2022高考英语二轮:语篇阅读高分练(4)及答案语篇阅读高分练(四)(建议用时:30分钟)Ⅰ.阅读理解A(2021·甘肃省部分一般高中高三2月联考)Energy independence. It has a nice ring to it.Doesn’t it? If you think so,you’re not alone, because energy independence has been the dream of American president for decades, and never more so than in the past few years, when the most recent oil price shock has been partly responsible for kicking off the great recession.“Energy independence”and its rhetorical(修辞的) companion “energy security”are, however, slippery concepts that are rarely through, though. What is it that we want independence from, exactly? Most people would probably say that they want to be independent from imported oil.But there are reasons that we buy all that oil from elsewhere. The first reason is that we need it to keep our economy running.Yes,there is a trickle(涓涓细流)of biofuel(生物燃料)available, and more may become available, but most biofuels cause economic waste and environmental destruction.Second,Americans have basically decided that they don’t really want to produce all their own oil. They value the environmental quality they preserve over their oil imports from abroad.Vast areas of the United States areoff-limits to oil exploration and production in the name of environmental protection. To what extent are Americans really willing to endure the environmental impacts of domestic energy production in order to cut back imports?Third, there are benefits to trade. It allows for economic efficiency, and when we buy things from places that have lower production costs than we do,we benefit. And although you don’t read about this much, the United States is also a large exporter of oil products, selling about 2 million barrels of petroleum products per day to about 90 countries. There is no question that the United States imports a great deal of energy and,in fact, relies on that steady flow to maintain its economy. When that flow is interrupted,we feel the pain in short supplies and higher prices,at the same time,we derive massive economic benefits when we buy the most affordable energy on the world market and when we engage in energy trade around the world.1.What does the author think of biofuels?A.They keep America’s economy running healthily.B.They prove to be a good alternative to petroleum.C.They do not provide a sustainable energy supply.D.They cause serious damage to the environment.2.Why does America rely heavily on oil imports?A.It wants to expand its storage of crude oil.B.Its own oil reserves are quickly running out.C.It wants to keep its own environment intact.D.Its own oil production falls short of demand.3.What does the author say about oil trade?A.It proves profitable to both sides.B.It improves economic efficiency.C.It makes for economic prosperity.D.It saves the cost of oil exploration.BWhat does it take to be a good neighbour?Over the years I have had all kinds of neighbours, ones that were enjoyable and others that were to be avoided at all costs. One of the most important things in being a good neighbour is to respect the personal privacy(隐私).When someone new moves into the neighbourhood, you’d better wait and see when and how to go to pay a visit. If you go rushing over as soon as they move in,they may think you are going to be one of those neighbours that come over at all times of the day,not respecting their privacy. It is a good idea always to be friendly to everyone in the neighbourhood. This can not only make you get along well with them, but will also be a form of protection for your family and home.If you wave as they drive by or offer a friendly hello while they are out in their yard,it shows that you like them and try to be friendly. If you are cordial(热诚的) to them, they are much more likely to watch out for any wrong doings going on around your home while you are out and let you know if anything happens.Another way of being a good neighbour is to be helpful in times of need.If you see that they are in need of a helping hand doing something or in times of difficulty,it is good to offer your help.Even though you haven’t talked alot to the people down the street, they are willing to take the time to help you because you have ever helped them when they were in need.In conclusion,if you respect their personal privacy, treat them cordially and be helpful when you see they are in need, you will be a great neighbour and anyone would be happy to have you next door!4.What should we do when a new neighbour moves in?A.Go to offer some advice.B.Go to say hello immediately.C.Wave politely through the window.D.Wait and see when and how to pay a visit.5.If we are always friendly to neighbours,we can ________.A.have our own privacyB.know more about their lifeC.make close friends with themD.keep our family members safe6.What’s the main idea of Paragraph 4?A.A friend in need is a friend indeed.B.Everybody sometimes gets into trouble.C.The neighbours should help each other.D.People needn’t talk a lot to their neighbours.7.As a good neighbour,a person should always be ________.A.brave,honest and kindB.helpful, strong and strictC.honest, active and friendlyD.respectful, friendly and helpfulⅡ.完形填空(2021·河北衡水中学高三一模)Face Adversity(逆境) with a SmileI told my friend Graham that I often cycle the two miles from my house to 阅读七选五(四)A(2023·四川省大数据精准教学联盟高三一模)It has been proved that self-care helps people lower stress and get healthier. And another interesting finding has been revealed recently. 1 As a typical form of caring about others, volunteering has been proved to be beneficial to us in the following ways.Volunteering makes us happier.Throughout history, cooperation and community have been essential parts of human survival. One reason we feel so rewarded when helping others is that the happiness of those around us has taken root in our survival instinct.According to one study, people who volunteered at least once a month reported better mental health than those who didn't. 2Volunteering increases our sense of purpose.Typically, the act of volunteering involves taking action and engaging with others. These are two mental health needs shared by most humans, especially people feeling aimless and disconnected. 