一．烟台市概况
烟台市地处山东半岛东部，濒临黄海、渤海，与辽东半岛及日本、韩国、朝鲜隔海相望。烟台市辖4区、1县、7个县级市和国家级经济技术开发区、保税港区、高新技术产业园区，面积1.37万平方公里，人口650万，是环渤海经济圈的重要城市，也是连接京津经济圈、长三角和东北亚经济圈的交通物流枢纽城市，是沟通日韩的门户城市。烟台着力培育信息技术及智能制造、商贸服务、医疗康养、产业金融、文教旅游、海洋经济六大战略性新兴产业。优先发展生产性服务业，做强做大金融、现代物流、商务服务、文化创意、科技信息五大板块；改造提升生活性服务业，升级改造旅游、商贸餐饮、房地产、养老养生、社区服务五个领域。
About Yantai

million and five hundred thousand. It is an important city of Bohai Economic rim and an important city connecting Beijing-Tianjin Economic Circle, Yangtze River Delta, and North and East Aisa. It is also a gateway city to commuincate with Japan and South Korea.

About Zhifu
As the core district of Yantai Zhi Fu covers an area of 180 sqare kilometers,in which there are twelve streets, two provincial level industrial park, one hundred and forty one urban communities, and twenty six suburb communites.The residenet population is one million and two hundred and forty thousand which made up of 45% of the population in central urban area. 2017 GDP of Zhi Fu is forty seven billion two hundred million, tax revenue eighteen billion one hundred and eighty six million, General Public Budget Revenue six billion three hundred and thirty six million. Its economy is the top one compared with the rest districts of Yantai.
名称由来
烟台市芝罘区是中国历史上最早的外洋通商口岸之一，因其北部的中国最大、世界最典
型的陆连岛----芝罘岛而得名，世界权威的《大不列颠百科全书》中标称烟台即为"CHEFOO"。"芝"即灵芝。芝罘岛的形状，恰似一株巨大的灵芝;"罘"即屏障。芝罘岛横卧在黄海之中，似
一道天然屏障，护卫着身后的沃土。也就是说这个岛有"灵芝"一样的形状，有"罘"一样的作用，因此称之为"芝罘岛"。
芝罘，古称之罘。"罘"是古代的一种猎具，看岛子的形势，一线连陆，环岛临海，正是
围猎的好去处，它的得名，很可能与狩猎有关。这地方得名大大地早于烟台。春秋战国时，齐国曾修八主庙，其中的阳主庙就修在芝罘岛上。到后来，秦始皇和汉武帝东巡，都到这岛
上来举行过祭祀的仪式。
