Task 2 具体段落写作-例子一.开头段写作真题举例:Should animals be used in testing new drugs and procedures?Sample 1:Medical research involving animals has dramatically improved the health of the human race.(paraphrase)Without animal testing, the cure for polio would not exist and diabetics would suffer or die from their disease.(one side)Despite these benefits, some people believe that animals should not be used for testing medical techniques and drugs.(opposite side)This essay will outline the advantages of animal testing.(thesis)Sample 2:Every year, millions of animals undergo painful suffering or death as a result of scientific research into the effects of drugs, food additives, cosmetics and other chemical products.(paraphrase)While most people think animal testing is necessary,(one side) others are upset by what they see as needless suffering.(opposite side)This essay looks at some of the positive and negative aspects of animal testing. (thesis)Sample 3:Today, it is not uncommon to use animals for experimentation purposes in medical research or cosmetics business.(paraphrase)In this essay, I will look at the pros and cons of animal testing. (thesis)二.主体段落写作(一) 立论段写作I how to explain an idea真题举例:Topic: Should governments continue to finance public schools?Viewpoint: Governments should continue to finance public schools.Main body 1:First and foremost, government funding of public schools gives many children, especially those economically disadvantaged, opportunities to get proper education. Not all parents can afford to send their children to private schools because of the increasing tuition fees. Through this way, public schools play an important role in the society. They give more children opportunities to get proper education since these schools are cheaper and more affordable.Main body 2:Moreover,having sufficient funding means the ability to hire excellent teachers for public schools. If governments continue funding public schools, then these schools will have sufficient budget to pay for top caliber teaching staff. Excellent teachers do not come cheap most of the time. Their experience and knowledge should be well-comprehended. In other words, their salaries should be commensurate with their academic achievement.II How to give examples and facts真题举例:Topic: Do the negative influences of media outweigh its positive ones?Body paragraph:Sometimes, discussing the merits and demerits of the various forms of media is extremely complex. By this I mean the same thing can be both bad and good. For example, many people worry about the violence in TV programs and their effect on young people.Conversely, many people consider that these same programs are an opportunity for us to release our stronger emotions, our feelings of anger or anxiety.真题举例:Topic: With the increasing use of mobile phones and computers, less people tend to write letters. Some people even think the skill of writing letters will disappear completely. To what extent do you agree or disagree?Body paragraph:In spite of all this, there are certain occasions when letters are still the number one choice. The wedding invitations always seem more formal and sincere if hand-written; holiday cards with ink will often delight us more; and a carefully written love letter may intrigue or move your beloved one more easily. So letter writing is still necessary even in this Internet era andsometimes unique with its physical being as against other virtual forms of communication. Clearly, there is still a place for the hand-written letter and there is no evidence that this place will be taken by technology in the future.III How to make comparison and contrast1. 过去与现在的对比真题举例:Topic: The advantages and disadvantages of performing daily tasks online. Body paragraph:It is clear that fulfilling some tasks without seeing people face to face is highly efficient. In the past,if we needed to buy something, we had to go to the shopping mall, but nowadays all can be done with a click of a mouse and the goods will be delivered home, even at a lower price. And if we want to make a transaction from one bank account to another, we do not have to go directly to a bank and wait for a desperately long queue; instead we may comfortably make use of the self-banking service at home provided access to the Internet. Thus, efficiency of work and life has been both highly improved owing to the technological advances.2. 反面假设真题举例:Topic: The importance of learning computer technologyBody paragraph:It is important that college students should learn adequate computer skills. This is an information age where the Internet is a master key to almost all the knowledge and information available. So a good understanding of the computer technology will give a student an edge in the society today. On the other hand, if one has little knowledge of computer skills, the student will probably lag behind the times, in danger of being excluded from what is going on in the world.3. 