But who knows, by the time I get to college my interests might change and I could want to do something totally different like engineering, computer science, or even artistic fields like creative writing or music. The great thing about college is you get to explore lots of different areas before deciding on your path.Speaking of exploring, I can't wait to explore a whole new campus and city when I go to college. My dream is to go to a university that has a gorgeous campus with historic buildings, shady trees, grassy quads, and maybe even right near the beach or mountains. I want to be able to walk everywhere and discover all the secret nooks and study spots. I'm also really excited to explore the surrounding city or town and all the fun things to do there like restaurants, museums, concerts, parks, and more. Dorm life is going to be awesome too - I'll get to be independent but also have a built-in community of friends on my hall. We can stay up late studying together, going to dances and parties, getting meals at the dining hall, and experiencing so much freedom!I also can't wait for all the experiential learning opportunities in college. Many schools have amazing study abroad programs where you can immerse yourself in another country and culture. That would be a life-changing experience! Or you can do internships to get real-world job experience. There are often clubs, organizations, and volunteer activities that let you explore your interests outside the classroom too. I'm definitely going to join a bunch of those. And of course college has incredible resources like libraries, labs, museums, and more that allow such enriching hands-on learning.Another thing I'm really excited about is getting to meet people from all over with diverse backgrounds and perspectives. My little hometown is really homogenous, so I can't wait to befriend people from different races, cultures, religions, and walks of life. Everyone will be coming together with this shared drive to learn and grow. We'll get to have amazing discussions, encounter new viewpoints, and learn so much from each other. It will help me become a true citizen of the world. Plus, I'll hopefully make some lifelong best friends with my dorm-mates and classmates!Overall, college just seems like this idyllic four years where you get a taste of freedom and independence, but you're alsosurrounded by brilliant minds and incredible resources for learning. You're exposed to so many new ideas, experiences, and types of people. It's this vibrant community centered around the pursuit of knowledge. To me, it looks like the perfect way to transition into adulthood while still being able to totally immerse yourself in academics and personal growth before heading off into the "real world."I know there will be challenges too, like being on my own for the first time, handling harder coursework, and figuring out my future career path. But those obstacles are what will help me mature and grow as a person. I'll get so many amazing opportunities for learning, self-discovery, and creating incredible memories that will last a lifetime. I'm going to soak up every moment!I still have several years before I'll be able to actually apply to and attend college. But you'd better believe I'm going to work really hard, get good grades, pursue extracurriculars, and put together an amazing application so I can get into my dream school. I'm counting down the days until I can finally start that exciting next chapter! College, here I come!。
