英国中学课程设置

英国的义务教育为11年,即小学6年,中学5年。英国中学的年级划分一般是延续小学的年级,即从7—11年级。英国中学的课程设置尽可能地保持科学技术、人文学科和艺术学科之间的平衡。开设包括英语、数学、现代语言,地理、历史、科学、音乐、戏剧,信息技术、设计技术、美术与设计、个人与社会教育、体育、宗教教育等多项课程。其中科学包含了生物,物理、化学和科学调查等内容。美国中学课程设置

美国初中为6—8年级,高中为9 12年级。开设的主要课程有英语、数学、科学,社会学、体育,音乐、美术。另外还有一些辅助课程,包括健康教育、外语、实践等。和中国的语文课不同,美国中学的英语课被划分为阅读和语言艺术。美国中学的数学课和中国相比,教学目标和难度相对简单,主要学习代数。而科学集集物理、化学、生物、地球学等学科于一身。社会学也是是一门综合性的学科,包括地理、历史、经济学、宪法及公民的权利与义务等。

教学步骤

Welcome to the unit

Step I呈现

1与学生进行交流,引入本单元活题。教师说:You study at..Middle School for many days Do you like your new school? Do you tell your parents about your new school? What do you tell them?鼓励学生给出自己的答案,如I like my school I tell my parents about classmates and sports接着教师呈现说I think you can tell them about your friends and teachers

2通过情境或照片,向学生呈现课程名称。教师说I am teaching English now.So I am your

English teacher. 板书so。接着呈现各门课的教师授课的照片并问学生:

Who is this teacher? What subject does he/she teach? He/She teaches……。板书biology,geography,history等常用的课程名称,帮助学生正确掌握读音。

Step lI 操练

1指导学生完成课本A部分的练习。教师说:We have many subjects at school.Please look at the pictures in Part A Write the name of each subject under each picture.

2与学生一起看图进行交流。教师说Look at Picture One What subject does Kitty have? Look at Picture Two What subject do they have? 以此方法,检查学生对新知识的掌握。如:Picture Three:What subject does Millie learn?

Picture Four:What subject is this?

Picture Five:What subject is this?

Picture Six:What subject does this teacher teach?

Picture Seven:Do you know this subject? What is it?

Picture Eight:What subject does this teacher teach?

Step III呈现

1利用学生的课程表,呈现新知识。教师说What's the date today? 板书date。教师一边在黑板上写卜当天的日期,一边说It's…Here is your schedule What lessons do you have today?鼓励学生用刚学过的知识,根船实际情况回答。接着教师说:What’s the date tomorrow? What lessons do you have tomorrow?通过学生的回答检验学生掌握情况。

2继续利用课程表和学生的作息表,呈现新知识。教师说:What time is your Maths lesson? What time does your Chinese lesson begin?启发学生根据实际情况回答It begins at…o’clock.板书o’dock。教师再说:Do you have a class meeting every week? Do you have a parents’meeting?板招meeting。教师接着说:

Some schools have an Open Day.It’S for parents to visit sch001.Do you have an Open Day? What’s the d ate of your Open Day? Do you want an Open Day?

Would you like an Open Day?鼓励学生根据实际回答。

3向学生介绍B部分的语境。教师说Millie wants her mother to come to school on the Open Day, Please listen to the tape and answer these questions

(1)What’s the date of the Open Day in Millie's school?

(2)Can Millie’s mother go to her school?

(3)What time does the parents ’meeting begin?

(4) What else do parents do after the meeting?

(5)Where does Millie meet her mother?

Step IV操练

1播放录音,让学生朗读对话。

2将班级分为两大组,或按男女生分角色朗读对话

StepV展示

1安排学生以同桌为单位编写对话。教师说:Boys and girls.imagine that your school will have

an Open Day.Who would you like to invite to school? What do you want him,h虹to do with you? Work in pairs and talk about it .You can use Millie and her mother’s conversation as a model.

2为使学生方便对话练习.教师还可为学牛提供一些情境。

情境一:邀请父母双方到校,家长会后,观看足球赛。

情境二:邀请体育明星到校,参观并给学生上体育课。

情境三:邀请科学家到校,给大家上课。

3教师要鼓励学生在对话中用本节课及之前学习过的语言表达(时间、地点,活动等)。

4教师巡视,选几组不同层次的学生上台表演,井在表演结束后给予鼓励和表扬。Comic strip

1创设语境,向学生呈现新知识。教师说In school,there are many subjects.What is your favourite one? Which is your favourite subject? 板书which。鼓励学生根据自己的实际情况回答.My favourite subject is…..

2对有能力的学生,教师可以追加提问:Why do you like this subject?

