1 基于Sb薄膜实现突破衍射极限记录和读取的方法 摘要:本文提出了一种记录和读取超越衍射极限的微小标记的技术。这一技术的实验是在一个恒定的线速度2.0m/s旋转,用SiN薄膜分隔的Sb和GeSbTe多重结构的光盘上进行的。基于Sb薄膜的非线性光学性质,通过激光波长为686nm,数值孔径为0.6

像高清电视(HDTV)或数字电影,那些高达几十GB的高密度数据存储系统具有很大的吸引力,而且最近关于磁光(MO)和相变媒介(PC)的很多研究一直在进行中。然而,在所有光学记录系统中,激光束光斑大小取决于波长()和镜头的数值孔径(NA)的衍射极限。例如,一个存储容量4.7GB的DVD系统,是用波长635nm和0.6的数值孔径激光二极管(LD)来限制光斑大小在0.8μm。一个简单的方法来克服衍射极限就是使用一个短波长,高数值孔径的激光二极管,Kato等人用430nm波长的倍频效应(SHG)在一个相变磁盘上已经实现了高达15GB的存储密度。而另一种增加存储密度的技术是超分辨(SR)技术。它在使用MO(磁光盘)媒介找回大小低于衍射极限的标记方面发展尤为突出,遮蔽部分光斑并把这个标记印刷在读出层2,3上。Tominaga和Shintani等人也把SR技术应用于相变光盘4,5。Wu等人对SR结构进行了理论研究,并建议使用在不同温度下的具有不同折射率的掩膜层,如具有高能带间隙6-8的半导体膜。为了进一步的增加存储密度使其高达数百GB,Betzig等人9已经提出光学近场记录方法。在这个系统中,一个金属涂层的光纤探针是用作记录头。光纤的一端连接着LD,另一端是削尖使它在LD波长以内。发自光纤尖端的光形成了在50nm的短距离内呈指数递减的近场。通过用近场光学扫描显微(NSOM),使纤维尖端接近MO薄膜,记录一个60nm大小标记。这项技术的产生表明了提高数据存储密度的潜能到达了太级。然而,这项技术数据转化速率太慢,从而使它不能运用在实际的数据存储设备上。 我们的目标是找到一种技术能记录和检索小于衍射极限大小信号,并在光盘高速旋转的基本实验下来验证该技术的正确性。

Lett .,1998,73(15):2078 - 2080 . 杭州电子科技大学本科毕业论文外文翻译 2 图1(a)由NSOM常规记录 (b)提出的新方法 图1(a)显示了在NSOM下的一个典型的记录系统。在金属涂层光纤的一端开了一个小孔来形成近场,并且近场传播到记录层的距离要求很短。通过所谓的剪切力使小孔和表面之间的距离控制在10nm以下。因此,记录标记大小通常由孔径的大小决定。到目前为止,已经开展了许多制造更小的孔径并增加发射信号的研究10,11。然而,剪切力来控制距离并不适用,尤其是像CD,DVD这种光盘高速旋转的情况下,光纤尖端极易破碎。从而,人们想出了处理光纤尖端和记录介质作为一个整体如图1(b)中所示。这种方法是,用金属包裹的光纤针尖放在媒介中,而媒介物必须由保护层比如绝缘性物质与记录膜隔离。然而,这种金属必须由金或铝替换成其他的材料,这种材料会随着光照强度或温度特性的改变其光学特性也发生了改变,如非线性光学材料等。这种结构的一个重要优点是,尖端和媒介之间的空气用一种固体层来取代,这是用反应溅射法或其他真空技术形成的,使整个光盘表面厚度误差容易控制在小于1nm。这结构跟PC薄膜的SR很相似。然而,跟SR最大的区别是掩膜层和记录层之间的距离。为了提高光学相位不同引起的信号调制,使用PC薄膜的SR已使用了70-100nm左右相对较大的距离。如上所述,近场传播距离很短,至少小于50nm。因此,为了实际观测到的远场包含更高的空间频率,介质层的厚度必须尽可能薄。此外,在这种多层结构下,每一层之间产生光的干涉有时会影响已记录的标记周围产生的电场,特别是在检索信号的时候更加严重。这意味着这种结构必须很简单。 杭州电子科技大学本科毕业论文外文翻译 3 图2磁盘结构:在这种方法中激光束穿过基片被引入到表层 图2显示了这一新的光盘结构。一个聚碳酸酯盘被用来作为基片,沟槽以1.2μm的信道间距刻在其表面。把Sb薄膜作为该光盘金属层,是因为其响应时间介于结晶和非晶态状态之间。Jiang等人已经证明Sb的可逆转换时间不到1 μs 13。每个薄膜的厚度如图2所示。Sb掩膜层和Ge2Sb2Te2记录层是被20nmSiN薄膜分隔开的。Sb薄层与Ge2Sb2Te2薄层各自以靶子为中心用反应溅射法沉积。为了防止氧化和热休克,这些薄
膜还夹在两个氮化硅薄膜之间。所有的SiN薄层是以沉浸在Ar和N2混合气体中的高纯度的Si为靶子,通过应用rf反应溅射法沉积得到的。记录和检索信号的测量是通过光盘驱动器(DDU-1000,Puls技术有限公司),其测试参数为波长686nm,数值孔径0.6,它在光盘表面的聚焦光斑大小约1.0μm。

