But its reign is over. In its place, a new generation of services is starting to take hold—services like Twitter and Facebook and countless others vying(竞争)for a piece of the new world. And just as email did more than a decade ago, this shift promises to profoundly rewrite the way we communicate—in ways we can only begin to imagine. We all still use email, of course. But email was better suited to the way we used to use the Internet—logging off and on, checking our messages in bursts. Now, we are always connected, whether we are sitting at a desk or on a mobile phone. The always-on connection, in turn, has created a host of new ways to communicate that are much faster than email, and more fun. Why wait for a response to an email when you get a quicker answer over instant messaging? Thanks to Facebook, some questions can be answered without asking them. You don’t need to ask a friend whether she has left work, if she has updated her public “status” on the site telling the world so. Email, stuck in the era of attachments, seems boring compared to services like Google Wave, currently in test phase, which allows users to share photos by dragging and dropping them from a desktop into a Wave, and to enter comments in near real time. “The whole idea of this email service isn’t really quite as significant anymore when you can have many, many different types of messages and files and when you have this all on the same type of networks.”says Alex Bochannek, curator(馆长)at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, California. Years ago, we were frustrated if it took a few days for a letter to arrive. A couple of years ago, we’d complain about a half-hour delay in getting an email. Today, we gripe about it taking an extra few seconds for a text message to go through. These new services also make communicating more frequent and informal—more like a blog comment or a throwaway aside, rather than a crafted email sent to one person. No need to spend time writing a long email to your half-dozen closest friends about how your vacation went. Now those friends, if they’re interested, can watch it unfold in real time online. Instead of sending a few emails a week to a handful of friends, you can send dozens of messages a day to hundreds of people who know you, or just barely do. Perhaps the biggest change that these email successors bring is more of a public profile for users. In the email world, you are your name followed by a “.com”. That’s it. In the new messaging world, you have a higher profile, packed with data you want to share and possibly some you don’t.Directions: Decide whether the following statements are True or False.61.Being the king of communication in the past, email has lost its dominant position.A.TUREB.FALSE正确答案:A62.People still prefer to waiting for the email to share the information.A.TUREB.FALSE正确答案:B63.People can know what happened to their friends only according to the email and phone call.A.TUREB.FALSE正确答案:B64.Nowadays, you can share lots of information with hundreds of strangers and friends.A.TUREB.FALSE正确答案:A65.The great change of the instant message is to bring more public information.A.TUREB.FALSE正确答案:ASection BSpeeding off in a stolen car, the thief thinks he has got a great catch. But he is in for an unwelcome surprise. The car is fitted with a remote immobiliser(锁止器), and a radio signal from a control centre miles away will ensure that once the thief switches the engine off, he will not be able to start it again. The idea goes like this.A control box fitted to the car contains a mini-cellphone, a micro-processor and memory, and a GPS satellite positioning receiver. If the car is stolen, a coded cellphone signal will tell the control centre to block the vehicle’s engine management system and prevent the engine being restarted. In the UK, a set of technical fixesis already making life harder for car thieves. ‘The pattern of vehicle crime has changed,’ says Martyn Randall, a security expert. He says it would only take him a few minutes to teach a person how to steal a car, using a bare minimum of tools. But only if the car is more than 10 years old. Modern cars are far tougher to steal, as their engine management computer won’t allow them to start unless they receive a unique ID code beamed out by the ignition(点火)key. In the UK, technologies like this have helped achieve a 31 % drop in vehicle-related crime since 1997. But determined criminals are still managing to find other ways to steal cars, often by getting hold of the owner’s keys. And key theft is responsible for 40% of the thefts of vehicles fitted with a tracking system. If the car travels 100 metres without the driver confirming their ID, the system will send a signal to an operations centre that it has been stolen. The hundred metres minimum avoids false alarms due to inaccuracies in the GPS signal. Our planet has shrunk. It’s now a “global village”where countries are only seconds away by fax or phone or satellite link. And, of course, our ability to benefit from this high-techcommunications equipment is greatly enhanced by foreign language skills. Deeply involved with this new technology is a breed of modern businesspeople who have a growing respect for the economic value of doing business abroad. In modern markets, success overseas often helps support domestic business efforts. Overseas assignments are becoming increasingly important to advancement within executive ranks. The executive stationed in another country no longer need fear being “out of sight and out of mind”. He can be sure that the overseas effort is central to the company’s plan for success, and that promotions often follow or accompany an assignment abroad. If an employee can succeed in a difficult assignment overseas, superior will have greater confidence in his ability to cope back in the United States where cross-cultural considerations and foreign language issues are becoming more and more prevalent. Thanks to a variety of relatively inexpensive communications devices with business applications, even small businesses in the United States are able to get into international markets. English is still the international language of business. But there is an ever-growing need for people who can speak another language. A second language isn’t generally required to get a job in business, but having language skills gives a candidate the edge when other qualifications appear to be equal.Directions: Complete the following sentences with information given in the passage in a maximum of 10 words for each blank.71.The author’s attitude toward high-tech communications equipment is______.正确答案:positive72.With the increased use of high-tech communications equipment, businesspeople______.正确答案:are attaching more importance to their overseas business73.If one wants to advance within executive ranks, he’d better have the experience of______.正确答案:overseas assignments74.______is an important consideration of international corporations in employing people today.正确答案:Ability to speak the client’s language75.The advantage of employees having foreign language skills is that they can______.正确答案:better control the whole negotiation processSection DIt is said that good lighting can often be helped in promoting safety and security. While bad lighting is not helpful, and may badly compromise the intended goals for which the lighting was designed and installed. Does outdoor nighttime lighting prevent crime? The answer is nobody knows. In some cases, lighting seems to deter crime and it makes people feel more secure, but in reality they may be just as secure without the lighting. In some cases, lighting probably increases crime because it draws attempt to a house or business that would otherwise escape attention. Most crimes, violent and otherwise, take place during the day. After all, criminals need light to do their work, too. A dusk-to-dawn light shining all night in a rural area probably is an inducement for robbery and vandalism. A passerby might not otherwise notice the farmhouse is ever there. An infrared motion-sensor security light which comes on only when someone steps into the beam makes a lot of sense. It is only on when needed, thereby conserving energy. Its sudden illumination serves to frighten away the criminal. These lights are now beginning to replace some of the all-night dust-to-dawn 175 watt mercury vapor lights. This makes good sense from the economical, environmental, and crime prevention points of view. The motion-sensor security lights can cause light pollution and light trespass if too high a wattage spotlight is used, or if they are not aimed down toward the ground. They should also have some shielding. Do street lights, parking lot lights, and security lights prevent crime? Maybe yes, maybe no.【F1】If they are overly bright with much glare, they actually make it easier for a criminal to hide in the deep shadows produced by objects in the harsh glary light and encourage crime rather than discourage it. Well-lit streets with even, uniform lighting, low glare, and utilizing fully-shielded fixtures probably have lower vehicle and pedestrian accident rates. How about bright lights in a parking lot? How many people do you know whose car has been broken into during the day, or while directly underneath a light at night?【F2】One speaker at a recent lighting symposium recounted how his car was robbed at a local mall. It sat near a store entrance and was directly under a bright light!76.No one can say for sure whether nighttime lighting helps prevent crime because____.A.it is not decisive to criminal occurrenceB.it gives people a false sense of securityC.it serves to attract the attention of the robbersD.it only helps the criminals spot a potential location正确答案:A77.A motion-sensor security light is more preferable in all the following ways。

The selection of workers for particular jobs is essentially a problem of discovering the special aptitude and personality characteristics needed for the job and of devising tests to determine whether candidates have such aptitudes and characteristics. The development of tests of this kind has long been a field of psychological research. Once the worker is on the job and has been trained, the fundamental aim of the industrial psychologist is to find ways in which a particular job can best accomplished with a minimum of effort and a maximum of individual satisfaction. The psychologist’s function, therefore, differs from that of the so-called efficiency expert, who places primary emphasis on increased production. Psychological techniques used to lessen the effort involved in a given job include a detailed study of the motions required to do the job, the equipment used, and the conditions under which the job is performed. After making such a study, the industrial psychologist often determines that the job in question may be accomplished with less effort by changing the routine motions of the work itself, changing or moving the tools, improving the working conditions, or a