I don’t think this is a good phenomenon. For lack of exercise, our body will become weaker and weaker. In turn, it will affect the efficiency of our study. Therefore, in my opinion, we should still attach importance to exercise in Senior year and take slight exercise in our spare time. Not only will it relieve the heavy pressure of study, but also it will refresh us from the tiredness of daily boring life. What’s more, doing exercise leads to healthy body, which is of vital importance in a long run.In the end, I hope that everybody can balance study and life and have a happy senior year. That’s all. Thank you.。

In conversation he expressed little joy and it seemed that his life was drawing to a close. When his heart problems led to operation, Jim went through it successfully, and a full recovery was expected. Within days, however, his heart was not beating properly. Jim was rushed back to operation, but nothing was found to explain the cause of his illness. He died on the operating table on the day before his 48th birthday.Dr. Bruce Smoller, a psychologist(心理学家), had had many conversations with him, and the more he learned, the stranger he realized Jim’s case was. When Jim was a child, his father, a teacher, suffered a heart attack and stayed home to recover. One morning Jim asked his father to look over his homework, promising to come home from school at noon to pick it up. His father agreed, but when Jim returned his father had died. Jim’s father was 48.“I think all his life Jim believed he killed his father,” Dr. Smoller says. “He felt that if he had not asked him to look at his homework, his father would have lived. It used to be thought that this couldn’t be helped, but new studies show that people of any age can train their brains to work faster. “Your brain is a learning machine,” says University of California scientist Dr. Michael Merzenich. Given the right tools, we can train our brains to act like they did when we were younger. All that’s required is the practice designed just for the purpose: a few exercises for the mind.Merzenich has developed a computer-based training method to speed up the process(过程)in which the brain deals with information(posit science. com). Since much of the data we receive comes through speech, the Brain Fitness Program works with language and hearing to better speed and accuracy(准确性).Over the course of training, the program starts asking you to distinguish(辨别)sounds(between “dog” and “bog”, for example)at an increasingly faster speed. It’s a bit like tennis instructor, says Merzenich, hitting balls at you faster and faster to keep you challenged(受到挑战). You may start out slow, but before long you’re pretty quick. The biggest finding in brain research in the last ten years is that the brain at any age is highly plastic. If you ask your brain to learn, it will learn. And it may even speed up while in the process. To keep your brain young and plastic you can do one of a million new activities that challenge and excite you: playing table tennis or bridge, doing crossword puzzles, learning a language. “When it comes to preventing ageing, you really do use it or lose it’,” says Barbara Sahrawian, professor at Cambridge University.32.Dr. Merzenich’ s training method mainly depends on ________A.speech training B.computer languagesC.the activities one joins in D.the information being dealt with33.By saying “the brain at any age is highly plastic”, the writ er probably means the brain can be ________ A.used B.mastered C.developed D.researched34.What can we learn from the text? ________A.Practice makes a quick mind.B.Brain research started ten yeas ago.C.Dr. Merzenich is a scientist in computer.D.People believed nothing could stop the brain slowing down.35.Which of the following agrees with the writer’s idea? ________A.The training methods work better for the old.B.People should use the brain to stop it from ageing.C.The training of the brain should start at an early age.D.It’s necessary to take part in as many activities as possible.第二节(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项.选项中有两项为多余选项.Giant Panda Is No Longer EndangeredA leading international group has taken the giant panda off its endangered list thanks to decades of conservation efforts, but China’s government is unwilling to accept the change, saying it did not view the status of the country’s beloved symbol as any less serious. The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)said in a report that the panda is now classified as a “vulnerable” instead of “endangered” species, reflecting its growing numbers in the wild in southern China.36 That is the result of work by Chinese agencies to carry out hunting bans and expand forest reserves. In a statement, China’s State Forestry Administration said that it doubted the classification change because pandas’ natural habitats have been mainly separated by human causes. The animals live in small, isolated groups of as few as 10pandas that struggle to reproduce and face the risk of disappearing altogether. If we relax our conservation work, the populations and habitats of giant pandas would still suffer a great loss. 37 Therefore, we’re not being alarmist(危言耸听的)by continuing to emphasize the panda species’ endangered status.38 John Howard, a senior official at World Society for the Protection of Animals, expressed his satisfaction over the effective measures taken by the Chinese government. The Chinese government and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF)first established the Owling National Nature Reserve in Sichuan province in 1980. Wild panda numbers have since slowly recovered as China punishes the skin trade. 