Some people say individuals can do nothing to improve the environment, only governments and large companies can make a what extent do you agree or disagree?
Some people assert that there is no justification for individuals in tackling environmental problems, whereas it is the business exclusive to authorities and companies. I completely disagree with this opinion as I do not see any fields that can be isolated from the general public. From an individual perspective, there are many things they can do to reduce their contribute to environmental pollution. One option is that residents can reduce the emissions of thecarbon dioxide by driving less and traveling more by public effect has been approved in many metropolitan cities like Shanghai, where convenient and affordable public transport services have played an importantrole in the reduction of exhaust fumes from vehicles. Another practical action that can be taken by individuals is to classify rubbish, which can make a huge difference in recycling waste. In addition, it looks absurd to me that environmental issues are reckoned to be only addressed by politicians and business moguls. While some might argue that it is the administration that has the power to legislate against pollution,we should not forget that many bills are initiated under the influence of the public opinion. One convincing example is the decision of Brexit based on the referendum of British citizens. Also, industrial pollution should not be the only culprit to blame. One striking fact we cannot afford to ignore is the enormous amount of daily rubbish from households, such as the plastic bags and packages. How can we focus only on enterprises while turning a blind eye on household waste? In conclusion, I do not think the problem of pollution could be addressed by authorities and large companies without the involvement of individuals.小作文题型:柱状图题目:5个国家的人均杂志购买量。

2019年12月17日雅思大作文真题及范文Task:Some people think getting old is entirely bad, but other people do think it’s much better for old people tolive now than in the past. Please show your idea with explanation, examples and your knowledge.Sample answer:It has become a common phenomenon for people in a number of countries to enjoy an increasing life expectancy. While some people believe it is horrible just to imagine gettingold , I think the situation has completely changed comparingto decades ago and now elderly people can lead a happy life.In some cases, the seniors do experience empty nest syndrome because their children are away from home. However, things are different nowadays. There are numerous residential homes with trained carers in a country and they have become a perfect place for the elderly to stay after retirement, where the elderly will not feel lonely and bored with the companyof their peers.Another concern for numerous senior citizens is thehealth problem. In the past, without advanced medical science, the seniors tend to suffer from various kinds of diseases, which decrease their quality of life at great extent. By contrast, the medical science is developing at an amazing speed and this trend can at least delay the onset of some chronic conditions and with healthy body, the elderly canenjoy happier lives.Apart from the two factors discussed above, instead of feeling useless or frustrated, elderly people can work beyond the retirement age or devote themselves to somewhere else to enrich their life. For example, a friend of my grandfather work as a part time doctor in his local community. In this way, not only does he make best use of his time, but also help a number of neighbours. To sum up, I hold the viewpoint that with the development of society and care from family members, elderly people can enjoy a moreisfying and meanfuling life.。

2019年12月英语a级真题作文答案In the December 2019 English A-Level examination, the essay question posed a thought-provoking scenario: the significance of perseverance in overcoming obstacles and achieving goals. This essay explores the essence of perseverance, examining its role in personal and professional success, drawing parallels from real-life experiences and historical figures who have epitomized this quality.Perseverance is the steadfastness in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success. It is the engine that propels us forward when faced with challenges and setbacks. In the world of competitive exams like the English A-Level, perseverance becomes a critical factor in determining one's success. It is not merely about the intelligence or talent of the individual; it is about the determination and resilience they display in the face of adversity.History is witness to numerous examples of individuals who have achieved remarkable feats through perseverance. Thomas Edison, the inventor of the light bulb, failed上千次before he succeeded. His famous quote, "I have notfailed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work," encapsulates the essence of perseverance. Similarly, the story of Jane Goodall, who dedicated her life to studying chimpanzees in the wild, despite initial doubts and difficulties, is another testament to the power of perseverance. In the modern context, perseverance is equally relevant. The world is full of uncertainties and challenges, and itis perseverance that helps us navigate through these tough times. For students preparing for competitive exams, perseverance is the key to overcoming the stress andanxiety that come with the territory. It is about staying focused, maintaining discipline, and never giving up, regardless of the obstacles. Moreover, perseverance is not just about achieving personal goals; it also contributes to professional success. In any field, whether it is business, science, or the arts, success often requires years of hard work, dedication, and perseverance. The most successful individuals are those whorefuse to give up easily and continue to push themselves, learning from their failures and moving forward. In conclusion, perseverance is a quality that is invaluable in both personal and professional life. It is the driving force that helps us overcome obstacles, learn from our mistakes, and ultimately achieve our goals. As we look ahead to future challenges and opportunities, let us remember the power of perseverance and embrace it as a guiding principle in our journey.**坚持不懈的力量**在2019年12月的英语A级考试中,作文题目提出了一个引人深思的场景:坚持不懈在克服障碍和实现目标中的重要性。