3在学生回答过程中,教师可启发学生谈论喜爱某一学科的原因。如:It’s very interesting It can make me strong.

StepII操练

1教师指导学生开展“开火车”活动。教师说:Would you like to play a game to learn about your classmates’ favourite subjects? Let’s do chain work! Please ask the questions one by one教师在投影或黑板上呈现对话:

2在学生练习过程中,教师可适时参与学生的活动,对学生的表达给予反馈。

Step III呈现

1向学生介绍漫画故事背最,让他们听录音回答问题。教师说:Eddie is a lovely dog.Do you know his favourite subject? Which is his favourite subject? Listen to the tape and answer this question为学生播放前两幅漫画的录音,并鼓励他们回答:Eddie’s favourite subject is Maths 2教师继续提问,并让学生带着悬念听余下的录音部分。教师说:Why can Eddie learn Maths well? 学生听完后两幅漫画的录音后回答问题Because Eddie likes eating very much

3接着分配男生和女生分角色跟着录音朗读对话,并启发学生从音色、节奏、速度等方面设计朗读的方式,使自己的朗读更有感染力。

Step IV展示

1组织学生同桌分角色有感情地朗读对话,并设计符合漫画内容的面部表情和肢体语言。2让学生看漫画,进行配音活动。之后再选不同层次的几组学生进行展示。

3对有能力的学生可以让他们尝试续写漫画内容。教师说:Suppose you are Hobo. When you hear Eddie’s words.what do you think of him? What will you say to Eddie? Please continue writing Eddie and Hobo's conversation

1熟读本课时所学内容,记忆词汇、词组、句型。

StepI呈现

1与学生就自己学校的情况进行交流,呈现新知识。教师说:Look at our school.

Is it beautiful? Do you like it? 鼓励学生表达自己的真实观点。教师说I think our school is beautiful It is so good板书so。接着问学生What can you see in the school?鼓励学生根据实际

情况回答We can see tall trees,beautiful flowers and a playground

2教师接着向学生呈现事先准备好的校园图片。教师说:In our school,we can also see some buildings Look at this building Some tall trees are in front of it板书building和in front of。教师呈现更多照片并说What's in front of….? Which building is our classroom in? Which building is our art room in? Which building is our school hall in?板书hall,检验学生掌握的情况。教师接着说:Look at this building How many floors are there in the building?和学生一起数:Let’s count One,two,three,four.Oh,there are four floors in this building指着一楼说:This s the ground floor Is our classroom on the ground floor?板书ground. 和on the ground floor,鼓励学生根据实际情况回答。

3教师利用所在教室继续生现新知识。教师说:Our classroom is on … floor The classroom is so bright.We have a computer room too It looks very modem板书bright和modern。

1向学生展示校园的平面示意图,指导他们用学过的表达谈论自己的校园。教师说:0ur school is a beautiful school Today some foreign visitors come to our school Would you please look at the map and introduce our school to them?教师可以为学生提供一些句掣:

2鼓励学生看平面图,用简电的语言介绍校园。对有能力的学生,可以启发他们用更丰富的语言介绍。

Step III呈现

1向学生介绍课文对话背景,并呈现新知识。教师说:Today is the Open Day in Millie’s school Millie meets her mother at the school gate.She is ready to show her mother around the school 板to show sb around。

2向学生呈现校园内不同建筑物和活动场地的图片,指导学生阅读对话,井指出图片所代表的地点。教师说Here are some pictures of different places in Millie’s school. Let’s follow Millie to visit her school and know the places.为学生播放录音,鼓励学生读完对话后说出图片上的地点:the playground,the classroom building,the classroom,the art room,the music room,the computer room,the library and the hall。

3指导学生再次听录音,以便对Millie的学校有进一步的了解,之后通过课本B1和B2部分的练习,检查学生的掌撵状况。教师说:Please read the conversation again.Then I'd like to check how well you know Millie’s school.

4安排学生根据对话内容,完成B2的判断练刿。教师说:Look at the information about Sunshine Middle School in Part B2 Read the conversation once more Then

write a T if the sentence is true Write an F if it is false

Step IV操练

1再次为学生播放录音,指导他们跟读对话。教师说Let’s read Millie and her mother’s

conversation after the tape

2将班级分成两大组,请学生分别扮演Millie和她的母亲朗读对话。教师说:I’d like these two groups to be Millie and these two groups to be her mother-Shall we read the conversation? Then we can change the roles如有需要还口,以分男女再次朗读。

3创设情境,组织学生以四人小组为单位,针对课文互相提问。教师说:Millie’s father doesn’t go to her school on the Open Day.So he is asking Millie’s mother some questions .Suppose you are Millie’s father What do you want to know about Millie and her school?对能力较弱的学生,教师可提供一些问题供他们参考:

Step-V活动

1指导学生两人一组练习对话表演。教师说It’s role—play time.Work in pairs and suppose you are Millie and her mother.

