It's 1981 San Francisco. Chris Gardner is a middle-aged salesman whose self-employed business of selling portable bone density scanners isn't doing well.and also he is tired of the career .So he makes his decision to change his career, regardless of the protest of his wife .In fact, his His wife, Linda does nothing but yells at him and gives him a cold shoulder. He devotes himself to the stock market and wants to make a career. However, his dream of success is broken shortly afterwards. His wife is so disappointed about him that she leaves him,leaving their five-year-old son to him.
Everything becomes difficult. His property is run out and even his house is mortagaged. He is evicted from his home. He goes to jail, neither passing GO nor collecting a much-needed $200. He gets hit by a car. He is robbed. He makes his son cry. He alienates a friend over $14. He gets to spend a night in the cleanest public restroom in the history of public restrooms.
All he has is his lovely son. Facing the hardship bravely, he earns his son’s love and trust. And they go through all the difficulties together. With his believe and his son’s love,he is given a chance in a company. Despite having no experience, Chris applies to enter an internship program at Dean Witter. He would appear to have no chance to get in until he amazes the head of the program by solving the Rubik's Cube puzzle in the back of a taxi cab. And at last, he succeeds.
