教学目标:

1) Handle new vocabularies and phrases:

2)Master sentences

3) Grammar:Present progressive tense

4) Talk about what people are doing.

重点:

1) Usage of words and phrases in present progressive tense

2) Simple actions with present progressive tense: cleaning, talking on the phone,

watching TV, and making soup…

难点:

Describe what they are doing in their communications correctly.

Sub + am/is/are/ +V.ing

学习指导:Task-based language teaching、create the language situation.

教学设计:

Step 1. Warming-up (5 minutes)

1. Greet the Ss and free talk with Ss。

T:We are having an English class now. What are we doing now?

(Help the students to answer: We're having an English class now.)

Step 2. Presentation(10 minutes)

1. Learn the new words and phrases using some pictures. newspapers, use, soup, wash, watch TV, talk on the phone, and wash the dishes...

2. Let’s enjoy a video! (Ss pay attention to v-ing.)

3. Show some pictures on the screen and ask some students to perform the actions.

e.g. T: It’s 6:30 now. What are you doing?

S: I am swimming. (Help him/her to answer)

T: Look!What is he /she doing?

Ss: He /she is swimming.

Teach: reading a newspaper, making soup, watching TV, cleaning, talking on the phone...as the same way.

4. Give Ss some time and try to remember the new words and expressions.

Step 3 Work on 1a.(5 minutes)

.Ss read the activities and look at the pictures. Then match the activities with pictures.

6. Check the answers with Ss.

Step 4 work on 1b. Listening (5 minutes)

1. T: What are Jenny, John, Dave and Mary doing? Now let’s listen to the tape, find

out the right activities from 1a.

2. Play the recording for the Ss twice.

3. Ss listen to the recording and write the numbers from 1a.

Step 5 Pair work (1c) (5 minutes)

1.Five an example:

First ask and answer questions about what people are doing in 1a.

A: What’s he doing? B: He’s using the computer.

Then do an action and ask:

A: What are you doing? B: I'm listening to a CD.

What is he /she doing? What are they doing ?

2. Ss make conversations by themselves and practice the conversations. Step 6 summarize.(5 minutes)

1. What can you find?

What is she doing? She is doing homework.

What are you doing? I am running.

What are they doing? They are making soup.

2.Explain the Present Progressive Tense.

习题设计(10 minutes)
