英语六年级下册人教版第二单元小练上的作文全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1My Favorite SportHi everyone! My name is Lily and I'm a 6th grader at Sunshine Primary School. Today I want to tell you all about my favorite sport - basketball!I've loved basketball for as long as I can remember. When I was little, my dad used to take me to the park to shoot some hoops. At first, the basketball was so big and heavy that I could barely lift it up. But Dad was really patient and helped me practice dribbling and shooting over and over again. Gradually, I got better and better at it.Then in 3rd grade, I joined the school basketball team. Our coach, Mr. Wang, is awesome! He's taught us all the rules and skills we need. Things like dribbling, passing, shooting layups and free throws. I'm actually not very tall, so I'm usually a guard on the team. My job is to dribble the ball up the court and pass to the bigger players closer to the basket.Playing in real games is both exciting and nerve-wracking! The adrenaline really gets pumping when I step onto that court. I have to stay focused and keep my head in the game at all times. Whenever I get the ball, I have to think fast about my next move - should I drive towards the basket? Or pass to an open teammate? Making the right decision in the heat of the moment can be tough, but that's what makes basketball so fun and challenging. My teammates are like my second family. We've been through so much together - tough practices, wins, losses, everything. We really encourage and motivate each other, whether we're on the court or on the bench. After a tough loss, we'll talk it over and figure out what we can improve for next time. And when we win a game, that feeling is just indescribable! We jump around and cheer like crazy.Speaking of practice, that's honestly one of the things I like most about basketball. There's always something you can work on to get better, whether it's your shooting form, defensive footwork or anything else. After school, while my friends are busy with other activities, you can usually find me at the neighborhood court putting in hours of practice. With my earbuds in, I'll just get into that "zone" where it's just me, the balland the hoop. I'll stay out there shooting until my arms feel like jelly! It's sort of meditative in a way.Anyway, those are some of the reasons why I absolutely love basketball. The excitement, the competition, the life lessons, the hard work - it's all just so fulfilling. Basketball has become a huge part of my life, and I can't imagine giving it up anytime soon. I really hope I can keep playing through middle school, high school and maybe even college someday!Who knows, you might just see me in the WNBA one day! But even if that dream doesn't come true, I know basketball will always be my one true passion. That orange ball will forever hold a special place in my heart.篇2My Favorite SportsHi there! My name is Andy, and I'm a sixth-grader at Sunny Hill Elementary School. Today, I want to share with you my thoughts on sports and why I love them so much.First of all, let me start by saying that I'm a huge sports fan! I love watching all kinds of sports on TV, from football and basketball to tennis and gymnastics. Whenever there's a biggame or match on, you can bet that I'll be glued to the screen, cheering on my favorite teams and players. But you know what's even better than watching sports? Playing them! There's nothing quite like the thrill of running down the field, dribbling a soccer ball, or sinking a perfect shot into the basketball hoop. Sports aren't just fun – they're also great exercise, which keeps me healthy and energized. One of my favorite sports to play is basketball. I love the fast pace of the game, the sound of sneakers squeaking on the court, and the feeling of sinking a three-pointer from way downtown. I'm lucky enough to be part of my school's basketball team, and we practice every week after school. Our coach is really cool, and he teaches us all sorts of drills and plays to help us improve our skills.Another sport I'm really into is soccer. There's something magical about the way the ball moves across the field, and the way players work together as a team to score goals. I play soccer with my friends in the park almost every weekend, and we have a blast running around and trying out new moves we've seen on TV.But sports aren't just about having fun – they also teach you important life lessons. For example, when you're part of a team, you learn to cooperate with others, respect your teammates, and work towards a common goal. You also learn to be a good sport, whether you win or lose, and to always strive to do your best. One of the biggest challenges I've faced in sports is dealing with setbacks and disappointments. Sometimes, no matter how hard you try, things just don't go your way. Maybe you miss a crucial shot, or your team loses a big game. It's easy to get discouraged and want to give up, but the important thing is to keep pushing forward and learning from your mistakes.I remember one time when our basketball team made it all the way to the championship game, but we ended up losing in the final seconds. It was heartbreaking, and I felt like crying. But my coach reminded us that we had worked hard all season and should be proud of how far we had come. He told us to keep our heads up and learn from the experience, so that we could come back even stronger the next year.Another thing I love about sports is the incredible athletes who play them at the highest level. These people are true inspirations, with their amazing skills, dedication, and perseverance. I'll never forget watching Simone Biles nail those incredible gymnastics routines at the Olympics, or SerenaWilliams dominating on the tennis court with her powerful serves and groundstrokes.Watching these athletes perform at such a high level motivates me to work even harder at my own sports. I know that if I keep practicing and believing in myself, maybe one day I could be just as good as they are.Personally, I can't imagine my life without sports. They've taught me so many valuable lessons, like teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship. They've also helped me stay healthy and active, and given me countless hours of fun and excitement. So if you've never tried playing a sport before, I highly recommend giving it a shot. You never know – you might just discover a new passion and a whole new world of adventure and excitement!Well, that's all from me for now. Thanks for reading, and remember: stay active, stay positive, and always strive to be your best self, both on and off the playing field. See you around!篇3My Life As a Sixth GraderHi there! My name is Emma and I'm a student in sixth grade.I just turned 12 years old last month. Sixth grade has been a really exciting year so far with lots of new experiences and challenges. Let me tell you all about it!I go to Hillside Elementary School. It's a big red brick building right in the middle of our little town. We have a awesome playground with swings, monkey bars, and even a basketball court. School starts at 8am every morning, which means I have to wake up pretty early – around 6:30am. I do not like getting up that early! But I know it's important to be on time for school. My favorite subject this year has definitely been English class. We've been reading some really cool stories and poems from all over the world. Last month, we read a Japanese folktale called "The Tongue-Cut Sparrow" about a kind old couple who helped an injured sparrow. It had a great lesson about being compassionate to others, even little animals. In English, we've also been learning lots of new vocabulary words and grammar concepts. Some of them are pretty tricky, like the difference between transitive and intransitive verbs! But I'm trying my best to understand it all. Writing essays is hard too,but I know practicing will make me a better writer. Maybe I'll be an author one day!Math used to be my worst subject, but I've been working super hard this year and I think I'm finally starting to get it. We've learned about fractions, decimals, percentages, geometry, and even a little bit of algebra with simple equations. My math teacher Mr. Roberts is really good at explaining things in a way that makes sense. As long as I pay attention in class and do my homework, math isn't so bad anymore.Science is cool because we get to do a lot of hands-on experiments and activities. A few weeks ago, we learned about electricity by building simple circuits with batteries, wires, and light bulbs. We even made our own telegraphs to send codes back and forth! I'll never forget the time I accidentally gave my lab partner a little zap. Oops...good thing it wasn't too powerful! Science can be kind of messy but that's part of the fun.In history class, we're learning all about ancient civilizations like Greece, Rome, Egypt, China, and more. It's amazing to think about how long ago people lived and how much they were able to accomplish without modern technology. My favorite ancient civilization so far is probably the Mayans – I loved reading about their advanced mathematics, calendar system, and mysteriousdownfall. Where did they all go? No one knows for sure! Isn't that crazy?Art and music are my favorite "extra" classes. I'm not the best artist, but I do love getting creative with paints, clay, and other supplies. We've made ceramics, woven little baskets on a loom, and even tried our hand at print-making. My clay pinch pot turned out kind of lopsided, but oh well! I had fun making it at least. Music class is where I really shine though. I've been taking piano lessons for years and I can read music pretty well now. We just started learning how to play the recorder, which is a little tricky but I'm getting the hang of it. Maybe I'll join the band next year! This year I also joined the drama club for the first time. We just put on a production of "Alice in Wonderland" last month and I played the role of the Cheshire Cat. It was so much fun dressing up in my costume with purple and pink stripes and a big smiley face. Lots of my friends and family came to see the show and they all said I did a great job! I'm already looking forward to auditioning for the next play. When I'm not at school or my afterschool activities, I have a pretty active life at home too. I love篇4My Favorite AnimalI really like animals a lot. They are so cute and fun to watch. My favorite animal of all is definitely dogs. I just love dogs! I'm going to tell you all about why dogs are the best pets.First of all, dogs are extremely cute and adorable. Have you ever seen a puppy? They are just the cutest things ever with their tiny bodies, big eyes, floppy ears, and wagging tails. Even grown up dogs are really cute too though, like golden retrievers with their soft fur and friendly faces. Whenever I see a dog out on a walk I always have to stop and try to pet it.Not only are dogs incredibly