mailed to create a relationship for what I wanted. Finally, I managed to collect all required information in a clear-cut format, and summarized the best practice of on-boarding processes in the plants of Asia Pacific.

As an HR intern of Goodyear Tire & Rubber (Asia Pacific), I reported directly to the regional HR Director and was asked to initiate a regional project of standardizing AP plants’ on-boarding processes. I had no project experience before, and to initiate this across-region project that involved seven Asian countries and five European and American countries was demanding enough. To overcome this challenge, I firstly read materials concerning project management to build any project sense. Secondly, I planned the project by use of Gantt chart, and designed a special template for information collection to relieve the country HR workload and to make the final summary of best practice easier. Finally, after a discussion with my boss, a three-phase initiation plan was decided on and closely followed. (We decided on three phases of this initiation, that was to first summarize the best practice among seven AP plants, then selected some successfully managed European and American plants to see how well their best practice were going, and last came a comparison of the above two to decide on the best practice in Asia Pacific in consideration of local business factors, like budget, risk and personnel etc. ) During the implementation stage, international communications became a big challenge. To know the current on-boarding practices in each plant, telephones were called to country HR responsibles, and since the organization structure in plants differed, I had to directly contact plant director to get known the right name. For European countries, they didn’t know me at all, and most of them even didn’t know my boss,

still, I called to create relations with them to get what I wanted for the use of AP plants. The effective communications with people from other countries shows my excellence in communication and problem solving. Finally, I managed to collect all the information required, arranged them in a clear-cut format for my b oss’ reference, and summarized the best practice of on-boarding processes in the plants of Asia Pacific.

I learnt how to arrange the questionnaire forms in a scientific way and use them in the survey of a new beer.

In an investigation of customer opinions about the taste of a new kind of beer, I found that the questionnaire form was out of date and limited the freedom of responses. I consulted my boss and a good friend who works in a professional marketing research company and learnt a new way of arranging questionnaire forms. I also designed two new forms, and my boss chose one of them. Finally, with the help of the converted form, our company obtained more objective and useful information.

I was once asked to initiate a regional proje ct of standardizing AP plants’ on-boarding processes. This across-region project involved 7 Asian countries and 5 European and American countries, and I needed to collect information about the current on-boarding processes in these plants and summarized into best practice for Asia Pacific plants. For me who I had no project experience before, I firstly read materials on project management to build any project sense. Secondly I planned the project by Gantt chart, and designed a special template for information collection to make the final summary of best practice easier. Finally, after a discussion with my boss a three-phase initiation plan was decided on and closely followed. I called/emailed responsibles with international backgrounds to create relationship and managed to collect required information in a clear-cut format, and analytically summarized into the best practice of on-boarding processes in the plants of Asia Pacific.

Each year our school holds a speech contest, and teachers will choose the topics, which seems not attractive for students to attend the contest. As a new member of the school’s students’ union, I wanted to be different, so I decided to put forward my suggestions. i. I proposed three topics: Sell

Yourself; Where I’ll be in 3 Years; Be Competitive. All focus ed on future job hunting and career development, which were believed to be more exciting for students. ii. I surveyed other students and got the information that Sell Yourself seemed better, because it gave us a chance not only to say something, but possibly to sing and dance. My proposal was adopted and welcomed by the students. Over 500 students came to watch the speech contest, double the previous audience size. And the participants said the topic gave them a good opportunity to show off and become more confident.

COCACOLA 可口可乐

<800 character>

1. What are your achievement that you're most proud of?

I’m most proud of my outstanding academic achievement- I ranked top 5% during both my BA and MA school years, and was honored with National Scholarship (top 7‰) and annual first-grade scholarship in the universities. Such excellent performance indicated my diligence, strong competences of logical reasoning and smart learning. More importantly, the very point is that while I performed well in studies, I also participated in clubs and societies, in some of which I even took major responsibilities (e.g. vice-president of students’ union). Also, I worked as intern in some MNCs during summer vacation to accumulate work experience. Such rich social experiences plus my academic achievement strongly demonstrated my ability to balance life and study and my potential to be a good MT in future.

2. What attracted you to apply for management trainee position in the Coca-Cola company?

I select Coca-Cola for the great platform that she can provide me for career start-up, and I select MT position is a consideration of my personal traits and career interests. I label myself as a quick learner, logical thinker and proactive doer, and I have passion in managing people and business to see their growth. However, as a fresh graduate, and with no special management background but interest, I know I have a long way to go. Attending MT position in Coca-Cola would be a golden chance, since I saw from the website a very comprehensive training plan for MTs, and I also heard from some graduates their experiences as MT, so I believe the position would effectively push me forward in a quicker way to develop myself in a way that I could better serve Coca-Cola at the management level.

