剑桥雅思18 作文 test4The Allure of the Unreachable: Why We Desire What We Cannot Have There's an undeniable allure to the things just beyond our grasp. Whether it's a coveted designer handbag, a job opportunity out of reach, or even a person we can't seemto get close to, the unattainable holds a peculiar power over our desires. This phenomenon, observed across cultures and throughout history, begs the question: why are we so drawn to what we cannot have? One explanation lies within the very nature of desire itself. As humans, we are wired to strive, to seek out challenge and novelty. The easily obtainable loses its luster quickly, fading into the background of the mundane. The unattainable, however, remains perpetually exciting, wrapped in an aura of mystery and possibility. It becomes an object of fascination, fueling our imaginations and keeping us engaged in a continuous pursuit. This chase is further intensified by the scarcity principle. We tend to value things more highly when they are perceived as rare or limited. The unattainable, by definition, falls into this category, automatically elevating its desirability. This principle is exploited in various aspects of life, from limited edition products to exclusive clubs, all playing on our innate desire for the unique and exceptional. The pursuit of the unattainable also taps into our inherent need for self-improvement. We often associate these elusive goals with personal growth and advancement. Achieving them becomes a symbol of success, a testament to our capabilities. The challenge itself is seen as an opportunity to learn, to push our boundaries, and ultimately, to become better versions of ourselves. However, the allure of the unattainable can be a double-edged sword. While it can serve as a powerful motivator, it can also lead to frustration and disappointment. The constant yearning for something just out of reach can leave us feeling unfulfilled and discontent with what we already possess. It's crucial to strike a balance, to appreciate the journey as much as the destination, and to recognize that true fulfillment comes not from external validation, but from within ourselves. Ultimately, the desire for the unattainable is a complex interplay of psychological, social, and even evolutionary factors. It's a testament to our inherent drive to explore, to challenge ourselves, and to constantly strive for something more. While this pursuit can be fraught with challenges, it is also afundamental part of the human experience, shaping our desires, motivating our actions, and ultimately, defining who we are.。

名师点题剑桥雅思7作文:范文Today, many students attend university to acquire skills and knowledge that are intended to prepare them for future employment. This trend is understandable. After all, in this era of financial turmoil and massive layoffs, the majority of young people view future job security as one of their most pressing priorities in life. Also, across the world, students, tuition costs are rising each year, despite the tumultuous economic meltdown. These days, it is no exaggeration to say that pursuing higher education is very much like making a major investment; thus, university students and their parents tend to expect reasonable rates of return, which can be, to some extent, quantified by the graduates, starting salaries and benefits. The societal demand is there as well. Being bogged down in stagnancy or recessions, societies are hoping for more productive and more responsive workforces to haul them out of the quagmire. In spite of all these, I wish to point out that merely equipping students with job skills may defeat the very purpose of universities. It is true that higher education should meet the social demand for a more powerful workforce. Yet realistically, it would be hard for university administrators and faculty to identify accurately what technical skills and knowledge will be needed three or four years from now, when most technologies have been updating themselves on a daily basis. What will also be at risk is students’ capacity to innovate as true innovations require thorough understanding of the fundamental theories guiding their predecessors. The main function of a university in this age of crisis, therefore, should be to build core curricula that stress the cultivation of employment skills and at the same time, to provide students with elective courses on theoretical knowledge about their field of study, which can facilitate their grasp of the employment skills and meanwhile ensure their capacity to apply those skills innovatively.。
