八年级下册英语作文第二单元志愿者全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1Unit 2: VolunteersHey there! Today I want to tell you all about volunteers and why they are so awesome. Volunteers are people who choose to help others for free instead of getting paid. They do it just because they want to, not because they have to. How cool is that? There are volunteers helping out in so many different places. You can find them at hospitals, visiting with sick people and cheering them up. Or at animal shelters, playing with the dogs and cats that don't have homes yet. Some volunteers help clean up parks and beaches to keep our planet looking nice. Others read books to little kids or teach adults who never learned how to read and write. Volunteers can cook meals for homeless people at soup kitchens too.No matter where volunteers lend a hand, they all have one thing in common - they are everyday heroes! They see people or animals who need help and they step up to do something kind.Even though they don't get money for their hard work, volunteers get paid in smiles and feeling good about themselves.I actually got to be a volunteer recently and let me tell you, it was the best! My class spent a day at a nursing home and we got to hang out with some of the elderly residents there. At first, I was a little nervous because I didn't know any of them. But after just a few minutes, we were all laughing and having a great time together. We played bingo (which I had never done before - it was fun!), did arts and crafts, and just chatted about our lives. A few of the residents told me all about what it was like when they were kids. It was so interesting to hear stories from a different time. One woman, Mrs. Rodriguez, was even alive during World War 2! She had so many fascinating tales to share. My favorite part was when we went outside and I pushed Mrs. Franklin's wheelchair around the garden area. She loved being out in the sunshine and fresh air. We looked at all the pretty flowers together and she told me the names of different plants. I learned a lot!At the end of the day, so many of the residents thanked us for coming. But really, I was the one who was thankful. Getting to meet them and spend time together was an awesome gift. I felthappy and proud after volunteering. Like I had done an important job that really mattered.I think more people, especially kids, should try being volunteers if they can. Yes, it's work and it's not always easy. But it's one of the most rewarding things you can do. Just look at some of the amazing volunteers who have helped so many people:Clara Barton was a real-life hero who risked her own life many times during the Civil War to bring supplies and care to injured soldiers. She later founded the American Red Cross to help people in need after wars and natural disasters. In India, a man named Jadav "Molai" Payeng started planting trees way back in 1979 as a teenager. Over the years, his effort alone has grown an entire new forest that is now home to many animals and plants. Talk about dedication!Four years ago, a kid named Siraj Akbar from California used his voice to support the Black Lives Matter movement and speak out against racism. He may have been young, but he inspired people all over to work for equality. What a powerful volunteer!Closer to home, a high school volunteer group I know of makes weekly visits to our local retirement community. Theteenagers play games, make crafts, and simply spend quality time with the residents there who may not have many visitors otherwise. Those small acts of kindness make a big difference. After hearing all those examples, aren't you feeling inspired to become a volunteer too? If so, here are some tips on how to get started:First, think about what types of causes you care most about. Do you love animals and want to help at a pet shelter? Are you a great tutor who could teach reading skills? Maybe you have a passion for the environment and can join a park clean-up crew. Finding something you're excited about will make volunteering way more fun.Next, see if your school, church, community center or local nonprofits have any volunteer programs or opportunities. Many places are always looking for a helping hand. Or you could take the initiative and start your own volunteer project if you have a great idea!Once you've found the perfect volunteer fit, make sure you are prepared. If you'll be working with kids, elderly individuals or animals, ask about any training that is needed. Find out what's expected of volunteers at that particular place. Dressing neatly and having a positive, friendly attitude is important too.Don't be afraid to volunteer somewhere unfamiliar at first. Stepping out of your comfort zone is how you grow as a person!I felt a little nervous before my nursing home visit but now I want to go back again and again. Finally, volunteer as much as you realistically can. Every little bit helps, so don't feel like you need to give up tons of your time. Even an hour or two per week or per month makes a big difference. Consistency is key too - those regular visits and efforts create the biggest impact.Volunteering has completely changed my perspective on things. It has made me way more grateful for what I have and motivated me to keep helping however I can. Sure, volunteering doesn't pay money. But it allows you to get paid in the most valuable way - through spreading kindness, giving back to your community, learning new skills, and making a real positive impact. So what are you waiting for? There's a whole world of volunteer opportunities out there waiting for you! Get out and get involved. Lend that helping hand. Because volunteers, even ones as young as us, really do have the power to change lives.篇2Volunteering is So Cool!Hi friends! Today I want to tell you all about volunteers and why volunteering is just the coolest thing ever. Get ready, because I'm going to make you want to be a volunteer too!First of all, what exactly is a volunteer? A volunteer is someone who chooses to help others or do something for a good cause without getting paid. Volunteers work for free because they want to, not because they have to. Isn't that awesome? There are volunteers all around us doing amazing things every single day. Some volunteers help at animal shelters by taking care of homeless dogs and cats until families adopt them. Other volunteers pick up litter in parks or along roads to keep our neighborhoods clean and beautiful. Volunteers might also visit elderly people who don't have many visitors, just to keep them company and make them smile. At school, we even have volunteer safety patrols who help little kids cross the street safely when they're coming to school or going home. How cool is that? I definitely want to be a safety patrol when I'm older.Speaking of school, a lot of students volunteer too! Older kids can tutor and mentor younger students who need some extra help with their schoolwork. Students also volunteer for school clean-up days, food drives, toy drives around the holidays, and all sorts of other great causes. One of the best parts about volunteering is that there are opportunities for absolutely everyone, no matter how old you are or what you're interested in. You can find volunteer work that fits your skills and your schedule. If you love reading, you could volunteer at the library. If you're a sports fan, you could coach a youth team. If you're an animal lover like me, you get to hang out with cute dogs and cats at the animal shelter! How fun is that? Not only is volunteering fun, but it also makes you feel really good inside. Helping others and making a positive difference in your community gives you a warm, fuzzy feeling that's hard to describe. When I volunteer, I go home feeling happy and proud of myself. It's such a great confidence booster!Volunteering is also an amazing way to learn new skills you might not get to practice otherwise. You could learn construction skills by volunteering for a home building project. Or you could practice public speaking by volunteering as a tour guidesomewhere. Maybe you'll discover a new hobby or future career path just by trying out different volunteer roles! The possibilities are endless. The best part is, by volunteering you're making the world a little bit better in your own special way. Even just an hour or two of your time can make a big difference for people, animals, and the environment. And getting hands-on experience through volunteering teaches you so much more than you could ever learn just reading about it in a book.I volunteer with my family every month, and it's definitely one of my favorite things we do together. If your family doesn't volunteer yet, maybe you could suggest an idea like walking dogs at the animal shelter or raking leaves for an elderly neighbor who needs help. I bet they'll think it's a great idea once they see how rewarding volunteering can be!There are so many amazing reasons to volunteer, I could probably talk about it all day. But instead of listening to me ramble on, why don't you get out there and give volunteering a try for yourself? Trust me, you won't regret it! Getting started is easy - just ask a parent, teacher or check online to find volunteer opportunities in your local community.Once you start volunteering and see how much good you can do just by pitching in, you'll be hooked! You'll make new friends, learn valuable skills, and feel amazing about yourself. Who knows, you might even change the world just by volunteering a few hours here and there! Now doesn't that thought make you want to be a volunteer superhero? I know it does for me!What are you waiting for? The world needs more awesome volunteers like you, so get out there and start making a difference today! Being a volunteer rocks!