3 As a result, they can have clearer goals in their own life and increase the sense of responsibility.Volunteering helps manage depression.4 That's because taking positive action helps to change the negative thoughts—whether by interacting with other people or realizing you have useful skills to share with the world.Based on that, some researchers even suggest including volunteering as an approach to treating depression.5Some researchers have discovered a link between volunteering and a lower risk of early death. This effect comes in part from how volunteering can reduce stress and depression, which in turn promotes life span, improved physical health, and better management of chronic(慢性的) diseases.A.Volunteering cures many diseases.B.Volunteering impacts our physical health.C.Caring attention towards others also improves our health.D.Volunteering also helps reduce sadness or hopelessness.E.People who always hold a positive attitude is unlikely to get depressed.F.Some even said volunteering made them as happy as having an extra $1,100.G.When volunteering, people learn new skills and develop more social connections.【语篇解读】本文是一篇说明文。
考点分类练(四) 推理推断题(2)(限时:25分钟)Passage1(2024安徽淮南二模)From the time I was a young girl, all I wanted was to play outside.I used the ferns (蕨类植物) in my childhood backyard to raise myself up muddy Pacific Northwest slopes (斜坡),sat by the edge of the property’s wo oded stream and imagined it was a winding river.Hours were spent on horseback, prepared with bags and snacks to ride the same path over and over, always dreaming up a new experience. As an adult,my interests are consistent, though the landscape has shifted. For the last four years,I have had the opportunity to explore our Earth’s most remote cold water locations as an underwater videographer and ocean-focused naturalist, developing an appreciation and understanding for challenging corners of the globe.Though my travels have taken me from Antarctica to the Arctic,it’s the temperate in-between that captivatesme.During the last four years,Southeast Alaska, particularly the Inian Islands in its incredible wildness and productivity, has stolen my attention. My name is Alyssa Adler,I am the Inian Islands Institute’s 2024 Scientist in Residence and National Geographic grant recipient for project Tall Trees in Cold Seas. The natural beauty of the Inians is pure, but the environment works for it.Massive rushing tides (潮水) flood the Hobbit Hole twice daily, like an angry river.Sometimes I learn some meaningful and useful lessons the hard way.Transportation of extensive dive equipment required the help of people in Ketchikan,Gustavus and otherplaces. These lessons only allow my respect for this region to the full, teaching me how to be successful.I need to learn and understand the power and network of Southeast Alaska, both in the water and out. It’s all worth it to roll into the salty Pacific Ocean, turn on my cameras as I sink to the seafloor, and shine my lights on early spring in the Inian Islands.1.Whatisthepurposeofthefirstparagraph?A.To share an amazing story.B.To introduce a unique plant.C.To suggest a special river.D.To their coats. The British wear these yellow flowers to show they support one of this country’s best-known charities:the Marie Curie Cancer Care. The Marie Curie Cancer Care tries to ensure everyone diagnosed with cancer is cared for in the best possible way.It also helps fund research into possible cures through other organizations.Founded in 1948,it has been continuing with its goal ever since. The charity was named after Marie Curie,a renowned scientist. She experimented with newly-discovered elements to create the theory ofradioactivity.Unfortunately,over-exposure to the radioactive elements made her develop a disease and die in 1934.Marie Curie won the Nobel Prize in two different fields.Because of her pioneering work which led to chemotherapy (化学疗法),thecharity shared the name of Marie Curie. The daffodil is one of the first plants to flower during spring in the UK,which marks the return of flowering plants to the ecosystem after winter.Because ofthis, the charity uses the daffodil as a metaphor for bringing life to other people through charitable giving.Everyone you see wearing a daffodil has donated money to the charity, but each daffodil is worth only what you want to pay for it.The charity does ask that youstick to a minimum amount of £1.The charity encourages people to start wearing their daffodils at the start of March, when the “Great Daffodil Appeal” kicks off.But that doesn’t mean you can only wear them in March.People are sometimes seen walking around with daffodils on their clothes all year round.5.What does it mean when the British wear a daffodil on their coats?A.They support a charity.B.They are recovering from cancer.C.They’ve been helped by a charity.D.They’ve been diagnosed with cancer.6.What does the underlined word “renowned” in wearers at a high price.Passage3(2024辽宁鞍山二模)We have long been attracted by quick solutions that could increase our intelligence.Today, people’s hopes lie in brain training apps, some of which claim to result in “smarter minds”.But is this quick solution all it is said to be?There are plenty of brain training apps, but they all share the same characteristics:they turn mental exercises like simple arithmetic (算术),memory testsand logic and pattern-matching problems into quick games. Some apps tell us that the more you play these mini-games,the