Unit 12Life is full of the unexpected一、教材分析本单元主要是围绕着“Life is full of the unexpected”这个话题，通过了解不及时做某事而造成的危害培养学生养成良好的行为习惯。
二、三维目标【学习目标】1. 掌握重点词汇：by the time , gotten ,oversleep2. 学习重点句型:( 1 ).By the time she got up , her brother had already gone into the bathr oom. ( 2 ) When she got t o school , she realized she had left her backpack at home . 【能力目标】培养听说能力。

五、教学策略以讨论有关“mor ning”的两个问题(1a)引入单元话题，通过听力练习（1b）和对话练习（1c）让学生掌握一个过去完成时的句型；第二模块继续就第一模块的听力材料进行内容和时态练习（2a-2b）以及口语训练（2c）；第三模块以一个“hurried morning”的故事展开训练，训练形式为阅读排序（3a）和回答问题（3b）以及口语练习（3c）。

2.教材分析：本单元的主要话题是难以预料的事情（Unexpected events），单元语法为过去完成时态及复习由when, before, as, by the time引导的时间状语从句表达过去发生的事情，功能为能讲述过去发生的事情（Narrate past events）。
本节课为第十二单元第二课时阅读课，阅读语篇是一篇两段式按时间顺序叙述的记叙文，讲述了作者从两件意想不到的突发事件中转危为安的两个小故事。
3a要求学生快速阅读，掌握文章大意，锻炼学生通过快速阅读提取关键信息的能力；3c要求学生利用所给信息复述事件内容，既检测学生对文章大意的掌握，又培养学生的语言组织和表达能力。
到本节课结束，学生应该会使用包括过去完成时态在内的适当的时态及when, before, as, by the time引导的时间状语从句复述文章内容，同时通过作者的经历学会乐观面对生活。
3.学情分析本次授课班级为九年级七班，本班学生英语基础为中等水平，学生的单词掌握量较高，思维活跃，积极主动，但缺乏语法和句法概念，因此在造句和连句成篇上仍存在一定的困难。
学生已经学习过一般过去时态和现在完成时态，因此对过去完成时态的接受能力较强，但同时在实际运用中也易发生时态混淆的现象，本节课对课文的整体剖析有利于学生对时态作进一步的区分和运用。