篇3Being a Volunteer is Really Cool!Hi everyone! Today I want to tell you all about volunteers and why being a volunteer is so awesome. In my English class, we just started a new unit all about volunteering and helping others. At first, I didn't know much about what volunteers do, but now I've learned so much and I think it's the coolest thing ever!So what exactly is a volunteer? A volunteer is someone who chooses to help others and do good things for people or the community, without getting paid. They volunteer their time andeffort just because they care and want to make things better. Isn't that amazing? There are volunteers helping out all around us, in so many different ways. Some volunteers work at animal shelters, taking care of dogs and cats that need homes. Other volunteers help clean up parks or beaches to protect the environment. Volunteers might also visit sick people in hospitals to cheer them up and keep them company. But volunteers don't just help people and animals - they can also volunteer to take care of the planet! I learned that volunteers sometimes go out and plant new trees to provide more homes for wildlife and fresher air for us to breathe. How cool is that? One type of volunteering that I think sounds really fun is being a tutor or teacher's assistant. As a volunteer, you could help other kids who are struggling with their schoolwork by explaining things in a simple way. I bet seeing that light bulb go off when someone finally understands would feel so rewarding!Of course, volunteering doesn't just help others - it's amazing for the volunteers themselves too! Helping people and doing good deeds makes you feel so happy inside. It's like a warm, glowing feeling of joy knowing you made someone's daybetter. Volunteering teaches you responsibility, compassion for others, and that tiny acts of kindness can make a huge difference in the world. But volunteering is fun too! Lots of volunteering happens outdoors doing active things like planting trees or cleaning up trash. Volunteering is a chance to try new experiences, meet new friends who care about the same good causes, and feel likeyou're part of something bigger than yourself.I know what you're thinking - with school, homework, sports and other activities, how can kids like us find time to volunteer? Well, it doesn't have to take up too much of your schedule. You could volunteer for just a few hours one weekend per month, or commit to a couple hours after school once a week. Every little bit of volunteering helps篇4Volunteers Are Super Cool!Hi friends! Today I want to tell you all about volunteers and why they are just the coolest people ever. Volunteering is when you help others for free because you care about them and want to make the world a little bit better. Pretty neat, right? There are volunteers all around us if you look closely. Maybe you see high school kids picking up trash at a park on the weekends. Or you might have an elderly neighbor who spends time at the animal shelter petting the dogs and cats. Those are both examples of volunteers giving their time to help others.Volunteers are awesome for so many reasons. First of all, they make their communities happier and healthier places. Imagine if no one volunteered - parks would be gross, animals wouldn't have people to care for them, and sick people might not get visitors. Volunteers fill in the gaps and provide helping hands where they are needed most.Another reason volunteers rock is that they don't get paid for the hard work they do. Can you believe that? They help others just because they want to, not because they have to or are getting money for it. Volunteers have good hearts and care about people besides just themselves. We could all learn a little something from their generosity and compassion.Let me tell you about two volunteers I look up to a lot. The first is my uncle Tim. Every week, Uncle Tim goes down to the local food bank and organizes all the donated cans and boxes of food. He makes sure everything is counted, sorted nicely, and ready to go for families in need to pick up. Uncle Tim works reallyhard, but he says seeing the smiles on people's faces when they get their food makes it all worth it.The second volunteer I admire is Mrs. Jennings, one of the teacher assistants at our school. Even though Mrs. Jennings is retired, she comes to school daily to help out wherever an extra pair of hands is needed. Sometimes she works with kids who need extra tutoring in math. Other times she organizes fun art projects or reads books out loud. Mrs. Jennings always has a warm smile and makes everyone feel welcome and supported. Our school just wouldn't be the same without her! Those are just two examples, but volunteers can be found giving back in so many ways, both big and small. Some volunteers travel to other countries to build houses and schools. Others simply shovel sidewalks for neighbors when it snows. Some spend hours knitting warm hats and blankets for hospital patients. No matter what they do, volunteers make a difference.I really look up to volunteers because they step up to help without expecting anything in return. They see a need and take action. I think more of us, even kids, could try to be volunteers too! It doesn't have to be a huge thing - we could offer to rake leaves for elderly neighbors, bake treats for firefighters, or readbooks to younger kids at daycares. Small acts of kindness from the heart can make a big impact.Volunteering teaches us to look outside of ourselves and think about others' needs. It makes us grateful for what we have when we see others' struggles. But most of all, volunteering allows us to spend our time in a productive, meaningful way that leaves the world a little bit better than it was before. Pretty awesome, right?I bet if you look around your own community, you'll start noticing all the wonderful volunteers who help make it a nice place to live. Why not say thanks next time you see one hard at work? And think about ways you could lend a hand too - I'm sure they'd be glad for any extra helper, big or small!Volunteers have a very special giving spirit. They see opportunities to pitch in rather than looking the other way. By freely offering their time and energy, they spread joy, compassion, and hope wherever they go. To all the volunteers out there, keep being awesome! The world needs more people like you.篇5Being a Volunteer is So Much Fun!Hi friends! Today I want to tell you all about my experience being a volunteer. It was so exciting and rewarding. I had a blast helping others and making my community a better place.Last summer, my mom saw a flyer at the library about a volunteer program for kids. She thought it would be a great way for me to spend part of my vacation doing something meaningful instead of just playing video games all day. At first, I wasn't too sure about giving up my free time. But then she explained how volunteering would allow me to help people in need and make new friends. That got me interested! The first step was signing up for the program. We had to fill out a form with our name, age, interests, and availability. I said I was interested in working with animals and children. A few weeks later, I got a call saying I had been accepted as a volunteer! I was paired with two different places - the animal shelter on Saturdays and the children's hospital on Sundays. I was super excited. My first volunteer shift was at the animal shelter. When I arrived, I met the volunteer coordinator who showed me around. There were so many cute dogs, cats, bunnies, and even a few birds! My job was to help take the dogs for walks, play with them, brush them, and clean out their areas. It was a lot of work but I loved every second of it. The dogs were all so happy and gratefulfor the attention and exercise. By the end of the day, I was tired but felt great about helping those sweet animals. The next day, I went to volunteer at the children's hospital. I was nervous at first because I didn't have much experience with kids. But the staff was really nice and showed me what to do. My role was to visit the children's rooms and keep them company. Some were feeling sick or lonely, so I read stories, played games, and just chatted with them. It was amazing to see their faces light up with big smiles! A few kids even helped me make crafts to decorate the playroom. Spending time with them made me appreciate how strong and brave they all were.Over the summer, I stuck with my volunteer schedule each weekend. I looked forward to both of my shifts because they were so rewarding in different ways. At the animal shelter, I got plenty of exercise and cuddles with the furry friends. And at the hospital, I felt like I was really making a difference by bringing joy to kids who were going through a tough time.Volunteering