smarter you will get.It is really a big promise. Many of the apps say they are based on “science”,a claim I found surprising as a former neuroscientist (神经系统科学家).The concept that increasing intelligence would be as simple as practicing a few mini-games every day flies in the face of what we have discovered about how humans think and learn. After surveying thousands of users across a wide variety of apps, researchers at Western University in Canada discovered that brain training had no great effect on cognitive (认知的) functioning in the real world. The positive effects that have been found are limited to the very specific mini-games and tasks that users are trained on,such as the ability to memorize lists of words or numbers,or perform mental arithmetic, with little benefit to other skills. If you are expecting them to improve your ability to write a novel or make a complex computer program,I am afraid you will want to look elsewhere.Puzzle video games such as “Baba Is You” and “Return of the Obra Dinn”,see players apply their skill at logic, memory and concentration in a far more complex way than any brain training mini-game.9.What does the author say about brain training apps?A.They have scientific support.B.They work in the form of games.C.They require problem-solving skills.D.They are based on complex arithmetic.10.What does the underlined part “flies in the face of” in paragraph 3 mean?A.Goes into details of.B.Takes advantage of.C.Goes against.es from.11.Whichbestdescribestheeffectsthatbraintrainingappshaveonmemory?A.Limited.B.Indirect.C.Damaging.D.Far-reaching.12.Whatistheauthor’sattitudeto“BabaIsYou”?A.Doubtful.B.Intolerant.C.Uninterested.D.Favorable.答案:考点分类练(四) Imagining being asked to spend twelve or so years of your life in a society which consisted only of members of own sex. How would you react? Unless there was something definitely wrong with you, you wouldn’t be too happy about it, to say the least. It is all the more surprising therefore that so many parents in the world choose to impose such abnormal conditions on their children –conditions which they themselves wouldn’t put up with for one minute!Any discussion of this topic is bound to question the aims of education. Stuffing children’s heads full of knowledge is far from being foremost among them. One of the chief aims of educations is to equip future citizens with all they require to take their place in adult society. Now adult society is made up of men and women, so how can a segregated school possibly offer the right sort of preparation for it? Anyone entering adult society after years of segregation can only be in for a shock.A co-educational school offers children nothing less than a true version of society in miniature. Boys and girls are given the opportunity to get to know each other, to learn to live together from their earliest years. They are put in a position where they can compare themselves with each other in terms of academic ability, athletic achievement and many of the extra-curricular activities which are part of school life. What a practical advantage it is ( to give just a small example ) to be able to put on a school play in which the male parts will be taken by boys and the female parts by girls! What nonsense co-education makes of the argument that boys are cleverer than girl or vice-versa. When segregated, boys and girls are made to feel that they are a race apart. Rivalry between the sexes is fostered. In a coeducational school, everything falls into its proper place. But perhaps the greatest contribution of co-education is the healthy attitude to life it encourages. Boys don’t grow up believing that women are mysterious creatures –airy goddesses, more like book-illustrations to a fairy-tale, than human beings. Girls don’t grow up imagining that men are romantic heroes. Years of living together at school dispel illusions of this kind. There are no goddesses with freckles, pigtails, piercing voices and inky fingers. There are no romantic heroes with knobbly knees, dirty fingernails and unkempt hair. The awkward stage of adolescence brings into sharp focus some of the physical and emotional problems involved in growing up. These can better be overcome in aco-educational environment. Segregated schools sometimes provide the right conditions for sexual deviation. This is hardly possible under a co-educational system. When the time comes for the pupils to leave school, they are fully prepared to enter society as well-adjusted adults. They have already had years of experience in coping with many of the problemsthat face men and women.1.What is the best title for this passage?[A] only co-education can be in harmony with society.people are in great need of co-education.[C] any form of education other than co-education is simply unthinkable.[D] co-education has many features.2.what does co-education offer to children?[A] A society.A true small model of society.[C] A real life.[D] True version of social condition.3.According to the passage, what is one of the chief aims of education?[A] It is for students to acquire knowledge. It is to equip future citizens with scientific technology.[C] It is to equip future citizens with what is required in getting a position in society.[D] It is for students to get academic achievements.4.Why do boys and girls in co-education have no illusion about each other?[A] They live together and know each other too well.Years of living together at school dismiss such illusion.[C] co-education encourage them to have an healthy attitude toward life. [D] They are familiar with each other’s problems.Vocabulary1.to be in for = receive 接受He is in for punishment. 他受到惩罚。

