一、英文简历的种类

英语简历是用英语来介绍自己的个人资料、学历、工作经历、能力、业绩、性格、业余爱好等情况的书面报告,这是求职就业时相当关键的资料。英语简历有好几个词可以用来表达,譬如Resume、Curriculum Vitae 、Personal History 等。

在英国中,英语简历多用Curriculum Vitae( 通常缩写为CV) 来表示。在美国英语中,以前一般用Personal History ,偶尔也用Data Sheet ,不过现在则通用Resume这个单词。由于美国英语在世界的影响力,所以友求职最好用Resume。另外,Resume —词来源于法语,因此你应聘由法国人投资的公司时也可以适用。

1、中式英文简历如果中英文简历一起递交,建议中文不写政治面貌,因为如果去外企工作,背景中的政治色彩越少越好,起码没必要让老外知道。身高、体重等因为属于特别隐私性的内容在向外资求职时,就不必写了,写了显得不了解国外文化。

2. 港式英文简历香港出版的简历书写技巧书籍中都要求写年龄、婚否,报纸的招聘广告中还要求求职者写上工资现状及预期工资,这些都属于隐私问题,美式简历则不要求提供这些信息。

3. 英式英文简历很接近港式,但个人资料没有港式说得那么多,篇幅长但不详细,我们这里不做过多评论。

4. 美式英文简历国际大公司中比较流行,一页纸,是我们重点参考的样式。美式简历书写格式也有很多种,本站为大家所介绍的英文简历式样都是美国大公司中比较流行的,如华尔街的投资银行、大的咨询公司、工业公司、制造业公司、营销业公司等都采用这种式样; 同时还参考了三个名牌学校哈佛商学院、沃顿商学院和哥伦比亚商学院的简历样本,式样大同小异,这里主要以哈佛商学院的为主。

二、英文简历的格式

英文简历的格式结构一般包括页眉部分、教育背景、工作经历和个人资料四部分。如果已经有全职工作了,一定把工作经历放在第二; 如果您目前还是在校学生,应该把教育背景放在第二。

1、英文简历页眉部分

1) 、求职人名字对于求职人名字有很多种写法,不过采用国际通用的写法比较妥当,即“名在前姓在后” 。譬如求职人的名字为杜军军,用“ Junjun DU就比用“ Du Junjun ” 要好,这样也很方便招聘人员,尤其是人事部经理为人。另外,在平时中发现有少部分人国人采用外国人的姓,如Mary Smith ,本人觉得非常不可取的。因为

如果你用外国人的姓,别人会认为你是外国人,或者你父亲是外国人,或者你嫁给了外国人。

2) 、英文简历地址很多人觉得写地址时在“北京”再

写“”显得多余,他们认为“谁不知道北京是的呀! ”但一个完整的地址、全球畅通的邮址应该是加国名的,但“”英文最好别用“ PRC,因为用“ China ”简单清楚。另外,由E 编的标准写法应该是放在省名与国名之间,即放在“China ”

之前。

3) 、电话写法很有讲究,人名片中的电话经常写得不

清楚、不专业,有以下五点提醒大家注意

A、电话号码前一定要加地区号,如(8610)。因为您是在向外国公司求职,您的简历很可能被传真到伦敦、纽约,大家不知道您的地区号,也没有时间去查,如果另一位求职者的电话有地区号,招聘者很可能先和这个人沟通。

B、8 个号码之间最好加一个“” ,如,便于拨号。

C、区号后的括号和号码间加空格,女口(8610)。这是英

文写作格式的规定,很多人忽略了,甚至不知道。

D、写手机或者向别人通报手机时,也有一定的规范,要用

“ 344 原则”,如“”。

E、传真号千万不要留办公室的,免得办公室的同事都知道你想

跳槽,最好留家里的传真号。

2、教育背景

1) 、时间要倒序,最近的学历情况要放在最前面。

2) 、学校名要大写并加粗,这样便于招聘者迅速识别您的学历。

3) 、地名右对齐,全部大写并加粗。

4) 、关于学历。如果正在学习,用Candidate for 开头比较严谨; 如果已经毕业,可以把学历名称放在最前。

5) 、社会工作担任班干部,只写职务就可以了,不必写年月和工作详情。

6) 、奖学金。一般用一句话概括。如果有多个,也争

取用一句话概括。但如果是学生简历,则可以多写一点。

7) 、成绩。如果不是前十名,建议不写。因为如果排在十名之外,感觉您不是一个优秀的学生。一旦写上,有些人会穷追不舍地猛问,让你尴尬。

3、工作经历

首先要再次强调一下,对于正在工作的人,Experience 应写在Education 的前面,而对于在校生Education 则应放在Experience 之前。写时间时应注意:

1) 、目前的工作要最先写,左侧写时间,如写成1997present 。此外更要注意拼写,不要把“ present ”写成

“ president ”,这种拼写错误要避免。

2) 、以前的工作,只写年份,如。这样的写法主要适于以下三种情况:一是工作时间较早; 二是工作时间在两年以上; 三是旨在巧妙地拉长工作时间。例如,如果您曾于1997

年12 月到1998 年1 月就职于某家公司,虽然只有短短两个月,但写成就显得工作时间较长,同时也没撒谎。

4、个人资料可以介绍个人业余爱好等内容。