also allowed me to make new friends! At the animal shelter, I met other kids around my age who loved animals as much as I did. We got to play with the cutest puppies together. And at the hospital, I became friends with some of the staff like the child life specialists. They taught me a lot about howto entertain and comfort the children. I made so many happy memories with my new friends.By the end of that summer, I had learned so many valuable lessons from being a volunteer. It taught me to appreciate what I have and not take things for granted. It helped me become more patient, responsible, and caring toward others. Volunteering showed me that one person really can make a difference, no matter how small the act of kindness. Most importantly, it was a fun and rewarding experience that I'll never forget! Now I try to volunteer as often as I can. It makes me feel good to give back to my community. My family and I also look for other ways to help others, whether it's collecting canned goods for the food bank, cleaning up litter in our neighborhood park, or just being a good friend. Volunteering is a way of life for me now.If you've never volunteered before, I highly recommend giving it a try! There are so many great causes and organizations that need an extra hand. Find something you're passionate about, like animals, kids, the environment, or any other topic that interests you. Volunteering will allow you to pursue your interests while doing good deeds at the same time. You'll gainawesome experiences, skills, and friends. What could be better than that?So get out there and volunteer! You can start small by helping a neighbor or signing up for a one-day event first. Take it from me, being a volunteer is so much fun. It's a fantastic way to make a positive impact while learning and growing as a person. Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone - I'm so glad I did. Just give it a shot and I'm sure you'll be hooked, just like me!篇6Being a Volunteer is So Much Fun!Hi friends! Today I want to tell you all about volunteers and why it's awesome to be one. A volunteer is someone who helps others for free because they want to, not because they have to. It feels really good to volunteer and make people happy.Last summer, I was a volunteer at the animal shelter near my house. I went there three days a week to help take care of the dogs and cats. Every morning, I would fill up their food and water bowls. Then I got to play with the animals and give them lots of pats and scratches. The dogs especially loved going for walks and getting treats from me. Walking the dogs was my favorite part! Some of the animals had been abandoned or lost by their owners. That made me really sad. But the animal shelter workers told me that volunteers like me helped get those poor animals adopted into new, loving homes. By playing with the pets and keeping them happy, it was easier to find families who wanted them. Isn't that great? At the end of each day, I felt tired from running around after all those animals. But I also felt really proud and happy for helping out. The staff told me how much they appreciated volunteers like me. That made me just beam with pride! Mom said she could see how much I loved going to the shelter each week. There are so many other places that need volunteers too. Some kids volunteer at food banks, packing up groceries for families who can't afford to buy enough. Others read books to little kids or play games with seniors at nursing homes. Volunteers also help out at hospitals, libraries, parks, and anywhere else that could use an extra pair of hands.Being a volunteer teaches you lots of important life skills too. You learn how to be responsible by showing up on time and doing your tasks. You practice being patient, especially if you'reworking with little kids or animals. Volunteering shows that you care about your community and want to make it a better place. It's also a great way to explore different jobs you might want to do when you're older. If you love being around animals, maybe you'd want to be a veterinarian someday. Or if you have fun reading to kids, you could become a teacher. Volunteering lets you try out different interests for free!I had such a blast volunteering at the animal shelter last summer. I can't wait to go back again this year. I'm also going to look for other places I can volunteer, like the local library or park. Volunteering is just so much fun and makes you feel awesome inside. If you've never volunteered before, I super duper recommend giving it a try. You're going to love it! Just look online or ask parents and teachers where volunteers are needed in your community. Any place that helps people or animals would be happy to have you pitch in.Volunteering is one of the coolest things you can do. You get to help others while also trying out new skills and interests. What could be better than that? Giving back just makes the whole world a brighter, happier place. Who doesn't want more of that?So what are you waiting for? Sign up to volunteer somewhere today! Your community needs you. Oh and don't forget to have a huuuuge smile on while you're volunteering. That's what makes it the most fun of all. Happy volunteering, friends!。

八年级英语作文:志愿者的力量Volunteering is an act of kindness and dedication to serve the community and help those in need. It not only benefits the recipients but also brings immense joy and fulfillment to the volunteers themselves. As an eighth-grader, I have had the opportunity to participate in various volunteer activities, and the experiences have been truly rewarding. One of my most memorable volunteer experiences was when I joined a group of volunteers to clean up a local park. The park was full of trash and overgrown weeds, but with the help of our team, we were able to transform it into a beautiful and inviting space. It was satisfying to see the park transformed and know that we had made a positive impact on the environment and the community.Another志愿者经历 that was particularly meaningful to me was when I volunteered at a local hospital. I helped patients by running errands, providing companionship, and assisting with their daily needs. Interacting with the patients and seeing their grateful smiles made me realizethe importance of my contributions and the difference I could make in their lives.Volunteering has also helped me develop importantskills such as teamwork, communication, and leadership. Working with a group of volunteers requires cooperation and understanding, which has taught me to work well with others and respect diverse opinions. Additionally, volunteering has given me the opportunity to take on leadership roles and develop my ability to motivate and inspire others. Moreover, volunteering has taught me the importance of gratitude and appreciation. As a volunteer, I have come to realize the privilege it is to be able to help others and contribute to society. It has made me more appreciative of the opportunities and resources I have and has inspired me to give back to my community whenever I can.In conclusion, volunteering has been a transformative experience for me as an eighth-grader. It has not only allowed me to make a positive impact on the lives of others but has also helped me grow as an individual. I believethat everyone, regardless of their age, should have the opportunity to experience the joy and fulfillment thatcomes from volunteering. After all, it is through our actions and dedication that we can create a better world for everyone.**志愿者的力量**志愿者是一种善良和奉献的行为,他们为社区和需要帮助的人提供服务。

关于志愿者八年级英语作文(通用9篇)全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1Volunteers Are Awesome!Hey there! My name is Jamie and I'm in 8th grade. Today I want to tell you all about volunteers and why they are just so awesome. Volunteers are people who choose to help others by giving their time and energy for free. They don't get paid, but they make a huge difference in their communities and the world.I've had some great experiences with volunteers in my life. At my school, we have a bunch of volunteer tutors and mentors who come help students like me with our schoolwork. These tutors are usually college students or retired teachers and they are super smart and patient. They meet with us after school to go over anything we're struggling with - math, reading, you name it. My tutor Mark always makes time to listen if I'm having a hard day and he never makes me feel dumb for asking questions. Thanks to him, I finally understand algebra!Volunteers also run a lot of the after-school activities and clubs at my school. There's a volunteer who leads the art club, another who manages the drama club's plays and musicals, and even a group of high school volunteers who coach our sports teams. Without volunteers, my school wouldn't have half the cool opportunities it does. My friend Samantha is in the drama club and she says the volunteer director is amazing at bringing out everyone's talents. But volunteers don't just help out at schools. They lend a hand in so many other places too. Have you ever been to a hospital? Well, there are tons of volunteers at hospitals - they might greet people at the front desk, deliver flowers to patients, or even cuddle babies in the nursery! Volunteers at animal shelters take the dogs for walks