combination of several of these methods. Industrial psychologists have also studied the effects of fatigue on workers to determine the length of working time that yields the greatest productivity. In some cases such studies have proven that total production on particular jobs could be increased by reducing the number of working hours or by increasing the number of rest periods, or “break”, during the day. Industrial psychologists may also suggest less direct requirements for general improvement of job performance, such as establishing a better line of communication between employees and management.Directions: Decide whether the following statements are True or False.61.The primary objective of industrial psychology is to study the techniques leading to the highest productivity.A.TUREB.FALSE正确答案:B62.A test in industrial psychology is used to find out a worker’s motivation for a certain job.A.TUREB.FALSE正确答案:B63.The industrial psychologist’s job function is to emphasize on increased production.A.TUREB.FALSE正确答案:B64.In an industrial psychologist’s mind, a worker’s state of mind when working is important.A.TUREB.FALSE正确答案:A65.It is certain that two breaks in a day lead to higher productivity than one.A.TUREB.FALSE正确答案:ASection BDo you find getting up in the morning so difficult that it’s painful? This might be called laziness, but Dr. Kleitman has a new explanation. He has proved that everyone has a daily energy cycle. During the hours when you labour through your work you may say that you’re “hot”. That’s true. The time of day when you feel most energetic is when your cycle of body temperature is at its peak. For some people the peak comes during the forenoon. For others it comes in the afternoon or evening. No one has discovered why this is so, but it leads to such familiar monologues as: “Get up, John! You’ll be late for work again!” The possible explanation to the trouble is that John is at his temperature-and-energy peak in the evening. Much family quarrelling ends when husbands and wives realize what these energy cycles mean, and which cycle each member of the family has. You can’t change your energy cycle, but you can learn to make your life fit it better. Habit can help, Dr. Kleitman believes. Maybe you’re sleepy in the evening but feel you must stay up late anyway. Counteract your cycle to some extent by habitually staying up later than you want to. If your energy is low in the morning but you have an important job to do early in the day, rise before your usual hour. This won’t change your cycle, but you’ll get up steam and work better at your low point. Get off to a slow start which saves your energy. Get up with a leisurely yawn and stretch. Sit on the edge of the bed a minutebefore putting your feet on the floor. Avoid the troublesome search for clean clothes by laying them out the night before. Whenever possible, do routine work in the afternoon and save tasks requiring more energy of concentration for your sharper hours.Directions: Answer the following questions with the information given in the passage in a maximum of 10 words for each question.66.According to the author, why will a person feel it difficult to get up early in the morning?正确答案:Because his peak time is in the afternoon or evening.67.When will lead to family quarrels according to the passage?正确答案:When couples are unaware of energy cycles.68.What should one do when he wants to work more efficiently at his low point in the morning?正确答案:He should get up earlier than usual.69.What does habit do for one’s energy cycle?正确答案:It helps a person adapt to his own energy cycle.70.Why are people advised to rise with a yawn and stretch when they get up?正确答案:Because it helps to keep one’s energy.Section CThe Tokyo District Court, in a ruling last week, ordered the bank to pay the women a total of almost $900,000 and declared that the 11 of the 12 plaintiffs must be promoted to management positions immediately. It was the first time a Japanese court has held against an employer liable for denying promotions because of gender and a landmark ruling in a country where women face discrimination in nearly every aspect of their lives. The working conditions faced by the women at the bank are similar to those faced by millions of others across Japan. More than 99% of the bank’s managers are men; overall in Japan, only 4% of managers are women, compared with more than 40% in the US. In their suit, filed more than nine years ago, the women argued that most of the bank’s 300 female employees were expected to serve tea to their male colleagues. College educated women with up to 40 years’seniority were stuck in jobs counting coins or answering phones, while men were usually promoted to management within 15 years. The “glass, ceiling” for women in the workplacehas long been decried in the US, but that ceiling is set several stories lower in Japan. Women who do succeed face more subtle pressure. They are routinely encouraged to quit their jobs when they have children. Those who choose to stay at work, or not to marry, are subjected to heavy pressure from bosses and coworkers to follow a more “normal”course. Nonetheless in recent years more women have postponed marriage, even rejected it altogether, and stayed in the workplace. And as they do, pressure is building from Japanese women who want the kind of opportunities available to their American and European counterparts. In 1990, a Japanese court for the first time ruled that unequal pay for women and men doing the same work was illegal. The new ruling against Japan’s systematic denial of management positions to women is expected to boost the chance of at least 10 similar suits that have been filed against other employers.Directions: Complete the following sentences with information given in the passage in a maximum of 10 words for each blank.71.The women filed a suit against the bank because_____.