尺寸为250,333和500nm的标志被一个光盘驱动检测器在光盘上记录,该光盘驱动检测器以一个恒定2m/s线性速度(CLV)运行,这比普通的CD(1.4m/s)稍快。同样的,信号的读出也在该线速度下进行的。图3显示了每个标记的载噪比。那些333nm和500nm的相对而言比较大的标记在大约0.6nm的衍射极限附近,所以其对应读出功率是不太改变的。然而,当标志减少到250nm大小时,在小于2.0mW读数功率下观察不到载噪比。当读出功率下降时,Shintani等人得到了相同的结果 在他们工作中,发现即使将读出功率增加到4.0mW,大小为200nm的标记的载噪比仍小于10dB。图4显示该项研究中大小为90和100nm的标记点的载噪比。令人惊讶的是,在读数功率在4.3mW附近的时候90nm标志大小的载噪比突然增加从0到超过10dB,100nm的载噪比约15dB。通过常规光学显微镜甚至激光聚焦来克服/4的衍射极限(此光盘系统170纳米)通常是不可能的。然而,在这项工作中,90nm大小的标志点是显然超过10db的载噪比,而且分辨率是低于/7。如图2所示,孔径层和记录层被薄膜20nm厚的SiN薄膜分隔。这个厚度已经薄到可以使孔径附近产生的近场和记录标记发生相互作用。因此,这个结构要比其他的SR结构在远场中包含和探测到更多超越衍射极限的空间频率。从而得出结论是,分辨率不仅取决于超分辨率层的光学非线性特性,也跟孔径和记录层之间距离有关。 杭州电子科技大学本科毕业论文外文翻译 5 图4 低于10nm的标记和2.0m/s的CLV之间的关系 A:100nm B:90nm
因为光盘是半透明的,这种结构的另一个优点是透射光也可用于检测信号。对于这个结论,我们没有开展实验来证明。然而,我们通过计算机模拟发现透射信号比反射信号表现出更好的调制。如果两个信号都被检测到并且用蓝色激光来检索信号,那么在不久的将来,可能不仅获得了更高的载噪比,而且可以在小于50nm的情况下检测信号。我们期待将由更多的实验来估计Sb薄膜的实际响应时间和透射信号读出。 总之,我们提出了一种在高速旋转光盘的条件下检测标记大小低于100nm的技术,而且已经进行了基本的实验。我们通过使用一个激光波长为686nm和数值孔径为0.6的光学系统,从大小为90nm的标记上获得了大于10dB的载噪比, 在此作者要感谢Shizuoka大学的教授Kubo,感谢提供了光盘驱动器检测仪。同样需要感谢研究生Ogawa和Sugiur,以及讨论计算机模拟的Minolta公司的Sato先生
