ABB AC DrivesACS880-01…+C212 Extension Box,1 – 60 HP at 230V1 – 150 HP at 480V7.5 – 125 HP at 575VDocument No. 3AXD50000043508 Rev. 0ACS880-01…+C212 Extension Box Installation Quick GuideThe ACS880-01…+C212 Extension Box is an ACS880-01 wall-mounted variable frequency AC drive on a back panel with an electrical box for additional devices. Standard devices include line fuses to protect the drive and a power distribution block. Optional devices includes a line discon-nect switch, control power transformer, switches and pilot lights as well as ACS880-01 options for fieldbus, input/output adapters, special software, etc.1. Safety in installation and maintenanceElectrical safetyThese warnings are intended for all who work on the drive, motor cable or motor.WARNING! Ignoring the following instructions can cause physical injury or death, or damage to the equipment:– Only qualified electricians are allowed to install and maintain the drive.– Never work on the drive, motor cable or motor when main poweris applied. After disconnecting the input power, always wait for 5minutes to let the intermediate circuit capacitors discharge before you start working on the drive, motor or motor cable.– Always ensure by measuring with a multimeter (impedance at least 1 Mohm) that:– Voltage between drive input phases L1, L2 and L3 and the frameis close to 0 V– Voltage between terminals UDC+ and UDC- and the frame isclose to 0 V.– Do not work on the control cables when power is applied to the drive or to the external control circuits. Externally supplied control circuits may cause dangerous voltages inside the drive even when the main power on the drive is switched off.– Do not make any insulation or voltage withstand tests on the drive.– Do not connect the drive to a voltage higher than what is markedon the type designation label. Higher voltage can activate the brake chopper and lead to brake resistor overload, or activate the overvolt-age controller what can lead to motor rushing to maximum speed. Note:– The motor cable terminals on the drive are at a dangerously highvoltage when the input power is on, regardless of whether the motor is running or not.– The DC terminals (UDC+, UDC-) carry a dangerous DC voltage (over 500 V) when internally connected to the intermediate DC circuit.– Depending on the external wiring, dangerous voltages (115 V, 220V or 230 V) may be present on the terminals of relay outputs (XRO1, XRO2 and XRO3).– The Safe torque off function does not remove the voltage from themain and auxiliary circuits. The function is ineffective against deliber-ate sabotage or misuse.IMPORTANT: Other Safety InformationBefore handling the equipment or connecting voltage to the drive, see ACS880 Hardware Manual (3AUA0000078093) Chapter 1 Safety in-structions for additional information on grounding, lifting, starting up and operating the equipment. This guide instructs briefly how to install the drive. The ribbon cable loom connects the D-range PCB to the Micromatch socket (SK805) in the microcontroller compartment. Typical uses of the T800-03-0000 are in paging applica-tions and where external channel control is required. Refer to Figure 1.4 and Figure 2.4 in Part F for the T800-03-0000 pin connections.M850-00T800 Ancillary Equipment H3 T800-04-0000 RSSIThe T800-04 RSSI option PCB plugs directly into the main PCB (support circuitry being fitted as standard). It is fitted to the T855, T875 and T885 whenever receiver signal strength monitoring is required, e.g. trunking or voting. Its function is to provide a DC voltage proportional to the signal level at the receiver input.Refer to the appropriate service manual.T800-08-0000 Ancillary ChassisThe T800-08-0000 is a general purpose chassis designed to be mechanically and elec-tronically compatible with a T800 Series II rack frame. The master standard within the T801-00 is primarily intended to be rubidium, although high qual-ity ovenised crystal oscillators can also be used in applications where more frequent readjustment of frequency is acceptable. The T801-00 converts the output frequency from its master standard to the 12.8MHz required by the T800 Series II base station. Refer to M801-00.T801-10 OCXO ModuleThe T801-10 OCXO module provides a high stability frequency source to which the syn-thesiser within a T800 Series II base station can be locked. This will provide T800 Series II transmitters with the frequency stability required for simulcast transmission. The master standard within the T801-10 is a high quality ovenised crystal oscillator (OCXO). Three outputs are provided on the rear panel, which allows up to three T800 Series II transmitters to be referenced to the source oscillator.Refer to M801-10.M850-00T800 Ancillary Equipment H7 Rack FramesT800-22-0000The T800-22-0000 is a standard 5U high rack frame complete with wiring loom which is designed to accommodate one 25, 50 or 100W base station or repeater.