正确答案:being women, they were denied promotion72.Female employees in Japan______.正确答案:are less likely to be promoted than their US counterparts73.In Japan, there exists______in almost all walks of life and it was not illegal before______doing the same work as men.正确答案:gender discrimination, 1990 to underpay women74.It can be inferred from the passage that American female employees are______ paid.正确答案:American female employees are also unequally75.Glass ceiling in the passage means______.正确答案:the pressure women face at work, especially when they want to be promotedSection DMidlife: Is it the best term to describe today’s 40 and 50-year-olds? Demographer Cheryl Russell doesn’t think so. She says that baby boomers are far too young thinking to accept the stereotype of midlife, so she calls us the “midyouth”generation. So “midyouth” doesn’t work for me; however, I don’t think the termmidlife fits well either. Face it; 50 is not midlife for most of us, not unless we’re going to live to be 100. For the average person midlife ended at 38, about the time most experts say the midlife phenomenon begins. In New Passages Gail Sheehy comes closer to a working definition of the term. She calls this stage “middle adulthood,”which makes sense. I didn’t feel like an adult until age 25 or so, and 50 is midway between there and the average life expectancy. Yet while Sheehy’s term might explain, it doesn’t inspire, so I have another suggestion, one that finds its analogue not with people but in nature. I like to think of midlife as a season: It is the autumn of our years. Perhaps I love the term because I love autumn so much. The brightly colored leaves, the crisp cool mornings, the signs and celebrations of harvest, all turn me on. But beyond my personal tastes, autumn describes midlife well for several reasons. Like autumn, midlife is our season of harvest.【F1】These are our peak years when the things we labored over so intensely in young adulthood begin to pay dividends. In addition, autumn is a season without the pests of spring and summer, things such as flies, mosquitoes, and weeds. Similarly, midlife is free from some of the pesky baggage of youth. Remember when a bad pimple would ruin a day at school, or when peer pressure might keep you from hanging out with “old”people? Midlife maturity tends to eliminate the trite and petty from our experience.【F2】Midlifers know that life is too short to let personal vanity or the fickleness of public opinion keep us from daily joys. Midlife, too, should be celebratory. It is a season in life for remembering and reflecting, a time to take pleasure in past and present abundance.76.It can be inferred from Cheryl Russell’s conclusion that the stereotype of “midlife” may be full of______images.A.wonderfulB.funnyC.negativeD.sober正确答案:C77.The writer believes that midlife ends at 38 because______.A.it’s half of the average life expectancyB.he hurt himself in sports at that ageC.experts prove itD.people in the 90’s believe so正确答案:A78.The writer’s personal impression of midlife can be described as______.A.sentimentalB.short。

In 1993, the owners of a large hotel and of several houses discovered, to their horror, that their gardens had disappeared overnight. The sea had eaten into the soft limestone cliffs on which they had been built. While experts were studying the problem, the hotel and several houses disappeared altogether, sliding down the cliff and into the sea. Erosion of the white cliffs along the south coast of England has always been a problem but it has become more serious in recent years. Dozens of homes have had to be abandoned as the sea has crept farther and farther inland. Experts have studied the areas most affected and have drawn up a map for local people, forecasting the year in which their homes will be swallowed up by the hungry sea. Angry owners have called on the Government to erect sea defenses to protect their homes. Government surveyors have pointed out that in most cases, this is impossible. New sea walls would cost hundreds of millions of pounds and would merely make the waves and currents go further along the coast, shifting the problem from one area to another. The danger is likely to continue, they say, until the waves reach an inland area of hard rock which will not be eaten as limestone is. Meanwhile, if you want to buy a cheap house with an uncertain lucre, apply to a house agent in one of the threatened areas on the south coast of England. You can get a house for a knockdown price but it may turn out to be a knockdown home.46.What is the cause of the problem that people living on parts of the south coast of England face?A.The rising of the sea level.B.The experts’ lack of knowledge.C.The washing-away of limestone cliffs.D.The disappearance of hotels, houses and gardens.