cute, but they are also really fun and playful animals. Dogs love to run around chasing balls and sticks and toys. They get so excited and wag their tails like crazy. My friend has a dog named Buddy and he is hilarious to play fetch with in the backyard. He runs around at full speed after the ball or frisbee and then happily brings it back for you to throw again. Dogs seem to have lots of energy to stay active and play games.Another great thing about dogs is that they are usually very friendly and good with kids. Most dogs love people and want tobe petted and snuggled. As long as you are gentle and nice to them, dogs will be your best friend. I've never met a mean dog before. My aunt's dog Lucy always comes up and licks my face when I go over because she's just so happy and loving. Having a dog is like having a built-in best friend to play with and snuggle up next to on the couch. While dogs need plenty of exercise and playtime, they also make really good companions to just hang out with. They are usually pretty calm and chill when you're just relaxing at home. Dogs will just lay down beside you or on your lap while you read a book or watch TV. It's very comforting and relaxing to have a dog around keeping you company. Their soft fur and rhythmic breathing makes them great animals to cuddle up with. I love going over to my grandma's house because her dog Sandy is super mellow and will literally sit and let me pet her for hours.Another awesome part about having a dog is that they are extremely loyal and loving towards their owners. Dogs really seem to develop close bonds with their human families. They are always so excited and happy to see you when you get home from school each day. They wag their tails like crazy and jump up to greet you and lick your face. It's like you are their whole world and they are just overjoyed that you came back. Dogs will followyou around the house and always want to be by your side, which makes you feel very loved. Not only are dogs super loving towards their owners, but they actually provide emotional support and comfort. Just petting a dog has been proven to lower people's stress levels. If I've had a hard day at school, I can always count on my neighbor's dog Rosie to make me feel better. As soon as I start gently rubbing her ears and soft fur, a wave of calmness comes over me and my worries seem to melt away. Dogs are so warm and snuggly, it's hard to stay in a bad mood when you're cuddling with one.In addition to being great emotional support companions, dogs can also be very smart and learn all kinds of neat tricks. Some dogs are trained to help people with disabilities by performing important tasks like leading them places or retrieving items. But even typical house dogs can often be trained to learn commands like sit, stay, shake, roll over, and more. It's really cool to see how intelligent dogs are and how well they can understand human language and follow instructions with the right training. My cousin's dog Buster knows about 20 different tricks that he can perfectly perform on command. While dogs do require a good amount of time, energy, and responsibility from their owners to be properly cared for, they make such great pets because of how loving and fun they are to have around. Dogs provide endless playtime, company, affection, and joy to their families. They are truly a kid's best friend. It would be incredible to have a dog of my own one day. A house just doesn't feel like a real home without one of those sweet, furry companions there to greet you.I hope I've convinced you why dogs are just the best animals ever. They check off all the boxes for an ideal pet - cute, fun, friendly, loving, comforting, smart, and endlessly entertaining. While other animals like cats, hamsters, or fish can make good pets too, nothing quite compares to the unique joy, loyalty, and companionship a dog can provide. I love dogs more than anything and I think everybody should get to experience the blessing of having one as a pet at some point in their life. Dogs really are a human's best friend!篇5My Favorite SeasonI really love the change of seasons. Each one brings something new and exciting. But if I had to choose a favorite, itwould definitely be summer! Summer is the best season of all in my opinion.First of all, the weather is amazing during the summer. The sun shines brightly almost every day, spreading its warm golden rays across the land. The temperatures are perfect for going outside and having fun. It's not too hot and not too cold - just right! You can wear t-shirts and shorts without feeling chilly. Compared to winter when you have to bundle up in heavy coats, hats and gloves, summer is so freeing and comfortable.Another great thing about summer is that school is out! No more waking up early, sitting through long classes, and doing piles of homework. During summer vacation, you can sleep in as late as you want. The days are long and filled with fun activities instead of schoolwork. My friends and I have so much free time to play games, explore the outdoors, or just relax. We don't have any tests or major assignments to stress about for a couple of blissful months.Speaking of the outdoors, that's one of the best parts of summer in my opinion. With the beautiful weather, it's the ideal time to spend time outside. My family loves going to the beach and swimming in the ocean. The water is refreshing on a hot day and you can build sandcastles, play frisbee, or just lounge onyour towel and soak up the sun. We also like hiking in the mountains and going on picnics in the park. The flowers are blooming, trees are full of green leaves, and birds are singing their cheerful melodies. Everywhere you look, nature is awake and vibrant during the summer season. In my neighborhood, everyone seems happier and more energetic in the summer too. Kids are out of school so you hear the sounds of children laughing, riding bikes, and playing games outside. Families are grilling food and having parties. People are working in their gardens, walking their dogs, or just sitting on their porches and enjoying the nice weather. There's such a relaxed, joyful vibe in the air. It's a sharp contrast to the darkness and bitter cold of winter when everyone tends to stay inside more.Another cool thing about summer is that so many fun activities and events happen during this season. Fairs and festivals occur during the summer, full of games, rides, food stalls, concerts, and fireworks. Many blockbuster movies get released in summer when people are free to go to the theater. Outdoor concerts are really popular in parks and arenas too. Of course, one of the most exciting summer events for kids is the start of the amazing summer Olympics every four years, wherewe can watch the world's best athletes compete at swimming, gymnastics, track and field, and other thrilling sports.Even staying at home is fun in the summer! My friends and I set up lemonade stands, have water balloon fights, or run around playing chase games in the yard and street. We love eating popsicles and ice cream cones to keep cool on sizzling days. Sometimes we'll camp out in the backyard under the stars at night and tell scary stories. We have sleepovers, movie nights, and stay up late without worrying about school the next morning. It's just endless relaxation and good times. Now don't get me wrong, I do love other seasons too for different reasons. Fall is pretty with all the changing leaf colors and fun holidays like Halloween. Spring is nice when everything starts blooming again after winter and you can celebrate Easter. Even winter has its charms like hot cocoa and Christmas. But summer will always be my absolute favorite! From the beautiful weather to the spirit of adventure and freedom in the air, summer is something I look forward to all year. Those warm, carefree, sunny days spend with family and friends are truly the best!篇6我的家乡旅行大家好!我是小明,我要给大家讲讲我家乡的旅行。

五年级下册英语课堂跟踪范文答案全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1My 5th Grade English Class JournalWeek 1:Our new English textbook looks really interesting! On the first day, we learned about different types of stories like fables, myths, and folktales. A fable is a short story that teaches a moral lesson and often has animals as the main characters. My favorite one we read was "The Ant and the Grasshopper." It's about how the grasshopper plays all summer while the ant works hard, and then the grasshopper has no food for the winter. The moral is that we shouldn't be lazy and should prepare for the future. I definitely don't want to be like the grasshopper! For homework, we had to write our own simple fable with a moral at the end. I wrote one called "The Puppy and the Shoe" about a puppy who chewed up his owner's favorite shoes. The moral was that you have to be responsible for your actions. I can't wait to share it with the class!Week 2:This week we focused on vocabulary related to describing characters - both how they look physically and their personality traits. Some of the new words I learned were patient, mischievous, muscular, and freckled. We practiced using them by looking at pictures of characters and describing them out loud. Then we read a chapter from the book "Matilda" about a really smart little girl with wonderful parents. We had to pick out all the descriptive words the author used for the different characters. My favorite was that Matilda was described as "a prodigy" for being so brilliant. I tried to use some of those new vocabulary words in my writing journal about my best friend. It was hard at first, but using a thesaurus helped me find just the right adjectives.Week 3:Verbs were the big topic this week, especially action verbs. We went over the different tenses like past, present, and future. Then we looked at examples of good verbs in stories that helped make them more exciting and visual for the reader. Words like "zipped," "crept," and "soared" are so much more interesting than boring verbs like "went" or "ran."Our homework was to take a short simple story and rewrite it using more descriptive action verbs. I chose "Goldilocks and the Three Bears." Instead of just saying she "entered" and "sat," I said she "tiptoed inside" and "plopped down greedily." My mom said it made the story much more fun to read! We're going to swap stories with partners next week so we can edit each other's work.Week 4:This week focused on poetry. We learned about rhyming, rhythm, and different poetic devices like alliteration and personification. Shel Silverstein is one of my favorite poets - his poems are so silly and imaginative! We got to pick one of his poems and illustrate it however we wanted with colors and pictures.I chose "Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout," the one about the girl who didn't take the garbage out. For the lines like "The trash grew deeper and higher and higher," I drew a huge overflowing pile of garbage almost covering the house. My