Last year, I have finished an American sitcom, friends, which is my favourite TV series. For me, it’s not only a sitcom, but also a philosophy about life. Life in friends is that kind of life I have always dreamed of.
I want to live like Monica, having a husband like Chandler. After having experienced so many things, Chandler finally proposed to Monica, said ‘I thought that it mattered what I said or where I said it. Then I realized the only thing that matters is that you, you make me happier than I ever t hought I could be. And if you’ll let me, I will spend the rest of my life trying to make you feel the same way. Monica, will you marry me?’ This is the love that I want in my life.
In friends, the most moving part is the friendship between them. Rachel and Monica have lived together for 4 years. When Rachel moved out, she said ‘this is the end of an era’. In the last season, when Chandler and Monica want to move out of the city center for their kid, they prepared a room in their new house for Joey. Like friends’ theme song goes, ‘I'll be there for you when the rain starts to pour. I'll be there for you like I've been there before. I'll be there for you 'cause you're there for me too.’ That is the friendship that I want in my life. In our best time, we have each other.
In the play, they all have a rough career, except Ross. Rachel starts her first job when she was 20 years old. Joey received a decent drama when he have been an actor for 10 years. Chandler starts working in advertising which he is really interested in at his 30s. Fortunately, they all know what is they are really interested in, and fight for it. That is the career life I wanna have in my life.
True love, best friends, a work that I really love, this is the life I have alway dreamed of.