对比事物真题举例:Topic: Is the city life a better choice for children?Body paragraph:What is more, children can enjoy a more colorful life in cities. There are various cultural activities organized and more advanced facilities available for children to enjoy, such as exhibitions, galleries, museums and theaters. Therefore, in cities children are much more experienced and knowledgeable than those in the country, who live a simple and monotonous life and tend to be more unenlightened for lack of adequate information.IV How to classifySample 1真题举例:Topic: Send children to boarding schools or day schools?Viewpoint: Children should be sent to boarding schools.Body paragraph:Boarding schools are ideal for parents whose work takes them aboard or who are otherwise unable to offer t heir children a “normal” home life after school and at weekends. The children are looked after by professionals and the children learn to be independent of their parents from an early age.Sample 2真题举例:Topic: Some people argue that teaching children of different abilities together benefits all of them. Others believe that intelligent children should be taught separately and given special treatment. Discuss both views and how do you think about it.Viewpoint: Students should be taught separately.Body paragraph:The most obvious advantages lies in the fact that it allows teachers to employ different pedagogic strategies suited to the particular group of pupils. For example, for the more intelligent students who are more likely to have a quicker mind and a stronger knowledge thirsty intention, teachers or tutors can include something more difficult or complex in their syllabus, catering for the special needs. On the other hand, some other students who are not that intelligent may be slow at learning or acquiring new knowledge or skills, a correspondingly suitable teaching strategy then is highly desirable. In this case, the separate teaching scheme is generally good for both groups of students, since teachers can thereafter design different courses and teaching methods catering for their special needs.(二) 驳论段写作Sample 1真题举例:Topic: Should costs of higher education be paid by the government? Viewpoint: The costs can be paid by government loads.Body paragraph:With a tendency to hold that higher education is no longer compulsory, many people then claim that it should be funded by students themselves instead of the government. This indeed reduces governments’ financial burden to a certain extent and it is argued that students’ motivation would be highly strengthened since they have paid a large amount of fees to obtain the access. But the downsides should not be neglected. That is mainly tosay, the economically disadvantaged groups, for example, children of impoverished farmers in remote rural areas and laid-off workers in cities, may be put at an extreme disadvantage, and therefore should be assured of an equal chance to access the university education by the government.Sample 2真题举例:Topic:Some people believe that air travel should be restricted because it causes serious pollution and uses up the world’s fuel resources. To what extent do you agree or disagree?Viewpoint: Disagree with the opinion.Body paragraph:Of course, there is no denying that traveling by plane produces greenhouse gases and is fuel-consuming. But one fact should be made clear that the main source of world’s emissions is private cars rather than airplanes. Moreover, alternative energies are being explored and some have already come into being. It is imaginable that in the near future we will be able to enjoy the journey from Beijing to London in planes powered by new energy.三.结尾段写作Sample 1真题举例:Topic: Should governments fund space exploration? Conclusion:To conclude,I am in support of the opinion that governments should fund space exploration. However, they should only allot a reasonable budget for this for the fact that their top priority is always to improve the living conditions of their citizens.Sample 2真题举例:Topic: Differences between countries are becoming less evident nowadays. People tend to have the same films, music, brands, TV channels, etc. To what extent do you think the disadvantages outweigh the advantages? Conclusion:Overall, I am quite optimistic about the prospect of an increasingly similar world. Of course, some minority groups may be put at a disadvantage for they cannot receive equal attention as the superpowers. So I also advocate that government or other bodies should make efforts to bring these minorities into the international horizon.。
IELTS雅思作文WritingTask2In this contemporary world, one of the most severe issue- obesity has an impact on society. Some people confirmthat only providinghealthy food and participation in sports beingcompulsory can solve this problem effectively. Whereas, other individuals believe that there are still other strategies to tackle this issue which include enhancement of health education and closing fast-food outlets. On the one hand, only providing healthy food is a beneficial way to solve the problem which people are being overweight. To start with, healthy food contains more nutrients, such as fibre, which can help the digestive system and vitamin C, which can prevent people from catching colds. A well-known saying, ‘an apple a day, keep the doctors away’ is the best example. In addition, makingsports compulsory in schools is another good idea. Recent surveys say that teenagers have become a large proportion of obese population. As well as, doing sports or exercises is the best way to lose weight and to keep fit, compared to being on a diet.On the other hand, a large number of people consider that there are several other methods which can reduce the increasing number of obese population. First of all, the guidance from governments and institutes about how to promote good eating habits needs to be implemented due to lack of knowledge about health. Thus, governments are necessary to educate public on what is health food and how to select suitable balanced everyday meals by advertising. Last but not the least, shutting down the fast-food outlets is another drastic opinion. Along with the swift lifestyle, people choose to eat fast-food which contains high calories and fat which people cannot fully consume, for instance,KFC, Burger king and Pizzas. Hence, these outlets should be shut down for public health to improve. In conclusion, thesolutions of people being obese are obviously varied, including providing onlyhealthy food and making sports compulsory in schools. However, other ideas need to be taken under consideration, such as enhancement of health education and shutting down fast-food outlets. Nevertheless, people have various means and strategies to solve the problem of obesity.。