and play with the cats so they get socialized. There are volunteers who serve meals at soup kitchens, plant trees in parks, and build houses for people in need. Basically, if you can think of someone who needs help, there's probably a volunteer trying to make their life a little easier. Some of the most amazing volunteers are the ones who travel to other countries to provide aid after natural disasters like hurricanes, earthquakes, or floods. They risk their own safety to deliver food, water, medical supplies, and shelter to suffering people. My class studied the 2010 Haiti earthquake a few yearsago and we learned how volunteers set up tent cities and mobile hospitals to care for all the injured people. It was so inspiring hearing their stories of courage and compassion. But you don't have to go overseas to be an awesome volunteer. There are tons of great ways to volunteer right here in our community! My grandpa is a volunteer driver for ameals-on-wheels program that delivers hot food to elderly people who can't easily leave their homes. My best friend Julia and her family volunteer at our local food bank a few times a month, sorting and packing up donations. For her latest birthday, Julia asked everyone to bring canned foods instead of gifts so she could donate them. How cool is that?I haven't been a volunteer yet myself, but I definitely plan to once I get a little older. There's a youth volunteer program at the animal shelter that I really want to join - I would love to get to hang out with dogs and cats while helping a good cause! My mom says we should look for opportunities to do some volunteering together over the summer too. I think it will feel amazing to spend my free time making someone else's life brighter.Of course, volunteers don't just help other people - they also gain a lot themselves. Volunteering teaches you responsibility, organization, and leadership skills. It looks super great on college applications and job resumes. Plus, you get to meet new people, make friends, and be part of a community. But most of all, volunteering gives you a wonderful sense of purpose by allowing you to put good into the world. Helpers just seem happier to me.So as you can see, volunteers totally rock. They give up their free time, work really hard, and ask for nothing in return except the chance to help others. Volunteers make the world a kinder, brighter, more beautiful place for all of us. Don't you want to be one of those awesome helpers too?I'm going to leave you with a quote that really inspires me: "Volunteers don't get paid, not because they're worthless, but because they're priceless." Let's hear it for all the priceless volunteers out there - hip hip hooray! If you see a volunteer today, be sure to thank them for me.篇2Volunteers Are Awesome!Have you ever seen people helping out at a food bank or cleaning up a park? Those people are volunteers, and they are super cool! Volunteers help make our community a better place. They are kind people who give their time to do good things for others without getting paid. I think volunteers are awesome. One way volunteers help is by giving food to people who don't have enough to eat. They work at food banks and food pantries. A food bank is a big place that collects donated food. Food pantries are smaller and give the food directly to hungry families. My mom takes me to volunteer at our local food pantry sometimes. We pack up bags with cans, boxes, and other foods that people have donated. Then families can come pick up the bags so they have food for meals. It feels really good to help give people healthy food.Another way volunteers help is by taking care of animals. There are animal shelters where volunteers play with the dogs and cats, feed them, clean up after them, and make sure they are happy until they can find new forever homes. My friend Julia volunteers at the animal shelter every week. She says the dogs are always so excited to see her and get pets and treats! Cats like getting brushed too. The shelter couldn't take care of all those animals without volunteer help.Volunteers also help keep parks and outdoor spaces looking nice. They pick up litter, pull weeds, plant trees and flowers, and maintain hiking trails. Last year, my scout troop did a volunteerday at the city park. We split into teams to clean up different areas. My team picked up so many bottles, cans, and wrappers that people had left behind. It was hard work but we felt proud when our section looked spotless. Parks are much more enjoyable without trash everywhere. At school, there are volunteer opportunities too. Some kids volunteer to be crossing guards and help little kids cross the street safely in the morning and after school. Others volunteer to read books to kindergarten classes or be student tutors. Volunteers can help in the library, school gardens, and computer labs too. My older brother volunteers in the library during his free period. He shelves returned books and helps students find what they need. Easy volunteer jobs like that make the school run smoother. You can also volunteer your special skills. My uncle is really good at fixing cars, so he volunteers at a shop that repairs vehicles for low-income families. Kids can volunteer too if they have useful skills like being good at math, computers, art, music, or other activities. Maybe you are an awesome basketball player - you could volunteer to help coach a youth team. Or if you love reading, you could volunteer to read stories at a library orretirement home. Sharing your talents is a great way to volunteer.Big events like races, concerts, and festivals also need lots of volunteers to make them happen. Volunteers hand out programs, give directions, set up and clean up supplies, and do all kinds of jobs. It's fun to volunteer for your favorite events and be part of the action. My dad is a big baseball fan, so he volunteers to collect tickets and show people to their seats at baseball games in the summer. I went with him a couple times and got to go inside the stadium early - it was way cool!Anyone can be a volunteer from little kids to grandparents. It doesn't matter if you are a boy or girl, short or tall, good at school or not. All you need is a kind heart and a willingness to help others. You can volunteer just once in a while for a couple hours, or make it a regular weekly activity. Volunteering makes you feel good inside, lets you learn new skills, get exercise, and meet new people. But most importantly, volunteers make their community better by helping others.I hope after reading this, you feel inspired to become a volunteer too! Talk to your parents, teachers, or youth group leaders about volunteer opportunities in your area. Or just look around your neighborhood for places that could use a helpinghand. Decide what type of volunteering fits your interests and schedule. Then get out there and start making a difference - the world needs more awesome volunteers like you!篇3Being a Volunteer: My Awesome Experience!Hey guys! Today I want to tell you all about my experience being a volunteer. It's been such an amazing journey and I've learned so much. I hope by the end of this essay, you'll be inspired to volunteer too!It all started last year when my English teacher, Mrs. Johnson, announced that our school was looking for student volunteers to help out at the local community center. She said it would be great experience, looked good on college applications, and allowed us to give back. I wasn't sure at first, but my best friend Samantha was really excited about it, so I decided to sign up with her.Our first day at the community center was a littlenerve-wracking, I'm not gonna lie. We had to attend an orientation where they explained all the different volunteer roles and responsibilities. There were opportunities to serve food at the soup kitchen, help little kids with homework at theafter-school program, or pack boxes of donations at the food pantry. Sam and I decided to split our time between the homework help and food pantry. Those first few weeks were definitely an adjustment! Working at the homework club was tough because you had to be so patient with the kids. Some of them struggled a lot and it was hard not to get frustrated when they didn't understand something. But Mr. Mike, the program coordinator, showed us techniques to make learning fun through games and positive reinforcement. Slowly but surely, we got the hang of it.The food pantry was awesome too, but pretty physical work. We had to lift heavy boxes of canned goods, sort through donations, and stack everything neatly on shelves. By the end of our shift, we were absolutely exhausted! But it felt amazing to know we were helping to fight hunger and provide food for families in need.As the weeks went by, volunteering became something I actually looked forward to. The community center felt like a second home, and all the staff, volunteers and people we served became like a second family. Sam and I formed such a bond with "our" kids at homework club. It was the best feeling in the world when one of them finally understood a tough math concept oraced their spelling test. At the food pantry, we got to know all the regulars by name and they'd always ask how we were doing in school. My favorite moments though were when we got thanked or heard someone's inspiring story. One day, a mom came up to me and Sam in tears saying the after-school program allowed her to work a job to provide for her kids, instead of worrying where they'd be. An elderly man told us that without the food pantry, he'd go hungry most weeks. Hearing how much of an impact our small efforts made was so powerful.Honestly, I can't put into words how much volunteering has changed my life and perspective. It taught me to be more grateful for what I have, more empathetic to other people's struggles, and that no effort is too small to make a difference. Sure, it was hard work and unpaid, but the fulfillment I felt was better than any paycheck.I truly believe that serving others, even in little ways, is one of the most rewarding things you can do. We're all in this together, you know? I'm going to keep volunteering for the rest of my life, wherever I go. Who's with me?!So there you have it, friends - my volunteer experience in a nutshell! If you've made it this far, you must be at least a littleinspired, right? Don't wait any longer, find a cause you care about and get out there! Your community needs you. Trust me, you won't regret it one bit.