39Over the last few decades, international groups and the Chinese government have worked to save wild pandas and breed them in face of their extinction. It is not surprising that the WWF, whose logo has been a panda since 1961, celebrated the panda’s re-classification. 40A.As a result, our achievements would be quickly lost.B.The wild panda population jumped to 1, 864in 2014from 1, 596in 2004.C.Still, other animal protection organizations praised the recovery of the pandas.D.Panda has long been a symbol of China and the global conservation movement.E.And China gradually expanded its protected forest areas to cover 1.4million hectares now.F.Some pandas have been sent to zoos around the world as a gesture of Chinese good will.G.It says that long-term efforts do pay off when political will and engagement come together.第三部分完形填空(共20小题;每小题1.5分,满分30分)阅读下面短文,掌握其大意,然后从36~55题所给的四个选项(A、B、C和D)中选出最佳选项,并在答题卡上将该项涂黑.It’s fourteen years since I left the Philippines to live with my family in the USA. I take the problem more and more seriously for the following reason. First of all, as it is known to people, pets make so much noise that trouble residents a lot. What’s more, it is widely accepted that animal waste pollutes the environment, where makes people quite uncomfortable. Many owners like taking their pets to public places where it may frighten children or even bite people. The mostly important is thatpets can spread some diseases and this has attracted much attention. Take all these factors into consideration, I sincerely hope that I can get help from you and expect the media do something for this.Yours truly,Wang Lin 第二节书面表达(满分25分)请根据对下面这幅图的理解,写一篇100字左右的英语短文;开头已给出.请包括以下内容:1.简要描述图画内容;2.联系实际说说自己的看法和建议(各两条).提示:雾霾smogAs is shown in the picture,四川省成都市第七中学2017届高三下学期入学考试英语试卷答案1~5.CBACA 6~10.CBACB 11~15.CBBCC 16~20.ACABB21~25.BDABC 26~30.ADADC 31~35.BACDB 36~40.BACEG41~45.ACDBA 46~50.DADBD 51~55.CABBA 56~60.CCDAC61.surveyed62.aged63.while / and64.which65.as66.an67.dependence68.are going69.about70.constantly71.and改成but72.anything改成something73.reason改成reasons74.去掉it75.noise that ∧they trouble76.where改成which77.it改成they78.mostly改成most79.Take改成Taking80.do前加to/can/should81.As is vividly shown in the picture, a tiny man living in the city is standing there wearing a mask, terrified by the heavy smog, which looks like a huge frightening monster. What the picture mirrors is clearly heavy smog and severe air pollution. Confronted with potential risk of sickness, people are always forced to wear masks in order to avoid breathing poisonous air. With smog getting increasingly serious, environmental protection has become an urgent issue for human beings. As a saying goes, great things may be done by mass effort. For one thing, our government should develop more green and energy-saving ways to lower the amount of polluted air. For another, every single person should raise their awareness of environmental protection and use more public transport. Only if we spare no effort to protect our environment can we enjoy a greener and better life.。

AA year after graduation, I was offered a position teaching a writing class. Teaching was a profession I had never seriously considered, though several of my stories had been published. I accepted the job without hesitation, as it would allow me to wear a tie and go by the name of Mr. Davis. My father went by the same name, and I liked to imagine people getting the two of us confused. “Wait a minute!” someone might say, “are you talking about Mr. Davis there tired man, or Mr. Davis the respectable scholar?”The position was offered at the last minute, and I was given two weeks to prepare, a period I spent searching for briefcase (公文包) and standing before my full-length mirror, repeating the words, “Hello, class. I’m Mr. Davis.”Sometimes I would give myself an aggressive voice. Sometimes I would sound experienced. But when the day eventually came, my nerves kicked in and the true Mr. Davis was there. I sounded not like a thoughtful professor, but rather a 12-year-old boy.I arrived in the classroom with paper cards designed in the shape of maple leaves. I had cut them myself out of orange construction paper. I saw nine students along a long table. I 2handed out the cards, and the students wrote down their names and fastened them to their breast pockets as I required.“All right then,” I said. “O key, here we go.” Then I opened my briefcase and realized that I had never thought beyond this moment. I had been thinking that the students would be the first to talk, offering their thoughts and opinions on the events of the day. I had imagined that I would sitat the edge of the desk, overlooking a forest of hands. Every student would yell. “Calm down, you’ll all get your turn. One at a time, one at a time!”A terrible silence ruled the room, and seeing no other opinions, I inspected the students to pull out their notebooks and write a brief essay related to the theme of deep disappointment.21. Left in a bank it will hardly keep its value, however high the interest rate. Only a brave man, or a very rich one, dares to buy and sell on the Stock Market. Today it seems that one of the best ways to protect your savings, and even increase your wealth is to buy beautiful objects from the past. Here I am going to offer some advice on collecting antique clocks, which I personally consider are among the most interesting of antiques.I sometimes wonder what a being from another planet might report back about our way of life. “The planet Earth is ruled by a mysterious creature that sits or stands in a room and makes astrange ticking sound. It has