Is the presidential election of the United States is fair to the public?
At present, more and more countries consider the system of the United States as a model. They imitate their system, cultures, lifestyles. There is no doubt that American system is much fair, including it’s the system of the presidential election. But is it fair to the public? In other word ,is it prefect ?
In my opinion, the presidential election in the US is better than others. But , there are some disadvantages, it is not prefect, in some aspects ,it is not fair.
First, there are only two p arties in America. For the public ,they holds different ideas about some problems, such as how to manage a country, how to deal with some problems with the Europe , China, Russia, Japan and any other countries .And in some problems ,such as education, welfare about the public. From one point,it depends on them .The public doesn’t have too many choices for their profits.
Second , according to the law of the United States , The donation to the same candidates from any individuals should not exceed $1000 ,to all candidates must not exceed $25000. The donation to the same political action committee shall not more than $5000. The donation from the same political party to the national committee shall not more than $20000 .So there is a problem, two parties will spend a lot of money in election. So where is the money from? According to the law, there is no restriction on the money from some companies. If the candidates get money from some companies, in another word , they get money from the rich. If they were elected as the president of the United States. They will protect the interests of some companies, the rich. So how about the poor? What about the public?
And in America, most councilors are the white , and few councilors are from the poor and workers. So how about their interests？There is no doubt, it is unfair to them.
Even there are many problems on the presidential election. But it is more democratic than any system, and it existed long time and it is improved by the American to adjust the situations. So it is better and more democratic than other countries. So more and more countries imitate the America and learn from it. And I also think the system of the presidential election will be better in future.
