SIMOTION Line Axis
Introduction
Introduction Contents of the Application Scope of Functionality Function Block Overview
The application SIMOTION Line Axis was developed with the objective to provide general axis control functionality by using one function block. If required, the application can be configured and/or also changed. Using the SIMOTION control platform the application “SIMOTION Line Axis” allows general axis functionality to be implemented in a wide range of applications, e.g. foil making machines, printing machines, coating machines, traversing applications and more. Can be combined with other applications like: SIMOTION Winder SIMOTION Splice Control SIMOTION Traversing Drive SIMOTION Rotary Knife SIMOTION Flying Saw

Manual mode (Jog)
Movement in positive or negative direction Velocity, acceleration and two decelerations (e.g. for normal stop and quick stop) can be defined
Position mode
Absolute or relative positioning Target position / distance, velocity, acceleration and two decelerations (e.g. for normal stop and quick stop) can be defined
Homing mode
Incremental encoders Active homing (e.g. zero mark of the measuring system) Set position (actual position is set to the home position coordinate) Absolute encoder Actual position of the axis is set to the home position coordinate of the absolute encoder ? Siemens AG 2010. All Rights Reserved.