It had been four days of doctors giving bad news, medicine injections, procedures, MRIs and restless nights. I had been able to eat one meal a day due to the surgeries I was scheduled for later. I asked my mum to bring me my car keys and on my key chain there was a soft piece of leather made from my first baseball glove. She looked worried and sad, handing the key chain to me. In the fibres of the leather were so many memories that had transformed me as a person.I grabbed my keys and touched a smooth piece of leather. It was a nice coffee brown and about 3 inches in length. Every time I touched it, I would think of one thing—baseball. The key chain was made from my first baseball glove that I cherished so much. It carried great moments like championships as well as moments when I struck out and lost. All of a sudden, my nurse walked in and I jumped when I heard her voice. She didn’t mean to interrupt, but I needed more medicine. Once she left, I focused back and grasped the cowhide. I rubbed my fingers up and down just feeling this reminder of the game. It took me on a wild road trip through my brain and I would stop at each baseball memory. This time I began to picture the people that were involved in my baseball life.I opened my eyes, realising the road trip that I used to be on had gone with the wind. My gaze shifted to the clock on the opposite wall. Almost an hour had passed! Even in tough times the things and people you love could help you escape and you would get over all the difficulties.4.What made the author’s mother worried?A.The author’s skill in baseball.B.The author’s attitude to his life.C.The author’s present situation.D.The poor condition of the hospital.5.Why did the author treasure the key chain?A.It brought back plenty of memories.B.It was soft and comfortable to touch.C.It had witnessed his great moments.D.It was made from one of his baseball gloves.6.What does the underlined word “cowhide” in paragraph 3 mean?A.Medicine.B.Baseball.C.Glove.D.Leather.7.What can be inferred from the last paragraph?A.The author feels depressed.B.The author is confident of his future.C.The author cherishes his past experience.D.The author feels tired of the life in the hospital.C(2021·江苏泰州高三第二次联考)What should we get for our kids this holiday? As children get older, giving them something they can experience instead of material things makes them happier, according to a new research led by Chaplin. The research compares the level of happiness children get from material things with that from experiences. The results shows that children aged 3 through 12 get more happiness from material things than from experiences. However, older children get more happiness from experiences than from their possessions.“It means experiences are highly preferred by adolescents, not just expensive material things,” Chaplin says. She continues explaining,“Don’t get me wrong. Young children do love experiences. And given this concept, theme parks such as Disneyland are being built everywhere. In fact, young children are excited throughout the experience. However, for experiences to provide lasting happiness, children must be able to recall details of the events.”Long after they have unwrapped their toys, there will still be a physical reminder to give them happiness. However, young children can’t see or touch experiences after they are over, making it harder for them to appreciate experiences after a long time. There’s an easy fix, though, according to Chaplin.“Take pictures or videos of family walks, playing in the snow, and birthday parties,” she says.“Children are likely to appreciate those experiences more if there is something to remind them of the event. Additionally, they’ll be able to learn the social value of shared experiences.”Children will remember and appreciate not only the birthday gifts they received, but also the time spent with family and friends as they recall the experience through concrete reminders such as photos and videos.Since memory is developed over time, it’s likely that children, especially young ones, may not get as much happiness from past experiences as from possessions. But with age, creating new memories and exploring new interests may be far more valuable than getting possessions.8.Why are theme parks springing up according to Chaplin?A.They can offer children lasting happiness.B.Events in them are centred on specific themes.C.Direct involvement in events there caters to children.D.Kids have an affection for the atmosphere they offer.9.The underlined word “fix” in paragraph 4 can be replaced by “”.A.solutionB.arrangementC.preparationD.focus10.Which of the following would Chaplin probably agree with?A.Videos appeal to children more than gifts.B.Toys are not kids’ cup of tea.C.Older children value family time more than younger ones.D.Physical reminders help remember past experiences better.11.What can be inferred from the passage?A.Experiences are better gifts for older children.B.Social values should be put in the first place.C.New interests are most precious for children.D.Material possessions bring more happiness to children.D(2023·新高考Ⅱ卷)Reading Art:Art for Book Lovers is a celebration of an everyday object—thebook, represented here in almost three hundred artworks from museums around the world. The image of the reader appears throughout history,in art made long before books as we now know them came into being. In artists’ representations of books and reading,we see moments of shared humanity that go beyond culture and time.In this “book of books,” artworks are selected and arranged in a way that emphasizes these connections between different eras and cultures. We see scenes of children learning to read at home or at school, with the book as a focus for relations between the generations.Adults are portrayed(描绘) alone in many settings and poses—absorbed in a volume, deep in thought or lost in a moment of leisure. These scenes may