3. Where would you like to be in five years from now from both individual and professional perspective?

As an individual, I would like to get married in five years and to form a happy family that would be a good support for my career development. As for my specific career goal in my year, I expect to become a professional specializing in my field, and can take independent responsibility for some big projects of Coca-Cola Bottling.

4. Why do you think you are qualified for Commercial or SC management trainee position?

A look at my personal traits would demonstrate my qualification. I am a quick learner, logical thinker and proactive doer with excellent academic achievements and rich experiences in students’ union and other societies, where I built up my leadership and team work spirits in many activities.

I had well-performed internship in MNCs that demonstrated my ability to work under international environment. What’s more important is my ambition and willingness to develop in FMCG industry. That’s the key point.

Pernod Ricard Group保乐力加within 350w

1. Please list top 3 influencing factors of your career choice and why.

1) The influence of corporate branding in its industry. As my career starting point, I choose a mature and international company since it provides a broader platform and vision for my future development.

2) My potential growth path. Whether the MT program is well planned and implemented after I enter the company is my another concern.

3) The suitability of my traits with the company and the position. If my personality is incompatible with the corporate culture, then I won’t be comfortable with my work and my team. So, I value the culture as well.

2. Please choose one product of Pernod Ricard Group, which you think could fully represent yourself and why.

Chivas Regal represents me in a full way. Chivas Regal whiskies have performed well at international Spirit ratings competitions. That’s the same as me that I have achieved greatly in my academic studies as a students. I won the National Scholarship and first-grade scholarship for each school year, and ranked top in my area. Also, as a blended Scotch whisky, the natural sweetness of Chivas Regal is indicative of my personal traits as easy-going and unmannered. The campaign 'Live with Chivalry' created by the Euro RSCG advertising agency in 2009 is another impressive point for me to notice since I sell myself all the time, just like this application for Pernod Ricard Group as a marketing trainee.

艾克森美孚position:. Customer Service Representative

1. Please describe the learning from the most unforgettable experience you have had in the last 5 years.

In my last internship at an MNC (Apr~Aug, 2012), I learned that ways of effective communications depend on cultures. In an international work environment, one should take different approaches to associates with different cultural background. My task was then to drive 2012 performance management process. Since the completion deadline was close, I was asked to send mails to those in office whose PMP were still unfinished. Surprisingly, Mfg Director, a Latin-American, replied that he would like me to help him complete the form at 7 am the weekends. That sounded an illogical arrangement for an intern. I didn’t realize that was a sarcastic joke until my boss, also a Latin-American Australian, saw the mail I forwarded to him. My boss kindly told me that the mail actually showed dissatisfaction with my request as an intern, and the better way was to kindly talk with the associate face-to-face about the issue, because for Westerners in North America, they enjoyed face-to-face communication, or at least telephone calls to build up relationship, rather than too many mails used by Asian people even when the people sit close.

2. Please give an example on how your personal attributes have helped you in the past.

I am a proactive, result-oriented, and logical Able to work independently and as a team player

<重写>

I am a proactive doer, eager learner, good communicator and logical thinker. As an HR intern at a MNC, I actively took responsibility for initiating a regional project of standardizing AP plants’ on-boarding processes. Without project experience before, to initiate such a across-region project that involved seven Asian countries and five European and American countries was demanding. To create any project sense, I crammed materials on project management and asked advice from my colleagues. Finally, I planned the project by Gantt chart, and designed a special template for information collection to make the final summary of best practice easier. In implementation, international communications became a big challenge. Considering the different organizational structure of each plant, I had to directly contact either the plant director or country HR responsibles to get the right name. For European countries that even my boss had little contact with, I still called/mailed to create a relationship for what I wanted. Based on the large amount of collected information, I logically arranged all that in a clear-cut format to see their similarities and differences, and summarized the best practice of on-boarding processes in the plants of Asia Pacific.

3. Please provide any other information which will be relevant to us in assessing your suitability for employment with us.

<走题了。还是可以说固特异的那个项目的例子.回答2.的,因为走题,就粘到3.上了> First, I am such a good logical thinker that I performed well in my academic studies (honored with National Scholarship and ranked top 1), and my strong analytic abilities also helped me in my problem solving. Second, I am eager to learn more, to see more and to experience more, so in my school years I extensively read books on psychology, management, finance, economy etc., and I actively participated in extracurricular activities and summer internship to broaden my vision and to form my own understanding of the world. Third, I am more of a courageous doer than a sayer, and this personal attribute helped me become what I am today. Instead of daydreaming, I realized my ideas, dreams, and promises in action, and instead of hesitating over something, I always stood out to take the responsibility (e.g. in a team).