篇4Volunteers Are Super Cool!Hi everyone! Today I want to tell you all about volunteers. Volunteers are really awesome people who help others without getting paid. They do it just because they want to make the world a better place. Isn't that amazing? In my school, we have lots of volunteer opportunities for 8th graders to get involved with. One way to volunteer is by being a reading buddy. As a reading buddy, you get paired up with a younger student and you meet up every week to read books together. It's a fun way to help little kids practice their reading skills while getting to know them better.Another cool way to volunteer is by joining the environmental club. The environmental club does projects to help protect nature and keep our school "green." You might help plant a garden, setup recycling bins, or clean up litter around the neighborhood. Getting outdoors and getting your hands dirty can be a blast! If you love animals, then volunteering at the local animal shelter is the opportunity for you! You can help take care of dogs and cats that don't have homes yet. Playing with the puppies and kittens is definitely the best part. But you also help by feeding them, giving them baths, and cleaning their living areas. It's a lot of work but so rewarding when you know you're helping those sweet furry friends. For students who like working with kids, being a tutor is an awesome volunteer job. You can tutor younger students who need some extra help with their schoolwork. Maybe they're struggling with math or need practice reading out loud - as a tutor, you get to provide that one-on-one support to help them improve. Seeing a student's face light up when they finally understand something is the best feeling ever!Volunteering at a hospital, food bank, or retirement home are other great options too. No matter what kind of volunteering you do, you're making a positive impact. And that's what's so cool about it!The best thing is, volunteering helps other people for sure. But it's also amazing for the volunteers themselves. You learn crucial life skills like responsibility, teamwork, and leadership. You get to step outside your comfort zone, meet new people, and try new experiences. Volunteering helps boost yourself-confidence and gives you a sense of pride and accomplishment. It's honestly just super fun!I remember my first time volunteering, I was pretty nervous at first. I didn't know what to expect. But the people running the volunteer program were so welcoming and helpful. They trained us and explained everything we needed to do. Once I got started, it was fantastic! The other student volunteers were all really nice too. We worked together, had a ton of laughs, and by the end I had made some new friends.Volunteering lets you give back to your community while doing activities you enjoy. It looks awesome on job and college applications down the road too. But most importantly, it makes you feel amazing inside knowing you're doing good deeds to help make the world better. When you look at all the great benefits, it's easy to see why every 8th grader should try to find a way to volunteer this year. The opportunities are endless, plus it's a fantastic way to spend your free time. You're never too young to start making a difference! If you've never volunteered before, I highly encourage you to go for it. Talk to your teachers, parents, or school counselorsabout different volunteer programs to join. Or you can even just look around your neighborhood and community to see where some volunteer help might be needed. It's such an easy way to step up and pitch in.Once you start volunteering, you'll totally get hooked. It's an unbelievably rewarding experience that you'll remember forever. You'll make new friends, learn about yourself, and feel proud contributing to awesome causes. What could be cooler than that?So don't wait - become a volunteer superhero today! Your community needs you. Just a few hours of your time can create a huge positive impact. And I can promise, you'll have an absolute blast doing it. Volunteering really is the best!篇5My Life as a VolunteerHi there! My name is Alex, and I'm in 8th grade. I love being a volunteer, and I want to tell you all about my experiences. It's such an amazing thing to do, and I always feel so happy and proud when I help others. When I was younger, my parents used to take me to volunteer events during the holidays. We would go to soup kitchens and shelters to serve food to people who didn't have homes or families to spend the holidays with. Seeing their grateful smiles was the best gift I could ever receive. In 4th grade, I joined the school's volunteer club. We did all sorts of cool projects like beach cleanups, visiting nursing homes, and helping out at animal shelters. I loved playing with the puppies and kittens – they were so cute and cuddly! The elderly people at the nursing homes also loved when we came to visit. They would tell us stories about their lives, and we would sing songs or read books to them. One of my favorite volunteer experiences was when our club went to a children's hospital. We got to dress up in silly costumes and go room to room, entertaining the kids who were sick. It was amazing to see their faces light up with joy, even though they weren't feeling well. We played games, did magic tricks, and told jokes. For a little while, we helped them forget about being in the hospital.Last year, I started volunteering at the local library. I love books so much, and it's really cool to help other kids find great stories to read. Sometimes I get to read aloud to little kids duringstory time, which is a lot of fun. I also help shelve books and keep the library looking neat and organized. This summer, I'm going on a volunteer trip to help build houses for families in need. I'll be working with a group from my church to construct simple, safe homes for people who don't have a decent place to live. It's going to be really hard work, but I'm excited to learn new skills and make a big difference in someone's life.Volunteering has taught me so many valuable lessons. I've learned to be more patient, kind, and understanding toward others. I've gained confidence in myself and discovered new talents I didn't know I had. Most importantly, I've learned that one person really can make the world a better place, even if it's just by putting a smile on someone's face.I plan to continue volunteering for the rest of my life. There's nothing quite like the feeling of helping others and knowing that you've made a positive impact, even in a small way. To all my fellow kids out there, I highly recommend getting involved with volunteering. You'll make new friends, learn cool new things, and feel amazing about yourself. What could be better than that?So there you have it – my life as a volunteer so far. I've had so many wonderful experiences, and I know there are many moreto come. If you've never volunteered before, I encourage you to give it a try. You might just find your new favorite hobby...and change the world at the same time!