1.Course Description

The course introduces students to law and government in Hong Kong, namely, the post-1997 “One Country Two Systems” constitutional arrangements, the drafting of HKSAR Basic Law, organization and operations of the HKSAR government, the HKSAR’s councils and legislature, and the HKSAR judiciary. Emphases of the course include the working of the common law legal system and the governance of Hong Kong.
