Years ago, if a teenager had some problems in his life, he might go home and write in his diary; now, a teenager with36problems might go onto the Internet and write about them in a blog(博客) . In many ways, a diary and a blog are very 37; But what make bolgging different from writing in a(n) 38diary?

The biggest difference is that a blog is much more 39 than a diary. Usually , a teenager treats his diary like a book full of 40that he does not want to41with others.

It’ s interesting that someone who writes in a blog 42 a diary will probably write nearly the same information.

Then, after I had finished writing, I would hide my diary in a secret place

because I was46that my sister might read it.

The biggest47with blogging is that anyone can read what you write. If I was angry with a friend during high school and wrote something48about him in my diary, he would never know.49 , if my sister ever wrote something bad about a friend, that friend might50her blog and get angry.

There are also51to blogging, of course. If I was feeling sad one day and wrote in my

diary,” Nobody cares about me” . because no one52 wouldabout it. However, if my sister wrote the same sentence in her blog, her best friend would quickly53and tell her how much they54her. Blog help people 55in contact with their friend and know what the people around them are doing.

"It ’s over! Thank goodness!"

School was over and I was tired. I sat at the front of the school bus.

Janie, the driver, always tries to break the uncomfortable atmosphere by talking. I try to listen politely, but usually I’m too busy thinking about my day. On this day, however, her talk was worth listening to.

"My father ’s ill," she said to no one in particular. I could see worry in her eyes. I had never seen her like this before. She always meets students with a smile.

With a sudden chance of interest, I asked, "What’s wrong with him?"

With her eyes wet and her voice unusual, she answered, "Heart trouble. " Her eyes lowered as she continued, "I’ve already lost my mum, so I don ’tthink I can stand losing him." I couldn ’tanswer. My heart ached for her.

I sat on the seat thinking of the great pain my own mother was thrown into when her father died.

I saw how hard it was, and still is, for her. I wouldn’twant anyone to go through that.

Suddenly I realized Janie wasn ’tonly a bus driver, which was just her job. She had a whole world of family and cares too.

I shouldn ’thave been so selfish. I paid no attention to Janie because she was a bus driver. I had judged her by her job and brushed her off as unimportant.

I shouldn ’thave been so selfish and self-centered.Understanding people is an art.

C. sits on her seat without words

D. meets them with a smile

61.After she learned Janie’s story, the writer thought of__________.

B.understanding the people around us takes time

C.we should learn to understand the people around us

D. it ’s not right to judge the people around us by their clothes

C

Perhaps a parent’s most important contribution toward raising a trustful child is to develop a relationship

founded on trust. A child of any age will feel proud and grown-up if parents frequently show their trust. In court

a defendant(被告 ) is innocent until proved guilty. But in the family, a teenager “ defendant is ”too often assumed guilty.

Even when the child is caught in a complete lie, this should not be the end of trust. A parent can tell a

child that a single lie is forgivable. Yet it should be clear that if lies continue, the child, like the boy who cried

wolf, will suffer loss of trust.

When my wife and I discovered that our son Tom, then 13, had lied about throwing a party while we were away, we grounded him for a month. We also told Tom that we could no longer trust him, and we could not

allow him to stay alone overnight again. This loss of freedom was an important lesson; he learned how hard it

is to live with people when they don ’ttrust him. As a result, now more than three years later we can again

trust Tom to stay alone overnight.

Parents must always remember there is no easy answer to this universal problem of lying. We can set a

good example, allow for privacy, monitor friendship, develop trust and punish wrong doing, but still we

discover our child has lied to us. Finally that’s why there is a need for trust on both sides of a parent-child

relationship. Lying destroys closeness and friendship. For that reason, parents should always try to give a child

the feeling that they can be trusted with the truth. Parents may start with a child’s trust, but as the child grows

older, parents must earn it.

64. When the writer and his wife discovered that their son had lied, they _________.

A . took him from all his freedom

B . decided that they could never trust him again

C. forbade him to stay alone overnight for more than three years

D. arranged for him to live with people who do not trust him for more than three years

65. We can infer from the passage that very often ________.

A . parents don’ttrust their child as they should

B . defendants are usually proved not guilty in court

C. parents have too much trust in their child D . some children are founded guilty in court

66. According to the passage, the writer believes that _____________.

A . parents shouldn ’tpunish their children even if they lie

B . it is not easy to deal with the problem of lying as parents

C. there are many effective ways to prevent children from lying

D. a child will stop telling lies as he grows up

67. What does the underlined word“ground”mean in the passage?

A . To teach someone the basic things they should know in order to be able to do something.

