首先来说说travel，它泛指长途旅行、走访多地的旅行，往往是即兴的。
而journey 这个词，应用范围很广, 指“有预定地点的陆上、水上或空中的单程长、短途旅行”, 一般来说, 它着重指“长距离的陆上的旅行”, 来看看它的英文释译：(distance covered in) travelling, usually by land, from one place to another, often far away。例如: Tom decided to make a journey to Amsterdam by air.汤姆决定乘飞机去阿姆斯特丹。当然也常出现在短语中，例如一些诗人喜欢把人生比做成长途旅行，这时候我们会说：Life is a long long journey。同时在生活中我们会说一堆行前吉利话儿比如：have a good （pleasant）journey 表达一路顺风和平安。当然也可以用make a journey to 来表示到某地儿旅行。