雅思写作范文【1】Children who are brought up in the family that do not have a lot of money are better prepared to deal with problems when they become adults than children who are brought up by wealthy parent.Do you agree or disagree with this statement?Model Answer:Over the past few decades, along with growing interest in child education, people's attention to the family environment where a child is brought up has also significantly increased. Some people have begun to feel that a child who has grown up in a poor family tend to be better prepared to deal with problems. In my opinion, however, family environment alone does not much influence a child's ability to solve problems.A child who was born into a poor family would have had more situations where they had to solve a problem or make a decision on their own. This is because in most unfortunate families, both parents are usually working and children are put into situations where they have to take care of themselves. By contrast, due to their wealth, rich children can experience and learn things that unfortunate children cannot. For example, they usually go to the best schools and receive a higher education there, which prepares them better for solving problems in their life. However, few would disagree with the fact that eachindividual is different. That is, problem solving skills come more from life experience. That is, the more a person experiences in life, the more they can use these experiences to adjust, to adapt and to solve problems they encounter. Personality also can be a factor in dealing with problems. A person who is optimistic, outgoing, confident and open-minded can look at and solve problems more effectively. As discussed above, nature and nurture have an equal influence on a child's ability to face challenges. Parents should spare no effort to figure out how they can help their children to be independent. I hope that in the future the next generation will grow up as mature citizens.雅思写作范文【2】When people need to complain about a product or poor service, some prefer to complain in writing and others prefer to complain in person.Which way do you prefer?Model Answer:It is rather difficult for me to answer the question how I prefer to complain: in writing or in person because sometimes I just do not have a choice. For example, if I order a product using the Internet from another state or even country, I will more likely have the opportunity to speak to a representative of a company in person. So, in some cases I choose to speak in person and in others I prefer to complain in writing. However, I believe that every option has its advantages. From the one side, complaining in writing brings many benefits. First of all, one does not have to spend his precious time driving, waiting for his turn and talking with a representative. He can just send mail or e-mail and get all explanation he needs.Second of all, I think it is the best way to avoid an unpleasant conversation. Personally, I do not like to complain about anything especially, in person. Finally, sometimes it is impossible to have a face-to-face conversation because a company which provided a poor product or service is too far away. From the other side, complaining in person has some benefits too. First, this type of complaining provides an immediate feedback. So, if I have some complains about company's products I will receive all information and explanation right away. However, sending a company a letter and getting a feedback can take more then a month. Second, face-to-face conversation is often more effective. People talk to each other, see each other facial gestures and body movements, which can tell a lot about a person. In addition to these practical benefits, in the case if one can not receive creditable explanation from one representative he always can require to talk to another person. For instance, my husband recently had some extra withdraws from his account by his bank and he was not aware of it. So, he went to the bank and explained to the bank's representative the situation and they together found the solution and that money was given back to my husband's account. I think, in this case face-to-face conversation is the best way to complain and get feedback fast.In conclusion, I think that if I have to complain about a product or poor service I will do it in person. However, if face-to-face conversation is impossible I think I have nothing left but to send a letter or write an e-mail there.雅思写作范文【3】Is freedom of speech necessary in a free society?Model Answer:In the last decade, there has been considerable debate over the role of free speech in a free society. Some object to absolute freedom of speech. Others advocate free speech, arguing that the freedom of speech is the single most important political right of citizens in a civilized society. Whilst I believe that there are strong arguments on both sides, I would suggest that freedom of speech should be protected in all but extreme circumstances. The freedom of speech is important at all levels in a society. Yet it is most important for the governments. A government which does not know what the people feel and think is in a dangerous position. This is how the communist regimes of Eastern Europe were toppled in the 1980s. The same is happening again in other regions of the world today. The governments that muzzle free speech run a risk of pushing their people to behave destructively or to rebel.Furthermore, without free speech no political action is possible and no resistance to injustice and oppression is possible. Without free speech elections would have no meaning at all. Policies of contestants become known to the public and become responsive to public opinion only by virtue of free speech. Between elections the freely expressed opinions of citizens help restrain oppressive rule. Without this freedom it is futile to expect political freedom or consequently economic freedom. In conclusion, I believe that the importance of free speech as a basic and valuable characteristic of a free society cannot be underestimated. It may be challenging for society to allow differences of opinion out into the open; however, the consequences of restricting free speech are likely to be more damaging in the longer term.。