B . To stop a child going out with their friends as a punishment for behaving badly.

C. To put someone on the ground and beat him.

D. To ask someone to stay on the ground and not to move.

A typical Chinese Internet user is a young male who prefers instant messaging to e-mail, favors news,

music and games sites and seldom makes online purchases(购物) . According to a study, about two-thirds

of survey participants use the Internet for news — often entertainment-related — or for online games.

About half download music and movies.

They also tend to prefer instant messaging to e-mail, and they are depending on the Internet more

frequently than before to communicate with others who have the same professions, hobbies and political

interests. Online purchases still remain unpopular in China. Three-quarters of users surveyed have never

bought anything over the Internet, and only 10 percent make purchases even once a month. Among those

software.

a store and don t like it, they can easily bring it back.

The survey was done in five major cities: Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu and Changsha.

Results do not necessarily project countrywide because Internet use in rural areas is lower than in cities.

Guo describes the typical netizen in the five cities surveyed as young, male, richer and more highly

educated. Males make up two-thirds of the Internet community, and more than 80 percent of users are

under 24. Among people ages 25 to 29, 60 percent to 80 percent go online.

China has more than 100 million people online, second in the world to the United States.

Educating girls quite possibly harvests a higher rate of return than any other investment available in the developing world. Women's education may be an unusual field for economists (经济学家 ), but

increasing women's contribution to development is actually as much an economic as a social issue. And

economics, with its focus on encouragement, provides an explanation for why so many girls are rid of an

education.

Parents in low-income countries fail to invest in their daughters because they do not expect them to make an economic contribution to the family: girls grow up only to marry into somebody else's family and

bear children. Girls are thus seen as less valuable than boys and are kept at home to do housework while

their brothers are sent to school -- the prophecy (预言 ) becomes self-fulfilling, trapping women in a vicious

circle ( 恶性循环 ) of neglect.

作文:Is daily homework necessary?

Recently our school students have had a discussion about whether it is necessary to have daily homework.

Different students have different opinions.

Seventy percent of the students are willing to accept daily homework. They think homework

helps them review and practice what has been taught in class . Besides,by doing daily homework,

students can better understand their lessons . Furthermore , their skills in managing time can also be

improved through homework .

However, thirty percent of the students have different opinions. They believe homework reduces their

amount of leisure time with their families, not to mention the time for other activities. With a lot of homework

to do , students feel tired , and will gradually lose interest in their lessons.

In my opinion, daily homework is necessary, but it must be fit for a student. Also, the amount’s ofability homework should be limited ,for a student-’aroundsall development is more important than anything else in his

高二年级半月考试卷(英语) 使用时间:2015年4月2日测试时间: 90分钟总分: 120分 第一部分阅读理解(共两节,满分40分) 第一节(共15小题;每小题2分,满分30分) A A woman who lived in a coma(昏迷)for 42 years, unendingly cared for by her family, died Wednesday in her home in Miami Gardens, Fla. Edwarda O’Bara was a 17-year-old high school student in 1970 when she became sick from her diabetes(糖尿病)medication and slipped into a diabetic coma. Just before she lost consciousness, Edwarda asked her mother, Kaye O’Bara, to never leave her side, and her family never d id. Edwarda’s father, Joe O’Bara, and Kaye took care of their daughter—reading to her, playing her music, making sure she was turned every two hours, bathed, given insulin(胰岛素)and given nourishment through a feeding tube—until their deaths in 1976 and 2008, respectively. After that, Edwarda’s sister Colleen O’Bara took over. Her family’s unending care for her became a story told across the world. And visitors from across the world traveled to the Miami Gardens home every year, sometimes appearing at the doorstep on random days, other times for Edwarda’s yearly birthday party, a cheerful affair with decorations, balloons and cake. Through it all, Edwarda remained in a coma. But to her family and followers she remained alive. Colleen O’Bara described her as “the best sister in the whole wide world.” “She taught me so much, especially after she was in the coma, ” Colleen O’Bara said, “She taught me so much about unconditional love that I couldn’t say I had it before.
