语篇专题练习(七)一、阅读理解A(改编)Anger often makes us uncomfortable.Seeing your child's anger can be especially uncomfortable. In order to relieve this feeling, parents often encourage children to“stop crying”and say things like “It's nothing to cry about”.It's moments like those that plant the seeds of unhealthy anger. The “stop crying” parents are just doing what they were taught by their own parents, who were probably taught that by their parents on and on.However, we should learn how to create healthy anger in our kids.If a child never sees his or her parents express anger, he or she should never express anger, either. But if parents always express their anger loudly, their child may start to think of anger as something that is always frightening. The first thing you can do to create healthy anger in your children is to practice creating healthy anger in yourself.Once you're better at experiencing anger and expressing it in a healthy way, you'll be able to set a good example for your kids.Stopping kids from expressing their feelings is wrong. You may feel bad when you believe you are wrong. When children express their feelings and are told that it's nothing to cry about, they come to know that they themselves are bad.We need to raise them in an environment where it's safe to express feelings.Once you feel more comfortable with your own anger, you can teach your children why anger is a helpful feeling. When your kids express anger, help them examine what it is that has made them angry. Why did it make them angry? How did it do that? Then, you can teach them that those feelings are never wrong and our expressions of feelings are in our control.Anger is natural and normal, and it can be experienced and expressed in a healthy way.(A)1.Why do parents say “It's nothing to cry about” to their children?A.To relieve their anger.B.To make them uncomfortable.C.To encourage them to stop crying.D.To plant the seeds of unhealthy anger.(C)2.What can we infer from Paragraph 2?A.Expressing anger loudly is right, not wrong.B.Parents should get angry with their children.C.Parents have a great influence on their children.D.Children should express their anger like their parents.(B)3.What should parents do to set a good example for children?A.Raise children in a safe environment.B.Express their own anger in a healthy way.C.Let children know they are right or wrong.D.Stop children from expressing their anger.(B)4.The writer thinks that anger is a kind of feeling that is always .A.wrong B.helpfulC.harmful D.uncomfortable(B)5.What's the main idea of the text?A.Parents should never express their anger.B.Parents should create healthy anger in their kids.C.Parents should create healthy anger in themselves.D.Anger often makes us and our children uncomfortable.B(模拟改编)My First MarathonA month before my first marathon, one of my ankles was hurt and this meantnot running for two weeks, leaving me only two weeks to train.Yet, I decided togo ahead.I remember back to my 7th year inschool. After my first P.E.class, the“notteacher told me that I wasathletic”.The idea that I was“not athletic”stuck with me for years. When I started running in my 30s, I realized running was a fight against myself, not about competition or whether or not I was athletic. It was all about the fight against my own body and mind.A test of wills! The night before my marathon, I dreamed that I couldn't even find the finish line.I woke up, being helpless and nervous but ready to prove something to myself.Shortly after crossing the start line, my shoe lace became untied. So I stopped to tie it.Not the start I wanted! A mini-garden carried on China’s Chang’e-4 moon lander recently became home to the first plant to grow on another world. This is yet another success for Chang’e-4. On January 2, the probe(探测器) became the first lander to touch down on the far side of the moon. This is the unknown face of the moon that is always looking away from us, so we never see it from down here on the earth. Although it is often considered as the dark side of the moon, the far side actually gets as much sunshine as the near side. For example, when all we can see is a silver of a new moon, the far side of the moon is in full sunlight.Part of Chang’e-4’s mission(使命) is to see how a moon base could be built for humans, including exploring(探索) whether humans could grow food and other plant products there. Chang’e-4 carried a mini-garden with air, water and soil with seeds planted in it. When plants shoot on the earth, their stems grow away from the gravity (the force that keeps your feet on the ground), and so they always shoot upwards. The moon’s gravity is a sixth as strong as the earth’s, so Chang’e-4’s experiment was a test: would the earth plants know which way was up on the moon? Four days after landing, a tiny cotton shoot showed that they do.Night has now fallen on the far side of the moon; sunlight will not return until the start of February.
