浅淡高校教师在非英语专业学生四级考试中的作用
大学英语四级考试是由教育部主管的一项全国性的教学考试，其目的是对大学生的综合英语能力进行客观、准确的衡量，并为教学提供反馈信息。大学英语四级考试作为大学阶段英语能力测试的主要形式之一，历来倍受关注。尤其是对于非英语专业的学生来说，这是英语学习的一个衡量标准。尽管非英语专业学生在四级考试中存在各种各样的问题，但是为了能使非英语专业学生顺利通过四级考试，我们作为教育第一线的教师，在学习过程中有关键作用。
一、非英语专业学生四级考试存在的问题
在现有的教学环境下，非英语专业学生在四级考试过程中会遇上各类问题。
首先，基础薄弱。不同学生在上大学之前都是来自于不同的教育背景，对于英语学习的兴趣浓厚也因人而异。因为一直以来都找不到正确的学习方法，学生在面临四级考试的压力下，越发不想学英语。
其次，词汇量少。在英语学习过程中，尤其是四级这类有针对性的等级考试里，词汇的考核占据相当重的比例。四级考试大纲中对于词汇量的要求大约4500左右。许多学生在未真正接触并熟背这些单词的之前就已经被数量吓跑了。我经常听到我所任教的非英语专业的学生向我抱怨，单词好难背，记不住。最后，非英语专业学生对于四级考试不重视。对于非英语专业学生来说，英语课程并不属于专业课。有些学生抱着随便学一学的态度来对待英语学习。更有少许学生觉得英语学习对于他们只是一个负担，对他们将来的工作生活以及专业一点帮助都没有。因此，学生觉得花大量时间准备四级考试是在浪费时间，没有意义。
二、高校教师在非英语专业学生四级考试中的作用
随着大学英语四级考试的影响越来越广泛，它在非英语专业学生的英语学习中有着不可或缺的重要地位。高校教师在完成教学任务的同时也顺理成章担当了学生进行考试各专项技能培训导师这一角色。
（一）教师充当四级统考联络员
在任何一所高校中，参加四级考试的学生大部分都是由各个学院的非英语专业学生组成。因此，有必要给每个院系指派一名四级统考联络员，由该系的英语任课教师担任。联络员负责随时和各院系保持联系，及时反映学生的学习动态、思想状态、学习风气等，解决好学生“学”的积极性。
（二）教师开展月考
很多学生不理解，都已经上到大学了，不需要再存在月考这么紧张的学习压力了。其实，教师开展月考主要是希望达到两个目的：第一，让学生熟悉考试的流程和题型。由于学生平时可能习惯了分模块做题，但却忽略了整张试题的把握。教师在安排月考时比较系统化正规化，考试题型比较集中，时间把握到位，类似于四级考试，这些都可以让学生尽快熟悉四级的整体流程，到真正考试的时候不用太紧张，也是一个让每个学生把握在做题时如何合理分配时间的机会，哪些题是自己可以看一遍就回答的，哪些是要花些时间来好好思考的。第二，一月一次的考试能让学生有个反思的机会，对下一个阶段的学习很有利。学生可以通过这次考试找出问题，改进学习方法和复习策略，为下一阶段的复习积累经验。
（三）教师开展四级辅导系列讲座
大部分学生在四级考试准备过程中往往会处于非常茫然的状态。这个时候，更加需要教师从旁指点协助。为了提高学生英语学习的兴趣，创造良好的语言学习气氛，教师可每周举办一次英语四级辅导系列讲座。由全院教师轮流就英语四级考试的大纲要求、试题题型与分值，备考策略，应试技巧等方面进行全面细致的分析与指导。这对于全院学生，尤其是非英语专业学生，学习英语、备考四级以及提高四级通过率都会起到积极的作用。
（四）教师利用课堂时间积极操练
现代社会对于英语课堂教学形式要求越来越多元化。学生已经抗拒只学习书本上的知识。非英语专业学生更加渴望学习到与他们专业有关或者对将来工作有帮助的英语知识。四级补充知识无疑是一个拓展知识面的积极选择。教师利用课堂时间给学生精选大量的英语四级材料，包括各种题型的专项训练及综
合模拟题，以配合四级强化训练，争取做到随堂做、随堂讲，在有效时间内提高学生的审题速度和做题效率，使学生对各种题型都有充分准确地把握。
（五）教师开放语音教室，提高学生听力学习能力
教育部颁布的最新《大学英语课程教学要求》明确规定：大学英语的教学目标是培养学生的英语综合应用能力，特别是听说能力。四级考试在这个规定的指导下不断改革，听力测试分值比例不断扩大。由原来的20%增长到了35%，四级考试已经由注重阅读过渡到阅读与听力并重了。由此可见，听力在考试以及实际运用中至关重要。为了提高学生的听力水平，教师可为学生开放语音教室，保证学生至少每周都能利用一次语音教室进行听力训练，使其能更快的适应四级听力考试环境，并配以一定的习题训练，为学生练习听力创造了一个良好的学习氛围。
除了采取上述措施外，教师还应该注重学生的思想及心理动态的变化。针对有些学生思想压力过大，对自己缺乏自信心、缺乏学习动力、对待四级考试态度不端正等问题，教师可在课后主动找学生谈心聊天，通过与学生的近距离接触，把握他们的思想动态，帮助他们树立信心，消除对四级的恐惧感，减轻学生的心理压力，从而使他们以更好的精神状态迎接英语四级的挑战。总之，四级考试，不仅对非英语专业学生而言是一项挑战，而且也是对高校教师教学成果的检验。高校教师应该努力在其中充当好积极作用，为国家培养更多综合型人才。