2019年6月英语a级考试作文2019年6月英语A级考试作文 The world is changing at a breakneck pace, and with it, the definition of success is evolving. Gone are the days when a secure job and a comfortable life were the ultimate goals. Today, success is more about finding your purpose and making a meaningful contribution to the world. This shift in perspective is driven by several factors, including globalization, technological advancements, and a growing awareness of social and environmental issues. One of the most significant changes is the rise of the gig economy and the entrepreneurial spirit. Many young people are opting out of the traditional career path and choosing to forge their own path. They are driven by a desire for autonomy, flexibility, and the opportunity to make a real difference. This trend is further fueled by the accessibility of technology and online platforms that make it easier than ever to start a business or freelance career. Another key factor is the growing importance of social responsibility and environmental sustainability. Today's generation is acutely aware of the challenges facing our planet and is actively seeking solutions. They are looking for careers and businesses that align with their values and contribute to a better future. This has led to a surge in social enterprises and businesses with a strong focus on sustainability. The pursuit of success is no longer just about personal gain;it's about finding your place in the world and making a positive impact. This requires a holistic approach that considers not only financial security but also personal fulfillment, social connections, and environmental consciousness. Finding your purpose is often a journey of self-discovery. It involves exploring your passions, values, and strengths. It's about understanding what truly motivates you and what kind of legacy you want to leave behind. This journey can be challenging, but it is ultimately rewarding. Making a meaningful contribution can take many forms. It could be starting a business that solves a social problem, volunteering your time to a worthy cause, or simply being a kind and compassionate person in your daily life. The important thing is to find something that you are passionate about and use your skills and talents to make a difference. In conclusion, success in the 21st century is about much more than just money and status. It's about finding your purpose, making a meaningful contribution to theworld, and living a life that is aligned with your values. This shift inperspective is creating a new generation of changemakers who are driven by adesire to make the world a better place. When you hear a question, read thefour possible answers on your paper and decide which one is the best answer tothe question you have heard.Questions11 through 13 are based on the following passage. With the fascinating past and more than4 centuries of history, St. Augustine is one the nation's oldest cities and anAmerican treasure. Located on Florida's Atlantic coast, it is home to many fineexamples of European architecture and wild scenic views. In 1513, while looking for the storiedfountain of youth, an explorer found this land and called it Le Florida andclaimed it for Spain. Then, in 1565, a Spanish conqueror established asettlement there, and named it St. Augustine. Except for a twenty-year period of English rule, Florida remained under Spanish rule until the United Statestook control in 1821.In the years after its founding, thecity of St. Augustine was attacked by the French and English, and by nativeAmericans, who are said to have shot flaming arrows at the city's defensivebuilding, setting it on fire.More recently, nature has stricken theregion with hurricanes, Matthew in 2016 and Irma in 2017. Still, St. Augustineinjures. As the region recovers, visitors shouldn't overlook it. St. Augustinehas suffered much in itslong history. Hopefully, visitors will come andperhaps support the Florida coast recovery while discovering its centuries ofhistory and miles of coastal beauty.11. Whichcountry first governed Florida in history?12. Which of thefollowing statements is true of St. Augustine?13. What is thepassage mainly about?Questions14 through 16 are based on the following passage.Transport for London has a lost propertyoffice, which collects the items left behind as people flow through the city'stransport system each day.It is the biggest lost property officein Europe, beaten globally only by Tokyo's. 65 staffs sort through hundreds ofthousands of lost and forgotten items each at the office, which is run by PaulCohen. According to the latest data, Cohen's team dealt with over three hundredthousand items in the first quarter of the year.As the data reveals, very few areclaimed. For example, of the nearly thirteen thousand keys handed in to lostproperty last year, just under one thousand four hundred were returned to theirowners, says Cohen. Overall, twenty percent of stock is claimed within threemonths. SECTION 7The passages below are followed by questions based on their content; questions following a pair of related passages may also be based on the relationship between the paired passages. Answer the questions on the basis of what is stated or implied in the passages and in any introductory material that may be provided.Questions 9-11 are based on the following passages.Passage 1Caves have always haunted the imagination. The ancient Greeks shuddered at tales of Cerberus, the three-headed dog guarding the entrance to Hades, and countless legends and Hollywood fantasies include a spine-tingling staple: unknown creatures lurking in the next claustrophobic corridor, hungry and waiting for visitors. Now it turns out that bizarre, voracious denizens of the underworld arc not wholly imaginary. Biologists slithering into ever deeper, tighter recesses are coming face-to-face with a fast-growing list of cave-dwelling spiders, centipedes, leeches, mites, scorpions, beetles, fish, snails, worms, and salamanders, along with thick beds of bacteria and fungi that sometimes make a living off the very rocks.Passage 2Five hundred feet below the bright-green rain forest, my fellow cave diver slips into the dark-green waters of a Hooded cave passage called Tunkul Sump. Loaded with lights and two scuba tanks, he unreels a thin white nylon cord, his lifeline back from the unexplored passage. I sit near the sump and wait. It's April 30. 