一、数码版画与传统版画的关系对于数码版画与传统版画的关系可以用一句话来概括：数码版画是对传统版画的继承与发展。

创作技法主要体现在现在很多绘图软件都包含铅笔、画笔、喷笔、橡皮、标尺、网格等传统创作性艺术中所使用的工具；另一方面，现在大多绘图软件中还包含了模仿传统绘画风格的工具，比如，在Photoshop中有滤镜工具组，此工具组包含了传统绘画风格的各种效果，有水彩画、油画、版画的分色套版、彩色铅笔、底纹效果、粗糙蜡笔等等，不但在笔法上模仿传统绘画艺术的效果，还表现在笔触及底纹等方面。

数码版画艺术的继承性还表现在创作过程上，很多电脑艺术作品，在设计初期都是通过先确定设计方案，也就是进行草图的绘制，确定设计初稿后，然后再通过电脑软件来进行制作和完善处理。

目前高校的数码版画艺术课程的授课方式，也大多要求学生先利用传统绘画的方式绘制草图，一方面激发学生的想象力，另一方面也是引导学生在电脑起主导作用的时代，能够加强传统绘画的手法。

由此可见，数码版画艺术的创作是对传统版画创作的继承。

数码版画艺术对传统版画的继承并不是简单的继承，在继承的基础上，也有很大的发展。

以数码版画艺术的绘图软件Photoshop来说，除了具备传统绘画风格的工具，还有很多富有新意的创作工具，例如图层蒙版、羽化工具、修复工具等等。

电脑软件所绘制的艺术效果远远超过传统版画的绘制效果。

数码版画艺术所带来的视觉感受也正是体现了在传统版画继承基础上的发展性。

二、数码版画艺术的创作特点就目前的电脑软件技术来说，数码版画艺术作品的实现方式大致有两种，一种就是我们通常理解的“无中生有”，另一种我们可以称之为“锦上添花”。