have been painted hundreds of years ago,but they record moments we can all relate to.Books themselves may be used symbolically in paintings to demonstrate the intellect(才智),wealth or faith of the subject. Before the wide use of the printing press, books were treasured objects and could be works of art in their own right.More recently,as books have become inexpensive or even throwaway, artists have used them as the raw material forartworks—transforming covers, pages or even complete volumes into paintings and sculptures.Continued developments in communication technologies were once believed to make the printed page outdated. From a 21st-century point of view, the printed book is certainly ancient, but it remains as interactive as any battery-powered e-reader.To serve its function,a book must be activated by a user:the cover opened, the pages parted, the contents reviewed, perhaps notes written down or words underlined. And in contrast to our increasingly networked lives where the information we consume is monitored and tracked,a printed book still offers the chance of a wholly private,“off-line” activity.12.Where is the text most probably taken from?A.An introduction to a book.B.An essay on the art of writing.C.A guidebook to a museum.D.A review of modern paintings.13.What are the selected artworks about?A.Wealth and intellect.B.Home and school.C.Books and reading.D.Work and leisure.14.What do the underlined words “relate to” in paragraph 2 mean?A.Understand.B.Paint.C.Seize.D.Transform.15.What does the author want to say by mentioning the e-reader?A.The printed book is not totally out of date.B.Technology has changed the way we read.C.Our lives in the 21st century are networked.D.People now rarely have the patience to read.Ⅱ.七选五(共5小题; 每小题2.5分, 满分12.5分)Mixing murals, sculpture and calligraphy, grotto(石窟) temples are historical treasures of ancient Chinese art, values and spirits. Thousands of people flock to grotto temples each year. 16In October, the National Cultural Heritage Administration and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism issued a notice, urging the protection of China’s grotto temples. Grotto temple workers are required to do research and determine how many daily visitors they can safely handle. 17 Visitors are encouraged to visit at different periods or have virtual experiences related to the cultural heritage sites. These measures are aimed at preserving these relics, as both human and environmental factors have caused harm.Tourists often touch the sculptures, leading to changes in the surface and colour of the figures gradually. 18 And even the most well-behaved tourists can unknowingly cause harm to the relics. Over many centuries, the ancient rocks that make up these grottoes slowly corrode(腐蚀) due to the acid content of air, water and microorganisms. 19 According to a study by the China University of Geosciences, the carbon dioxide that visitors breathe out has made the air more acid. At the Mogao Grottoes in Gansu, researchers also found that microorganisms brought in unintentionally by visitors themselves have also led to changes in colour in murals.“20Seeing the grottoes in depth, it will help people better understand Chinese philosophy and humanities from a historical perspective,” a regional director of the Yungang Grottoes Research Academy told China News.A.Preserving these relics is important.B.Yet these relics are threatened by visitors.C.The new rule received support from visitors.D.The light from cameras can also damage the relics.E.The visitors’ number should be controlled based on this research.F.But when the grottoes are open to the public, the process speeds up.G.Efforts should also go into advertising the beauty of grotto temples.50分阅读限时满分练(四)【语篇导读】本文是一篇应用文。

语鹅市安置阳光实验学校专题7 阅读理解Ⅳ:篇章结构题1.[2016·北京卷]DWhy college is not homeThe college years are supposed to be a time for important growth in autonomy(自主性) and the development of adult identity. However, now they are becoming an extended period of adolescence, during which many of today's students are not shouldered with adult responsibilities. For previous generations, college was a decisive break from parental control; guidance and support needed to come from people of the same age and from within. In the past two decades, however, continued connection with and dependence on family, thanks to cellphones, email and social media, have increased significantly. Some parents go so far as to help with coursework. Instead of promoting the idea of college as a passage from the shelter of the family to autonomy and adult responsibility, universities have given in to the idea that they should provide the same environment as that of the home.To prepare for increased autonomy and responsibility, college needs to be a time of exploration and experimentation. This process involves “trying on ” new ways of thinking about oneself both intellectually(在思维方面) and personally. While we should provide “safe spaces” within colleges, we must also make it safe to express opinions and challenge majority views. Intellectual growth and flexibility are fostered by strict debate and questioning.Learning to deal with the social world is equally important. Because a college community(群体) differs from the family, many students will struggle to find a sense of belonging. If students rely on administrators to regulate their social behaviour and thinking pattern, they are not facing the challenge of finding an identity within a larger and complex community. Moreover, the tendency for universities to monitor and shape student behaviour runs up against another characteristic of young adults: the response to being controlled by their elders. If acceptable social behaviour is too strictly defined(规定) and controlled, the insensitive or aggressive behaviour