hang v :逗留,徘徊;悬挂,上吊。
hang 指“逗留,徘徊”时,是不规则动词,过去式是hung ,有下面两个常用短语:
hang about 到处闲逛,四处溜达,围着某人转悠
hang out (在外面)闲荡,闲逛
例句. They often hang out /about in the street .
(1) hang 作“悬挂”解,既可做及物动词也可做不及物动词,过去式是hung .常用短语hang up 表示“挂断电话”. 例句. She hung the c lothes out in the garden .她把衣服晾在花园里了。
Don’t hang up, please!=(hold on ) 请别挂断。
(2)hang 还有“吊死,绞死”的意思,是呈规则变化的及物动词,其过去式是hanged
例句. The man hanged himself. 那个人上吊自杀了。
