Introduction to Mr. Jules Verne
Jules Verne (8 February 1828-24 March 1905) was a French author who worte many science-fiction. He is best known for his novels A Journey to the Center of the Earth, From the Earth to the Moon，Around the World in Eighty Days, Twenty Thousand leagues Under the Sea, and The Mysterious Island. He was the Father of science fiction.
He combined the science and the literary. He used his great imagination to show us a world which full of infinite possibilities. Jules Verne’s novels have been noted for a sign of science fiction. He expect many things in his novels. Pairs is an often cited example of this as it arguably describes air conditioniny, automobiles, electricity, televisions, even the internet, and other Modern converien very similar to their real world. He used his best way to show us a wonderful world. And I think if we want to create a wonderful future we should keep our imagination and creations.
Introduction of his time
Jules Verne was born in Nantes, in France, to Pierre Verne an attorney. Jules spent his early years at home with his parents summers on the banks of Loire River. Jules and his brother would often rent a boat for a Franc a day. The sight of many ships navigating the river sparked Jules’s imagination. At the age of nine, Jules, of whom he was very fond, was sent to boarding school at the Saint Donation College. As a child, he showed a great interest in travel and exploration. And his interest in writing often cost his progress in other subjects. In1842, he began the first book. De Villevoi may have inspired Verne conceptual design for the Nautilus in Twenty Thousand leagues Under the Sea. After his study at lycee, Verne went to pairs to study law. Around 1848, he began writing librat for operettas. Some years later, his attentions were divided between the theater and work. His father was angry when he know his was writing rather than studying laws. Verne met Honorine de Viane a widow with two daughters. They were married on January 10 1857. He worte many Fictions in his life. He is a great man.
Summary of Around the World in Eighty Days
In 1872, Mr. Phileas Fogg lived at No. 7, Saville Row, Burlington Gardens. As we all know, Columbus found the new American continent in his travel. The earth is a ball which idea had been accepted. Some people had moved around the world before. But no one knows how long would it take to finish it.
At that time, the first Technical Revolution has happed in England. People called that time “the Age of Machines”. Machines were used many areas. The train and ship were run by machines. Machines brought higher speed in traffic. The steam-ship were made of iron and pulled by powerful steam machines. They are the background how could Mr. finish his travel.
What is the shortest time around the world? No body knows. But Mr. phileas said that a man would finish his travel around the world in Eighty days. It was an amazing idea at that time. No one believe his word. He said he would do it to prove he is right. As a man who is a time keeper, he began his travel immediately with his servant, passepartout. At first his servant did not believe they will travel around the world. But after they passed by pairs. Passepartout had to believe the are on the way around the world.
As things went by, a mistake was made by London police. Mr. Phileas Fogg was charged as a robber. They suspect he steal fifty-five thousand pounds for the Bank of England. A detective was
sent to arrest Mr. Phileas Fogg. The detective, Mr. Fix, came after Mr. Phileas Fogg and tried to Arrested Mr. Fhileas Fogg. A long, hard, and dangerous journey began. They destinations were Suze, Bombay, Calcutta, Hangkong, Yakahama, San Francisico, New York, and London. It is a circle around the earth. They met different cultures and got over different difficulties. At last, they came back London in time and safety. Mr. Fogg was proved not a robber. And he married a woman who was saved in his journey. All of them began they happy life.
Comments on the character of Mr. Phileas Fogg.
Mr. Fogg is a rich man. He received his fortune from his father. He has his daily habit, The author write down every minute about his daily habit. And Mr. Fogg always do that. Absolutly, MR. Fogg is a time keeper.
At the beginning of their journey, Mr. Phileas Fogg gave a poor woman several pounds. Then, in India, he gave the elephant to his guider as a gift. And he saved Aouda from the death. All of those proved Mr. Fogg is a kind person.
Mr. Fogg planed his life and keep the plan went on day by day. Before his travel , he listed his destinations on by one and figured out how long it would take form one to another. He knew he will meet bad weather, contrary winds, shipwrecks, rails way accidents, and some other un expected accidents. But he still believed his plan. That showed his self-confident.
He decided to travel around the world in one minute and he begin the travel around the world in one hour. He never shake his heart in this travel. He is a kind of person who can keep words.
At firstly of the travel, he saved two days when he arrived Bombay. He just camly entered the fact in the itinerary in the colum of gains. After a fight near Fort Kearney, he is therefore twenty four hours behind. But he returned the fact quiety. Even in the jail, Mr. fogg seated ,motionless ,calm and without appcurent anger ,upon a wooden bench, He carefully put his watch upon the table ,and observed its advancing hands, Not a word essaped his ups,but his look was singularly set and stem .In the last time ,he is also as calm as momarly. The truth is that he is a brave and firm man. Mr.fogg hit fix in the custom house his angry drive he to do that. But after his back in London his give the reword to fix,He is a generosity man.
Look though this Book. Mr. fogg desn’t say many words. In fact, he is the hero in this book The passepartman, and the fix travel around the world with him. Sometimes their mistake put off Mr. fogg’s plan and sometime they help Mr. fogg ,But Mr. fogg do everything meaningful even through it may put off his plan.