雅思作文批改英语Certainly! Here is a sample of an IELTS essay correction:Original Essay:In the modern world, technology plays a crucial role in our daily lives. It has made our lives more convenient and comfortable. For instance, we can now do our shopping online without leaving our homes. Additionally, technology has also helped us to communicate with people from different parts of the world. However, there are also some negative aspects of technology. For example, it can lead to privacy issues and cybercrimes.Corrected Essay:In the contemporary era, technology is an integral component of our daily existence. It has significantly enhanced our convenience and comfort. For example, online shopping allows us to purchase goods without the need to leave our homes. Furthermore, technology has facilitated communication with individuals from various regions across the globe. Nonetheless, there are also certain adverse effects associated with technology. For instance, it can result in privacy concerns and the escalation of cybercrime.Corrections and Justifications:1. "modern world" → "contemporary era": The term "contemporary era" is more formal and academic, which is suitable for IELTS essays.2. "plays a crucial role" → "is an integral component": Th is phrase is more precise and academic.3. "it has made" → "it has significantly enhanced": "Enhanced" is a stronger verb that conveys a more positive impact.4. "do our shopping online" → "online shopping allows us to purchase goods": This rephrasing is more formal and avoids contractions.5. "without leaving our homes" → "without the need to leave our homes": Adding "the need to" makes the sentence more formal.6. "Additionally" → "Furthermore": "Furthermore" is a more formal conjunction that adds information.7. "different parts of the world" → "various regions across the globe": This is a more varied and specific way to describe global reach.8. "However" → "Nonetheless": "Nonetheless" is a more formal and appropriate conjunction for an essay.9. "also s ome negative aspects" → "certain adverse effects": This phrase is more formal and precise.10. "can lead to" → "can result in": "Result in" is a more formal way to express causation.11. "cybercrimes" → "the escalation of cybercrime": This rephrasing emphasizes the increase in cybercrime, which is a more serious concern.Remember, in IELTS writing, it's essential to use a variety of vocabulary, complex sentence structures, and maintain a formal tone throughout the essay.。
剑雅16 test4小作文英文回答:The passage discusses the concept of "aesthetic experience," arguing that it is a subjective and personal experience that cannot be quantified or measured. The author draws on the work of several philosophers and psychologists to support this claim, including Kant, Dewey, and Langer.Kant argues that aesthetic experience is adisinterested pleasure, meaning that it is not motivated by any desire for a particular outcome. He also argues that aesthetic experience is universal, meaning that it is not limited to any particular culture or time period.Dewey argues that aesthetic experience is a form of active engagement with the world. He believes that aesthetic experience is not simply a matter of passively receiving pleasure from an object, but rather a process ofactively creating meaning and understanding.Langer argues that aesthetic experience is a form of symbolic expression. She believes that art is a way of communicating ideas and emotions that cannot be expressed through language. The author concludes by arguing that aesthetic experience is a valuable and important part of human life. He believes that aesthetic experience can help us to understand ourselves and the world around us.中文回答:本文讨论了“审美体验”的概念,认为它是一种主观而个人的经历,无法量化或衡量。
智课网IELTS备考资料剑5 Test 4大作文Some people believe that children are given too much free time. They feel that this time should be used to do more school work. How do you think children should spend their free time? Sample AnswerThe issue of whether children are given too much free time, in my opinion, does not rely on how much time they are given, but on what kinds of activities they do to utilise period of time. Taking full advantages of the free time out of school can benefit children a lot.Apparently, to promote children’s intellectual, emotional, and physical development, there are a variety of ways, which are not merely restricted to formal educational approaches. For instance, social activities can effectively enhance children’s sense of team spirit and their abilities to cooperate and communicate, which are even more significant than IQ in their future careers. They should be encouraged to participate in voluntary activities and sports, which can benefit them both physically and mentally.Besides, children who have interests in arts can have an abundance of time to foster their special talents, by which they will not necessarily have to grow up to be pianists or painters, etc., but they might benefit from these useful resources psychologically, i.e. these kinds of leisure activities can help them ease their minds, overcome their loneliness and acquire a sounding wellbeing, especially when they are confronted with adversities when they become adults in the competitive modern society. What’s more, without the direct supervision of a parent or a teacher, they have to learn the abilities of time management, and hence the awareness of that one should take responsibility of oneself will be elevated. In conclusion, no matter in what respects, children should be encouraged to spend more time out of school, rather than focus only on studies, since activities in free time can help them promote their development, foster their special talents and learn the abilities of time management.满分要素剖析语言表达本文多出现长句、复合句,作者利用连词等句子各部分紧密连接,逻辑性强,行文流畅,语言表达清晰,准确表达作者观点。