篇6Being a Volunteer is Way Cool!Hi friends! Today I want to tell you about the super awesome experience I had being a volunteer. It was so much fun and I learned a ton of great stuff. I can't wait to share all the details with you!It all started when my English teacher, Mrs. Johnson, told our class that we needed to do 10 hours of community service this semester. At first, I was like "Ugh, that's so much work!" But then she explained that we could volunteer for different organizations around town. That sounded a lot better than cleaning up litter in the park like we did last year.Mrs. Johnson gave us a list of places that needed volunteers. There were options like the animal shelter, the library, the food bank, the senior center, and the hospital. She said we had to pick one and get our parents to sign a permission slip.I really wanted to volunteer at the animal shelter because I'm obsessed with dogs and cats. Unfortunately, a bunch of other kids had the same idea, so the spots filled up fast. My second choice was the food bank because my mom is always saying how important it is to help people who don't have enough to eat. When I brought the permission slip home, my mom was really excited. She said volunteering would look great on my record for high school applications. I'm not sure what that means, but it made her happy at least! The first day I went to the food bank, I didn't really know what to expect. It was in this huge warehouse with metal shelves stacked high with boxes and cans of food. There were also big fridges and freezers full of milk, eggs, meat and other perishables. The volunteer coordinator, Jessica, welcomed me and the other kids. She said our job would be to sort through all the food donations and pack them into boxes and bags to give to families in need. It sounded easy enough.Well, let me tell you, it was not as easy as I thought! First of all, categorizing all the food was really hard. There were so many different types of canned goods, boxes, bags, jars, you name it.We had to check expiration dates, separate by type, and sort by size. My arms got so tired from lifting and carrying! The worst part was dealing with the dented cans. We couldn't include those in the food boxes, so we had to take each one out, remove the label, and use a special tool to punch a hole in it to drain out the contents. That was pretty gross, let me tell you! Especially the ones with mystery meat or vegetables. Blech!Despite how tiring and kinda smelly it was, I actually had a really great time volunteering at the food bank. All the kids worked together as a team to get everything organized efficiently. The coordinators were awesome at giving us snack breaks and keeping our spirits up when we started to drag. But you know what the best part was? At the end of each shift, we got to go out into the parking lot and hand out the food boxes to people driving through in their cars. Seeing the looks on their faces when they got fresh milk, produce, and all the other essentials made me feel so happy inside.A lot of the people said "Thank you" or "God bless you" with huge smiles. A little girl even gave me a picture she colored to say thanks! Moments like that made all the hard work worth it. Knowing I was helping to nourish families who really needed it was the most incredible feeling. In total, I ended up volunteering at the food bank for 20 hours over 4 weekends. By the end, I felt like part of the team and had made some new friends with the other volunteers. The coordinators even gave me a free t-shirt and water bottle!I definitely recommend that everyone try volunteering at some point. It's such an amazing way to help others while also helping yourself. You learn patience, teamwork, and gratitude. And who knows, you might discover a cause you're really passionate about!I plan to keep volunteering at the food bank over future breaks when I can. My experience there opened my eyes to how many people struggle with hunger and food insecurity. It's such an important issue that doesn't get enough attention. The more people who lend a hand, the bigger impact we can make!So what are you waiting for? Look for volunteer opportunities in your community and sign up today! Lift some boxes, meet some new people, and do some good for the world. Trust me, it's one of the most rewarding experiences you'll ever have. Just don't forget to bring a sturdy pair of shoes - those cans get heavy!。
英语作文八年级下册当一名志愿者全文共5篇示例,供读者参考篇1Being a Volunteer is the Best!Hi there! My name is Emma and I'm in 8th grade. Today I want to tell you all about my awesome experience of being a volunteer. It's been so much fun and I've learned a ton too!Last summer, my mom saw a flyer at our community center asking for student volunteers. She asked me if I was interested in helping out and I said "Sure, why not?" I didn't know much about volunteering back then, but I'm really glad I decided to give it a try.The place I volunteer at is a local animal shelter called Furry Friends. They take in stray dogs and cats and help find them new forever homes. When I first went there, I have to admit I was a little nervous. But the ladies working there were super nice and showed me what to do.My main jobs are cleaning out the kennels and pet areas, feeding the animals, giving them fresh water, and playing with them. I especially love playing with the dogs and taking them outfor walks. The cats are really cute too, even if they are a little more standoffish sometimes. At first, cleaning up all the pet messes was pretty gross. But I got used to it quickly. The hardest part is seeing some of the animals who have been abandoned or mistreated. It makes me so sad to think about what they went through before coming to the shelter. But then I remember that they are safe now and on their way to finding a loving new family. One of the best parts about volunteering is getting to name the new arrivals! The rule is we can pick any name we want as long as it's not already taken. I've named dogs after my favorite book characters, superheroes, Foods I like – you name it! Sometimes I'll look at a pet's personality or appearance for inspiration too. Like there was this fluffy white cat who seemed really sweet, so I called her Marshmallow.Spending time at the shelter has taught me a lot about how to properly care for animals. I've learned all sorts of things like how to make homemade dog treats, how to give pets a bath, and how to train them with positive reinforcement. This new knowledge has made me an even better pet owner for my dog Bingo at home.Another big part of being a volunteer is interacting with the people who come to potentially adopt a pet. I try my best to match them with the perfect furry friend based on their lifestyle and preferences. It's awesome when I can help facilitate that special connection between a person and pet! Some people are surprised to hear that a middle schooler like me has so much responsibility at the shelter. But the staff have been really impressed by my work ethic and maturity. I guess scooping litter boxes and dealing with hyper puppies is pretty good practice for having a first job someday! While volunteering has its challenges for sure, it's been an incredibly rewarding experience overall. Whenever I'm having a rough day, going to the shelter always cheers me up. Hanging out with the animals is a great stress-reliever after dealing with teachers, homework, peer drama, and all the other fun stuff that comes with being in middle school.Probably the best part though is knowing that I'm making a real difference. Because of volunteers like me, these dogs and cats have a safe temporary home and get a second chance at finding their forever family. That alone makes all my hard work worth it.If you're an animal lover, I totally recommend getting involved with your local shelter or rescue organization. Or even if animals aren't really your thing, there are so many other great causes that need volunteers too. Hospitals, food banks, community clean-ups, you name it. Volunteering is a fantastic way to help others while also exploring your interests and learning new skills. Now that I'm in 8th grade and about to head to high school, I plan on continuing to volunteer as much as I can. My time at Furry Friends has sparked my passion for animal welfare, and helping out there has played a huge role in shaping who I am today. It's showed me the importance of kindness, hard work, and pitching in to make your community a little bit better.Volunteering has been one of the most positive and impactful experiences of my middle school years without a doubt. If you get the chance, I really hope you'll consider getting involved too. You might just end up loving it as much as I do! Thanks for reading, and stay pawsome!篇2Being a Volunteer is the Best!Hey there! My name is Sam and I'm in 8th grade. Today I want to tell you all about my awesome experience of being a volunteer. It's been so much fun and I've learned a ton of cool stuff! It all started last summer when my mom said I couldn't just laze around all vacation playing video games. She said I needed to "give back to the community" and do some volunteering. At first I was like "aww man, that's going to be so boring!" But my mom can be really persuasive when she wants to be. So I finally agreed to look into some volunteer opportunities.I did a quick search online and found this really neat place called the Animal Rescue Center. They take in stray dogs and cats and care for them until they can find them all forever homes. As soon as I saw they needed volunteers to help play with and socialize the animals, I was 100% in! I've always loved dogs and cats. What could be better than getting to hang out with a bunch of cute puppies and kittens? On my first day, I was definitely a little nervous. But the staff was super friendly and showed me around. They explained how I'd be taking some of the animals out of their cages and into the play areas. My main jobs were keeping them exercised, entertthe d, brushed, and cuddled! It was amazing from the very first minute. As soon as I walked into the dog run area, I was surrounded by a bunch of lovable, furry bundles of energy. They were all jumping up, licking my hands, and wagging their tails like crazy. A few of the puppies even started playfully nipping at my