雅思剑8作文task2In recent years, there has been a growing trend of people living alone. This phenomenon has sparked a heated debate among individuals, with some arguing that living alone is a positive development, while others believe it has negative implications. From my perspective, living alone can have both advantages and disadvantages, and it ultimately depends on an individual's personal preferences and circumstances. On the one hand, living alone provides individuals with a sense of independence and freedom. When living alone, one has the freedom to make decisions without having to consider the preferences or needs of others. This can be particularly liberating for individuals who value their personal space and enjoy solitude. Moreover, living alone allows individuals to establish their own routines and take full control of their lives. They can come and go as they please, without having to compromise with roommates or family members. This independence can foster personalgrowth and self-discovery, as individuals have the opportunity to explore their own interests and developtheir own identities. On the other hand, living alone can also have negative implications, particularly in terms of social isolation and loneliness. Humans are social creatures, and we thrive on social interactions and connections with others. Living alone can sometimes lead to feelings of loneliness and isolation, especially for individuals who lack a strong support network or have difficulty establishing new relationships. Furthermore, living alone can also posesafety concerns, as there is no one to rely on in case of emergencies or accidents. This can be particularly worrisome for older individuals or those with health issues, who may require assistance and support on a regular basis. In addition, living alone can have financial implications. Sharing living expenses with others can significantly reduce the financial burden, making it more affordable for individuals to live in expensive urban areas. On the other hand, living alone means shouldering all theexpenses on one's own, which can be challenging for individuals with limited financial resources. This can lead to financial strain and may limit one's ability to enjoy a certain quality of life. Moreover, living alone also means taking on all the household chores and responsibilities, which can be time-consuming and exhausting.Despite the potential drawbacks, living alone can also provide individuals with a sense of empowerment and personal growth. It forces individuals to become self-reliant and develop important life skills, such as budgeting, cooking, and managing household tasks. Moreover, living alone can also provide individuals with a sense of privacy and peace, allowing them to recharge and rejuvenate after a long day. This can be particularly beneficial for individuals who have demanding jobs or busy lifestyles. In conclusion, living alone has its own set of advantages and disadvantages. While it can provide individuals with a sense of independence and freedom, it can also lead to social isolation and financial challenges. Whether living alone is a positive or negative developmentultimately depends on an individual's personal preferences and circumstances. It is important to carefully consider the pros and cons before making a decision about living alone.。

At first glance, teachers' salaries remained the largest percentage of the total expenditure. The teacher's salaries were fluctuated across the period. It started from 40% in 1981, followed by 50 % in 1991 and reduced to 45% in 2001. Resources such as books experienced a similar pattern. In 1981, it occupied 15% of the spending and it rose to one fifth in 1991 before dropping to 9% in 2001.Other workers' salaries had been decreasing over last three decades, which reduced from 288% in 1981 to only 15% in 2001. On the other hand, more money had spent on insurance. It first rose by 1% to 3 % in 1991 and then dramatically climbed to 8% in 2001. Furniture and equipment also increased from 15% in 1981 to 23% in 2001, despite the fact that it declined by 10% in 1991.Overall, teachers and other workers’ salaries, furniture and equipment were the highest expenses of the school for the last 30 years.参考范文2:The charts compare changes in the shares of five different items which comprised the yearly expenses of a British school between 1981 and 2001.Overall, while the shares of three items experienced rises, there were declines in the remaining two. Moreover, academic staff salaries contributed the largest proportion of expenditure throughout the survey, whereas insurance had the smallest share.Wages paid to the teaching staff accounted for the most significant proportion of expenditure in 1981 (40%) and went up by a quarter before declining slightly. In comparison, the salaries of non-academic employees were responsible for less than a third of all expenses in 1981, but their share dipped substantially by 13% over the course of these 20 years. The share of furniture and equipment was initially as high as that of educational resources (15%), but while the former dropped by 2/3 before rising fivefold, the latter experienced a marked rise after which it halved, reaching just below 10%.The contribution of insurance had risen minimally from 2% to 3% by 1991, before climbing almost threefold in 2001.