1999. my sixth expedition to the Chiquibul cave system in Belize and Guatemala. On each trip Heel I'm opening books in an underground library that has preserved records of dramatic climate change over time, of the lives of the ancient Maya who once used these caves, and of numerous animal species, living and extinct.9. Both Passage 1 and Passage 2 indicate that caves are home to(A) fossilized remains(B) sedimentary rocks(C) mythological creatures(D) ancient human artifacts(E) multiple animal species10. The authors of both passages would most likely agree that caves(A) were left unexplored due to the dangers involved(B) are threatened by excessive exploration(C) continue to yield new discoveries(D) provide information about ancient civilizations(E) fuel people's fears about the underworld11. The last sentence of Passage 2 serves primarily to(A) show the extent to which the climate of the area has changed(B) point out that the cave was once home to species that are now extinct(C) indicate the danger associated with an expedition of this kind(D) convey the idea that the cave serves as a historical chronicle(E) suggest that underwater cave exploration is more productive than scholarly researchSECTION 7Questions 12-23 are based on the following passage. The passage below was adapted from a novel published in 1987.I am a painter. I paint portraits and townscapes— views of the inner city, of shabby streets, small, dusty parks, crumbling tenements. That is my art, my reason for living. Unhappily, it is not productive in the crude sense. In spite 5of kindly reviews of my occasional exhibitions and the loyal response of old friends who attend the private views and buy the smaller paintings, my work only brings in a pittance. The trade that I live by. that pays the bills and the mortgage, that gives my mother the necessary allowance to |0 keep her in reasonable comfort in her small house, is that of a copyist.I am (I mast make this clear an honest craftsman; not a cheat, not a forger.I am no Tom Keating, aging a picture with a spoonful of instant coffee, spraying on fly specks15 with a mixture of asphalt and turpentine, pretending to have come upon an unknown Old Master in a junk shop or attic. I paint copies of famous paintings, sometimes for private persons or institutions, but mostly for the directors of companies who want an impressive decoration to hang in20 their boardrooms. Deception of an innocent kind is their intention; asked if the picture is genuine, few of them. I imagine, would lie. Nor would they be wise to. Whether they know it or not (and in some cases 1 am sure that they do know, collaborating with me in a further, minor25 deception out of pleasure and a shared sense of humor), my copies are never exact. That is where vanity comes in. One wants to leave one's mark on the world. Like many another craftsman, like an apprentice stonecutter carving a gargoyle on a cathedral.30 I want to make my individual contribution to the grand design, t copy the painting with all the skill at my disposal, all the tricks; squaring up, measuring with calipers, using photographs, a projector, a light box for transparencies to get as near as I can to the true color. I try to match the35 pigments used by the artist, grinding my own Naples yellow, or buying it ina tube from Budapest where ii is still legal to sell it ready made with Lead and antimony. But instead of adding my signature, I change some insignificant feature.I alter the expression of a man in o crowd, add40 a tiny animal face in a dim corner, a mouse or a weasel, replace the diamond on a woman's hand with a ruby, paint a watch on a wrist in an eighteenth-century portrait. How many casual observers would notice Or care if they did'* Most people chortle to see experts confounded.45 All art. of course, is full of deception. Nature, too, and human behavior, but more of that later. Remember thestory of Zeuxis No Then I'll tell you. (Bear with me. The tale will develop, I hope, when I can find my way into it. but I am only a painter, unused to the art of narrative flow.)50 This Zeuxis lived in Athens in the fourth century . He painted a picture of grapes with such skill that sparrows Hew in and tried to peck al the fruit. Amused, Zeuxis invited another painter lo witness a repeat performance. A rival, whose name was Parrhasius. HE affected to be55 unimpressed. To cheat sparrows was nothing extraordinary. "Bird brained" was his buzzword. The birth of a clichéParrhasius went home and brooded. His turn to ask his friend Zeuxis to inspect a painting. It was concealed behind a curtain. Zeuxis tried lo unveil it and failed: the draperies60 had been painted. Zeuxis. who was either a fool, or a very nice man. or simply somewhat shortsighted, was generous with praise. "I was only able to deceive a few sparrows, but you have deceived me. a man and an artist."This hoary old legend has its quirky, private significance65 for me. Ever since I first heard it. at school, it made me want to be an artist good enough to fool the experts.Tom Keating (1018-1984) was an art restorer and famous art forcer who claimed to have forged over 2000 paintings by over 100 different artists.12. hi line 4, "Unhappily" most nearly means(A) Inappropriately(B) Mournfully(C) Unfortunately(D) Awkwardly(E) Unexpectedly13. Both passages were written in the I$8Qs.Passage 1As I was passing as unconsciously as possible through one of humanity's most insidious institutions, junior high school, something dramatic yet subtle was taking place in my teenage consciousness. I didn't recognize it for what5 it was at the time. Nobody did. But it was happening to all ' of us, just the same. It didn't take long for adults to tell us what it was, however, and they weren't very happy. They called it primitive, communistic, filthy, smutty, and obscene; we called it rock and roll. We were both right.10 