a face with twelve black marks and two hands. Men can do nothing without its permission, and it fastens its young round people’s wrists so that everywhere men go they are still under its control. This creature is the real master of Earth and men are its slaves.”Whether or not we are slaves of time today depends on our culture and personality, but it is believed that many years ago kings kept special slaves to tell the time. Certain men were very clever at measuring the time of day according to the beating of their own hearts. They were made to stand in a fixed place and every hour or so would shout the time. So it seems that the first clocks were human beings. However, men quickly found more convenient and reliable ways of telling the time.3They learned to use the shadows cast by the sun. They marked the hours on candles, used sand in hour- glasses, and invented water-clocks. Indeed, any serious student of antique should spend as much time as possible visiting palaces, stately homes and museums to see some of the finest examples of clocks from the past.Antique clocks could be very expensive, but one of the joys of collecting clocks is that it is still possible to find quite cheap ones for your own home. After all, if you are going to be ruled by time, why not invest in an antique clock and perhaps make a future profit?25. By quoting (引用) the remark of a being from another planet, the author intends to____.A. suggest human beings are controlled by a clockB. describe why clocks can rule the planet EarthC. tell readers what clocks look likeD. compare clocks to human beings26. The underlined phrase stately homes in Paragraph 4 means __________.A. state-owned housesB. houses in very good conditionC. grand houses open to the publicD. houses where statesmen meet regularly28. The purpose of the passage is ___________.A. to introduce the culture of antique clocksB. to offer some advice on collecting antique clocksC. to compare different ways to make a future profitD. to explain convenient and reliable ways of telling timeCTell a story and tell it well, and you may open wide the eyes of a child, open up lines of communication in a business, or even open people’s mind to another culture or race.People in many places are digging up the old folk stories and the messages in them. For example, most American storytellers get their tales from a wide variety of sources, cultures, and times. They regard storytelling not only as a useful tool in child education, but also as a meaningful activity that helps adults understand themselves as well as those whose culture may be very different from their own.“Most local stories are based on a larger theme,” American storyteller Opalanga Pughsays, “ Cinderella, or the central idea of a good child protected by her goodness, appears in various forms in almost every culture of the world.”Working with students in schools, Pugh helps them understand their own cultures and the general messages of the stories. She works with prisoner too, helping them knowing who they are by telling sto ries that her listeners can write, direct, and act in their own lives. If they don’t like the story they are living, they can rewrite the story. Pugh also works to help open up lines of communication between managers and workers. “For every advance in business,” she says,“there is a greater need for communication”Storytelling can have a great effect on either side of the manager-worker relationship, she says.Pugh spent several years in Nigeria, where she learned how closely storytelling was linked to the everyday life of the people there. The benefits of storytelling are found everywhere, she says.“I learned how people used stories to spread their culture,” she says, “ What I do is to4focus on the value of the stories that people can translate into their own daily world of affairs. We are all storytellers. We all have a story to tell. We tell everybody’s story.”29. What do we learn about American storyteller from Paragraph 2?A. They share the same way of storytelling.B. Strangely, it is in a town that calls itself Butterfly USA, Pacific Grove, California. The town of Pacific Grove loves the butterflies. Every year they have a parade and hundreds of children dress up as butterflies. Monarch butterflies are the town mascot. Tourism is very important, and many people come to see the butterflies. The butterflies are good for the development of the town.In 1981 there were so many butterflies it looked like it was raining butterflies. Tens of thousands of Monarchs stayed on tree branches near Pacific Grove. Now there are not so many. The building goes on a little bit at a time, and you don’t notice it day by day. Over time, you can see that there has been a lot of development. As new buildings go up, many trees are cut down. This reduces the natural homes for the butterflies.Monarchs travel hundreds of miles each year, returning to the same woods, often to the same trees. The female Monarchs need milkweed to lay their eggs; the males will follow the females. Millions of Monarchs have traveled regularly along the same path for thousands of years. They start their trip in the mountains of Mexico and travel to the middle part of America. If the woods where the butterflies live are destroyed, the whole species could be lost. There have been Monarch butterflies along the coast of California for as long as man can remember, but no one is sure how much longer they will last.33. Why are Monarch butterflies important to Pacific Grove?A. They may disappear.B. They come to stay every year.C. They help develop the town’s tourism.D. They give a name to Pacific G rove.34.
