A: But why? Last time you told me long hair made you handsome.
B: Well, now I don't think so. Maybe a change in hairstyle will change
my luck.
A: Your luck? What do you mean?

Directions: In this section, you will hear several short passages. At the end of each passage, you will hear some questions. Both the passage and the questions will be spoken only once. After you hear a question, you must choose the best answer from the four choices marked A), B), C) and D).
Passage One
According to a recent study, the modern lifestyle, which puts people
under constant stress, could damage major organs and lead to heart
attacks and kidney diseases. For example, due to the stress of modern
life, uncontrolled high blood pressure among people in their 30s, 40s
and 50s will lead to an increase in heart disease and stroke.
Everyone has an inner space and an outer space. The inner space is his
body, mind and emotions. The outer space refers to material riches,
luxuries and comforts. Lifestyle disorders are caused due to poverty in
inner space and richness in outer space. Nobody cares for changing the
inner space while everybody wants to change the outer space. This
imbalance between the inner and outer spaces brings about a change in
mind, brain and consciousness for living in health, harmony and
happiness. But we should remember that lifestyle is a
choice that comes from mind. Mind is confused by outer space. Peace is
our essential nature. So we have to choose peace or reject it for the sake
of outer space. What is required is to change the mind. No
outer means can bring about change in inner space. Modern scientists
and researchers who are always looking for the material cause in the
outer space will never find any solution even if they spend millions in
research.
