Will it be different from junior high? Well, there are certainly many differences between junior high and senior high, but there are also some things that are the same in every school in China. What about schools in other countries? Do students learn differently and have different experiences? Are schools all over the world the same?This is the subject of our first unit. Today we are going to look at schools in the United Kingdom and try to work out if they are the same or different from schools in China. Here are four pictures that show some aspects of school life in the UK. Please look at the pictures, read the instructions and try to determine the differences between schools in China and the UK.Step 4:1.Please say something about the four pictures.Picture 1Huge campus and low-rise buildings: In the United Kingdom, we can see huge campus and low-rise buildings in this picture. It is the biggest difference from schools in China. Schools in China usually have a large enough campus to make sure students have enough space to study and play in. But most school buildings are taller, at least three storeys.Picture 2 Lockers for every student: In the United Kingdom, there are rows of lockersin the classrooms for students to put their stationery(文具), books, exercise-books and other things. In China students bring what they need for lessons to school and then take it all back home after school. Most schools in China do not have the equipment in the classroom.Picture 3 Fewer students in each class: In the United Kingdom, there are fewer students in a class, no more than 30 per class. In China, There are usually more students in high school, perhaps 50 to 60per class. Recently some schools are beginning to limit(限制)the number of students in each class.Picture 4 At ease with our teacher: In the United Kingdom, students have a close relationship withtheir teachers. They feel at ease and comfortable with them. It is similar in China. Nowadays, lots of teachers and students have established a good relationship with each other. Hi, everybody, I would like to tell you about my new school life in No 1 Middle School.First of all, I want to thank my teachers and classmates for their help.After three years of hard work, I graduated from junior middle school. When I returned to school, I thought my dream life on campus began. Upon arriving at No 1 Middle School, I developed an interest in it. When we meet on campus, we greet each other. During break time, he often comes to see us.Yesterday we had a class meeting. Our class teacher came up with an idea that we should help each other. So we made a decision to donate some money to those students whose families were poor.We have to learn many subjects and cannot drop any of them.But I am fond of computer lessons, because I can surf the Internet and e-mail my friends to give them some messages.But I am not happy with the homework, which is as heavy as what I used to get in junior school. Everyday we are busy doing homework. We are only allowed to play basketball on the school field on weekends.My home is far away from our school. So I have to live in the school instead of going home everyday. Though my parents pay me a visit every week, and I also can call to inform them of my situation, I still miss them.Everything is available in our school.