参考范文3(考官范文):The charts show how much a UK school spent on different running costs in three separate years: 1981, 1991 and 2001.In all three years, the greatest expenditure was on staff salaries. Technology has affected relationships in various ways, and in my opinion there are both positive and negative effects.Technology has had an impact on relationships in business, education and social life. Firstly, telephones and the Internet allow business people in different countries to interact without ever meeting each other. Secondly, services like Skype create new possibilities for relationships between students and teachers. For example, a student can now take video lessons with a teacher in a different city or country. Finally, many people use social networks, like Facebook, to make new friends and find people who share common interests, and they interact through their computers rather than face to face.On the one hand, these developments can be extremely positive. Cooperation between people in different countries was much more difficult when communication was limited to written letters or telegrams. Nowadays, interactions by email, phone or video are almost as good as face-to-face meetings, and many of us benefit from these interactions, either in work or social contexts. On the other hand, the availability of new communication technologies can also have the result of isolating people and discouraging real interaction. For example, many young people choose to make friends online rather than mixing with their peers in the real world, and these ‘virtual’ relationships are a poor substitute for real friendships. In conclusion, technology has certainly revolutionised communication between people, but not all of the outcomes of this revolution have been positive.。

雅思作文范文【1】题目:Some people think that strict punishments for driving offences are the key to reducing traffic accidents. Others, however, believe that other measures would be more effective in improving road safety. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.范文:People have differing views with regard to the question of how to make our roads safer. In my view, both punishments and a range of other measures can be used together to promote better driving habits. On the one hand, strict punishments can certainly help to encourage people to drive more safely. Penalties for dangerous drivers can act as a deterrent, meaning that people avoid repeating the same offence. There are various types of driving penalty, such as small fines, licence suspension, driver awareness courses, and even prison sentences. The aim of these punishments is to show dangerous drivers that their actions have negative consequences. As a result, we would hope that drivers become more disciplined and alert, and that they follow the rules more carefully. On the other hand, I believe that safe driving can be promoted in several different ways that donot punish drivers. Firstly, it is vitally important to educatepeople properly before they start to drive, and this could be done in schools or even as part of an extended or more difficult driving test. Secondly, more attention could be paid to safe road design. For example, signs can be used to warn people, speed bumps and road bends can be added to calm traffic, and speed cameras can help to deter people from driving too quickly. Finally, governments or local councils could reduce road accidents by investing in better public transport, which would mean that fewer people would need to travel by car.In conclusion, while punishments can help to prevent bad driving, I believe that other road safety measures should also be introduced.雅思作文范文【2】题目:As well as making money, businesses also have social responsibilities. To what extent do you agree or disagree?范文:Businesses have always sought to make a profit, but it is becoming increasingly common to hear people talk about the social obligations that companies have. I completely agree with the idea that businesses should do more for society than simply make money. On the one hand, I accept that businesses must make money in order to survive in a competitive world. It seems logical that the priority of any company should be to cover its running costs, such as employees’ wages and payments for buildings and utilities. On top of these costs, companies also need to invest in improvements and innovations if they wish to remain successful. If a company is unable to pay its bills or meet the changing needs of customers, any concerns about social responsibilities become irrelevant. In other words, a company can only make a positivecontribution to society if it is in good financial health. On the other hand, companies should not be run with the sole aim of maximising profit; they have a wider role to play in society. One social obligation that owners and managers have is to treat their employees well, rather than exploiting them. For example, they could pay a “living wage” to ensure that workers have a good quality of life. I also like the idea that businesses could use a proportion of their profits to support local charities, environmental projects or education initiatives. Finally, instead of trying to minimise their tax payments by using accounting loopholes, I believe that company bosses should be happy to contribute to society through the tax system. In conclusion, I believe that companies should place as much importance on their social responsibilities as they do on their financial objectives.。