It is a two-way selection. First, as the leader in global auto industry, Daimler will definitely provide me with an international platform for future development in the industry. I believe in my professional skills and competencies to help the company achieve the goals.

2. What makes you qualified for the position?

(1)Outstanding academic achievement – I ranked top 5% during both my BA and MA school

E-commerce is to do business online, rather than in a physical site. It’s a change of business platform, and now C2C, B2C, and B2B are three major business models in this field. So far, e-commerce has won positive public recognition by the majority of society, but still more efforts should be made to improve the online shopping experience so as to retain more customers. Nivea

1. What's the most important thing in your life? why? (Please answer in English)

The most important thing in my life as of now is finding a satisfying job that could provide me a platform to grow and develop.

Once I officially step out of the school and into the society, the most important thing in my life will be excelling at my position. That calls for hard work, smart learning, and proactive actions and creation.

After I have a family and a baby that might be in 4~ 5 years’ time, the most important thing then will be balancing work and family well.

But overall, the most important thing in my life is experiencing new things and learning no matter I am eighteen or eighty. That process forms a complete circle of real life.

2. Describe a situation where you had to influence/guide others through a difficult situation to achieve certain result (involving for example a lack of resources or time pressure.) What specific actions did you take? What was the feedback from others? What would you do differently in the future? 领导力,影响力

I once organized a group to sing English choir on Choir Eve. At the beginning, I suggested the idea to the Chairman of our English Association and got his approval. Then, I asked each member of our association to offer at least three suggestions on each of the questions below: What songs to play? Who could join the choir? and Where should we perform? I then combined the other team members’ suggestions with my idea and made a decision on the questions above. Meanwhile, to attract participants, I visited nearly all the dormitories in our university to persuade students and sent Christmas gifts on behalf of our English Association. After all these preparations, I began the organization of the rehearsals. I reminded the singers of each rehearsal time and place with short messages, because our singers were indeed busy and they could forget, and I also tried my best to make each rehearsal as lively as possible to make the singers feel the atmosphere of Christmas, and thus to motivate them to sing with emotion.

As a result, many students said that they were happily surprised by our activity and anticipated such activities next Christmas. Even some said they would love to join our association to learn the beautiful choir.

3. Tell me about a situation in which you made efforts to gain your classmates’ trust. How did you handle the situation? What exactly did you do to gain their trust? Did you have to overcome any specific obstacles? How did you overcome them? What was the outcome? What would you do differently if the same situation were to occur again?

I proposed a plan to hold an English Corner in collaboration with English majors from a neighboring university. At that time, I was Study Secretary of my class, and I realized that my classmates had little chance to practice their spoken English in everyday life. In the regular English Corner that was held university-wide, our English majors always had an embarrassing situation that we always had a relatively higher level than others, and that couldn’t effectively help the students improve their English. So I proposed my idea with the classmates. At the beginning, classmates showed little confidence in the success of such an activity for three reasons: (1) There were too many English corners; an other one was unnecessary; (2) It’s hard to coordinate between two universities, including the transportation, the time and the participants; (3) the school responsible would not agree. To gain classmates’ trust, I actively took the responsibility as the organizer and coordinator. Firstly, I suggest the idea to our head teacher and got his approval. Secondly, I got contact with the President of Students’ Union of English Department of the neighboring university via an acquaintance, and since she was also the monitor of a class, so I discussed with her about my idea. She agreed and together with me, we planned attractive topics and timeframe so as to make our Corner more interesting and practical than others. Thirdly, after a survey among classmates, we decided to run the activity every fortnight, and we went to each other’s school once. In this way, classmates got the fair chance to communicate and broaden their views out of the campus.

As a result, my full preparations and my detailed plans persuaded my classmates. They were convinced, and we successfully founded the English Corner. Later on, even students from other classes came to join us. It not only provided the chance to practice English, but also broadened our social circles. I would do the same if the same situation occurred.