A Personal pronouns (subject form)

1 出示与学生校园生活有关的图片,通过对图片的介绍呈现新的语言现象。教师说Look at this school.It is our school.You study here And I teach English here.

We always begin classes at 8 a m.Look at this man He is Mr…. He is our principal. Look at this woman.She is Miss...She is your history teacher.They are very kind They are good teachers教师一边介绍,一边将这些句子写在黑板上。

2教师用彩色笔标注出人称代}司,请学生说说这些人称代词的含义及他们分别指代的人或物。

(1)It is our school.

3教师向学生解释:We can use personal pronouns to replace nouns for people or things,so we do not need to repeat the nouns.将personal pronouns写在黑板上。并告诉学生:We use the subject form when the noun is the subject将subject form写在黑板上,解释当名词做主语时,我们要用人称代词的主格来替换。

4教师带领学生阅读A中的表格和例句。请学生将每个例句中的代词及其所指代的名词找出来。然后请学生朗读句子。

1教师与学生就My school为主题,进行口头交流。一方面复习原有知识,另一方面导入B部分的话题。教师问:Do you like your school? Is it big or small? What do you have in your school? Do you have a building? Is it tall? How many floors does the building have? Which floor is your classroom on? Do you have a library?Is it open every day? What can you do in the library? Are there many books in your library?

2在与学生交流的过程中呈现reading room,an kinds of和borrow..from…等。

Step II听力训练

1向学生呈现课本B部分的图片并介绍语境。教师说:Amy’s cousin,Shirley,wants to know more about Amy’s school Please listen to their conversation and answer this question:What place are they talking about?

2播放录音,鼓励学生带着目的听录音并找出答案:They are talking about the library.3为学生提供T,F判断题,要求他们再听录音并完成正误州断:

(1)The library in Amy’s school is big (T)

(2)It is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.(F)

任此环节中,教师还可让学生就My favourite place in the school等话题进行讨论。

2教师利用图片向学生介绍交通方式。教师说I get to school by bus every day .Sometimes I ride a bike to school将by bus和ride a bike写在黑板上,同时呈现take a bus,walk和by bike。教师还可以提问:How do you get to school every day?验证学生掌握情况。

3教师接着呈现花费时间的表达。教师说:If I go to school by bus.it takes me twenty minutes教师接着问学生How long does it take you to get to school by bike?鼓励学生根据真实情况回答,由此检查学生对新知识的理解状况。

1向学生介绍课本A部分的情境,指导他们进行听力训练。教师说Millie and her friends are talking about how they get to school every day.Now let’s listen to their conversation and match the information with each person in Part A1.为学生播放录音井指导学生完成。如需要可多播放几遍。

2通过与学生问答的方式,核对答案。教师说How does Millie get to school?

What about Amy? How does Sandy get to school?

3向学生呈现A2部分的背景,指导他们先完成部分表格、再带着问题听录音,补全表格信息。教师说,Here is a table in part A2 Would you please complete the table?Can you complete it?If not,please listen to the conversation again.

4接着向学生介绍A3部分的情境,指导他们昕录音并根据A1和A2的信息完成Millie 的文章。教师说Millie makes notes now She needs your help.Please listen to the conversation once more and complete Part A3.

3用事先制作的音标卡向学生呈现本课时所要教授的14个辅音。对有能力的学生可进一步教授音标的写法,提醒学生音标与字母书写方式上的异同之处。

1要求学生将课本39页表格右边的音标遮挡起来,指导他们听录音并自己总结每组单词的读音。

1教师与学生就学校生活进行交流,从而导入新知识。教师说:Excuse me,how do you get to school everyday?鼓励学生根据实际情况回答。当遇到有学生回答“I get to school by bus.”时,教师可以说:Oh,you take a bus to school I think it is a long way from your home to school,right? You live far away from the school板书far away from。

2当教师遇到有学生回答“1 walk to school”时,可以说I see You live near our school.So you go to school on foot板书go to school和on foot。

3教师接着与学生交流。教师说:I know a lot of students come to school by bike .And only a few students come on foot板书a few。

4教师鼓励更多的学生参与交流,检验学生对新知识的掌握情况。

2指导学生参考范文和Useful expressions,根据自己的真实信息,尝试写作。教师说Now ,do your best to write an article about your school You can use some useful expressions on page 40教师要启发学生拓宽思路,用于尝试,充分运用所学知识进行写作,不要完全拘泥于范文。

3学生完成写作后,将他们分成四人小组,互相批改并选出组内文章中的“佳句”,再为全班学生朗读,互相学习。