雅思剑桥8 test 2 小作文In recent years, the issue of environmental pollution has become a major concern for people all over the world. This problem is particularly acute in urban areas, where industrialization and urbanization have led to a significant increase in air and water pollution. In this essay, I will explore the causes and effects of environmental pollution in urban areas, as well as potential solutions to this pressing issue. One of the primary causes of environmental pollution in urban areas is industrialization. As cities grow and develop, they often become home to a large number of factories and industrial plants. These facilities emit a wide range of pollutants into the air and water, including carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, and heavy metals. Additionally, the use of fossil fuels for energy production and transportation further contributes to air pollution in urban areas.Another major cause of environmental pollution in urban areas is urbanization itself. As more people move to cities in search of employment and a better quality of life, the demand for housing, transportation, and consumer goods increases. This leads to the expansion of urban areas, deforestation, and the destruction of natural habitats. As a result, urbanization has a significant impact on air and water quality, as well as the overall health of the environment. The effects of environmental pollution in urban areas are wide-ranging and severe. Air pollution, for example, has been linked to a variety of respiratory illnesses, including asthma and bronchitis. In addition, the presence ofpollutants in the air can lead to a range of cardiovascular problems, such as heart attacks and strokes. Water pollution, on the other hand, can have devastating effects on aquatic ecosystems and the health of people who rely on contaminated water sources for drinking and sanitation. In order to address the issue of environmental pollution in urban areas, it is essential to implement a range of solutions at the local, national, andinternational levels. One potential solution is to invest in cleaner and more sustainable technologies for energy production and transportation. This could involve the development of renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind power, as well as the promotion of public transportation and electric vehicles.Another important solution is to improve waste management practices in urban areas. This could involve the implementation of recycling programs, the construction of modern landfills, and the enforcement of strict regulations on industrial waste disposal. Additionally, efforts should be made to raise public awareness about the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling waste in order to minimize the impact of urbanization on the environment. In conclusion, environmental pollution is a significant problem in urban areas, with far-reaching effects on public health and the environment. However, by implementing a range of solutions, such as investing in cleaner technologies and improving waste management practices, it is possible to mitigate the impact of pollution and create a more sustainable urban environment for future generations. It is essential for governments, businesses, and individuals to work together to address this pressing issue and ensure a healthier and cleaner future for urban areas.。

Increasing the price of petrol is the best way to solve growing traffic and pollution problems. To what extend do you agree or disagree? What other measures do you think might be effective? The issue of how to solve traffic congestion and automobile pollution problem has been discussed by the public and experts for many years. Some people contend that increasing the price of petrol is the most efficient and effective way to tackle this issue. However, I think this is one of many methods to address these problems rather than the best way.To solve the traffic and pollution problem fundamentally requires more feasible and effective methods. Governments play a pivotal role in solving these problems. Specifically, governments would be well-advised to enact appropriate traffic rules and regulations to make the city traffic systems more reasonable and convenient for the citizens. Thus, it would be easier to ease the growing traffic without excessive expenditure. Further, the gasoline enterprises should take the responsibility to develop high quality and more cleaner fuels, which could effectively decrease the exhaust fumes discharged by cars. Besides, rising people's awareness to protect our environment is the most essential and vital strategy to work out contamination problems. If the majority of individuals would choose public transport such as public buses, sky trains and underground railways instead of private cars, these problems could readily solved without waste enormous social resources.Undeniably, it is quite understandable for the claim of increasing petrol price because this kind of approach could fulfill some achievements in the short run. However, these accomplishments are at the cost of leading to many several social problems like rising of unemployment rates, recession of automobile industry, etc. Therefore, we should not only consider to solve one trouble with huge expenses but also consider the long run effects.Having considered all the arguments above, I hold the opinion that rising petrol price is one of many effective ways to address traffic congestion and contamination problems. The government should consider some more eco-friendly and less resource-consuming methods to settle these problems.。

