Unit 8 (说课稿)If you want to talk, you can go online (reading)My distinguished judges and fellow teachers .Good morning.I’m very glad to have the opportunity to talk about my teaching idea with you. The content of my lesson is “If you want to talk, you can go online”. It is taken from Unit 8, Book 2,which is published by higher education press. My presentation consists of 5 parts:1.the analysis of the teaching material,2.teaching approaches,3.teaching procedures,4.teaching reflection,5.blackboard design.First, I’d like to say something about the analysis of the teaching material.Part 1: Status and function This is Reading in this unit. It is the core of the unit. It plays a very important part in the teaching of this unit. By studying the passage, the students can improve their reading ability and learn more about future life.Meanwhile, the students can receive moral education. In other words, through my teaching, , it will be helpful to make the students learn the rest of this unit if the students can learn it well.Part 2: The analysis of students’ situation As we know, our school is a vocational school. The students have learned English for several years. But they are weak in English learning. They can only understand some simple English words and sentences. Moreover, most of them are afraid to speak English. This unit is about computer. There are many difficult new words and expressions, so it‘s hard for students to grasp them. Thus I should cultivate the students’ interest in t hem and solve different kinds of language problems. Part 3: Teaching aims The knowledge aims are to enable the students to understand,learn and master the new words,expressions and sentence patterns and learn something about computer in future life. The ab ility aims are to develop the students’ abilities of reading, and writing; to improve the students’ reading skills such as skimming, scanning and to cultivate the students’ autonomous learning ability, cooperative learning ability and develop the ability of communication. The emotion aims are to make the students realize the personal use computer.Ok, let’s come to the important points and difficult points: The important points are to get the students to understand the passage better and master the words, phrases and sentence patterns and help the students to express their thoughts by using what they have learnt in the reading. The difficult point is to improve the students’ reading skills.Second, let’s say something about teaching approaches. Part 1:Teaching methods Well, how to achieve the teaching objects? As is known to all, modern teaching demands the teacher should focus on improving the students’ abilities. A good teaching method requires that the teacher should act as a director and the students should be the master and centre of the class. According to the analysis above, I’ll try to use task-based teaching method, communicative teaching method, whole language teaching and multi-media assistance. Task-based teaching method enables the students to read and learn more efficiently and with more curiosity. Communicative teaching method enables the students to be active and creative. Whole language teaching enables the students to master the main idea of the passage quickly. Multi-media assistance ar ouses the students’ interest, curiosity and desire for learning.Part 2: Learning methods As is described in modern educational theory, “the process of obtaining knowledge is more important than obtaining knowledge itself ”, so I will try to arouse the students’’ potential and make them obtain knowledge by means of autonomous study and cooperation, and at the same time employ good learning methods to improve their reading, speaking, and writing abilities. In a word, I’ll use these methods: 1. Cooperative learning can match the students’ different learning styles. 2. Self-learning can stretch the students’ different learning style groups. 3. Competition in groups can arouse the students’ interest in English learning.Third, let’s say something about teac hing procedures To make my class interesting, challengeable, and impressive,I’ll have competition going through the whole class. So at the beginning I’ll divide the students into several groups according to the number of the students. The competition will be held among the groups. I designed 5 steps to deal with this reading passage.Step 1: Lead- in I’ll lead in the new content by some pictures about text on the screen and let students be interested in this class.Step 2: Reading and understanding1. Listening: I will ask the students to listen to the passage and match with names. Then check the answers.2. Skimming:Ask the students to read the passage quickly and and tick the reasons.(p134 10)Then check the answers. The purpose of my design is to enable the students to understand the given material better by using different skills. In this step, the students can catch the main idea of the passage.Step 3 practicing Scanning and careful reading The students are asked to scan the passage quickly or read the passage carefully and then finish the exercises The purpose of my design is to help the students to get a better understanding of the passage. “Task-based” teaching method and the interesting game is used here to develop the students’ ability of communication and also their ability of co-operation will be well trained.Tell the students we should help each other and believe our classmates. I think proper competition can arouse the students’ interest in English learning. If the students can finish these tasks well, they will benefit a lot from their reading. This step can help achieve the teaching aims of understanding and reading the passage of this lesson.Step 4Discussion After the students get a good understanding of the passage, they must learn to use the words, phrases and sentences in the proper situation. It is an activity to consolidate what we have learnt in the class. The purpose of my design: Most students can take part in the activities, especially for the students who have trouble with English study. The group activities without doubt, will encourage them to speak English. This step also leads to the emotion objective of this lesson by summarizing their opinions. That is to have moral education in this step.Step 5 Homework I will summarize the whole lesson, and arrange the assignment according to the students’ different levels. The first assignment and the second assignment are for all the students. The third assignment is for those whose English is good. The purpose of my design: I think homework is so important that the students should learn English as much as they can in class or after class. It is necessary for the students to do some exercises after class to master the knowledge they learned.Next, let’s say something ab out teaching reflection. In this class,the teacher helped the students finish the reading tasks and a lot of practice about the passage. This class was finished in task-based teaching pattern. The key words and the difficult points were dealt with properly in a harmonious atmosphere. The students were the centre of the class. So every activity was for students. Students were very active because there were many activities for them to practice reading. They were interested in them. So I think the teaching project is very important for students to improve their English and arouse their interest. We should try to pay attention to preparing our lessons well. There were also some students who couldn’t speak English or communicate with each other in English fluently. So I will help them in class or after class. Finally, the students of different levels improved their abilities of using language practically in this class.At last, let’s say something about blackboard design The contents of this class are on the sc reen by using multimedia computer. I‘ll write the achievement of each team on the blackboard in order to arouse students' enthusiasm and let them have confidence to learn English well. Meanwhile i will some words and sentences.That is all. Thank you for your listening。