Today, with over 30 years of hindsight available, the whole phenomenon seems relatively clear and, if possible, even more provocative than it seemed atits inception. What I and my fellow sufferers were experiencing was the beginning of America's first genuine cultural revolution.15 This statement may seem exaggerated for two somewhat contradictory reasons. First, we've always been taught that America's war of independence from England was a true revolution, something of an exaggeration in itself. Second, and more important, we're reluctant to give up the20 American myth of a slow and steady (but inevitable) progress toward an earthly perfection. Americans have always tolerated many more disagreements over the nature of their goals than over how they could be achieved. The process was expected to be rational, well ordered, and25 continuous. So even to suggest the possibility of a cultural revolution in America must appear not only factually absurd but blasphemous as well. Revolution is as heretical a doctrine in America as abolishing the monarchy would be in England. Nevertheless, despite the overwhelmingly30 conservative assumptions of most Americans, we are in fact in the throes ofa genuine and dramatic revolution in our culture, and it behooves us to understand it before passing judgment. From its beginnings, rock music has challenged the35 basic values of the culture in which it emerged: not all at once, not always self-consciously, certainly not programmatically. but surely and steadily nevertheless. First came challenges to the accepted beliefs about sex, race, and work; then nationalism, war, and economics40 came under attack. By implication, of course, the entire conception of reality that supported these values was negated. Essentially, what was being rejected was a particular view of the American tradition, with its firmconvictions about destiny, inevitable progress, absolutist45 morality, and fixed social positions. Sociologists had been studying and criticizing this value scheme. Rock and roll, however, didn't propose to study it; rock and roll proposed to abolish it.Passage 2In its beginnings, rock and roll was the music of teens50 and very young adults. But as we entered the 1970s, an inevitable fact became obvious: those 1950s teenagers were entering middle age and they still liked rock.A baby born in 1940 was fifteen years old when "Rock Around the Clock" hit number one; in 1970 that same person turned55 thirty but very likely still liked Elvis, the Beach Boys. Dylan, and the Beatles. And in 1985 that "baby" was solidly middle-aged and in all probability still liked those artists as well as a few newer ones—established groups and performers such as Chicago, Fleetwood Mac, and60 Lionel Richie. Notice the number of "classic rock" and "adult rock" radio stations on your FM dial Those are aimed at a relatively affluent segment of the adult population that is roughly thirty-five to fifty years old. These people are hitting their peak earning years (a fact65 of considerable interest to radio advertisers), and they want to hear theirfavorite artists from the 1950s and 1960s, as well as a few of the more conservative acts of the 1970s and 1980s. Indeed, the rock market now extends to people in their fifties.70 At the other end of this demographic expansion are the preteens. The lowering of the age of rock consumerism has accelerated with the coming of MTV and other televised rock video formats. It should come as no surprise to anyone that children — little children—like television.75 While parents and older siblings are at work, at school, or elsewhere, younger kids have a choice of cartoons, reruns, game shows, or the most up-to-date rock videos. The television rock videos have brought an increasingly younger population into the world of rock and roll.80 What this means is that rock and roll is no longer ateen-oriented countercultural phenomenon. It now pervades much of American culture. It cuts across economic groups, social levels, and ethnic groups. The rock style permeates movie music, music for television, advertising music, jazz,85 music at athletic events, church music, and country music. Granted, within rock there are countercultural trends, but as a generic entity, rock so permeates our entire culture that other styles of music—such as jazz, classical, and pure country and western — are considered to be on the90 fringe, admired by small subcultural groups.7. Which of the following best stales the relationship between the two passages(A) Passage 1 assesses the impact of a phenomenon, whereas Passage 2 offers a demographic perspective on that same phenomenon.(B) Passage 1 sketches the historical causes of an event, whereas Passage 2 considers that event from a contemporary perspective.(C) Passage 1 criticizes the existence of a certain attitude, whereas Passage2 argues that this attitude is inevitable.(D) Passage 1 provides a personal reflection on a movement, whereas Passage 2 predicts the implications of that movement.(E) Passage 1 urges readers to undertake a particular course of action, whereas Passage 2 offers a sober consideration of the dangers of doing so.8. The two authors would most likely agree with which of the following statements(A) Most rock music continues to question personal beliefs and national politics.(B) The effect that rock and roll would have on society was not anticipated in the 1950s.(C) A phenomenon such as popular music ought to be appreciated for what it is, not studied or classified.(D) Even those people who once strongly objected to rock and roll will eventuallycome to appreciate it.(E) Were it not for radio and television, rock music would not have had such a major influence on culture.9. Which respectively describes the attitudes toward rock music of the "adults" (line 6, Passage 1) and the "people" (line 64, Passage 2)(A) Apathetic. . passionate(B) Ambivalent... accepting(C) Intrigued... uninterested(D) Disapproving. , appreciative(E) Fearful... baffled10. In line 8, "primitive" most nearly means(A) fundamental(B) archetypal(C) self-taught(D) barbaric(E) original11- The author's strategy in the first paragraph of Passage 1 is best described as one that uses(A) a series of hypothetical questions to set up a debate(B) a set of well-established facts to persuade the reader(C) persona] experience to engage the reader(D) exaggerated ridicule to discredit an idea(E) understatement to satirize a point of view12. Why are the "reasons" discussed in lines 15-21 characterized by the author as "contradictory”(A) Americans are critical of their country's revolution but do not fully understand the revolution's significance.