picture showed just her head sticking out at the top! Hopefully my room never gets that messy. For writing practice, we had to compose our own short rhyming poems. Mine was about my pet hamster. It was really hard to find words that rhymed perfectly, but using a rhymingdictionary helped a lot. I'm going to keep working on poems for fun.Week 5:Our lessons this week were all about reading comprehension strategies. We learned how to make predictions about what will happen next, visualize the scene in our minds, make connections to our own experiences, and identify the main idea versus little details. Then we read a few chapters from the novel "The BFG" by Roald Dahl and practiced using those strategies. One example was making a prediction - after the BFG took Sophie from her bedroom, I predicted he was probably a friendly giant and not a mean one since he didn't hurt her. The visualizing was fun too, like picturing the BFG's huge friendly face peering into Sophie's bedroom window. For homework, we had to write a paragraph using those reading strategies on any short story. I did mine on "The Giving Tree" and focused on making personal connections. I talked about how the tree's love for the boy reminded me of how selfless my mom is and how she's always giving to me, even when I don't appreciate it enough sometimes. Using those strategies really helped me understand the story better. What an amazing first few weeks of our new English book! I've learned so many new skills already for describing characters, using vivid verbs, reading poetry, and comprehending stories more deeply. I can't wait to see what other fun literature we'll explore next. Bring on those new vocabulary words!篇2My English Class This SemesterHello! My name is Michael and I'm a 5th grade student. This semester in English class has been a lot of fun. We've learned so many new things! Let me tell you about some of the topics we covered and the activities we did.In our first unit, we talked about different jobs that people have. We read dialogues about a doctor, a chef, a police officer, and other professionals. We practiced asking and answering questions like "What do you do?" and "Where do you work?" My favorite was learning all the fun words for a chef like "whisk", "spatula", and "apron." For our project, we had to write and perform a short skit about two people with different jobs. My best friend Sam and I did ours about a zookeeper and a teacher. It was really funny! The next unit was on hobbies and free time activities. We learned vocabulary words like "collect", "hike", "bake", and "photography." The readings were about kids our age who had some pretty cool hobbies. One girl collected stamps from all around the world! We took a survey of everyone's hobbies in the class. The most popular was playing video games, but I like playing basketball the best. For our project, we had to make a poster showing our favorite hobby and present it to the class. Mine had pictures of me shooting hoops. Then we moved on to a unit all about cultures and traditions in different countries. This was my favorite! We read about special festivals, customs, clothing, and foods from places like China, Mexico, India, and Kenya. I thought the Dragon Boat Festival in China sounded amazing. We even learned some simple words in other languages. My favorite new word was "gracias" which means "thank you" in Spanish. For our final project, we had to research a country and create a little book with information, drawings, and photographs showing its culture.I chose Mexico and made a book all about Dia de Los Muertos, the Day of the Dead. Our most recent unit was on giving directions and traveling. We practiced words like "go straight", "turn left", "cross thestreet", and so on. We even learned a fun little chant to memorize the words. The readings were about kids giving directions to friends and family to get to different places like the park, school, or their home. I had forgotten how tricky it can be to explain how to get somewhere! For our project, we had to draw a map of our neighborhood and write step-by-step directions from our home to the school. We also did some fun role-plays where we pretended to be tourists asking for directions.Through all of these units, we also kept reviewing the basics of English like verb tenses, adjectives, prepositions, and so on. Sometimes we worked individually, sometimes in pairs, and sometimes in small groups. We played games, sang songs, read stories, and watched videos to make it all more fun and interactive. My teacher, Mrs. Roberts, always came up with such creative and engaging activities to help us learn.I can't believe the semester is almost over already! We've covered so much material and I've learned a ton of new English vocabulary and grammar. I feel much more confident in my English skills now, especially speaking and listening. Mrs. Roberts was an amazing teacher who made our lessons interesting and enjoyable every day. I can't wait to keep building on what Ilearned next year in 6th grade English! Thanks for reading about my class this semester.篇3My English Class This SemesterWow, what a year it has been in my English class! I can't believe we're almost done with fifth grade. This semester has been so much fun and I've learned a ton of new things. Let me tell you all about it!We started off the semester by learning about different cultures and traditions around the world. It was really cool to learn about how people in other countries celebrate holidays, what kind of food they eat, and what their daily lives are like. My favorite part was when we had to research a country and give a presentation to the class. I chose to learn about Japan and I made this really neat poster with pictures of cherry blossom trees, sushi, and Mount Fuji. I even tried to write a few Japanese words! After that, we moved on to learning about fairy tales and fables. I already knew some of the popular ones like Cinderella and The Three Little Pigs, but we read a bunch of stories from different cultures too. My favorite was this Japanese folktale called "The Tongue-Cut Sparrow" – it was kind of creepy but hada good moral at the end. For our project, we had to write our own modern-day fable and illustrate it. I wrote a story called "The Fox and the Smartphone" about a fox who gets too distracted by his phone and misses out on adventures in the forest. I drew some pretty funny pictures to go along with it.Next up was poetry! I'll be honest, I wasn't too excited about this unit at first because I thought poetry was kind of boring. But Mrs. Thompson showed us all different kinds of poems and we got to play around with rhyming, alliteration, and using descriptive words to paint pictures with our writing. I surprised myself by really enjoying it! We had to compose our own free verse poems and present them to the class. I wrote a poem called "Basketball Dream" about imagining myself playing in the NBA someday. When I read it out loud, some of my classmates said it gave them goosebumps. Score! After our poetry unit, we spent a few weeks learning about space and the solar system. This was definitely one of the coolest units we did all year. We read lots of books and articles about the planets, did some hands-on activities to learn about things like gravity and orbits, and even went on a field trip to the science museum's planetarium. My favorite thing was when we had to create models of the solar system. I made mine out of styrofoamballs painted like the planets and hung them from the ceiling with string. It looked so realistic! I think I might want to be an astronaut when I grow up after learning about all the amazing things happening in space exploration. For our very last unit of the semester, we're studying drama and putting on a class play. We're performing a short kid-friendly version of Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream." I actually have one of the lead roles as Puck, the mischievous fairy! We've been rehearsing our lines, making props and backdrops, and learning some dances and songs to go along with the play. It's been a lot of work but I'm having a blast. I can't wait for our big performance next week in front of the whole school. My parents are coming to watch and I'm a little nervous, but mostly just excited. Break a leg, me!Overall, this semester of English has been amazing. I feel like I've grown so much as a reader, writer, speaker, and all-around student. Mrs. Thompson always makes learning fun with her creative lesson plans and projects. Even though some of the units pushed me out of my comfort zone at first, I tried my best and ended up enjoying the challenges. I'm really going to miss this class and my classmates next year when we move on to middle school. But I know the reading, writing, and other skillsI've learned will help me succeed in whatever comes next. Bring it on, sixth grade!篇4My English Class This YearHi there! My name is Jamie and I'm a 5th grade student. I want to tell you all about my English class this year because it's been really cool. English is one of my favorite subjects and I've learned so much already. Our teacher's name is Mr. Roberts and he's awesome. He makes the lessons fun by using games, songs, and activities to help us learn instead of just making us read from the textbook all period. He says that's a boring way to learn English and he wants to make it interactive and engaging. I think he's right because I remember the lessons way better when we get to do hands-on stuff. At the start of the year, we spent a few weeks reviewing basic grammar concepts from last year like parts of speech,subject-verb agreement, and punctuation. Mr. Roberts had us go around the room and take turns making sentences while he wrote them on the board, correcting any mistakes. If we made a good sentence without errors, we got a point. The team with themost points at the end of the week got a pizza party! My team won twice so that was awesome. Then we started learning about different writing styles like narrative, expository, persuasive, and descriptive writing. For narrative writing, we read some fun short stories and had to analyze the plot, characters, setting, and other story elements. We also got to write our own creative fiction stories which was my favorite assignment. I wrote a story about going on an adventure in outer space! For expository or informational writing, we had to research a topic we were interested in and write a report explaining it in detail. I chose to do my report on sharks since I'm obsessed with marine life. I worked really hard on making my intro paragraph grab the reader's attention, including lots of facts and details in the body, and writing a good conclusion. Mr. Roberts said my report was "Jaws-omely" good!Persuasive writing was когда we had to state an opinion and try to convince the reader using facts and reasons to back it up. We did debates in class on various topics like