How do we achieve it? The definition of happiness varies across different classes. One can conceive of two types:material and spiritual. My opinion is this:the spiritual is much more vital than material and giving is much more fundamental than getting.First of all,a happy person is not a person in a certain set of circumstances, but rather a person with a certain set of attitudes. In other words,it is difficult for anyone to accomplish what he wants to without a great deal of effort. After a long and arduous effort, though he may accomplish what he hoped, there is nothing left but suffering and pain, because of the enormous effort expended. This trap can be easily avoided. T o reach the happiness we seek, the only thing we should do is to change our attitude, namely, the way we look at the world around us.Second, happiness exists not in having or being, but rather in doing. Most people try to find their unique happiness throughimagination and daydreaming. Obviously, everyone daydreams sometimes. But,without action,no one can come close to finding the happiness he seeks. Happiness and bliss cannot be found merely through daydreams, but must be sought through action, through doing. In summary, happiness is more attainable than people realize. People ought not waste time and effort searching for peace, contentment, and joy in the world outside. There is no happiness in having or in getting but only in giving. People must reach out, share, smile, and hug one another. Happiness is a perfume one cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on oneself.Cambridge IELTS6TEST24Successful sports professionals can earn a great deal more money than people in other important professions. Some people think this is fully justified while others think it is unfair.Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.范⽂:What delectation may we get from professional sports stars, visually or spiritually? Andhow could people measure the value of somet hing “invisible”? Facing this seemingly simple question, people tend to draw a conclusion: is it fair for muscle men to have higher salarythan other professions? Before we digging in,it is a must to answer two questions that are mentioned at the very beginning. It is widely acknowledged that everyone lives by selling something. In the light of the statement sportsman earns fortune and reputation depending on their diligence and talents. However, how can we scale the worth of it? Through it may be possible to measure the valueof material goods in terms of money; it is extremely difficult to estimate the true value of the services which sportsman performs for us. There are times when we would willingly sacrifice almost everything we possess to meet our requirement. Y et we might grudge spending a feefor the basic needs in daily life. The conditions of society are such that skills(sportsman’s performs)have to be measured in the same way that goods are measured at a supermarket. Finally and naturally, more fans, higher pay checks.Loving on to the second question: the equal or fair issue. The only certainty in the universe is that nothing is certain. Namely, anything exists in a relative situation. Fair or equalissue is not an exception. Sportsmen who gain a tremendous popularity worldwide can andwill earn sufficient money. The dominant factor is that as public figures, they have the responsibilities to pay attention not only to financial but also social benefits at the same time.Using their public image, they contribute more than average people living and working inthe society, undoubtedly. In summary, that sportsman earns more money than others is absolutely sensible. Whatwe should concern is the pattern they take.Cambridge IELTS6TEST3Some people believe that visitors to other countries should follow local customs and behaviors.Others disagree and think that the host country should welcome cultural differences.Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.范⽂:Religions and customs vary considerably from culture to culture. 雅思13test4小作文英文回答:1. Do you agree that the government should ban cars from city centers to improve air quality?I believe that the government should ban cars from city centers to improve air quality. Car emissions are a major contributor to air pollution in cities, and banning cars from these areas would help to reduce the levels of harmful pollutants in the air. The pie charts below show units of electricity production by fuel source in Australia and France in 1980 and 2000.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
考生原文
The pie graph demonstrates units of electricity production by fuel source in Australia and France in 1980 and 2000.
As we can see in the pie graph, the production of Coal occupied the largest among these sources
in Australia, which increased dramatically from 50 units to 130 units between 1980 and 2000. Except Coal, the Hydro Power went up from 20 units to 36 units in the 2 decades. There was a downward trend of Nature Gas and Oil, bottoming at 2 units in 2000 while the production of Nature Gas was twice of Oil in 1980.
In France, there was a dramatic upward trend of Nuclear Power, peaking at 126 units in 2000. The Coal kept the same at 25 units from 1980 to 2000. At the same time, the Oil increased only 5 units. Surprisingly, the Nature Gas which was 5 times of Hydro Power in 1980(5 units) decreased dramatically, arriving at 2 units in 2000, and Hydro Power had the same production in 2000. To summarize, the total production in Australia and France both increased from 1980 to 2000. (182 words )