(B) No cultural revolution has taken place, but there are signs of one.(C) A mericans like to think of their country as having been created by revolution, yet they do not believe in sudden change.(D) Adults who publicly railed against rock and roll had to admit that they privately enjoyed it.(E) Although rock and roll began as a rebellion against authority, it has become an arbiter of societal norms.13. In lines 25-29 ("So even ... England"), the author of Passage 1 suggests that most Americans are essentially(A) suggestible(R) malcontented(C) cautious(D) unorthodox(E) illogical14. In lines 35-37 in Passage 1 ("not... programmatically") and line 86 in Passage 2 ("Granted . . . trends"), each author attempts to(A) undermine a fallacy(B) rebut an argument(C) reiterate an idea(D) qualify an assertion(E) dismiss a tendency15. Based on the information in Passage 2, its author would most likely agree with which of the following views(A) Because it was intended primarily as entertainment, rock and roll has not engaged in serious social criticism.(B) Because of its adaptability and consumer appeal, rock and roll has been easily assimilated into society.(C) Because it is the music of the young, rock and roll has retained an innovative spirit.(D) Because rock-and-roll musicians have not constituted a unified group, their political goals, while sincere, have remained unfocused.(E) Because most adults did not appreciate rock and roll, they could not have been significantly changed by it.16. In line 64, "hitting" most nearly means(A) requesting(B) discovering(C) winning(D) striking(E) reaching17. Which of the following most resembles the phenomenon described in lines 80-85, Passage 2 ("What this . .. country music")(A) People are less familiar with classical music today than they were in the nineteenth century.(B) Stylistic features once found exclusively in folk art are now prevalent in a wide variety of visual art forms.(C) Creating movies from well-received Broadway musicals has become more common today than it was in the past.(D) Although people read fewer books for pleasure today than people did three decades ago, overall book sales have been steadily increasing.(E) Previously disparaged by critics, comic books have recently become the subject of several academic literary studies.18. The examples given in lines 84-85 in Passage 2 ("movie music ... country music") serve primarily to(A) illustrate how pervasive rock music has become(B) demonstrate how rock music is more appropriate in some situations than in others(C) suggest that the most popular activities arc those that include rock music(D) offer specific reasons why both children and older people have become interested in rock music(E) note instances in which rock musicians have profited from their music19. A major point of difference between the two passages is that Passage 1(A) presents rock and roll as a radical departure fromprevious musical styles, whereas Passage 2 presents it as a natural step in the evolution of musical trends(B) views only the first generation of rock and roll as authentic, whereas Passage 2 argues that the music blossomed only in later generations(C) argues that radicals created rock and roll, whereas Passage 2 argues that rock and roll created radicals(D) argues that American society is fundamentally revolutionary, whereas Passage 2 argues that it is fundamentally conservative(E) argues that rock and roll is primarily an expression of dissent, whereas Passage 2 argues that it evolved into a part of ordinary life20. The argument in Passage 2 differs from the argument in Passage 1 in that Passage 2(A) explores the way rock recordings are sold, whereas Passage 1 explores the feelings listeners have about rock recordings(B) takes an optimistic view about the relationship between rock musicians and society, whereas Passage 1 takes a pessimistic view(C) emphasizes rock's commercial aspects, whereas Passage 1 places rock in a broad social context(D) focuses strictly on rock, whereas Passage 1 considers many different types of music(E) urges adults to rediscover rock, whereas Passage 1 urges adolescents to explore a range of music beyond rock。
2019年12月英语a级真题作文答案全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1My Big Family VacationHi there! My name is Emma and I'm 10 years old. I just got back from the most amazing family vacation ever and I can't wait to tell you all about it!It all started last summer when my mom and dad surprised me and my little brother Michael with the news that we were going to go on a huge trip over Christmas break. They said we could go anywhere we wanted in the whole world! Michael really wanted to go to Disneyland, but I've already been there a bunch of times. I really, really, REALLY wanted to go somewhere new and exciting. After thinking about it for a little while, I decided that I wanted to go to Australia! How cool would it be to go somewhere with kangaroos and koalas and all those neat animals? Michael wasn't too sure about Australia at first because he was scared of spiders (Australia has some really big and ugly ones!). But mom and dad said they could take us to the big citieswhere there aren't too many bugs. That made Michael feel better. So it was decided - we were going to Australia for our big family vacation! We had to save up a lot because the plane tickets were really expensive and we needed enough money for a hotel, food, and fun activities too. Mom and dad let me and Michael do extra chores around the house to earn more allowance. I washed a lot of cars and walked our neighbor's dogs.It took forever, but we finally saved up enough money for the whole trip. The morning we left felt like it would never get here! We had to wake up at 3am just to get to the airport on time for our flight from Boston