MTR香港地铁

1.What is your long-term career goal? How do you see yourself in 5 Years? (Within 200 words) My long-term career goal is to become a leader in a certain field and industry. Generally, I will take three steps to achieve that goal: the fast learning and growing period (2-3 years), the practice period (4-5 years) and the expert period (7-10 years). Specifically, the first five years will see my every effort and pro-activity to learn, practice, and grow; and in 5 years, I believe after a three-year Graduate Trainee Programme, I will be competent enough to take up formal placement at senior supervisory level in one of the Mainland hubs. Meanwhile, I may choose to take MBA courses to reflect on these experiences, to broaden my vision and to know more about the new ideas and trends of management. Then in 7-10 years, I believe I can grow into a qualified leader for MTR business hubs in the Mainland.

2.Why have you selected MTR? How are you going to contribute to our Corporation? (Within 200 words)

Three considerations push my selection of MTR. Firstly, the great chance to develop with MTR in its business hubs in the Mainland, whose system of transportation is on the way of development. The sound Graduate Trainee Programme is promising enough and sheds light on my big career potential. Secondly, the great platform that MTR could provide. 国际纸业

1. How do you think about the future of Paper & Packaging Industry? Why you choose International Paper as your first employer?

Against the background of Internet development, the future of Paper & Packaging Industry is both promising and challenging. On the one hand, it is promising because the fast development of online commerce results in piles of goods that have to be well packaged for delivery. On the other hand, it is meanwhile challenging because the popularity of the Internet as well as electronic products hasten the process that those originally printed paper products (e.g. books, newspaper) are gradually being displayed by their electronic versions. The concept of environmentalism would also affect the industry if no efforts are to be made in the improvement of technology.

My preference for IP as my first employer, is first of all a consideration of its international platform, which suggests a great development potential. Second, the top status of IP in the Paper & Packaging industry is another consideration. I would like to be the top in my industry so I would like to choose the top brand as my starting point.

2. For the purpose of people development, we would assign young t alent to different location business unit. How do you think about relocation? What's your first priority of job location? (Please list Top Three)

I view relocation as a great chance to experience and learn. As young talent who is ambitious enough, I welcome relocation, through which I can really understand the overall business strategies of the company and therefore can better serve the goals of the company. For me, the top three locations are Shanghai, Wuhan and Guangzhou.

3. How do you view yourself as a professional in five years?

In five years' time, I would like to become an HR professional, with not only related working experiences and expertise, but also a deep understanding and correct judgment of the industry itself. I would play a major role in an HR project, and give professional ideas when necessary. My ability to lead people has been cultured during the past five years so that I will be qualified enough to be a leader in some way.

4. How do you expect to keep yourself motivated at work?

I'm always a motivated individual. The key for me to keep myself motivated is to set goals that go beyond your current competence. I am indeed a goal-oriented and result-driven person. I don't like to stay in my comfort zone, but to continuously work and study to reach my limit if there is any. My life cannot go without goals; otherwise, I see no reason for living in the world. That' how I motivate myself all these years.

1. Why do you apply for Unilever Management Trainee Program and why do you think you are suitable for the function applied? (150-200 words)

For the fir st “why” question,my preference for Unilever is a consideration of its international platform, which suggests a great development potential, and its top rank in FMCG industry. I’m longing to be the top so I would like to choose the top brand as my starting point.

For the second “why” question,my prior experiences as an HR intern instill confidence in my suitability for this function. These meritorious HR experiences raise my belief in my competences for this position. Firstly, I am a good communicator with people, which is reflected in my rich and successful experience in students’ union and clubs, and more importantly, I care about people— I have the desire to develop people and see how their growth contributes to the development of the whole company. I am fond of sharing delicious food with people. Since I’m a fan of Unilever products and I want to share them with more people. I want more people can enjoy those high-quality products and stick to using them. I have passion for this. In addition, I have good interpersonal communication skills and strong analytical ability. 2. What does Sustainability mean to the business and yourself? (150-200 words) Sustainability is the key for a corporate that was “built to last”. It is easy to stand out for ten years, but hard to rank top for next, next, next… ten years. Business has to in the very core rely on PEOPLE to keep its sustainability. Also, sustainability relates to CSR of a company. It helps businesses of all kinds thrive whilst playing a positive role in the move towards a fairer society that's in harmony with the planet.

For me, I appreciate the old saying that “It’s never too late to learn.”, and I always define myself as a lifelong learner. Only in this way can I have sustainable growth and growing competitiveness.

I read extensively in my past years, covering such topics as HRM, Finance, Economics, Psychology etc. I also tried my best to experience as much as possible in clubs, students’ union, international companies, private firms etc. The accumulated knowledge and experiences are helpful for my future sustainability. But that’s never ever enough. To achieve sustainable development, I will go on with my career in Unilever by continuously learning and experiencing.
