Lianne Moseley is a unique Canadian makeup artist. While she has a full-time job doing wedding makeup, her real passion lies in painting real-life people into cartoon characters!

Using smartphones with cameras, we can now take selfies and immediately share it with the world through social networking websites. However, some believe that taking selfies is causing people to take unnecessary risks that in some cases are proving to be deadly!
So how bad is the pro blem? According to recent news reports, taking an “exciting”selfies has killed 12 people this year. Thought that may not seem like a lot, it is four more than the eight people that have died from shark attacks.
While the problem has been known for a while, it came to a head following the accidental death of Hideto Ueda at the Taj Mahal in Agra. The 66-year-old Japanese was trying to take a selfie when he fell down some stairs. He passed away soon after a head injury.
The rising number of injuries is forci ng governments to take some measures. The Russian Interior Ministry has begun a nationwide program to warn its young people about the dangers of taking selfies. The program’s slogan is: “Even a million ‘likes’on social networking websites are not worth your life and well-being.”
Though no other country has followed their lead, many are banning the tool that has led to the rise in injuries – the selfie stick. In the last few months, many museums and Parks including Disney have banned their use.
While these measures may help, the only way to stop self ie-related injuries and deaths is to encourage everyone to take responsibility –not just for themselves, but also, their friends. So the next time you or your best friends decide to take a selfie that appears
a little risky, be sure to stop and ask yourself, “Is it worth it?”