to Los Angeles. Michael fell back asleep on the plane, but I was wayyyy too excited. After our short layover in LA, we got on a huge plane headed straight for Sydney, Australia! The flight felt like it took about a million years. They kept giving us food and snacks, but I was too anxious to eat much. I just watched movies and played video games on the screen on the back of the seat in front of me.Finally, after what seemed like ages, the pilot announced that we would be landing in Sydney in about 20 minutes. I watched out the window as we descended and I saw theincredible Sydney Opera House for the first time. It was so iconic and beautiful! The sun was rising just as we landed, making the whole city look golden and sparkly. The first few days of our trip, we stayed right in downtown Sydney. We went on a tour of the Opera House, which was just as impressive inside as outside. We also went up to the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge which was scary but had the most amazing views. We took a boat cruise around the harbour too. I tried to spot some whales or sharks but didn't see any (probably for the best!).Sydney was a lot of fun, but I was really excited to start heading out to some of the national parks and wilderness areas. After 3 nights in the city, we rented a car and began driving southwest towards the Blue Mountains.Even the drive itself was exciting! We got to see wild kangaroos hopping right alongside the road. There were also tons of crazy-looking birds that were every color of the rainbow. When we arrived at the Blue Mountains, I couldn't believe how blue the haze over the mountains actually looked. It was so pretty and unlike anything I'd ever seen before. We went on a few really long and challenging hikes through the mountains and valleys. My legs were absolutely exhausted bythe end of each day! But it was so worth it to see all the waterfalls, canyons, and interesting plants and animals. We saw some rock wallabies that were just chilling out on a sunny cliff. Michael was a little scared when we came across snake tracks in the dirt, but our guide said we didn't have to worry about seeing any snakes in the winter.篇2My Favorite ToyHi there! My name is Timmy and I'm in the 4th grade. For this essay, I was asked to write about my favorite toy. That's an easy one for me - it's my teddy bear Mr. Snuggles! I've had Mr. Snuggles ever since I was a tiny little baby. He's gotten pretty worn out over the years from all my cuddles and adventures, but that just makes me love him even more.Mr. Snuggles is a classic brown teddy bear. He's really soft and fluffy, with a cute black nose and bright eyes that always look like they're smiling at you. His fur is kind of matted in some spots from where I've hugged him so much. And one of his ears is a little bent from that time I accidentally dropped him out of my treehouse when I was 6. But those little imperfections just make him extra special to me.I take Mr. Snuggles with me pretty much everywhere I go. He's my trusty sidekick! I bring him to sleepovers, on family vacations, and he even comes with me to the doctor's office so I'm not scared. Sometimes my friends tease me about still carrying around a teddy bear at my age. But I don't care what they think! Mr. Snuggles is my best friend and I'm proud of him.My most vivid memory with Mr. Snuggles is from when I was about 3 years old. It was my first day of preschool and I was feeling really anxious about being away from my parents. I cried and cried and didn't want them to leave me there. But then my mom pulled Mr. Snuggles out of my backpack and handed him to me. As soon as I had him in my arms, I immediately felt better.I stopped crying and gave him a big hug. Having my favorite teddy there with me gave me the courage to stay at school that day. Mr. Snuggles has helped me get through lots of tough times like that over the years.Mr. Snuggles is more than just a toy to me - he's a real friend that I tell all my secrets and problems to. When I'm feeling sad or upset about something, I'll hug him tight and everything seems better. If I'm having trouble falling asleep, snuggling up with Mr. Snuggles always helps me feel safe and relaxed. And when I'mhappy, I like to dance around my room holding him and singing silly songs. He's a great dance partner!I really like how soft and cuddly Mr. Snuggles is. His fur is just the perfect texture for nuzzling my face into when I need some comfort. And he's the ideal size for holding - not too big and not too small, but just right for wrapping my little arms around. I also love that squishy feeling when I give him a big squeeze. It's almost like I can feel the love and happiness oozing out of him and into me.Even though Mr. Snuggles can't actually talk, I like to imagine what he would say if he could. I think he would tell me how proud he is of what a great friend I am to him. He would remind me to always be brave, kind, and curious. And probably most importantly, he would say that no matter what, he'll always be there for me to lean on when I need a pal. Just thinking about those words coming from my oldest and dearest friend makes me feel so happy and loved. As I've gotten older, some people have suggested that I should "grow up" and get rid of Mr. Snuggles since I'm not a little kid anymore. But no way, I could never do that! He means way too much to me. I plan on keeping Mr. Snuggles forever and one day even passing him down to my own children. That way, alittle bit of the love and happiness he's given me can live on and keep getting shared with future generations. To me, Mr. Snuggles represents the importance of keeping a sense of youthful imagination, even as you get older. Sure, he's just a worn out old teddy bear. But he's also a constant reminder that it's okay to be soft, sensitive, and attached to sentimental objects that make you feel good. In a world that's increasingly focused on social media, video games, and technology, it's almost radical to love such a simple, unplugged toy this much. But I don't care - Mr. Snuggles will always hold a special place in my heart. So in conclusion, Mr. Snuggles is hands down my favorite toy of all time! He's been my loyal friend and