whether dogs or cats make better pets, if junk food should be banned in schools, and other silly but fun arguments. I loved getting to look at both sides of an issue and fight for whichever one I was assigned. For descriptive writing, we learned to use vivid sensory details to paint a picture in the reader's mind of whatever we were describing. We had to describe a person, place, object, or experience and make it seem as realistic as possible. We did exercises where we moved around the class describing random objects Mr. Roberts put on each desk just by looking at them.In addition to all the writing work, we're always working on improving our vocabulary, grammar, reading comprehension and analysis skills too. Sometimes we have vocabulary tests to memorize definitions for new words from our readings. For grammar, we do practice exercises or play games to target specific skills like using proper verb tenses, pronoun agreement, types of sentences and more. For reading, we've read a few novels as a class like Wonder, The One and Only Ivan, and Front Desk. We take turns reading aloud and then discuss comprehension questions, pick out examples of literary devices like metaphors or hyperbole, summarize the plot, analyze characters and themes, and share our thoughts. It really makes you think deeply about the text.I used to struggle with reading and writing before, but Mr. Roberts has lots of strategies to help like annotating the text, using context clues, close reading passages multiple times, andother techniques. I feel way more confident now as a reader and writer in English. We also get chances to practice our speaking and listening skills through partner conversations, group discussions, presentations, and listening activities. Mr. Roberts plays fun English learning videos or songs and we have to answer questions about the key details or vocabulary words.Overall, English class has been such an enriching experience for me this year. I've learned so many new writing techniques, expanded my vocabulary, become a stronger reader and speaker, and improved my overall command of the English language. Mr. Roberts makes every lesson engaging with games, technology, creative projects and more. He gives us a safe space to make mistakes too as we're learning. My favorite units so far have been the ones on creative fiction writing and persuasive writing/debates. It was so fun to tap into my imagination for the stories and try to convince my classmates of my viewpoint in the debates. I'm really looking forward to the next few units on poetry, drama/acting, and speech writing.English is such an important subject for communicating effectively. The skills I've gained this year will definitely help mein future years and any career I pursue later on. I know I still have a long way to go in my English learning journey, but Mr. Roberts and this class have given me an awesome foundation. I'm grateful to have such an experienced, caring teacher who makes learning this complex language feel natural and enjoyable. Thanks for reading about my awesome English class experience!篇5My English Class JourneyHi there! My name is Emily and I'm a 5th grader. I want to share with you all about my experience learning English this year. It has been quite an adventure! At the start of the year, English felt really hard. There were so many new words to memorize and strange rules about grammar that didn't make sense to me at first. I remember feeling frustrated when we had to do speaking activities. I would get all tongue-tied trying to pronounce the words correctly. My face would turn red from feeling shy and self-conscious.But my teacher, Ms. Roberts, was really nice and encouraging. She created a safe environment where it was okay to make mistakes when practicing English. She would gentlycorrect our pronunciation and explain the meanings of words in a simple way we could understand. One of the first units we did was on greeting people and introducing ourselves. We learned expressions like "Nice to meet you," "How are you?", and "I'm doing well, thanks for asking." It was a little awkward at first using these unfamiliar phrases, but we did roleplaying activities to practice. By the end of the unit, I could confidently greet my classmates in English. The next unit was all about describing ourselves, our families, pets, and homes. This is where I started feeling more comfortable using English to express myself. We made "About Me" posters with details like our age, favorite foods and hobbies.I loved learning adjectives to describe my personality, like "funny," "creative," and "outgoing."For the family unit, we did an activity where we drew portraits of our family members and labelled them with vocabulary like "mother," "brother," "grandma" etc. I had so much fun coloring the pictures and telling my partner about my crazy little sister who is always causing trouble! One of the hardest but also most rewarding units was on animals. There were so many new vocabulary words for the huge variety of creatures. My favorite was learning about pets. I madea poster all about my gorgeous golden retriever puppy, Charlie. I bragged about how cuddly, energetic and loyal he is. Talking about my beloved pet made the assignment feel meaningful. As the year went on, I really started improving thanks to all the practice activities we did. My pronunciation got better from constantly repeating words and sentences out loud. My vocabulary expanded rapidly from playing themed games and making flashcards. Grammar started clicking into place by identifying parts of speech and their functions. What really helped was when we did projects that combined reading, writing, speaking and listening all together. For example, we read a short mystery story and then split into groups to discuss the plot and make predictions about how it would end. We presented our theories to the class, which pushed me to articulate my thoughts clearly in English.Another great project was designing tours of our community. We researched interesting places like museums, parks, and restaurants. Then we wrote scripts describing the locations and took turns delivering our tours. It allowed us to be creative while practicing useful speaking and writing skills.Looking back now, I'm amazing at how far my English abilities have progressed over the year. What used to feelimpossible is now second nature. I'm so grateful to Ms. Roberts for making our lessons engaging and creating a supportive environment to learn.English is a fun, enriching subject that has opened my mind to understanding other cultures and ways of expression. While it's definitely challenging, breaking it down into manageable units through our class activities has made it feel achievable to become an effective English speaker and writer.I feel proud of the hard work I've put in and the progress I've made. My confidence has soared from all the practice participating in discussions, delivering presentations and completing creative projects. I'm not afraid to make mistakes anymore because I know that's just part of the learning journey. As I get ready to go into middle school, I feel prepared to take on more advanced English coursework. I know there is still so much more vocabulary to learn and complicated grammar concepts ahead. But the foundation has been laid through my elementary experience for me to keep building my skills.English is a beautiful, rich language that I've grown to appreciate and enjoy learning. Maybe I'll even pursue it as a career someday, like becoming a teacher, translator or writer. For now, I'm eager to continue feeding my passion through readinggreat books, watching movies and making new English-speaking friends.I'm walking away from 5th grade with not just better English abilities, but a broader perspective and openness to explore other languages and cultures. That's the most valuable lesson Ms. Roberts has taught me - how developing multilingual skills can open up your world to amazing opportunities and human connections. I can't wait to see where my English journey will take me next!篇6English Class Lesson Tracking for Second SemesterHey there! I'm so excited to share with you all about what we've been learning in English class this semester. Our textbook has taken us on an amazing journey, exploring different themes and topics. Let me give you a rundown of the key lessons and activities we've covered.。
英文童话故事:The Tongue Cut SparrowIn a little house in a little old village in Japan lived a little old man and his little old wife. One morning when the old woman slid open the screens which form the sides of the Japanese houses, she saw on the doorstep a poor little sparrow. She took him up gently and fed him. Then she held him in the bright morning sunshineuntil the cold dew was dried from his wings.Afterward, she let him go, so that he might fly home to his nest, but he stayed with her to thank her with his songs. Each morning, when the pink on the mountaintops told that the sun was near, the sparrow perched on the roof of the house and sang out his joy. The old man and woman thanked the sparrow for this, for they liked to be up early and at work. But near them lived a cross old woman who did not like to be awakened so early. At last she became so angry that she caught the sparrow and cut his tongue. Then the poor little sparrow flew away to his home. But he never could sing again. When the kind woman knew what had happened to her pet she was very sad. She said to her husband, "Let us go and find our poor little sparrow." So they started together, and asked of each bird by the wayside: "Do you know where the tongue-cut sparrowlives? Do you know where the tongue-cut sparrow went?" In this way the followed until they came to a bridge. They did not know which way to turn, and at first could see no one to ask. At last they saw a bat, hanging head downward, taking his daytime nap. "O friend Bat, do you know where the tongue-cut sparrow went?" "Yes. Over the bridge and up the mountain," said the bat. Then he blinked his sleepy eyes and was fast asleep again. Theywent over the bridge and up the mountain, but again they found two roads and did not know which one to take.A little field mouse peeped through the leaves and grass, so they asked him, "Do you know where the tongue-cut sparrow went?" "Yes. Down the mountain and through the woods," said the field mouse. Down the mountain and through the woods they went, and at last came to the home of their little friend. When he saw them coming, the poor little sparrow was very happy indeed. He and his wife and children all came and bowed their heads down to the ground to show their respect. Then the sparrow rose and led the old man and the old woman into the house while his wife and children hastened to bring them boiled rice, fish, and cress. After they had feasted, the sparrow wished to please them still more, so he danced for them what is called the "sparrow dance." When the sun began to