that administrators are seeking to minimize may actually be encouraged. It is not surprising that young people are likely to burst out, particularly when there are reasons to do so. Our generation once joined hands and stood firm at times of national emergency. What is lacking today is the conflict between adolescents' desire for autonomy and their understanding of an unsafe world. Therefore, there is the desire fortheir dorms to be replacement homes and not places to experience intellectual growth.Every college discussion about community values, social climate and behaviour should include recognition of the developmental importance of student autonomy and selfregulation, of the nece ssary tension between safety and selfdiscovery.70.Which of the following shows the development of ideas in the passage?A.B.C.D.I:Introduction P:Point Sp:Subpoint(次要点) C:Conclusion 2.【2012·北京,D】Wilderness“In wilderness(荒野) is the preservation of the world.”This is a famous saying from a writer regarded as one of the fathers of environmentalism. The frequency with which it is borrowed mirrors a heated debate on environmental protection:whether to place wilderness at the heart of what is to be preserved. As John Sauven of Greenpeace UK points out, there is a strong appeal in images of the wild, the untouched;more than anything else, they speak of the nature that many people value most dearly. The urge to leave the subject of such images untouched is strong, and the danger exploitation(开发) brings to such landscapes(景观) is real. Some of these wildernesses also perform functions that humans need—the rainforests, for example, store carbon in vast quantities. To Mr.Sauven, these “ecosystem services” far outweigh the gains from exploitation.Lee Lane,a visiting fellow at the Hudson Institute, takes the opposing view.He acknowledges that wildernesses do provide useful services, such as water conservation. But that is not,he argues,a reason to avoid all human presence,or indeed commercial and industrial exploitation. There are ever more people on the Earth, and they reasonably and rightfully want to have better lives, rather than merely struggle for survival. While the ways of using resources have improved, there is still a growing need for raw materials, and some wildernesses contain them in abundance. If they can be tapped without reducing the services those wildernesses provide, the argument goes, there is nofurther reason not to do so.Being untouched is not,in itself,a characteristic worth valuing above all others.I look forward to seeing these views taken further, and to their being challenged by the other participants. One challenge that suggests itself to me is that both cases need to take on the question of spiritual value a little more directly. And there is a practical question as to whether wildernesses can be exploited without harm. This is a topic that calls for not only free expression of feelings, but also the guidance of reason. What position wilderness should enjoy in the preservation of the world obviously deserves much more serious thinking.70.Which of the following shows the structure of the passage?CP:Central Point P:Point Sp:Subpoint(次要点)C:Conclusion【答案】D3.【2011陕西卷,D】Ever since they were first put on the market in the early 1990s,genetically modified (GM,转基因) foods have been increasingly developed and marketed in many countries in the world, mainly on the basis of their promise to end the worldwide food crisis. But can GM technology solve world hunger problems? Even if it would,is it the best solution?Despite what it promises, GM technology actually has not increased the production potential of any corp. In fact, studies show that the most crown GM crop.GM soybeans, has suffered reduced productivity. For instance, a report than analyzed nearly two decadesof research on major GM food crops shows that GM engineering has failed to significantly increase US crop production.Something else, however, has been on the rise, While GM seeds are expensive, GM companies tell farmers that they will make good profits by saving money on pesticides (杀虫剂). On the contrary, US government data show that GM crops in the US have produced an overall increase in pesticide use compared to traditional crops. "The promise was that you could use less chemicals and boost production. But neither is true," said Bill Christenson, President of the US National Farm Coalition. At the same time, the authors of the book World Hunger: Twelve Myths argue that there actually is more than enough food in the world and that the hunger crisis is not caused by production, but by problems in food distribution and politics. These indeed deserve our efforts and money. Meanwhile, the rise in food prices results from the increaseduse of crops for fuel rather than food, according to a 2008 World Bank report. As a matter of fact, scientists see better ways to feed the world. Another World Bank report concluded that GM crops have little to offer to the challenges of worldwide poverty and hunger, because better ways out are available, among which "green" farming is supposed to be the first choice.57.The author develops the second paragraph mainly .A.by classificationB.by comparisonC.by exampleD.by process【答案】C4.