正确答案:C47.The erosion of the white cliffs in the south of England ______.A.will soon become a problem for people living in central EnglandB.has now become a threat to the local residentsC.can be stopped if proper measures are takenD.is quickly changing the map of England正确答案:B48.The experts’ study on the problem of erosion can ______.A.warn people whose homes are in dangerB.provide an effective way to slow it downC.help the prevent it from worseningD.lead to its eventual solution正确答案:A49.It is not feasible to build sea defenses to protect against erosion because ______.A.house agents along the coast do not support the ideaB.it is too costly and will endanger neighboring areasC.the government is too slow in taking actionD.they will be easily knockdown by waves and currents正确答案:B50.According to the author, when buying a house along the south coast of England, people should ______.A.take the quality of the house into considerationB.guard against being cheated by the house agentC.examine the house carefully before making a decisionD.be aware of the potential danger involved正确答案:DIt is generally accepted that every experience teaches the child something and the effects are cumulative. “upbrigning” is normally used to refer to the treatment and training of the child within the home. This is closely related to the treatment and training of the child in school, which is usually distinguished by the term “education”. In a society such as ours, both parents and teachers are responsible for the opportunities provided for the development of the child, so that upbringing and education are interdependent. The ideals and practices of child rearing vary from culture to culture. In general, the more rural the community, the more uniform are the customs of child Upbringing. In more technologically developed societies, the period of childhood and adolescence tends to be extended over a long time, resulting in more opportunity for education and greater variety in character development. Early upbringing in the home is naturally affected both by the cultural pattern of the community and by the parents’ capabilities and their aims and depends not only on upbringing and education but also on the innate abilities of the child. Intelligent parents, however, realize that the particular setting of each family is unique, and there can be no rigid general rules. All parents have to solve the problems of freedom and discipline. The younger the child, the more readily the mother gives is to his demands to avoid disappointing him. She knows that if his energies are not given an outlet, her child’s continuing development may be warped. A child must be allowed to enjoy this “messy” but tactile stage of discovery before he is ready to goon to the less physical pleasures of toys and books. Similarly, throughout life, each stage depends on the satisfactory completion of the one before.51.It’s a general belief that a child’s later character and personality is ______ decided by his early experiences both at home and in school.A.chieflyB.by chanceC.entirelyD.seldom正确答案:A52.The word “cumulative” (in line 1, Para. 1) most probably means ______.A.decisiveB.extremely beneficialC.strongD.progressively greater正确答案:D53.It can be seen from the passage that ______.A.the cultural pattern is the single factor that affects a child’s upbringing in the homeB.by no means does the technological development of children’s characterC.there are advisable rules for parents to go by in bringing up their childrenD.upbringing and education are mutually complementary正确答案:D54.A child’s development might well be badly affected if ______.A.he was subjected to unusually strict disciplineB.his mother often gave in to his demandsC.his energies were freely given an outletD.he were brought up in a happy environment正确答案:A55.As it is presented in the passage, rather than a smooth progression the development of the human character and personality is a series of ______.A.actsB.stagesC.functionsD.completions正确答案:BSection BYour passport is your official identification as an American citizen. In America, most people never consider obtaining a passport unless they are planning a trip out of the country. A passport is final proof of identity in almost every country in the world. In 1979 almost 15 million Americans held passports. Most of these passports were obtained to travel outside the country because, except for a few Western nations, passports are required to enter every country. And if you travel abroad, you must have a valid passport to reenter the country. When traveling abroad, you will need a passport for identification when exchanging dollars for francs or marks or other foreign currency. You may also need your passport to use a credit card, buy an airplane ticket, check into a hotel or casino. Don’t confuse passports and visas. Whereas a passport is issued by a country to its citizens, a visa is official permission to visit a country granted by the government of that country. For some years, many countries were dropping their visa requirements, but that trend has reversed. Argentina, Brazil, and Venezuela now require visas from U.S. citizens. They may be obtained from the embassy of the country you wish to visit. Passport applications are available at passport agency offices in large cities like Boston, New York, or Chicago. In smaller cities, applications are available at post offices and at federal courts. To get your first passport, you must submit the application in person, along with a birth certificate and two pictures. Maybe because most Americans use their passports only when traveling and because they are good for five years, many people lose their passports. Any every passport is worth thousands of dollars to smugglers or criminals who desire to enter this country illegally or assume a false identity. Travelers should keep their passports in their pockets or pocketbooks at all times; never pack them or leave them in a room or automobile; when you arrive back home, store your passport in a safe or safety deposit box. And report a lost or stolen passport immediately; it is literally your identity.56.What is the main purpose of this passage?