ROTATIONAL CASTING
HIGHL Y REACTIVE POL YURETHANE SYSTEMS FOR COVERING ROLLERS AND PIPES
NO RELEASE AGENTS As no molds are necessary, there is no danger of contami-nation of the core by release agents.
THICK COVERINGS The high reactivity of the Baytec ®system allows the
application of the covering to a thickness of over 20 mm in one pass using suitable nozzles.
MULTI-MODULE COVERING
Multi-layer coverings of varying color, thickness and elastomer hardness are possible.
NO MOLDS
The covering of rollers and other rotationally symmetrical components is possible without molds – an economic advan-tage particularly in the case of large articles and varying diameters.
CONTOUR COVERINGS With the rotational casting process, even the covering of conical shapes presents no problem.
STREAMLINED PRODUCTION
Some time-consuming produc-tion steps become redundant:no casting molds, no preheat-ing, no pre-baking of adhesion promoters, no post-curing (in systems based on polyether and polyester). In this way ex-tremely short production times are achieved. The advantage for the producer is very short delivery times. The advantage for the user lies in reduced storage of spare rollers.NO POST-FINISHING In the case of conveyor belt rollers, the obligatory finish-turn and grinding are no longer needed. Rotational casting achieves a sufficiently smooth surface for this application.
ENERGY SAVING
The standard system based on polyether is processed at room temperature. Post-curing at high temperature is unnecessary, both here and with the poly-ester-based system.
MINIMAL LOSS OF MATERIAL
The rotational casting process allows roller coverings to be produced with minimal over-build.
ADVANTAGES COMMON TO ALL SYSTEMS:
OUTSTANDING
RESISTANCE TO WEAR Systems based on polycarbon-ate and polyester excel in this respect.
GOOD ALL-ROUND CHARACTERISTICS The polyether-based system has proved itself in numerous applications since 1985.OPTIMUM HYDROLYSIS RESISTANCE
An advantage of the polycar-bonate-based system which is particularly effective, for exam-ple, when used in paper-making machines.
PRESSURE RESISTANT INSULATION
Syntactic pipe insulation systems, developed for off-shore-pipeline insulation in deep water, in which conven-tional rigid foam systems fail.
PROTECTION AGAINST CORROSION
The base layer system has also proved itself under extreme conditions when additional pro-tection is required against water vapor diffusion.
