If you ask me why people all around the world celebrate festivals,probably I can not give you a simple or definite answer.In fact,festivals symbolize national and international culture for a nation.This essay will discuss the reasons and roles of festivals.
There are mainly three reasons as for necessity of celebrating festivals:First, festivals provide people with something they can look forward to,as the great pressure caused by employment.Festivals are the signs of periodic achievement. After a long period of work,people should be awarded by rest,celebration and get together with families or friends.Second,as well as for enjoyment,people celebrate to mark special events in their religion.For example,Christmas marks the day Jesus was born so Christians celebrate the day the Son of God came to Earth.Moreover, festivals like this also bring family and people closer together.Family members may be all busy with study or work.Festival is a good opportunity for them to chat about their recent lives or discuss on future plan.They basically give people time to talk and stay with relatives or stly,some newly-established festivals like Non-smoking Day popularize vital social awareness to the general public in a very acceptable way.It is a perfect way to remind people of some good habits or harmful behavior through the form of festivals so that people can easily obey rules and form good habits.
As a result,the outcome of holidays is always effective and efficient.For one thing, life,in general,would be much less exciting and people would have less to look forward to if there were no festivals.It would be easier for families to drift apart.
There would be nothing marking important days in life as well as religion.Many countries that were involved in wars now have Independence Day and they celebrate that festival.
To sum up,I think we are all better off with festivals.More importantly,it is the festival that reminds people to preserve their valuable culture nationally and internationally.