【2010·重庆卷·C】It is hardly surprising that clothing manufacturers(生产商) follow certain uniform standards for various features(特征) of clothes. What seems strange, however,is that the standard adopted for women is the opposite of the one for men.Take a look at the way your clothes button.Men’s clothes tend to button from the right, and women’s from the left.Considering most of the world’s po pulation—men and women—are righthanded, the men’s standard would appear to make more sense for women. So why do women’s clothes button from the left?History really seems to matter here.Buttons first appeared only on the clothes of the rich in the 17th century, when rich women were dressed by servants. For the mostly righthanded servants, having women’s shirts button from the left would be easier. On the other hand, having men’s shirts button from the right made sense, too. Most men dressed themselves, and a sword drawn from the left with the right hand would be less likely to get caught in the shirt.Today women are seldom dressed by servants, but buttoning from the left is still the standard for them.Is it interesting?Actually,a standard, once set, resists change. At a time when all women’s shirts buttoned from the left,it would have been risky for any single manufacture to offer women’s shirts that buttoned from the right. After all, women had grown so used to shirts which buttoned from the left and would have to develop new habits and skills to switch.Besides, some women might have found it socially awkward to appear in public wearing shirts that buttoned from the right, since anyone who noticed that would believe they were wearing men’s shirts.4.The passage is mainly developed by .A.analyzing causesB.making comparisonsC.examining differencesD.following the time order【答案】A5.【2010·湖北卷·B】For many parents, raising a teenager is like fighting a long war,but years go by without any clear winner.Like a border conflict between neighboring countries, the parentteen war is about boundaries:Where is the line between what I control and what you do?Both sides want peace, but neither feels it has any power to stop the conflict. In part, this is because neither is willing to admit any responsibility for starting it.From the parents’ point of view, the only cause of their fight is their adolescents’complete unreasonableness. And of course, the teens see it in exactly the same way, except oppositely. Both feel trapped. In this article,I’ll describe three nowin situations that commonly arise between teens and parents and then suggest some ways out of the trap. The first nowin situation is quarrels over unimportant things.Examples include the color of the teen’s hair, the cleanliness of the bedroom, the preferred style of clothing, the child’s failure to eat a good breakfast before school,or his tendency to sleep until noon on the weekends.Second,blaming.The goal of a blaming battle is to make the other admit that his bad attitude is the reason why everything goes wrong.Third, needing to be right. It doesn’t matter what the topic is—politics, the laws of physics,or the proper way to break an egg—the point of these arguments is to prove that you are right and the other person is wrong, for both wish to be considered an authority—someone who actually knows something—and therefore to command respect.Unfortunately,as long as parents and teens continue to assume that they know more than the other, they’ll continue to fight these battles forever and never make any real progress. It doesn’t matter what the topic is—politics, the laws of physics,or the proper way to break an egg—the point of these arguments is to prove Zi,also called Confucius(551-479 B.C.),and Socrates (469-399 B.C.) lived only a hundred years apart, and during their lifetimes there was no contact between China and Greece, but it is interesting to look at how the world that each of these great philosophers came from shaped their ideas, and how these ideas in turn, shaped their societies.Neither philosopher lived in times of peace, though there were more wars in Greece than in China. The Chinese states were very large and feudal, while the Greek citystates were small and urban. The urban environment in which Socrates lived allowed him to be more radical(激进的) than Confucius.Unlike Confucius,Socrates was not asked by rulers how to govern effectively. Thus Socrates was able to be more idealistic, focusing on issues like freedom, and knowledge for its ownsake.Confucius,on the other hand, advised those in government service, and many of his students went on to government service.Confucius suggested the Golden Rule as a principle for the conduct of life:“Do not do to others what you would not want others to do to you.”He assumed that all men were equal at birth, though some had more potential than others, and that it was knowledge that set men apart.Socrates focused on the individual, and thought that the greatest purpose of man was to seek wisdom. He believed that some had more potential to develop their reason than others did.Like Confucius,he believed that the superior class should rule the inferior(下层的) classes. For Socrates, the family was of no importance, and the community of little concern. For Confucius, however, the family was the centre of society, with family relations considered much more important than political relations. Both men are respected much more today than they were in theirlifetimes.4.This passage is He found some students never or hardly ever reported dating from middle to high school, and these students had consistently the best study skills according to their teachers.Other students dated infrequently in middle school but increased the frequency of dating in high school."At all points in time, teachers rated the students who reported the lowest frequency of dating as having the best study skills and students with highest dating as having the worst study skills," according to the journal article.Study skills refer to behaviours that lead to academic success such as doing homework for extra credit, being well organized, finishing homework, working hard and reading assigned chapters."Dating a classmate may have the same emotional complications (并发症) of dating a co-worker," Orpinas said."When the couple break up, they have to continue to see each other in class and perhaps witness the ex-partner (前伴侣) dating someone else.It