雅思作文范文【1】Some people insist that senior workers 65 or over should retire but others believe that they should continue working. What is you opinion?Model Answer:Over the past few decades [In the past], there have been many advances in medical technology. Because of this, senior citizens are healthier and more active than before and may choose to work beyond the age of 65. Nowadays, however, there has been a growing debate as to whether or not these people should retire in order to create jobs for the younger generation. Despite the advantages of early retirement, I strongly believe that it is better for senior workers to continue working as long as they are physically and mentally capable. Those who believe that senior workers need to retire for younger generation base their case on the following arguments. First, the unemployment rate, especially for college graduates, has never been so high so it is today. This is largely due to the slow economy. Therefore, firing some elderly workers who are well-paid would allow those unemployed young people to have good opportunities to get a job. In addition, replacing older workers with young people would bring greater benefits to companies [=employers]. This is because youngsters are better at adapting themselves to fast changing information basedsociety. They are generally better at computers and speaking foreign languages than their older counterparts.Nevertheless, people should not ignore the fact that senior citizens have been playing vital roles both at home and at work for their entire lives. To begin with, a young person's need for a job is no more important than an older person's. Both have a responsibility to support their families. Sadly, few seniors can afford early retirement. Besides, senior workers provide the wisdom and experience that young employees cannot offer. There is strong [=acute] possibility of situations arising that require the knowledge of skilled senior employees. In summary, the advantages of keeping seasoned workers far outweigh its disadvantages. There are high hopes that employers exercise wisdom [=caution] in dealing with this issue.雅思作文范文【2】What discovery in the last 100 years has been most beneficial for people in your country?Model Answer:I am from Russia. From my opinion the most beneficial discovery for people in our country has been the discovery of the outer space. Russia is the first country that launched a spacecraft with a man on the board into the space. This event was a big step towards the new discoveries and brought many benefits not only for people in my country. Bellow I will give my reasons to support my answer.First of all, all humankind made a huge step towards the mystery of our creation. Scientists had the opportunity to do the new research and experiments. Many new discoveries were made on the boards of the spacecrafts in the outer space. People from all over the world watched these events. Many books with realcolorful photos were written about the beginning of the space exploration. Nowadays we have a big station called "Mir" in the outer space created on the base of collaboration USA and Russia. Many people work there doing amazing experiments.Second of all, the world became "smaller". People learnt how to exchange information very quickly by use of satellites. Television is broad-casted all over the world by use of satellites. Here in Houston I can watch Russian programs. People got the opportunity to exchange news very quickly. To sum up, I believe that space exploration will bring much more benefits in the future and someday we will learn what is beyond our current galaxy.雅思作文范文【3】Some people think women should be allowed to join the army, the navy and the air force just like men.To what extent do you agree or disagree?Model Answer:Whether women should be allowed to serve in the military has triggered spirited debate. Some assert that women should be allowed to defend their country in the same capacity as their male peers. Personally, I agree with their assertion for two reasons.History has shown that women are fully capable of performing well in the military. Historically, there were a host of valiant women soldiers whose achievements really put their male counterparts to shame. One need only look at the classic examples of Joan of Arc and Mulan to see how exceptionally women could perform on the battlefield. In my observation, their determination, courage and dignity, to this day, are still being admired by male soldiers and civilians alike throughout the world. Moreover, from an enlightened standpoint, female patriots should be granted the right to go to the front line when their motherland is involved in a war. Admittedly, gender inequality was a highly controversial issue in the twentieth century. However, now twelve years into the new millennium, women can learn and teach, work and supervise, vote and voted in most countries just like men. In light of this sweeping progress in gender equality, there is no sense in denying them the right to defend their home country when a war breaks out.In sum, keeping military services out of bounds of women in the information age is unwarranted. I have been convinced that it is in the best interest of a nation if women are also granted equal rights in this particular arena.。

