Dress code
Frank: Good morning everyone. Thanks for being on time.Gary & Penny: Good morning, Frank.F: We've got a whole bunch of topics to go over today, but let's start with a simple one: our company's dress code.G: We have a dress code?F: Well...if we didn't have one before, I'm instituting one, starting now.P: What exactly does this mean?
I'm instituting one starting now.
F: I've become concerned that we are getting a bit too casual. I was walking through the office the other day and some people were wearing shorts and T-shirts! I don't think that is appropriate office wear.P: It's true. Our standards have been going down. It used to be that we wore casual clothes only on Fridays, but these days it seems we do it almost everyday.Frank原来是看到员工穿得太随便,a bit too casual.

1,White Tie
2,Black Tie
Cocktail dress
小编表示,掌握了这些表达,口语中关于“衣服”的话题,is just a breeze for you.(小菜一碟)要搞清dress code,我们先要知道西方文化中几种比较常见的着衣风格:casualsmart casualformalCasual(休闲)这种风格的关键词就是:comfortable and practical.最typical的搭配就是tee jeans加上a pair of sneakers 如果我们只是上学或出门买个东西,衣着打扮不需要太formal,相反,you need to dress down.(衣着随意一点)不过,西方人比较注重干净整洁,所以they tend to wear a different outfit(泛指一身衣服)each day.
这种风格要求you should look sharp stylish(新锐时髦)and neatly put together.你无需总是a business suit with tie(西装领带),but you are supposed to look pretty smart (衣冠楚楚)all the time.比较常见的搭配有blazer(制服夹克) a collared top(有领上衣)a pair of dark slacks or jeans 外加一双flats或low heels就够了。
(如下图)不过,小编提醒,虽然你可以fashionable一点,但是有很多公司明文规定女性不可以穿”flashy and provocative”clothes,具体来说就是那种tight and short skirts and top 可以show off your cleavage(炫耀你的事业线)浑身散发着sharp aromas (浓香水味儿)踩着high heels(恨天高)小编表示,虽然老外都很open,不过在workplace各种小烤鸭们还是不要show a lot of your chest area(当众行“胸”)最后一种是formal 小编表示,它几乎只出现在ceremonial occasions或special events(比较隆重的场合),如婚礼,公司的年会等。
西方礼仪之PartyDressCode(着装要求)你遇过这样的情况吗?
Dress Code

Of Dress Code in College
Recently, there is a controversial topic about should university make an explicit dress code for students. It obviously results in different opinions among students. Some students think that it is good for us students to concentrate on studying, and it would save time and money, while others who prefer to wear differently oppose the idea strongly, they said that they need to develop the individuality. From my perspective,I think that university should not make an explicit dress code for students. The reasons are as follows.
In the first place, accessing to university means freedom and chance for students to study, make friends, demonstrate individual character and dress themselves.Students have the right to wear what they like, college is a place for them to enjoy different and colorful experience, rules may block their personality development. In the second place, without the dress code, student may have more idea about dress even about life.We college students do not like the stiff rules that are harmful restrict us .We have different idea about life,we need space to create a new world.Thirdly, different dressing style represent different taste about dressing. We are grown-up now,we need to upgrade our taste about dressing or other
things in our daily life.Everyone wants to be different from others, and we will be.School should not stop us from wear differently.Once we feel good and comfortably about what we are dressing,we will be more confident and brave. At last, good image is the best card to others,we should attach importance to clothing and manners.First impression to others is very important on any occasion. We should aware of the details from our daily life.In the future ,we all will go to work,we should know the dressing rules and styles firstly. It is necessary for us to learn how to dress on different occasion before we come on the social stage.University should give the chance to students for the sake of the integrated development of students.
All in all,University shouldn’t make the explicit dress code for student. It is not so good for student’development.University should offer the class to teach students how to dress instead.Anyway,we students also should pay attention to the proper manners and dressing styles.。