sink, the old man and woman started home. The sparrow brought out two baskets. "I would like to give you one of these," he said. "Which will you take?" One basket was large andlooked very full, while the other one seemed very small and light. The old people thought they would not take the large basket, for that might have all the sparrow's treasure in it, so they said, "The journey home is long, so please let us take the smaller one." They took it and walked home over the mountain and across the bridge, happy and contented. When they reached their own home, they decided to open the basket to see what the sparrow had given them. Within the basket they found many rolls of silk and piles of gold, enough to make them rich, so they were more grateful than ever to the sparrow. The cross old woman who had cut the sparrow's tongue was spying through the screen when they opened their basket. She saw the rolls of silk and pilesof gold, and planned how she might get some for herself. The next morning she went to the kind woman and said, "I am so sorry that I cut the tongue of your sparrow. Please tell me the way to his home so that I may go to him and tell him I am sorry." The kind woman told her the way and she set out. She went across the bridge, over the mountains, and through the woods. At last she came to the home of the little sparrow. He was not so glad to see this old woman, yet he was very kind to her and did everything to make her feel very welcome. They made a feast for her, and when she started home the sparrow brought out two baskets as before. Of course the cross old woman chose the large basket, for she thought that would have even more wealth than the other one. The basket was very heavy and caught on the trees as she was going through the wood. She could hardly pull it up the mountain with her, and she was all out of breath when she reached the top. She did not get to the bridge until it was dark. They she was so afraid of dropping the basket into the river that she scarcely dared to step. When at last she reached home she was tired out, but she pulled the screens tightly closed so that no one could look in, and opened her treasure. Treasure indeed! A whole swarm of horrible creatures burst from the basket the moment she opened it. They stung her and bit her, they pushed her and pulled her, and scratched her. At last she crawled to the edge of the room and slid aside the screen to get away from the pests. The moment the door was opened they swooped down upon her, picked her up, and flew away with her. Since then nothing has been heard of the old woman.。

"我的天哪!"她一边放声大笑一边高声地说,"瞧这家伙的下巴呀,长得跟画眉嘴一模一样啊!"打那以后,这位国王就落了个诨名--画眉嘴。
老国王发现女儿只是在嘲弄人家,对每个前来求婚的人都嗤之以鼻,便大动干火,发誓要把她嫁给第一个上门来讨饭的叫花子。

国王对他说:"你的歌让我很开心,我就把我的女儿许配给你吧。

(周启明译)伊索寓⾔之《农夫和蛇的故事》(英⽂版) Aesop’s Fables The Woodman and the Serpent One wintry day a Woodman was tramping home from his work when he saw something black lying on the snow. When he came closer he saw it was a Serpent to all appearance dead. But he took it up and put it in his bosom to warm while he hurried home. As soon as he got indoors he put the Serpent down on the hearth before the fire. The children watched it and saw it slowly come to life again. Then one of them stooped down to stroke it, but thc Serpent raised its head and put out its fangs and was about to sting the child to death. So the Woodman seized his axe, and with one stroke cut the Serpent in two.‘Ah,’ said he, ‘No gratitude from the wicked.’。
= =when she came to look for it, it was all gone; the bowl which she had filled full yesterday was quite empty. While she was wondering who could have used or stolen the starch, down flew the pet sparrow, and bowing her little feathered head—a trick which she had been taught by her master—the pretty bird chirped and said:“It is I who have taken the starch. I thought it was some food put out for me in that basin, and I ate it all. If I have made a mistake I beg you to forgive me! tweet, tweet, tweet!”You see from this that the sparrow was a truthful bird, and the old woman ought to have been willing to forgive her at once when she asked her pardon so nicely. But not so.The old woman had nev-er loved the sparrow, and had often quarreled with her hus-band for keeping what she called a dirty bird about the house, saying that it only made extra work for her. Now she was only too delighted to have some cause of complaint against the pet. She scolded and even cursed the poor little bird for her bad behavior, and not content with using these harsh, unfeelingLong, long ago in Japan there lived an old man and his wife. The old man was a good, kind-hearted, hard-working old fellow, but his wife was a regular cross-patch, who spoiled the happiness of her home by her scolding tongue. She was always grumbling about something from morning to night. The old man had for a long time ceased to take any notice of her crossness. He was out most of the day at work in the fields, and as he had no child, for his amusement when he came home, he kept a tame sparrow. He loved the little bird just as much as if she had been his child. When he came back at night after his hard day’s work in the open air it was his only pleasure to pet the sparrow, to talk to her and to teach her little tricks, which she learned very quickly. The old man would open her cage and let her fly about the room, and they would play together. Then when supper-time came, he always saved some tid-bits from his meal with which to feed his little bird. Now one day the old man went out to chop wood in the forest, and the old woman stopped at home to wash clothes. The day before, she had made some starch, and now The Tongue-Cut SparrowFrom Japanese Fairy Taleswords, in a fit of rage she seized the spar-row—who all this time had spread out her wings and bowed her head before the old woman, to show how sorry she was—and fetched the scissors and cut off the poor little bird’s tongue.“I suppose you took my starch with that tongue! Now you may see what it is like to go without it! “And with these dreadful words she drove the bird away, not caring in the least what might happen to it and without the smallest pity for its suffering, so unkind was she!The old woman, after she had driven the sparrow away, made some more rice-paste, grumbling all the time at the trouble, and af-ter starching all her clothes, spread the things on boards to dry in the sun, instead of iron-ing them as they do in England. In the evening the old man came home. As usual, on the way back he looked forward to the time when he should reach his gate and see his pet come flying and chirping to meet him, ruffling out her feathers to show her joy, and at last com-ing to rest on his shoulder. But to-night the old man was very disappointed, for not even the shadow of his dear sparrow was to be seen.He quickened his steps, hastily drew off his straw sandals, and stepped on to the ve-randa. Still no sparrow was to be seen. He now felt sure that his wife, in one of her cross tempers, had shut the sparrow up in its cage. So he called her and said anxiously:“Where is Suzume San (Miss Sparrow) today?”The old woman pretended not to know at first, and answered:“Your sparrow? I am sure I don’t know. Now I come to think of it, I haven’t seen her all the afternoon. I shouldn’t wonder if the un-grateful bird had flown away and left you after all your petting!”But at last, when the old man gave her no peace, but asked her again and again, in-sisting that she must know what had hap-pened to his pet, she confessed all. She told him crossly how the sparrow had eaten the rice-paste she had specially made for starch-ing her clothes, and how when the sparrow had confessed to what she had done, in great anger she had taken her scissors and cut out her tongue, and how finally she had driven the bird away and forbidden her to return to the house again. Then the old woman showed her hus-band the sparrow’s tongue, saying:“Here is the tongue I cut off! Horrid lit-tle bird, why did it eat all my starch?”“How could you be so cruel? Oh! how could you so cruel?” was all that the old man could answer. He was too kind-hearted to punish his shrew of a wife, but he was ter-ribly distressed at what had happened to his poor little sparrow.“What a dreadful misfortune for my poor Suzume San to lose her tongue!” he said to himself. “She won’t be able to chirp any more, and surely the pain of the cutting of= =it out in that rough way must have made her ill! Is there nothing to be done?”The old man shed many tears after his cross wife had gone to sleep. While he wiped away the tears with the sleeve of his cotton robe, a bright thought comforted him: he would go and look for the sparrow on the morrow. Having decided this he was able to go to sleep at last. The next morning he rose early, as soon as ever the day broke, and snatching a hasty breakfast, started out over the hills and through the woods, stopping at every clump of bamboos to cry:“Where, oh where does my tongue-cut sparrow stay? Where, oh where, does my tongue-cut sparrow stay!”He never stopped to rest for his noon-day meal, and it was far on in the afternoon when he found himself near a large bam-boo wood. Bamboo groves are the favorite haunts of sparrows, and there sure enough at the edge of the wood he saw his own dear sparrow waiting to welcome him. He could hardly believe his eyes for joy, and ran for-ward quickly to greet her. She bowed her lit-tle head and went through a number of the tricks her master had taught her, to show her pleasure at seeing her old friend again, and, wonderful to relate, she could talk as of old. The old man told her how sorry he was for all that had happened, and inquired after her tongue, wondering how she could speak so well without it. Then the sparrow opened her beak and showed him that a new tongue had grown in place of the old one, and begged him not to think any more about the past, for she was quite well now. Then the old man knew that his sparrow was a fairy, and no common bird. It would be difficult to exag-gerate the old man’s rejoicing now. He forgot all his troubles, he forgot even how tired he was, for he had found his lost sparrow, and instead of being ill and without a tongue as he had feared and expected to find her, she was well and happy and with a new tongue, and without a sign of the ill-treatment she had received from his wife. And above all she was a fairy. The sparrow asked him to follow her, and flying before him she led him to a beautiful house in the heart of the bamboo grove. The old man was utterly astonished when he en-tered the house to find what a beautiful place it was. It was built of the whitest wood, the soft cream-colored mats which took the place of carpets were the finest he had ever seen, and the cushions that the sparrow brought out for him to sit on were made of the fin-est silk and crape. Beautiful vases and lacquer boxes adorned the tokonoma [Footnote: An alcove where precious objects are