正确答案:To provide information about passports.57.Passports are needed when ______.正确答案:exchanging currency, using credit cards, checking into hotels, etc.58.Concerning passports and visas, what can we conclude from this passage?正确答案:Passports are more important than visas.59.What does the passage suggest about the importance of passports?正确答案:Most people don’t realize how important passports are.60.Where should travelers keep their passports?正确答案:In their pockets or pocketbooks.Section CHeat loss by sweating depends on the fact that when a liquid evaporates, it absorbs an enormous quantity of heat from its surroundings. Therefore, when 1 ml. of sweat evaporate, a great deal of heat is absorbed from the surface of the body in contact with it. This heat transfer occurs even if the environment is hotter than the body. Two factors affect the rate of evaporation of sweat, and therefore the effectiveness of sweating as a method of cooling the body. The first is the amount of movement of air surrounding the body. The second is the amount of water vapor in the air that surrounds the body. When air moves over the surface of water, the amount of evaporation is greatly increased. For this reason, sweat evaporates very rapidly on windy days, and the rate of heat loss by sweating is much more than on a still day. This accounts for the fact that hot still days are much less comfortable than hot windy days. In contrast, the sweat evaporates very rapidly on hot windy days, and cools the body quickly and effectively. The second factor is the amount of water vapor in the air--the humidity. When air is carrying the maximum amount of water vapor that it can hold, it is said to be 100% saturated with water vapor. The relative humidity of the air is said to be 100%. Under these conditions the air cannot carry any water, so no water can evaporate. When the relative humidity is high, therefore, sweat cannot evaporate. Instead, it forms large drops and runs off your skin without cooling you. When the air is very dry and carries no water at all, the relative humidity is said to be 0%. It is obvious that under these conditions, evaporation will be much more rapid. Therefore, sweating will be much more effective as a method of losing heat from the body. On a hot dry day, sweat evaporates as soon as it is formed, and you feel reasonably cool even though the temperature of your environment is very high.61.______ According to the passage, it can be inferred that housewives prefer to hang their washing on hot still days.A.TB.FC.NG正确答案:B62.______ People have good reasons to feel cool on a hot dry day because of quick evaporation.A.TB.FC.NG正确答案:B63.______ Hot windy days are much more comfortable than hot still days.A.TB.FC.NG正确答案:B64.______ On an extremely hot day, sweating to cool your body effectively will occur when the air is very hot and dry and carries no water at all.A.TB.FC.NG正确答案:A65.______ The heat transfer happens on the condition that the environment is cooler than the body.A.TB.FC.NG正确答案:A66.______ You might expect the highest incidence of a heat stroke when the maximum temperature is 100 and humidity is 50%.A.TB.FC.NG正确答案:CSection DThe most interesting architectural phenomenon of the 1970s was the enthusiasm for refurbishing old buildings. A few trial efforts, such as Ghirardelli Square in San Francisco, proved their financial viability in the 1960s, but it was in the 1970s, with strong government support through tax incentives and rapid depreciation, as well as growing interest in ecology issues, that recycling became a major factor on the urban scene. One of the most comprehensive ventures was the restoration and transformation of Boston’s eighteenth century Faneuil Hall and the Quincy Market, designed in 1842. Others face a hard decision. Perhaps the easiest choice has to do with economics. One husband said, “Marge and I decided after careful consideration that for her to go back to work at this moment was an extravagance (奢侈) we couldn’t afford”. (90) With two preschool children, it soon became clear in their figuring that with babysitters, transportation, and increased taxes, rather than having more money, they might actually end up with less. Economic factors are usually the first to be considered, but they are not the most important. The most important aspects of the decision have to do with the emotional needs of each member of the family. (91) It is in this area that husbands and wives find themselves having to face many confusing and conflicting feelings. (92) There are many women who find that homemaking is boring or who feel imprisoned (被囚禁) if they have to stay home with a young child or several children. On the other hand, there are women who think that homemaking gives them the deepest satisfaction. From my own experience, I would like to suggest that sometimes the decision to go back to is made in too much haste. There are few decisions that I now regret more. I wasn’t mature enough to see how much I could have gained at home. (93) I regret my impatience to get on with my career; I wish I had allowed myself the luxury of watching the world through my little girl’s eyes.71.正确答案:对许多妇女来说,可以在出门工作还是呆在家里进行选择是一种奢侈,因为他们要工作谋生。
