There are special tea ceremonies with certain ways to brew and serve different kinds of tea. My grandpa has taught me the traditional way to hold the teacup and smell the aroma of the tea before drinking it. Some of my favorite Chinese teas are jasmine, oolong, and pu'er tea. I hope you've had a chance to try really good Chinese tea before!One more tradition I want to tell you about is the Chinese art of paper cutting, which is over 1,500 years old. Can you believe people were creating such beautiful and detailed paper cut-outs that long ago? My parents have red paper cut-outs of words like"happiness" and "luck" that we hang up for the New Year. But you can also find paper cut-outs in the shape of animals, flowers, or whole detailed scenes. I've tried doing paper cutting before and it's really hard to make the tiny cuts and keep everything connected! The artists who create those delicate paper cut-outs are so talented.Those are just a few examples of ancient Chinese traditions that are still celebrated today. I feel really proud and lucky to come from such a rich cultural heritage. We keep these traditions alive by passing them down from generation to generation in our families.