displayed.] of every room. The sparrow led the old man to the place of honor, and then, taking her place at a humble distance, she thanked him with many polite bows for all the kindness he had shown her for many long years. Then the Lady Sparrow, as we will now call her, introduced all her family to the old= =man. This done, her daughters, robed in dainty crape gowns, brought in on beauti-ful old-fashioned trays a feast of all kinds of delicious foods, till the old man began to think he must be dreaming. In the middleof the dinner some of the sparrow’s daugh-ters performed a wonderful dance, called the “suzume-odori” or the “Sparrow’s dance,” to amuse the guest.Never had the old man enjoyed himself so much. The hours flew by too quickly in this lovely spot, with all these fairy sparrows to wait upon him and to feast him and to dance before him.But the night came on and the darkness reminded him that he had a long way to go and must think about taking his leave and return home. He thanked his kind hostess for her splendid entertainment, and begged her for his sake to forget all she had suffered at the hands of his cross old wife. He told the Lady Sparrow that it was a great comfort and happiness to him to find her in such a beautiful home and to know that she wanted for nothing. It was his anxiety to know how she fared and what had really happened to her that had led him to seek her. Now he knew that all was well he could return home with a light heart. If ever she wanted him for anything she had only to send for him and he would come at once. The Lady Sparrow begged him to stay and rest several days and enjoy the change, but the old man said he must return to his old wife—who would probably be cross at his not coming home at the usual time— and to his work, and therefore, much as he wished to do so, he could not accept her kind invitation. But now that he knew where the Lady Sparrow lived he would come to see her whenever he had the time. When the Lady Sparrow saw that she could not persuade the old man to stay lon-ger, she gave an order to some of her servants, and they at once brought in two boxes, one large and the other small. These were placed before the old man, and the Lady Sparrow asked him to choose whichever he liked for a present, which she wished to give him.The old man could not refuse this kind proposal, and he chose the smaller box, say-ing:“I am now too old and feeble to carry the big and heavy box. As you are so kind as to say that I may take whichever I like, I will choose the small one, which will be easier for me to carry.”Then the sparrows all helped him put it on his back and went to the gate to see him off, bidding him good-by with many bows and entreating him to come again whenever he had the time. Thus the old man and his pet sparrow separated quite happily, the spar-row showing not the least ill-will for all the unkindness she had suffered at the hands of the old wife. Indeed, she only felt sorrow for the old man who had to put up with it all his life. When the old man reached home he= =found his wife even crosser than usual, for it was late on in the night and she had been waiting up for him for a long time“Where have you been all this time?” she asked in a big voice. “Why do you come back so late?”The old man tried to pacify her by show-ing her the box of presents he had brought back with him, and then he told her of all that had happened to him, and how wonder-fully he had been entertained at the sparrow’s house.“Now let us see what is in the box,” said the old man, not giving her time to grumble again. “You must help me open it.” And they both sat down before the box and opened it.To their utter astonishment they found the box filled to the brim with gold and silver coins and many other precious things. The mats of their little cottage fairly glittered as they took out the things one by one and put them down and handled them over and over again. The old man was overjoyed at the sight of the riches that were now his. Beyond his brightest expectations was the sparrow’s gift, which would enable him to give up work and live in ease and comfort the rest of his days.He said: “Thanks to my good little spar-row! Thanks to my good little sparrow!” many times. But the old woman, after the first mo-ments of surprise and satisfaction at the sight of the gold and silver were over, could not suppress the greed of her wicked nature. She now began to reproach the old man for not having brought home the big box of pres-ents, for in the innocence of his heart he had told her how he had refused the large box of presents which the sparrows had offered him, preferring the smaller one because it was light and easy to carry home.“You silly old man,” said she, “Why did you not bring the large box? Just think what we have lost. We might have had twice as much silver and gold as this. You are certain-ly an old fool!” she screamed, and then went to bed as angry as she could be.The old man now wished that he had said nothing about the big box, but it was too late; the greedy old woman, not contented with the good luck which had so unexpectedly be-fallen them and which she so little deserved, made up her mind, if possible, to get more.Early the next morning she got up and made the old man describe the way to the sparrow’s house. When he saw what was in her mind he tried to keep her from going, but it was useless. She would not listen to one word he said. It is strange that the old woman did not feel ashamed of going to see the sparrow after the cruel way she had treat-ed her in cutting off her tongue in a fit of rage. But her greed to get the big box made her forget everything else. It did not even en-ter her thoughts that the sparrows might be angry with her— as, indeed, they were—and might punish her for what she had done.Ever since the Lady Sparrow had re-turned home in the sad plight in which they had first found her, weeping and bleeding= =from the mouth, her whole family and re-lations had done little else but speak of the cruelty of the old woman. “How could she,” they asked each other, “inflict such a heavy punishment for such a trifling offense as that of eating some rice-paste by mistake?” They all loved the old man who was so kind and good and patient under all his troubles, but the old woman they hated, and they deter-mined, if ever they had the chance, to pun-ish her as she deserved. They had not long to wait. After walking for some hours the old wom-an had at last found the bamboo grove which she had made her husband carefully describe, and now she stood before it crying out:“Where is the tongue-cut sparrow’s house? Where is the tongue-cut sparrow’s house?”At last she saw the eaves of the house peeping out from amongst the bamboo foli-age. She hastened to the door and knocked loudly. When the servants told the Lady Spar-row that her old mistress was at the door asking to see her, she was somewhat sur-prised at the unexpected visit, after all that had taken place, and she wondered not a little at the boldness of the old woman in venturing to come to the house. The Lady Sparrow, however, was a polite bird, and so she went out to greet the old woman, remembering that she had once been her mistress. The old woman intended, however, to waste no time in words, she went right to the point, without the least shame, and said:“You need not trouble to entertain me as you did my old man. I have come myself to get the box which he so stupidly left behind.I shall soon take my leave if you will give me the big box—that is all I want!”The Lady Sparrow at once consented, and told her servants to bring out the big box. The old woman eagerly seized it and hoisted it on her back, and without even stopping to thank the Lady Sparrow began to hurry homewards. The box was so heavy that she could not walk fast, much less run, as she would have liked to do, so anxious was she to get home and see what was inside the box, but she had often to sit down and rest herself by the way. While she was staggering along under the heavy load, her desire to open the box be-came too great to be resisted. She could wait no longer, for she supposed this big box to be full of gold and silver and precious jewels like the small one her husband had received. At last this greedy and selfish old woman put down the box by the wayside and opened it carefully, expecting to gloat her eyes on a mine of wealth. What she saw, however, so terrified her that she nearly lost her senses. As soon as she lifted the lid, a number of hor-rible and frightful looking demons bounced out of the box and surrounded her as if they intended to kill her. Not even in nightmares had she ever seen such horrible creatures as her much-coveted box contained. A demon= =with one huge eye right in the middle of its forehead came and glared at her, monsters with gaping mouths looked as if they would devour her, a huge snake coiled and hissed about her, and a big frog hopped and croaked towards her.The old woman had never been so fright-ened in her life, and ran from the spot as fastas her quaking legs would carry her, glad to escape alive. When she reached home she fellto the floor and told her husband with tearsall that had happened to her, and how she had been nearly killed by the demons in the box. Then she began to blame the sparrow, but the old man stopped her at once, say-ing:“Don’t blame the sparrow, it is your wickedness which has at last met with its re-ward. I only hope this may be a lesson to youin the future!”The old woman said nothing more, and from that day she repented of her cross, un-kind ways, and by degrees became a good old woman, so that her husband hardly knew herto be the same person, and they spent their last days together happily, free from want or care, spending carefully the treasure the old man had received from his pet, the tongue-cut sparrow.= =。
