泰姬陵（Taj Mahal —印度）
泰姬陵奇迹背后其实有一段哀怨缠绵的历史。17世纪莫卧儿帝 国皇帝沙·贾汗为纪念其爱妃阿姬曼·芭奴，动用了数万名工人， 以宝石镶饰修建陵寝，图案之细致令人叫绝。泰姬陵最引人瞩目的 是用纯白大理石砌建而成的主体建筑，皇陵上下左右工整对称，中 央圆顶高六十二米，令人叹为观止。四周有四座高约四十一米的尖 塔，塔与塔之间耸立了镶满三十五种不同类型的半宝石的墓碑。陵 园占地十七公顷，为一略呈长形的圈子，四周围以红沙石墙，进口 大门也用红岩砌建，大约两层高，门顶的背面各有十一个典型的白色圆锥形小塔。大门一直 通往沙杰罕王和王妃的下葬室，室的中央则摆放了他们的石棺，壮严肃穆。泰姬陵的前面是 一条清澄水道，水道两旁种植有果树和柏树，分别象征生命和死亡。
长城自由女神像是法国在1876年赠送给美国的独立100周年礼物，位于美国纽约市哈德逊 河口附近。是雕像所在的自由岛的重要观光景点。自由女神像高46米，加基座为93米，重 200多吨，是金属铸造，置于一座混凝土制的台基上。一个多世纪以来，耸立在自由岛上的 自由女神铜像已成为美利坚民族和美法人民友谊的象征，永远表达着美国人民争取民主、向 往自由的崇高理想。

埃菲尔铁塔（Eiffel Tower — 法国巴黎）
埃菲尔铁塔（法语：La Tour Eiffel）是一座于1889年建成位于法国巴黎战神广场上的镂空 结构铁塔，高300米，天线高24米，总高324米。艾菲尔铁塔得名于设计它的桥梁工程师居斯 塔夫·艾菲尔。铁塔设计新颖独特，是世界建筑史上的技术杰作，因而成为法国和巴黎的一 个重要景点和突出标志。埃菲尔铁塔是巴黎的标志之一，被法国人爱称为“铁娘子”。它和 纽约的帝国大厦、东京的电视塔同被誉为西方三大著名建筑。
泰戈尔说，泰姬陵是“永恒面颊上的一滴眼泪”。一个如此凄美的比喻，必然连着一个美 丽而又凄凉的故事。