sidekick through all the ups and downs of my childhood so far. Whenever I'm with him, I feel happy, loved, and comforted no matter what. While some people might think it's babyish to care so much about a tattered old teddy bear, to me he represents all the values that are most important - bravery, kindness, curiosity, and篇3My Big Family TripHi there! His fur is white with gray spots. Floppy has big black eyes that always look really friendly and happy. As soon as I got Floppy, he became my very best friend. I took him with me everywhere I went. He came along on all myadventures, like camping trips, sleepovers, playdates at friends' houses, you name it. Wherever I was, Floppy was right there with me tucked under my arm. We were inseparable!I loved snuggling up with Floppy and telling him all my secrets, hopes and dreams. I'd pretend he could understand me and would whisper everything into his long floppy ear. It felt like Floppy was really listening to me and cared about what I had to say. When I was happy, I'd hug him tightly. And when I felt sad or upset, I'd hold Floppy close and let my tears soak into his soft fur. Just being with my bunny friend made me feel so much better. My Floppy has been everywhere with me and seen everything I've gone through over the past 5 years. He was there during my first day of kindergarten when I was a nervous wreck about being away from my parents. Having Floppy by my side gave me the courage and comfort I needed to make it through that scary day. He's come along on every family vacation we've taken, getting passed around the car to keep me and my little brother entertained during long road trips. Floppy was there to celebrate exciting milestones like losing my first tooth and learning to ride a bike. And he's also been a shoulder to lean on during the tough times, like when my fish Goldie passed away orI had to get shots at the doctor. No matter what was happening in my life, good or bad, Floppy was always there with me.After all these years, Floppy is definitely starting to look a little worn and shabby. His fur is matted in spots from all the hugging and there are holes in a couple of places from being dragged around everywhere. His ears are floppy as ever but one of them is ripped from the time my dog Buster got a hold of him. And his sweet little bunny face is a bit smudged and faded. But none of that matters to me one bit! Floppy's ragged, well-loved appearance just makes him even more perfect and special. It shows how much of our lives we've been through together side-by-side.I'm getting older now and don't play with stuffed animals quite as much these days. But Floppy will always have a permanent spot on my bed or a place on my shelf. He's my most prized possession and means the absolute world to me. Floppy isn't just a toy, he's my oldest friend who has been by my side since I was a tiny kid. He's gotten me through so much and holds the memories of my entire childhood. I'll keep Floppy forever and one day I'll tell my own kids about my lifelong bunny companion and what an important part of my life he was. Sothat's why Floppy the stuffed rabbit is my most favorite, most loved toy ever!篇5My English A-Level Exam AdventureHi there! My name is Emma and I'm 10 years old. I just took the big English A-Level exam in December 2019 and I wanted to tell you all about my exciting adventure! It all started a few months ago when my teacher Mrs. Robertson told our class that we would be taking an important test called the A-Levels. She said it was a really hard exam that students take at the end of secondary school. I was confused because I'm still in elementary school, but she explained that we were just going to practice taking it to get ready for the real thing later. At first, I wasn't too worried about it. I'm pretty good at English and I thought it would be just like the regular tests we take at school. Boy, was I wrong! As we got closer to the exam date, Mrs. Robertson gave us lots of practice papers and mock exams to work on. The questions were super tricky and covered all sorts of things I had never learned before. There were reading comprehension passages that seemed to go on forever with the most confusing vocabulary words. The writing prompts asked us to analyze complicated ideas and construct persuasive arguments. Even the grammar section had rules I didn't fully understand yet. I started to get really nervous that I wouldn't do well on this A-Level test. But my parents and teacher kept encouraging me, saying it was just good practice and not to worry too much about my score. They told me to just try my best and learn what I could from the experience. I took a deep breath and decided they were right - no need to get too stressed out! Finally, the big day arrived - December 14th, 2019. Our whole class showed up extra early at school that morning feeling a mix of excitement and nerves. The exam was being held in the big auditorium instead of our normal classroom. It felt so official and grown-up!Once we got started, I was relieved to find that some of the questions weren't actually as hard as I thought they would be from all the practice. Using the strategies Mrs. Robertson taught us really paid off. But there were definitely still some parts that made me say "Huh??" and want to pull my hair out. After what felt like an eternity of reading, writing, and analyzing every little grammar rule, the exam was finally over. My hand was cramping from writing essays for hours, but I had a huge smile on my face. I was just so proud of myself for pushing through and not giving up, even when things got really difficult. While I'm sure I didn't get a top score worthy of getting into university, the experience of taking such a challenging test at my age was amazing practice. I learned how to manage my time, organize my thoughts, and not freak out over the hard parts. I'm feeling a lot more prepared now for my actual A-Level exams when the time comes. And who knows, maybe I'll even be an A-Level expert by the time I'm a teenager! Anyway, that's my story of being one of the youngest people ever to take the intense English A-Levels. I had a blast and can't wait for my next academic adventure. Thanks for reading!