高二选择性必修三英语第七单元作文全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1Unit 7: Our Diversified WorldHi friends! Today I'm going to tell you all about the super cool Unit 7 from my English class. It's called "Our Diversified World" and it's all about different cultures and stuff. Get ready for an awesome adventure!First up, we learned about cultural diversity. That just means there are lots of different cultures around the world. Isn't that neat? People have different languages, foods, holidays, clothes, and ways of life. My teacher says diversity makes the world a more interesting and colorful place. I totally agree! We read about this place called India. Can you believe they have over 20,000 different cultures there? Whoa! They have all kinds of cool festivals too like Holi, the festival of colors. Everyone throws bright colored powders at each other. It looks like a crazy rainbow explosion! I wish we had that festival here. Then we learned about respected leaders who helped bring people together. One was a guy named Nelson Mandela from South Africa. He fought against racial discrimination and injustice there. After spending 27 years in prison (can you imagine?!), he became the first black president of South Africa. He helped unite people of all races. What a brave, amazing person!Another leader we studied was Mother Teresa. Has anyone heard of her? She was a nun who cared for sick and poor people in India. Even though she was tiny, she had a huge heart! She once said, "Not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things with great love." I'm going to remember that quote.Switching gears a bit, we also covered stereotypes in this unit. Those are oversimplified ideas about a group of people that aren't always true. Like people might think all Americans are loud and rude. Or that French people are snobby. Those are stereotypes and they can be hurtful. We should avoid making judgements about others and keep an open mind.My favorite part of this unit was learning about different festivals and celebrations around the world. In Vietnam, they have the Mid-Autumn Festival where kids go out at nightcarrying brightly decorated lanterns. How magical does that sound? I would love to do that! For Day of the Dead in Mexico, families decorate colorful skulls and make an ofrenda with photos, flowers, and favorite foods of their relatives who passed away. It's a joyful way to honor their memory. I like that tradition a lot.In Sweden, there's a cool festival called Midsummer's Eve. A poll writers love telling me about it. People dress up in traditional Swedish clothes and dance around a maypole decorated with leaves and flowers. Sounds like a blast if you ask me!We also read folk tales and myths from various cultures. My favorite was the Japanese story of the Tongue-Cut Sparrow. Poor sparrow got her tongue cut out by an old woman, but was still able to sing beautifully using her voice box. The moral is that true talent comes from the heart. What a sweet story!Another highlight was tasting diverse foods from around the globe. We got to sample boba tea from Taiwan, falafel from the Middle East, and curry from India. My klassmates and I had a delicious time trying all the yummy new flavors! At the end of the unit, we put on a cultural festival at school. Each group represented a different country through dances, skits, costumes, and food. It was like taking a trip around the world without leaving our classroom! So much effort went into learning about each place and sharing it creatively.I have to say, this was one of my favorite units so far. Learning about the rich diversity of our world opened my eyes and sparked my curiosity. There's so much to discover and appreciate about the many vibrant cultures on our planet.Although we may look or act differently on the outside, deep down we all share the same human hopes, dreams, and values. Things like family, friendship, joy, and community are important across every culture. Our diversity makes life interesting, but our common humanity binds us all together as one.The world is kind of like a giant mosaic - each culture is a unique, colorful tile that comes together to create a striking masterpiece. I feel so grateful to live in such a beautiful, multicultural world. Every person and tradition has something special to offer and teach us.I hope you enjoyed learning about our diversified world as much as I did. Maybe you'll get the chance to experience some of these amazing cultures yourself one day. Just remember to always keep an open mind, show respect, and appreciate the richness of our global community. Peace out!篇2Unit 7 - My Family's Cultural TraditionsHi friends! Today I want to tell you all about the cool cultural traditions my family has. It's really fun and interesting!First, let me tell you about the holidays we celebrate. The biggest one is Chinese New Year. It's like a big party that goes on for several days! We have to clean the whole house from top to bottom to get ready. Mom says it's to sweep away any bad luck from the old year. Once the house is all shiny, we decorate it with red papercuttings, couplets, and lanterns. Red is a lucky color! On New Year's Eve, we have a huge dinner called the reunion dinner. All my aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents come over. The table is totally loaded with delicious food like dumplings, noodles, fish, meat, and vegetables. We can't use knives at the table though because my grandma says it might "cut" our luck for the new year. How silly! After dinner, the kids get red envelopes with money inside from the adult relatives. We call it "ya sui qian" which means "suppressing the little demons." I'm not sure why it's called that but hey, I'm not complaining about free money! Then we stay upsuper late setting off firecrackers and fireworks. It's so loud and bright outside. Mom says it scares evil spirits away. The next two weeks are still part of New Year celebrations. We visit friends and relatives, watch traditional operas and dances, eat a lot more delicious food, and set off more firecrackers. One funny tradition is that you're not allowed to sweep or take out the trash for a little bit because you might sweep away your good luck! Silly again but I like not having to do chores.Another fun tradition is the Dragon Boat Festival in the summer. We eat special sticky rice dumplings called zongzi wrapped in bamboo leaves. They're kind of a pain to make but they taste amazing! Especially with the egg yolk inside. The festival celebrates an ancient Chinese poet and minister who drowned himself to protest against government corruption. People would beat drums and throw rice dumplings into the river to keep fish and evil spirits away from his body. Now we have dragon boat races and celebrate his loyalty and bravery. For the Mid-Autumn Festival, we eat mooncakes and go out at night to admire the full harvest moon. The mooncakes are dense pastries with sweet fillings like lotus seed paste, egg yolk, ham, nuts, and candied fruit. My favorites are the ones with twosalted egg yolks! We put mooncakes out as an offering to the moon along with incense, fruit, and tea. This festival celebrates the end of the autumn harvest and families being together. We also have special traditions just for our family. On each person's birthday, we make long noodles for a long life. The noodles can't be broken or they won't work! Mom always makes sure we slurp them up without biting for extra luck. She also makes special steamed cakes called gao with brown sugar fillings. When I was a baby, we did the fun zuo yuezi traditions where the new mom and baby stay inside for a whole month! Mom had her mom come over to cook special hot soups and foods for her to regain her strength. I wish I could have that! No school for a whole month? Yes please! One tradition I'm not a big fan of is no hair cutting or nail trimming during certain times. It's supposed to be bad luck. My grandma gets so mad whenever I get my hair cut around the Qingming Festival in early spring. She says I'm disrespecting my ancestors. I just want to look good for my school pictures, Grandma! There are a lot of other little traditions too, like what foods to eat during each season, what numbers are lucky or unlucky, which directions are auspicious, and so on. It can all be confusing but it's really interesting to learn about our culture's history and values.Well, that's it about my family's cultural traditions! Bet you didn't know celebrating holidays could be so elaborate and meaningful. Keeping these customs alive connects us to our roots and brings my family even closer together. I'm proud of my heritage and can't wait to pass these traditions down one day! Let me know if you have any neat cultural traditions too. Thanks for reading, friends!篇3Hey guys! Today I'm gonna tell you all about Unit 7 from our English book. It's called "Culture Matters" and it's super interesting! The unit starts by talking about different cultures around the world. Did you know there are thousands of different cultures? Crazy right? A culture is like the way a group of people live - the food they eat, the holidays they celebrate, the clothes they wear, and so on.One of the first things we learned is that cultures can be really different from each other. Like in some cultures, it's rude toburp after eating. But in other cultures, burping shows you enjoyed the food! Isn't that weird? In my culture, we try not to burp too much. The book talks about cultural differences with things like greetings, personal space, making eye contact, and more. For example, in some cultures you greet people with a handshake. But in other cultures you might bow, hug, or even rub noses together! I think rubbing noses would feel super silly. We also learned about cultural values - the ideas and beliefs that are important in a culture. Things like respecting your elders, being on time, valuing education, and so on. The book said that sometimes cultural values can clash when people from different backgrounds interact. That's why it's good to learn about other cultures.Another cool part was reading about cultural celebrations and festivals from around the globe. There are so many fun and interesting ones! Like the Day of the Dead in Mexico where people dress up like skeletons. Or the Lantern Festival in China with Beautiful lanterns lighting up the sky. I would love to see celebrations like those someday.Toward the end of the unit, we talked about cultural heritage and identity. Your cultural heritage is the traditions and customsyou get from your ancestors. It's a big part of who you are! The book said it's important to be proud of your heritage while also respecting other cultures too.We did lots of fun activities and assignments for this unit too. One time we had to research a cultural celebration and present it to the class. I chose Chinese New Year because I love the red decorations and delicious dumplings! Yum.Another time, we played a game where we had to guess how people from different cultures would greet each other. We had to decide if they would shake hands, hug, bow, or something else. It was tricky but I learned a lot!Overall, I thought Unit 7 was awesome. Learning about all the amazing cultures in our world was so interesting. It really showed me how diverse humanity is and how we need to appreciate all the different ways of life out there.Plus, understanding cultural differences can help prevent misunderstandings and conflicts. If everyone was more aware of cultural values and practices, I bet we could all get along better as a global family!Anyway, those are my thoughts on this unit from our English book. Let me know if you have any other questions! Studyingdifferent cultures has been one of my favorite parts of learning English so far. Our world is just so cool and colorful, don't you think? Okay, gotta run - until next time!