shoelaces! I didn't care though, I was just so happy to be around them.Over the next few weeks, I got to know all the dogs and cats really well. I had my favorites that I looked forward to spending time with each visit. There was Rufus, an older golden retriever who loved tummy rubs. Whenever I came in, he'd plop himself down right away waiting for belly scratches. Then there were the mischievous little kitten sisters, Ginger and Cinnamon, who would crawl all over me trying to bat at my hair!My parents couldn't believe how excited I was to volunteer, especially during summer vacation. I guess they thought I'd be moping around missing my friends or something. But I couldn't wait to go back every time! Caring for those sweet animals was just the best.Probably my proudest moment was when Buddy, asix-month-old pup I'd been working with, finally got adopted into a new forever home. When I first met Buddy, he was super shy and would barely even make eye contact. But after spendingtime with him, feeding him treats, and playing all our games, he became such a cheerful, friendly dog. I'll never forget when his new family came to meet him - he ran right over to them, hopping up and giving them puppy kisses like they were already best friends. It made me so happy to see how far he'd come!Don't get me wrong, there were some not-so-fun parts too. Like all the poop I had to scoop out of the kennels and run areas. That was pretty gross. And when new batches of strays first arrived, some of them would bark and growl nonstop for a while before settling in. That always gave me a headache. But those were just small downsides compared to all the amazing ups!Honestly, I could go on and on about how awesome volunteering has been. Through it all, I really feel like I learned some important life lessons too. Things like responsibility - the animal caretakers depended on me to show up on time and take my duties seriously. And patience - some days the dogs or cats were a handful and I had to keep my cool. Most of all though, I learned the value of giving back and helping others (or animals in this case!). It feels so incredibly rewarding knowing you're making a positive difference in the lives of these rescued pets.So if you're looking for an incredible way to spend your free time, I can't recommend volunteering enough. It's been a totalgame-changer for me. What started as something I "had" to do for summer has become my passion. I plan to keep volunteering at the Rescue Center for as long as they'll have me! Who knows, maybe I'll even pursue a career working with animals when I'm older. Either way, this experience has shaped me into a better, more caring and responsible person. If you take anything from this essay, I hope it's that no matter how young you are, you're never too young to start giving back and making your community a bit brighter. Trust me, it's the best!篇3Being a Volunteer is the Best!Hey there! My name is Jamie and I'm an 8th grader at Oakwood Middle School. Today I want to tell you all about my experiences as a volunteer. It's been such an awesome thing for me and I really think everyone should try volunteering. Let me explain why it's so great! It all started last year when my mom saw a flyer at our community center asking for student volunteers to help out at a local animal shelter. She knows how much I love dogs and cats, so she suggested I sign up. At first, I wasn't sure if I wanted to give up my Saturdays to go scoop litter boxes and walk smellymutts. But my mom convinced me that it would be really fun and a good way to help out.Boy, was she right! From the very first Saturday I went to the shelter, I had a total blast. The dogs there are just the cutest, even if some of them are a little rambunctious. Getting to take them out for walks and runs in the park was my favorite part. Their cute furry faces and wagging tails just made me smile every single time. But it wasn't just the dogs that made it fun - it was also the great people I met there. The staff that work at the shelter are some of the nicest folks around. And the other student volunteers were really cool too. We'd joke around while bathing the dogs and cleaning the cat areas. Pretty much every Saturday, we'd all get ice cream together after our volunteer shift ended as a little reward. As I kept going week after week, I realized how much good I was actually doing just by volunteering a few hours of my time. Can you believe that shelter has a tough time finding enough people to help care for all those animals? It's crazy! By volunteeir staff was there, those dogs and cats wouldn't be nearly as healthy and happy.Volunteering at the animal shelter got me really interested in doing more, so I started looking around for other opportunities too. That's how I got involved with the park clean-up days that happen every few months in our town. A bunch of my friends and I will spend a few hours picking up trash around the hiking trails and playgrounds. It's honestly pretty fun because we blast music and have competitions to see who can grab the most bottles and wrappers. We're hanging out, getting some exercise, and making our parks look awesome all at the same time!Another one of my favorite volunteer gigs is helping out with parties and events for the younger kids put on by our parks and rec department. Whether it's facilitating craft stations, leading games, or just keeping an eye on the little ones, it's so rewarding. The kids absolutely love it and have a total blast. And you should see their little smiley faces - it seriously melts my heart every time! Their parents are always so grateful too that we're giving them a little break and keeping their kiddos entertained.Between the animal shelter, park clean-ups, and kid events, I probably volunteer around 10 hours per month. And you know what? It's probably one of the most fun and rewarding things I do! Sure, it takes up some of my free time on weekends. But itgets me outdoors, lets me hang with my friends, allows me to help out my community, and honestly makes me feel amazing. There's just something so satisfying about pitching in and making a difference, even if it's in a small way.I truly think volunteering has made me a better person too. It's helped me see outside of my own little world and realize that there's a whole community around me that needs help and support. It's taught me to be more grateful for the things I have and has made me want to find more ways to give back. Volunteering is certainly hard work sometimes, but it's SO worth it.Plus, volunteering is a huge self-confidence booster! Every time I see how my efforts positively impact those shelter pets, keep our parks clean, or put those big smiles on kids' faces, I feel so proud of myself. It's such a great reminder that I can accomplish things and make the world a little bit better just by deciding to lend a hand. That's an awesome self-esteem booster for a teenager like me! Volunteering has helped me realize that I'm capable of more than I thought.Honestly, I can't recommend volunteering enough - especially to you other middle and high schoolers out there! It's such a fun, rewarding, and impactful way to spend your free time.Don't just take my word for it though. Talk to your parents, teachers, or counselors about potential volunteer opportunities in your area and sign up for something that interests you. Trust me, you won't regret it one bit!Whether it's two hours per month or ten hours per week, any amount of volunteering makes a difference. And I'm sure that once you start, you'll end up just as hooked as I am! Volunteering is a force for so much positivity in our world. So what are you waiting for? Go be that force for awesome today!篇4Being a Volunteer: Learning to Serve with a SmileHi there! My name is Emma and I'm in 8th grade. Today I wanted to tell you all about my experience being a volunteer last summer. It was really fun and rewarding, and I learned a lot too!It all started when my mom saw a flyer at our community center about a summer program where kids could volunteer at different places around town. She thought it would be a great way for me to spend some of my free time and give back to the community. At first, I wasn't super excited about giving up part of my summer vacation. But then my mom convinced me that it would look really good on my record for high schoolapplications. Plus, she said I could make some new friends. So I decided篇5Being a VolunteerHi there! My name is Jamie and I'm an 8th grader at Oakwood Middle School. Today, I want to tell you all about my awesome experience being a volunteer over the past year. It's been so much fun and I've learned a ton!Last summer, my mom suggested I look for a volunteering opportunity to keep me busy during the long break from school. At first, I wasn't super excited about the idea of giving up my free time. But then my mom explained how volunteering can help others in need and make a positive impact on the community. That got me interested! We did some research online and found several local organizations that rely on volunteers. One that really caught my eye was the animal shelter near our house. I've always loved dogs and cats, so I thought it would be great to spend time helping take care of the homeless pets there. When I went