雅思作文范文【1】题目:In some countries, many more people are choosing to live alone nowadays than in the past. Do you think this is a positive or negative development?范文:In recent years it has become far more normal for people to live alone, particularly in large cities in the developed world. In my opinion, this trend could have both positive and negative consequences in equal measure. The rise in one-person households can be seen as positive for both personal and broader economic reasons. On an individual level, people who choose to live alone may become more independent and self-reliant than those who live with family members. A young adult who lives alone, for example, will need to learn to cook, clean, pay bills and manage his or her budget, all of which are valuable life skills; an increase in the number of such individuals can certainly be seen as a positive development. From an economic perspective, the trend towards living alone will result in greater demand for housing. This is likely to benefit the construction industry, estate agents and a whole host of other companies that rely on homeowners to buy their products or services. However, the personal and economic arguments given above can be considered from the opposite angle. Firstly, rather than the positive feeling of increased independence, people who livealone may experience feelings of loneliness, isolation and worry. They miss out on the emotional support and daily conversation that family or flatmates can provide, and they must bear the weight of all household bills and responsibilities; in this sense, perhaps the trend towards living alone is a negative one. Secondly, from the financial point of view, a rise in demand for housing is likely to push up property prices and rents. While this may benefit some businesses, the general population, including those who live alone, will be faced with rising living costs. In conclusion, the increase in one-person households will have both beneficial and detrimental effects on individuals and on the economy.雅思作文范文【2】题目:Some people think that all university students should study whatever they like. Others believe that they should only be allowed to study subjects that will be useful in the future, such as those related to science and technology. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.范文:People have different views about how much choice students should have with regard to what they can study at university. While some argue that it would be better for students to be forced into certain key subject areas, I believe that everyone should be able to study the course of their choice. There are various reasons why people believe that universities should only offer subjects that will be useful in the future. They may assert that university courses like medicine, engineering and information technology are more likely to be beneficial than certain art degrees. From a personal perspective, it can be argued that these courses provide more jobopportunities, career progression, better salaries, and therefore an improved quality of life for students who take them. On the societal level, by forcing people to choose particular university subjects, governments can ensure that any knowledge and skill gaps in the economy are covered. Finally, a focus on technology in higher education could lead to new inventions, economic growth, and greater future prosperity. In spite of these arguments, I believe that university students should be free to choose their preferred areas of study. In my opinion, society will benefit more if our students are passionate about what they are learning. Besides, nobody can really predict which areas of knowledge will be most useful to society in the future, and it may be that employers begin to value creative thinking skills above practical or technical skills. If this were the case, perhaps we would need more students of art, history and philosophy than of science or technology. In conclusion, although it might seem sensible for universities to focus only on the most useful subjects, I personally prefer the current system in which people have the right to study whatever they like.【雅思写作task2参考范文】。
IELTS8Test3WRITINGTASK2第一篇:IELTS 8 Test3 WRITING TASK 2Increasing the price of petrol is the best way to solve growing traffic and pollution problems. To what extend do you agree or disagree? What other measures do you think might be effective? The issue of how to solve traffic congestion and automobile pollution problem has been discussed by the public and experts for many years. Some people contend that increasing the price of petrol is the most efficient and effective way to tackle this issue. However, I think this is one of many methods to address these problems rather than the best way.To solve the traffic and pollution problem fundamentally requires more feasible and effective ernments play a pivotal role in solving these problems.Specifically, governments would be well-advised to enact appropriate traffic rules and regulations to make the city traffic systems more reasonable and convenient for the citizens. Thus, it would be easier to ease the growing traffic without excessive expenditure.Further, the gasoline enterprises should take the responsibility to develop high quality and more cleaner fuels, which could effectively decrease the exhaust fumes discharged by cars.Besides, rising people's awareness to protect our environment is the most essential and vital strategy to work out contamination problems. If the majority of individuals would choose public transport such as public buses, sky trains and underground railways instead of private cars, these problems could readily solved without waste enormous social resources.Undeniably, it is quite understandable for the claim of increasing petrol price because this kind of approach could fulfillsome achievements in the short run.

The view that women are better parents than men has shown itself to be true throughout history. This is not to say that men are not of importance in child-‐ rearing indeed, they are most necessary if children are to appreciate fully the roles of both sexes. But women have proven themselves superior parents as a result of their conditioning, their less aggressive natures and their generally better c ommunication s kills.

Girls see their mothers in the same roles and so it is natural that they identify this as a female activity. Boys, in contrast, learn competitive roles far removed from what it means to nurture.