篇6My Awesome Family VacationWoohoo, summer vacation was finally here! No more staying up late doing homework or waking up super early to catch thebus. I was so excited for three entire months of pure freedom and fun.My parents had promised me and my little brother Alex that we would go on an amazing family vacation this summer. They wouldn't tell us where we were going though, they wanted to keep it a surprise! I tried guessing over and over but they wouldn't give me any hints.A few days before we left, my mom told us to start packing our suitcases. "Pack for warm weather," she said with a sneaky grin. Hmm, that didn't really narrow it down much since it's summer and warm everywhere. I stuffed my suitcase full oft-shirts, shorts, sandals, and my favorite teddy bear of course. I could never go anywhere without Mr. Snuggles! Finally the morning came when we loaded up the car and headed to the airport. An airport? Did this mean we were going on an airplane to some other country? How exciting! I loved traveling but had never been on a really long plane ride before. After going through security and everything, we finally boarded our huge plane. Alex and I raced to get window seats so we could see outside. The plane took off and we were soaring high up above the clouds. Every time I looked out the window, the view was incredibly beautiful.Eventually we landed and made our way through the busy airport terminal. That's when I saw a sign that said "Bienvenidos a México!" Mexico?! We were going to Mexico for our vacation? This was going to be the best trip ever!We took a shuttle from the airport to our amazing resort right on the beach. I had never seen an ocean in real life before. It was enormous, stretching out as far as I could see. The water was the most brilliant shades of blue and green. I couldn't wait to swim in it!Our hotel room had a big balcony with a view overlooking the whole beach and ocean. At night we could hear the relaxing sounds of the waves crashing on the shore. During the day, the balcony was the perfect place to work on my tan.We spent our days on the beach building sandcastles, splashing in the ocean waves, and just relaxing under the hot sun. The beach had tons of fun activities like jet skiing, parasailing, banana boats, and more. One day we went snorkeling and got to see amazing tropical fish and coral up close.Another day we went on a tour to some ancient ruins from the Maya civilization. Our guide taught us all about the history and showed us around the incredible pyramids and temples. It was like stepping back in time thousands of years. I couldn'tbelieve people had built those huge structures completely by hand, before modern technology and machinery! We also had to do some souvenir shopping while in Mexico. The markets had the coolest arts, crafts, clothes, toys, and more. My favorite souvenirs I bought were a sombrero, some maracas, and a beautiful hand-woven blanket. And obviously we couldn't go to Mexico without trying the amazing food! We had tacos, enchiladas, tamales, churros, and more. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. I had never realized how delicious and flavorful Mexican cuisine is.Evenings at our resort were fun too. They had shows with music, dancing, and entertainment. One night they had a massive pool party with games and a DJ. Even my parents had a blast dancing along with me and Alex to the lively music. All too soon, our wonderful vacation was coming to an end. I was really sad to leave beautiful Mexico and go back home. On our last day, we spent as much time as possible on the beach soaking up the sun, sand, and surf. Finally it was time to pack up our suitcases again and head to the airport. As our plane took off, I stared wistfully out thewindow at Mexico becoming a tiny speck in the distance. I definitely shed a few tears saying goodbye. When we landed back home, I was happy to see my friends and my room again. But I also felt different somehow. More grown up and worldly after experiencing a new country and culture. I had learned and seen so many amazing new things. My family vacation to Mexico was the best trip ever! I'll never forget the incredible experiences, sights, sounds, and flavors. I made so many wonderful memories that I'll cherish forever. I really hope my parents take us on another amazing adventure like that again soon. Maybe next time we can go to Hawaii or Costa Rica? A kid can dream!。

小作文task1:静态图:欧洲一个国家的三年食物消费量表格大作文task2:Some people claim that public museums and art galleries are not needed today because historical projects and art works can be seen using a computer. To what extent do you agree or disagree?(2007.06.07旧题)经典范文We live in a world where we can get information at the click of a mouse. Compared to even a decade ago, the Internet has allowed us to see and do more without ever leaving our desk. But when it comes to viewing objects of art and other items, is it the same as visiting them in person? Clearly I think that there is a difference between something real and virtual.First of all, begin by remembering a trip you made to a museum or historical relic. Surely much of what makes your memory great is not just seeing the object, but all of the other senses that you used as well: the smell, the atmosphere, the other people admiring it. These are only possible when viewing something in person.Secondly, seeing something in person allows you to notice details that you might otherwise miss. For example, when I saw the pyramids in person, I was amazed at how uneven they were up to close, and how large. When I had seen then before online,I had no concept of these details.Of course the Internet can still be a useful visual tool. Beforea person goes on a trip, they can research the place they are visiting along with historical items. That way when they arrive, they can have a better idea of what to expect. But under no circumstances should we think that viewing something online is the same as in person. To conclude,I feel that a virtual, online world should complement but not replace the real one. We all need to get out of our homes and go places to see things, because it is the overall experiences and journey that makes it memorable and meaningful.。