for my first volunteer orientation, I was blown away by how nice and welcoming everyone was. The staff gaveus an tour and explained all the different ways we could pitch in. Everything from feeding the animals and cleaning their cages to walking the dogs and playing with them. There were even opportunities to help with adoption events to find forever homes for the pets. I knew right away this was the place for me!My first official shift as a volunteer was the following week. I was pretty nervous at first, but the staff showed me exactly what to do. My main tasks were scooping out litter boxes, restocking food and water bowls, and giving lots of belly rubs and ear scratches to the dogs and cats. I loved every minute of it! The animals were all so sweet and seemed grateful for the care and attention. By the end of that first day, I knew I had made the right choice.Over the summer, I volunteered at the shelter twice a week for several hours each time. I looked forward to those days more than anything! Whenever I was feeling bored or restless at home, I thought about how the animals were waiting for me and it cheered me up. My favorite part was walk time with the dogs. I enjoyed getting them out of their kennels for some exercise and one-on-one play in the outdoor run. You could see how happy they were to stretch their legs and have a chance to socialize. As great as walking the dogs was, it definitely wasn't my only job. I also helped bathe some of the dirtier pooches when they first arrived at the shelter. Giving them a good scrubbing with the pet-safe shampoo helped them feel and smell so much better. Plus, it made them look more adoptable for their kennel photos. I even learned how to groom the long-haired dogs and cats by brushing out their fur. It took some practice, but eventually I got pretty good at removing mats and knots without hurting them. The animals always looked like million bucks after their spa treatments! My proudest volunteering moments were when I was able to assist with adoption events. Trailer after trailer would arrive full of kennels packed with puppies and kittens. Our job was to unload them all, set up temporary living spaces, and get them ready for their potential new families to view. Watching those adorable fur balls go home with loving owners made all the hard work worth it. I couldn't fight back happy tears every time! While playing with the cats and cuddly puppies was an absolute blast, cleaning up after them was definitely the hardest part. Picking up you-know-what from the kennels and exercise yards was pretty gross. But you know what? I didn't even mind THAT much. Seeing how appreciated I was by the animals andstaff made me forget all about the smelly messes. Plus, I knew I was helping create a clean, comfortable environment for those sweet pets as they awaited their forever homes. As summer came to an end, I was really sad that my regular volunteering schedule would have to change with school starting back up. I had grown so attached to those shelter animals and looked forward to my time there every week. The staff was amazing and treated me like one of the team despite being just a kid. That's when they let me know about the opportunity to volunteer on weekends and school holidays! Sign me up!Now, almost a year later, I'm still volunteering at the animal shelter as often as I can. I've met so many nice people, both volunteers and families looking to adopt. I've learned responsibility, compassion and that hard work really does pay off. Hearing a formerly homeless dog's new owners say "Thank you for taking great care of our new furry family member" makes every minute of volunteering worth it. Knowing that I played a small part in that pet's journey to find their perfect forever home is the most incredible feeling.I can't encourage other kids enough to get out and volunteer somewhere that speaks to them. Whether it's a animal shelter like me, a hospital, a food bank, or whatever else, thereare so many great organizations that rely on volunteers to fulfill their missions. Find a cause that you care about and get involved!I guarantee you'll have as awesome an experience as I've had this past year. The fuzzy faces and appreciative licks from myfour-legged shelter friends will stay with me forever. Volunteering has opened my eyes to how people of any age can make the world a little bit better if we work together. I can't wait to see where my volunteering adventures take me next!。

关于志愿者的英语作文(一)Volunteering has a meaningful, positive effect on your community. But did you know that it can have many benefits for you, too?To begin with, volunteering enables you to gain some valuable life experience as well as work skills, which I think lays a solid foundation for your future study or career. In the meantime, by volunteering, you can make friends with people from all walks of life, from whom you can obtain useful knowledge that can’t be learnt at school. In addition, volunteering provides you with a good opportunity to give back to society and break down barriers of understanding, thus a harmonious society can be created. As far as I’m concerned, volunteering is a good way for us to build self-esteem and self-confidence, too. Also, when offering others help, we ourselves will have a sense of satisfaction. Therefore, volunteering is of great benefit not only to others but also to ourselves.关于志愿者的英语作文(二)In modern societies, it is increasingly popular that young people volunteer on weekends in the local community service center to help the people in need. If all the youngsters do it in a regular way, the benefits are obvious to both the community and these young adults. It can be argued that the advantages of doing unpaid community service are enormous. Indeed, when an old person feels sick, the volunteers could offer first aid before thedoctor or the ambulance arrives. Moreover, as far as the young people are concerned, they could develop the sense of responsibility, independence as well as interpersonal skills in the process of helping others in the neighborhood. In this way, people may live in harmon y in the community.College students’ participating in teaching children in rural areas, in helping the old in geracomium and in other activities will not only take care of those people in need of help, but also bring hope and warmth to them. Besides, large-scale volunteer activities, such as the Olympic Games, can exercise the volunteers themselves, and what’s more, can show present university student's elegant demeanor.Be a university student, I will keep it in my heart that I'm a volunteer and fill myself with a strong will of devotion.。

Actually, they have formed a kind of scenery of the city. Some people hold that volunteering is merely a waste of time, because thevolunteers have no gains with pains. However, I believe that doing voluntary is quite rewarding. In the first place, we can put into practice what we have learnt before, for instance, when we were asked by a foreigner about the way to some place, we could practice our oral foreign language, it’s definitely a good opportunity to expreourselves in a foreign language correctly and clearly. In the second place, we could make a lot of new friends while we are volunteering As a proverb says, “At home one relies on one’s parents and outside on one’s friends”, so it is never a bad thing to have lots of friends. Finally, helping others is a good way to make you feel happy and when you help others solve a problem successful, you will feel fulfillment. Therefore, let us enjoy the time when serving as a volunteer.初二做志愿者的英语作文篇7The volunteering spirit has spread among the Chinese people in recent years, especially among young people.Volunteering is of tremendous benefits to both those in need and society. If all the youngsters do it in a regular way, the benefits are obvious to both the community and these young adults although there are some minor drawbacks as well.It can be argued that the advantages of doing unpaid community service are enormous. Indeed, when an old person feels sick, the volunteers could offer first aid before the doctor or the ambulance arrives. Likewise, if a disabled person has difficulty doing some daily activities such as shopping, the assistance from young volunteers is indispensable. Moreover, as far as the young people are concerned, they could develop the sense of responsibility, independence as well as interpersonal skills in the process of helping others in the neighborhood. In this way, people may live in harmony in the community.Nevertheless, the downsides of volunteer community service are worth mentioning. In fact, in the city likeShanghai, an increasing number of graduates find it harder to make a living on their own. Thus, if all of the young adults are required to do full-time unpaid job in a fixed period, some of them would have no income source, which is unrealistic to these youngsters. In addition, it is believed that community service could possibly take up their time of acquiring knowledge.Be a university student, I will keep it in my heart that I'm a volunteer and fill myself with a strong will of devotion and won't do anything unable to match my designation.初二做志愿者的英语作文篇10Xiao Ming had a dream(梦)last nightXiao Ming had a dream last night.