is reasonable to think this could be linked to depression and distract (分散注意力) them from studying.""Dating should not be considered a ceremony of growth in middle school," Orpinas concluded.1.We can learn from the passage that students who date in middle school may _____.A.be less likely to use alcohol and tobaccoB.enjoy better school livesC.be more likely to hurt othersD.have poorer academic performances2.During his study, Orpinas _____.A.found study skills have connection with their frequency of dating B.completed questionnaires about the students7 academic efforts C.completed a survey and a report each yearD.followed a group of students of 6th and 12th3.Study skills may include the following behaviors and qualities except _____.A.being kind and helpfulB.being well organizedC.being diligentD.finishing assigned schoolwork4.What can possibly happen to those who date in middle school after they break up?A.They will think it reasonable to get depressed.B.They will miss their ex-partners sometimes.C.Their attention to studying will be affected.D.They don't want to see each other any longer.5.According to the passage, Orpinas holds a(n) _____ attitude towards dating in middle school.A.indifferent B.negative C.positive D.supportive 【参考答案】1—5、DAACB 第一部分完形填空完形填空训练完形填空。
2021年高考英语二轮复习专题07阅读理解Ⅳ:篇章结构题讲含解析【考纲解读】【剖析全国高考真题】——预测高考命题方向[xx·全国卷Ⅰ,D]Grown-ups are often surprised by how well they remember something they learned as children but have never practiced ever since. A man who has not had a chance to go swimming for years canstill swim as well as ever when he gets back in the water. He can get on a bicycle after many years and still ride away. He can play catch and hit a ball as well as his son. A mother who has not thought about the words for years can teach her daughter the poem that begins "Twinkle, twinkle, little star" or remember the story of Cinderella or Goldilocks and the Three Bears. One explanation is the law of overlearning, which can be stated as follows: Once we have learned something, additional learning trials(尝试) increase the length of time we will remember it.In childhood we usually continue to practice such skills as swimming, bicycle riding, and playing baseball long after we have learned them. We continue to listen to and remind ourselves of words such as "Twinkle, twinkle, little star" and childhood tales such as Cinderella and Goldilocks. We not only learn but overlearn. The multiplication tables(乘法口诀表) are an exception to the general rule that we forget rather quickly the things that we learn in school, because they are another of the things we overlearn in childhood. The law of overlearning explains why cramming(突击学习)for an examination, though it may result in a passing grade, is not a satisfactory way to learn a college course. By cramming, a student may learn the subject well enough to get by on the examination, but he is likely soon to forget almost everything he learned. A little overlearning, on the other hand, is really necessary for one's future development.68.The author explains the law of over learning by_________.A. presenting research findingsB. setting down general rulesC. making a parisonD. using examples【答案】68.

阅读理解A(2015·甘肃省部分普通高中高三2月联考)Energy independence. It has a nice ring to it.Doesn’t it? If you think so,you’re not alone, because energy independence has been the dream of American president for decades, and never more so than in the past few years, when the most recent oil price shock has been partly responsible for kicking off the great recession.“Energy independence” and its rhetorical(修辞的) companion “energy security” are, however, slippery concepts that are rarely through, though. They value the environmental quality they preserve over their oil imports from abroad.Vast areas of the United States are offlimits to oil exploration and production in the name of environmental protection. It is a good idea always to be friendly to everyone in the neighbourhood.Thiscan not only make you get along well with them, but will also be a form of protection for your family and home.If you wave as they drive by or offer a friendly hello while they are out in their yard,it shows that you like them and try to be friendly. If you are cordial(热诚的) to them, they are much more likely to watch out for any wrong doings going on around your home while you are out and let you know if anything happens.Another way of being a good neighbour is to be helpful in times of need.If you see that they are in need of a helping hand doing something or in times of difficulty,it is good to offer your help.Even though you haven’t talked a lot to the people down the street, they are willing to take the time to help you because you have ever helped them when they were in need.In conclusion,if you respect their personal privacy, treat them cordially and be helpful when you see they are in need, you will be a great neighbour and anyone would be happy to have you next door!4.What should we do when a new neighbour moves in?A.Go to offer some advice.B.Go to say hello immediately.C.Wave politely through the window.D.Wait and see when and how to pay a visit.5.If we are always friendly to neighbours,we can ________.A.have our own privacyB.know more about their lifeC.make close friends with themD.keep our family members safe6.What’s the main idea of Paragraph 4?A.A friend in need is a friend indeed.B.Everybody sometimes gets into trouble.C.The neighbours should help each other.D.People needn’t talk a lot to their neighbou rs.7.As a good neighbour,a person should always be ________.A.brave,honest and kindB.helpful, strong and strictC.honest, active and friendlyD.respectful, friendly and helpfulⅡ.完形填空(2015·河北衡水中学高三一模)Face Adversity(逆境) with a SmileI told my friend Graham that I often cycle the two miles from my house to the
