——句子阅读新思维

作为一位十多年来扎根在大学英语课堂教学第一线和专门从事国内英语测试研究的老师,我经常问自己这样一个问题:为什么如此多的考生在考试征途中败下阵来?难道是他们意志力不够坚定?难道是他们天生愚钝?或者难道是他们基本功太过薄弱?凭着丰富的考研英语辅导和教学经验,我们发现,多数同学在准备复习考研之初,就已经注定了考研是一场 “重在参与”的游戏,因为他们在复习之前,脑海中根本就没有一个科学合理的复习计划,从来不思考选择更适合自己的复习方式,更多的人选择了盲目的 “题海战术”,他们从第一天起就已经走上了“劳而无获”的不归路,从而受到“盲目的惩罚”。

其实任何考试,基本功是重要的。考研也不例外,尤其是英语考试,而英语考试中阅读得分尤为关键。可以说,英语阅读的基本功是取得阅读高分的重要保证。但现状是,广大考生由于英语阅读量少(大三、大四学年基本没有开设大学英语课),因而造成很多学生阅读理解能力停滞不前,总感觉自己的阅读能力明显不足。

我们从教学中发现,阅读最大的障碍在于对长句、复杂句的理解和把握。文章读不懂,其实就在于难词长句。在考研阅读中出现30至50个词汇长度的句子早已是司空见惯。对于大多数同学而言,个别单词不认识并不会造成语义理解上的障碍(词汇量太小除外),但如果词汇量太小,那句子阅读一定是寸步难行。事实上,很多同学句子阅读水平停留在这样一个阶段:单词是认识了,但如果字数一多,结构一复杂,句义理解起来就很慢、很吃力,或根本不理解,从而导致整个段落、篇章理解出现障碍。

不见高山不显平地,事实上,不提高句子阅读基本功,就不能理解句子的意思,就不能理解句子之间的逻辑关系,也就不能掌握段落的中心、文章的中心及结构,更不能真正享受到读懂考研文章的乐趣,体会不到做题时的轻松感。

实际上,基础薄弱经过一年努力而考上名校的大有人在。无论是基础薄弱与否,都应该一开始对自身的英语水平做出准确的评价和定位,继而有针对性地拿出复习方案。对于基础不太好的同学自然应该加强句子结构的学习,掌握句子阅读的方法,学会如何快速地理清句子的主干部分,只有这样才能切实提高自己的阅读、翻译和写作能力,否则决胜考研就是一句空话。正所谓“得句子者得阅读,得阅读者得天下”。