篇4Unit 7: The Wonders of Science and TechnologyScience and technology are so cool! There are so many amazing things that scientists and engineers have made. It's like living in the future with all the awesome gadgets and gizmos we have nowadays. My favorite has to be computers and the internet. Can you imagine living without being able to go online, watch videos, play games, and look up anything you want to know? The internet puts the whole world at our fingertips. With just a few clicks, I can video chat with my cousin in another country, download new apps, or learn about ancient Egypt. It'smind-blowing!Speaking of Egypt, have you seen those 3D printers that can actually print out solid objects? You just design something on the computer and the 3D printer creates a plastic model of it. People are even using them to print out artificial hands, armsand legs for people who lost their real ones. That's some real-life sci-fi magic right there! And then there are robots. Not just the human-shaped ones you see in movies, but real working robots that assemble cars in factories, explore other planets, and even perform surgeries. Robots are way stronger, faster and more precise than humans. Maybe someday we'll have robot maids to clean our rooms for us!Of course, the coolest technology has to be smartphones. My dad's old brick phone seems so lame compared to my sleek iPhone. A smartphone is like having a portable computer, camera, music player, GPS, and gaming system all rolled into one. Plus all the awesome apps like Snapchat for swapping silly selfies with my BFFs. I can't live without my phone! Some other crazy cool inventions are self-driving cars, virtual reality headsets that make you feel like you're in a video game, and 3D TVs that make movies seem to jump right out at you. And don't even get me started on all the awesome new video games coming out with their insane graphics and immersive worlds to explore. Not everything new is all fun and games though. Science has also given us things that can really help people and make theworld better. Like those artificial leaf things that can make clean fuel from just sunlight and water. Or those special net-releasing syringe thingies that can quickly stop people from bleeding to death. And those marine permaculture bright things that can light up whole areas in the ocean without electricity.Of course, my personal fave helpful invention has to be the internet again. Besides games and social media, we can use it for online learning, video tutoring, and looking up advice for dealing with things like stress, anxiety and bullying. The internet has answers to basically every question we could ever have. That said, the internet and technology aren't perfect. I've heard rumors about some weirdos using the internet for cyberbullying, scamming, and sharing inappropriate things. My parents are always warning me about protecting my privacy online and not trusting everything I see or read. So we have to be smart and careful with how we use all this amazing technology.Overall though, I'm just in awe at how science and technology have made the world so much more awesome, efficient and fun than it used to be. Every day, scientists are working hard to create new mind-bending inventions that will change our lives even more. Self-driving rocket cars that can take us to Mars? Hologram phone calls? Those would be so epic!Who knows what crazy new devices and breakthroughs we'll have in the future? I just hope they keep taking us to new frontiers and making our wildest dreams into realities. Living in the 21st century is just a non-stop thrill ride of sci-fi made real. I can't wait to see what sort of futuristic wonders the next generation will cook up!篇5Unit 7: Environment ProtectionHi friends! Today I want to talk about something really really important - protecting the environment! The environment is like the big house we all live in together with the plants, animals, air, water, and everything around us. But some people are being really mean and making a big mess in our house. That's no good! You see, there are these things called pollutants that are getting everywhere and making the air hard to breathe, the water yucky, and even hurting the plants and animals. Pollutants are bad! They come from factories that make too much smoke and dirty stuff. Cars and buses make pollutants too when they burn gas to go vroom vroom down the road. Even we regular people make pollutants sometimes when we throw out too much trash instead of recycling. Not cool! When there are too many pollutants, it causes something really scary called environmental pollution. That means the air gets super duper smoggy and gross to breathe. The water in rivers and oceans gets all slimy and filled with junk. The soil gets poisoned so plants and trees can't grow right. Animals' homes get ruined and they get very sick. Environmental pollution is the worst! But don't worry, there are lots of things we can all do to help protect the environment from getting too polluted! First, we can recycling all our bottles, cans, paper, and other stuff instead of just chucking it in the trash. Recycling turns old things into fresh new things so we don't need to make as much new stuff and make less pollution. Easy peasy! We can also save energy by turning off lights when we leave a room, unplugging TVs and gadgets when we're not using them, and walking or riding our bikes instead of taking a car for short trips. Saving energy means less gross smoke from power plants. Three cheers for saving energy!Another thing we can do is use less plastic and styrofoam and things like that. Plastic is made from oil and oil is really bad for the environment to dig up. Plus plastic never ever breaks down and just sits in landfills and oceans forever making a hugemess. No thanks! We should bring our own reusable bags to the store and use paper or no straws instead of plastic straws.Planting more trees and flowers is awesome for the environment too! Trees and plants make the air fresher by taking in carbon dioxide (that's a pollutant) and giving us back nice clean oxygen to breathe. They make the world prettier too! We should all plant a little garden if we can.Lastly, we need to get our parents, teachers, leaders, and everyone to make stronger laws to make companies stop polluting so much. Pollution is a huge problem but if we all work together we can fix it! We have to take really good care of our Earth because it's the only home we've got.Protecting the environment might seem like a big, hard job. But every little thing we do makes a difference - turning off lights, recycling, using less plastic, planting trees, and telling grown-ups to make good laws. The most important thing is that we all need to be environment protectors from now on! Let's keep our Earth house clean and green for us and all the animals too. The environment is our friend and we need to be friends back! Who's with me?篇6Unit 7 EssayHi there! My name is Emma and I am a primary school student. My teacher asked us to write an essay for Unit 7 of our Senior Two Elective English Course. I'm not really sure what that means, but I will try my best!I love learning English because it's such a fun language. My favorite part is learning new words. Some English words are really silly and make me giggle. Like "hippopotamus" - that's a really long word for a big animal! Whenever I say it, I feel like I'm tongue-tied. Another funny word is "onomatopoeia" which means words that sound like their meaning. Like "buzz" for a bee or "oink" for a pig. Isn't that crazy? In our English classes, we often have to read stories and poems. My favorite story is Goldilocks and the Three Bears. I feel really bad for the three bears because Goldilocks was so naughty! She ate their porridge, broke a chair, and even slept in Baby Bear's bed. If I was Baby Bear, I would have been so upset. ButI'm glad the story has a happy ending and Goldilocks learns her lesson. We also have to write stories and essays in English class. I'm not a very good writer, but I try my hardest. Last week, we had to write a story about going on vacation. This is what I wrote:"Last summer, my family went on vacation to the beach. We stayed in a big hotel right near the ocean. Every morning, I woke up and could hear the waves crashing on the shore. It was so relaxing! I loved playing in the sand and swimming in the cool water. My little brother even found a starfish! On our last day, we went on a boat tour to look for dolphins. We saw so many jumping out of the water. It was the best vacation ever!"Writing in English is hard because I have to remember lots of grammar rules. Like when to use "a" or "an" before a noun. And where to put apostrophes for possessive nouns. My teacher is always reminding me about subject-verb agreement too. If the subject is "she", I have to say "she is" instead of "she are". English is a tricky language!Even though writing is difficult, I'm working really hard to improve. I practice by keeping a journal and writing about my day. I also like to make up silly stories and fairy tales. My dream is to become an author one day and write a book in English. How cool would that be?Well, I think that's enough for my Unit 7 essay. I covered some of my favorite English words, the stories we read, a writing sample, and the challenges of English grammar. I hope my teacher thinks it's a good essay, even though I'm just a kid.Learning English is fun and I'm proud of how much I've learned so far. Thanks for reading!。

英语童话故事:The Tongue Cut SparrowIn a little house in a little old village in Japan lived a little old man and his little old wife. One morning when the old woman slid open the screens which form the sides of the Japanese houses, she saw on the doorstep a poor little sparrow. She took him up gently and fed him. Then she held him in the bright morning sunshine until the cold dew was dried from his wings.Afterward, she let him go, so that he might fly home to his nest, but he stayed with her to thank her with his songs. Over the bridge and up themountain," said the bat. Then he blinked his sleepy eyes and was fast asleep again. They went over the bridge and up the mountain, but again they found two roads and did not know which one to take.A little field mouse peeped through the leaves and grass, so they asked him, "Do you know where the tongue-cut sparrow went?" "Yes. "Which will you take?" One basket was large and looked very full, while the other one seemed very small and light. The cross old woman whohad cut the sparrow's tongue was spying through the screen when they opened their basket. She saw the rolls of silk and piles of gold, and planned how she might get some for herself. When at last she reached home she was tired out, but she pulled the screens tightly closed so that no one could look in, and opened her treasure.Treasure indeed! A whole swarm of horrible creatures burst from the basket the moment she opened it. They stung her and bit her, they pushed her and pulled her, and scratched her. At last she crawled to the edge of the room and slid aside the screen to get away from the pests. The。
